Has anyone had an issue with these working for a short period of time and then they stop working? I have these speakers set up on a bookshelf, where I can plug in the Zune, IPod, Ipad, cell phone, and play anything I want. I connected my cell phone the second day, and they stopped working....all I could hear was a very slight hiss coming from the right speaker.

This unit worked great for a month, sub-woofer died after a month. I need to return this back to Amazon, not sure what is the return policy. Not really happy with this product. Didn't even last more than a month.I contacted Amazon customer service and they refunded my money. Happy with amazon return policy. I will give amazon 5 stars for this return.

I'm very satisfied with the power and sound quality of theses speakers. I was told by a Best Buy representative that Logitech speakers are substandard when it comes to home audio, but this model sounds fantastic to me. These were intended for my Macbook Pro, for playing music and games, but I don't doubt that they'll enhance my movie watching experience as well. I know good speakers are more than just power or boom, but I'm stil impressed with the fact I have not felt the need to turn the bass know passed halfway and the volume know even less than that.For the price, one can't really expect too much. But, as I said, these are well worth every cent.

I paid around $100 for these after applying points from my credit card. Would not pay much more than this for these speakers. The bass is really good, but they are definitely missing the higher frequencies. I'm not sure if they need to be broken in some, or if this is just typical for these speakers. These speakers aren't bad. They look good. They sound decent. The sub produces a ton of low end--which is good. These speakers just lack the warm, sweet, higher/midrange frequency. I've heard Klipsch Pro Media speakers, which blow the Logitech away; however, I've also read a lot of reviews about quality issues with the Klipsch--which is why I chose these. Like I said, these aren't bad, they fit my needs, I just wish they had better highs-the lack of highs is pretty noticeable.**UPDATE**Speakers must have needed some break in time, or my ears needed time to adjust. These are pretty decent speakers...not a surround experience, but they're only 2.1's. The sub is excellent for the price. Nice lows.

I was looking through all the computer speaker systems looking for the most bang for my buck. After reading all the great reviews (speakers don't have tweeters, but STILL sound great without) i decided to purchase these, and when they arrived i tested them out with some music. Some of the best computer speakers i have owned.

Very impressed with these speakers.These are definitely the best PC speakers I ever purchased. Great sound and quality. The bass really kicks and the quality of the sound is fantastic for both gaming or just listening to some tunes. Great value!!

I listened to the Harmon Kardon Soundsticks for years and was happy with the crisp, clean sound and good bass. However, it lacked midrange and didn't have much of a soundstage. A few weeks ago, I upgraded to Axiom Audiobytes which blew my Soundsticks away with a rich sound and expansive soundstage. I've received the Logitech's to review and have done a direct A-B-C comparison of all three 2.1 systems.Overall, the Logitech's stack up very well with the Audiobytes which cost significantly more at $530. The Logitech soundstage is very good, but not ridiculously expansive like the Audiobytes. The Logitech's musical quality is excellent although slightly harsher than the silky smooth Audiobytes. Voice clarity is great on both systems. Both do a good job with high, mid, and low range frequencies. The subwoofers are similar in that they complement rather than shake the walls. Even though the Audiobytes sound better, any differences between the 2 systems are subtle, and I honestly wouldn't lose much switching to the Logitech's. In short, I am extremely impressed with the Logitech's and would be happy using them permanently.Direct comparison to the Soundsticks reveals Logitech as clearly superior. The Soundsticks simply sound small compared to the Logitech's. The strength of the Soundsticks is high-end clarity and this is matched by the Logitech's. Frequency balance is significantly better with the Logitech's because the Soundsticks lack midrange. The Soundsticks' sub is a little more boomy than the Logitech but both work well. Since both speaker sets cost the same, the Logitech's are the obvious choice.The build quality of the Logitech's is very good. The satellites are solidly constructed with nice heft. Control knobs are big and easy to use. The teardrop design looks great on your desk. Built-in wire grills on the satellites and sub not only look good but do a good job protecting the speakers. The satellites are angled slightly upward at about a 15 degree angle which helps decrease any sound reflection off your desk and obviates the need for speaker stands. A minor negative is the cables which connect the satellites to the sub are only 6 feet long so if you want to put your sub far away, you won't be able to do so.In summary, if you are looking for a great computer speaker, don't hesitate to get the Logitech Z623. If you are fanatical about audio quality, you can do better with the Audiobytes albeit at a much higher cost.

