I used to play bass for a living and now own a computer company. These are the best pc speakers I have EVER heard. Period. The fact that they are only $100+ is simply amazing. You can quit reading & quit looking . . . . just buy them.

These speakers take about a week to break in. Don't rate them before you give them a week. They sound is great and so is the price. I wish the cables were a bit longer.

First of all, I disagree with any suggestions that the bass on this system is boomy in a bad way. I also disagree that this system sounds like a boombox. It sounds great! I chose this system in particular because it's THX Certified, so I knew it was unlikely that they'd sound disappointingly bad. They sound wonderful, in my opinion, and I haven't even touched any equalizers. I got them for my girlfriend so she wouldn't be stuck with 2W laptop speakers anymore. I'm breaking them in with some trance at a moderate volume right now. Mid-range isn't the best, but it's certainly there and enough to satisfy anyone not looking to spend $300+ on computer speakers. The highs and lows sound great and personally I think the bass is at a perfect level (at 50%), definitely not boomy. In fact, it beats my (albeit 11 year old) Altec Lansing ADA885 system's subwoofer (system originally $300). Bottom line is for the price, these things sound GREAT and have tons of good bass. Highly recommend. Definitely worth spending the extra money over a cheaper $60 system... grab these instead, you'll be glad you did.

I love listening to music and watching movies on my computer, but I have always relied on relatively cheap speakers (or even my built-in laptop speakers) to provide my sound. I decided to order these speakers and take my music and videos to "the next level" and see if these speakers could deliver the loud, clear, and rich sound I expect from more expensive stereo systems and speakers.Below are my positive and negative evaluations of the Logitech Z623 speaker system.Positive:- The subwoofer is huge, and provides a nice, rich, bass sound. I am amazed at the loudness and clarity of the bass.- The speakers may seem little, but they produce a big and rich sound, with very little vibration or feedback.- The overall sound quality and clarity is impressive. When I listened to my favorite songs, I heard sounds and instruments I had never heard before. Watching videos with these speakers has opened up an entirely new (and great) listening experience!- To test the unit's power, I turned the volume on full blast (with the computer volume turned on full as well) and the sound was pretty much flawless. I didn't hear any rattling or feedback. These speakers are pretty loud, and definitely loud enough for what I need.Negative:- The cords are a little short, but not too short as to be annoying.- The unit is large (the entire set weighs about 22 lbs). This means that moving the speakers and subwoofer is a little inconvenient. I am used to moving speakers around with my laptop. I really can't do this with these speakers.Overall, this is a great speaker system, and I am glad I upgraded from the cheap speakers. Until now, I didn't know what I was missing using cheaper speakers. I plan on using these speakers any time I watch a video, listen to music, or play games. Their loud and rich sound has turned my computer into a powerful stereo system (I want to throw a party just to show them off!). If you want to take your listening to the next level, these speakers are for you.

I did a direct comparison between these 2010 speakers and my 2005 Logitech x-230 2.1 2-Piece Dual Drive Speakers with Ported Subwoofer. I listened to classical music such as Mozart piano concertos and chamber music as well as movie soundtracks such as Out of Africa on a Sony Walkman NWZ-E354 8GB Digital Music Player (Red). To my ears, the new speakers were indeed better in soundstage and directionality. However, as some other reviewers have noted, the mid-range is weak, whereas the high-range was very bright in direct comparison to the X-230. I wish there was a treble control to bring the brightness down. After a few hours, my ears did indeed tire and fatique listening to the brightness of the high notes. I went back to my X-230, which was very highly rated, but is no longer being made.

I must admit I rarely leave product feedback but I do rely on it almost exclusively.Therefore, I'm compelled to leave a review for this system.I don't consider myself a sound snob but maybe close--a sound nerd perhaps.I have had many, many systems, car audio, home audio, home theater, turntable home stereo systems etc.I have had at least 5 computer systems.Two words for this system: Mind Blowing.Yes--it's awesome--the depth, the range the deep resonance and clear highs . . . wow!!!Get it.

These speakers sound fantastic and are an incredible value. I plan to buy two more sets for the bedroom and rv. More realistic and powerful sound than you can expect from speakers at this price. Note to Logitech: I would pay $50 more for a model with remote.

I can not believe anyone would give these speakers a bad review unless they are a competitor or they have unrealistic expectations. They sound incredible. Plenty of power. More bass than I need--I mostly listen to rock