Picked these up to compliment my new home office. I must say these sound incredible for the price. I have them hooked up with a splitter so I can use them with my laptop and gaming rig. Usually only watching netflix and listening to music on them. The overall sound is very crisp and clean. You can adjust the bass and once you have it dialed in the mid/high/lows really sound good.The build quality seems nice, You can scratch the front of them kind of easily but they feel heavy and sturdy.Good stuff once again Logitech.

I got these yesterday. They are better than expected. The quality is top notch and the sound that comes out of these is amazing. Tight bass and great sound. I have the volume maxed out on my computer and I barely have the volume control on the speakers cranked (I'd say they're at 15-20%) and the sound is loud and tight. I say tight, because there's no rattle or other noise (besides the audio coming out) like other cheap speakers. Very impressed and worth it. I missed the opportunity to jump on these at $110 but even at the current price this is a great buy. You won't be disappointed.

I was very happy with the sound quality of my z623 speakers. usually an analog connection to computer speakers has some sort of hiss or crackle, but I didn't notice anything like that with these. Unfortunately, though, about 6 months after I purchased the speakers, they completely stopped working. The power light would not turn on, even when connected to different outlets/sources. Logitech won't send out a replacement until I ship the bad speakers.When a product dies this early in its lifecycle, the onus should be on logitech to make it right with simple steps: after over-the-phone troubleshooting, a replacement unit should be send out with a prepaid return label for the bad unit. It's obvious that the unit is dead; don't make me wait a month without sound.Logitech normally makes wonderful products, but their handling of customer support leaves much to be desired.

I read several reviews on a few different speakers and I decided on these because of all the good reviews and the price. The highs are crisp and the bass is amazing. I can't believe the sound that comes out of these. I also have 2 Cambridge Soundworks systems and a Boston Acoustic and this easily beats them. The price is great too as Best Buy sells them for $149.00.

Cable to connect the Right Speaker with the System Controls to the Subwoofer is extremely short and worst, I can't find an extension cord. May work for some people but not for those with limited space and/or flexibility, e.g. I had to install the subwoofer beside my Tower PC on the floor, I'm afraid the vibration will end up damaging my hard disc drives...

I liked the simple, sleek look this system has. The satellites look great with a TV or desktop computer. The volume knob, bass knob, headphone input, and audio input are on the right speaker, which is quite convenient. The bass is good, it packs a nice punch for its size.

You should not have any hesitation with this purchase. It truly stands out from any other computer system I have owned and rivals my $700 7.1 onkyo THX surround sound system in the living room but this is 2 small desktop speakers and a reasonably sized sub. This can handle about anything you want it to.

Don't be fooled. This set of speakers, although it's only 2 speakers and a sub, is VERY loud! and the sound quality is great being THX certified. My bass is usually set to a little less than half of the highest, and it's still powerful. I would definitely recommend this over the other Logitech systems.

I've been shopping around for a decent desktop speaker system for a while. Listened to quite a few at different stores. I settled on this Z623 system and I am 100% satisfied. The sound is full and clear. For a small system, this really cranks.

The Logitech Z623 is very clear and powerful. It is a nice, heavy, solid unit, which includes the satellites (you can actually adjust the bass, volume and power controls without worrying about them falling over), and the 7" sub/amp system. I connected the system to a Creative X-Fi Extreme Music sound card, which I feel is important for any decent computer speaker system (not necessarily the Music Extreme card, but any worthwhile sound card should be used). Without the card, it is very hard to get a decent midrange and high end sound out of this system; with the card, and fine-tuning the equalization settings (which takes a lot of trial and error- let your ears be the judge), this system sounds excellent! I kid you not: I have a 1600 square foot house, and when the system is cranked up, you can hear the bass outside in the yard (and that's on a half-acre lot)! Lots and lots of good, bass-kicking, clear power. My own opinion is if your going to use your computer's on-board audio, yes, you will see an improvement over cheap speakers, but I would not invest in this level of quality with that arrangement. I can give this a solid 4 stars in audio quality; why not 5? Because everything is relative, and while this system is excellent for what it is, considering the price and that it's a sound setup for computers, it cannot compare to my home system whatsoever (Klipsch 5.2s with 10" woofers and 12" passive radiators). But considering the Z623 has only ONE 7" sub and two small satellites, and gets as loud as it does without distorting, it's worth every penny and you will have no regrets. (let me know if you want to know my personal EQ settings and I'll send you the info)

These speakers are great! I got them for general use and also for parties at my house. I can tell you, these speakers can get a dance floor moving. I'm no audiophile, but some of the bass could be more crisp like others have said. Generally though, great speakers.I was very sad and worried when I opened my Amazon box. There was a box inside that had clearly been opened and then taped back up and was wrapped in loose plastic. The boxes inside we the same, and all of the inner cardboard was scraped up. So much for paying for "NEW" but the speakers are working great, and I didn't want to deal with having to ship them back, so I have no reason to complain.

I refuse to buy $400+ speakers for stupid stuff like gaming, so I bought these, and I'm very happy with them.PROSThe sub is more than adequate and can hit mids pretty solidly. It can't handle lows very well, but that's to be expected.The speakers deliver crisp, rich sound with no discernible rattle.The speakers and sub orchestrate nicely, delivering a full, enjoyable listening experience. And it can go LOUD.CONS...the speakers are kind of ugly and the cords are a little short? Nothing much to complain about, honestly.If you're using cheap speakers, you don't know what you're missing. Upgrade and you'll be amazed at how much better games, movies, videos, and music are with good sound.

Purchased these to replace a similar 2.1 Altec Lansing set that lasted me about 10 years.These sound slightly better than the Altec set which cost ~$200 back in the day. I paid $106 shipped for this set.I notice better bass control and crisper sound than my old set.These sound good with music, even cranked up, but they sound GREAT while playing Battlefield 3.Again, I was not looking for a set to blow away what I had before, I wanted something just as good. I was very impressed by this set especially when considering the price paid. In the end I am glad my Altec's shorted out, else I may not have replaced them with this awesome set.

I love these speakers. I use them for watching movies on my tv and the sound is AWESOME. The Bass is great for the fact that you can adjust it for more or less. I watched Avatar and it was AWESOME!!! You will love these! The sound quality is great.

These Logitech Z623 speakers are well worth the $125 bucks. I am replacing my Altec Lansing speakers. I am connecting the Logitech Z623s to my iMac 27 to listen to iTunes and Spotify. There is an app that I bought for $6.99 called "Boom" - OMG - Between the iMac 27, the Boom App and now these Z623 speakers, this "little" set up (takes up very little room), yet fills the entire living room. The subwoofer on these speakers kicks butt, the speakers have a full mid-range sound and I always want a clean high end sound when listening to my music. These speakers do it for me. Would I recommend these speakers? Hell yeah!

My immediate reaction when I plugged in the speakers and started listening to music from my mp3 player was WOW. I thought I was getting decent sound from my $20 - $50 speakers, but the Z623 speakers are in a completely different league. Not just the sound but the sound texture comes through clearly. The volume will fill a room comfortably, but don't expect them to be able to attack your neighbors. I don't know how they compare with other speakers in their class, but these are more than worth the upcharge from entry-level sound.

I had a Logitech z2300, but when I was coming back to the US from Haiti I gave as a gift to some friend there.Once here I wanted to buy again this model and I found out that logitech had discontinued the product...Is why I bought this model as a replacement...Well..If you,.. as me, had a Logitech Z2300..dont even think for 1 second that you will get a Z2300 replacement with this model. This is why my 4 star.If you never had a Z2300, you will be happy.Sound quality-range price are maybe the best on the market, I bought it for 99...Look very nice wherever you will place it and the controls are confortable, just I would to put a treble control that is missing...and, I am waiting for the 2.1 speaker wich can work wireless with my laptop...we are on the 21 century, right??I gave 4 star before.....Well..I am coming to update this product for the reason that yesterday March 2012(I bought it on september 2011)...IT JUST STOP RUNNING!!!!...with no reason at all, was working on sunday morning...I moved some furniture and replaced the speakers, when I plug in it,....JUST SILENCE!!!!....I miss my logitech z2300..... : (

These speakers are loud, I like to listen to loud music and for 130 bucks you can't get a 200 watt system anywhere. when i turned up the volume to max the speakers handle the sound like a champ, it doesn't struggle at all and it makes you feel like your not putting stress on them.Pros:Awesome sounding200 wattshas an audio jack on the back of the sub and on the right speaker, very easy to hook up and quick to get sound goingCons:None system sounds amazingVery pleased with purchase, Recommended buy

This is a great buy for $119. There are nay-sayers on here that talk about computer speakers like they are reviewing a Ferrari and make comparisons with speaker systems costing almost 6 times the price, but for computer/ipod speakers this set rocks. It's not Macintosh monoblocks and B&W Nautilus, but it sounds incredible for under $150.-Scott

I bought these for my office. The speakers really sound good & the sub will definitely fill the room (my office is about 10 x 20). If I crank it up all the way, you can hear it outside. Highly recommend these!

I have tried several different speaker systems on my pc,and was truly amazed at the high quality thumpy bass and clear sound of the logitec Z623 Speaker system! (especially for the price!!)If you want quality Logitec has it.I have used their products for several years, and can honestly say that I am impressed and will remain a loyal customer.I cant wait to try the wireless keyboard and mouse.

Sounds reasonably good for what you pay, bass is fairly tight and not boomy once regulated properly. Definitely has improved after letting it burn in for a few days. No longer nearly as bright and tinny. Pretty happy with it for the price. Wish it had a better headphone amp as it seems quiet with my Ultrasones and Ultimate Ears.

Sounds great. I get complaints/compliments from my dorm-mates... From the next hall and floors. The minus side is, it isn't as cool as it's predecessor and lacks the control pod. You'd think they knew to include one, even if it was just for the novelty factor. For the purpose though, it doesn't get any better than this. Buy a 5.1 if you want more, this is extremely well done.

These speaker are fantastic. Flat out. Listening to music is unbelievable. I literally heard things in songs I had never heard before. Games sound great as well.However! I must warn buyers: these speakers are not good for blu-rays. I, foolishly, bought this for my entertainment system rather than just for computer use. Most blu-rays only support 5.1 audio. Which means you don't hear half the soundtrack/sound effects with the 2.1 system. Many movies this is not a HUGE deal, but one that is noticeably different is Inception. Lot's of awkward pauses, missing sound effects, etc. This is not the speakers fault in any way, it's completely mine, I just don't want someone to make the same idiotic mistake. I would not have bought these speakers had I known.But like I said, they sound incredible. I got them for 100 on black Friday, definitely worth the money. Just bummed about the 5.1.WHY THE HECK WOULD YOU NOT INCLUDE 2.1 on BLU RAYS!?!?!?! Ugh.

Replaced an 8 yr old Altec Lansing system from Dell (which was awesome). Subwoofer is huge for 2.1 system (10x10x11) which gives plenty of thump. I don't need that much for what I do, but nice to know I have if needed. Using integrated sound on motherboard, so that may be a little issue. Sound is rich or deep, but when playing loud rock, the mids seem a little muddy. Mids are not crisp (snares, lead guitars, etc. etc.). Maybe just a change in system. Otherwise a great setup for a computer.

I started out with Klipsch Promedia 2.1 speakers which I thought sounded slightly better and seemed slightly better built. I ultimately returned 2 different Promedia units because of defects and dcided to go with the Logitechs, based on very solid reviewsSetup was easier than with the Klipsch speakers, mainly because of Logitech's use of RCA jacks vs bare wire connectors on the Klipsch. Each of their desktop/floor footprints were similar, as were the location and type of control knobs. It should be noted that the Klipsch control "pad" slides off the speaker it is mounted to and can be replaced. The Logitech controls are built into the right speaker, and I assume that you'd need to replace the entire speaker of something went wrong.The sound reproduction seemed to be a little better on the kilpsch, but you won't be unhappy with the Logitech. Highs are crisp and clean, midranges are rich and vibrant, and the subwoofer provides enough kick for even the most bass dependent sound sources. My taste in music ranges from Clssical to Irish Folk, to Clssic Rock to Hip Hop. All sound good with these speakers.The only real downside to the Logitechs is the VERY short cord length. I had just about enough length to shoot the wire behind my desk and down to where the subwoofer/amplifier unit sits. 3 more feet would have been nice and would have cost the company next to nothing to provide. One big advantage these have over the Klipsch is that you can turn them off from a switch on the speaker. The Klipsch have to be connected to a power strip or similar device, or unplugged. I leave mine on as they draw almost no power, but this might matter to some.In short, I recommend the Logitechs. They'll give you the sound reproduction you want at what I think is a reasonable price.

Great sounding speaker system. We have a desk top and needed a better speaker system. This really fits the bill, though my wife says it was too big! The subwoofer was kinda of large but it sounds good.

Moving away from a 5.1 system to a 2.1 was a major decision. I do not regret it, I love this product. Quality speakers, subwoofer has enough power for my office. I use it mostly for music and I couldn't be happier.

I had an older Altec Lansing vs4121 and put up with a slight buzzing noise for the past 4 years now and some unclean boomy sounding bass. Decided to replace the Altec system and did not expect the Z623 to be as clear and powerful as it was. I should have upgraded sooner. For the price I paid for these, I could not find a competing product.
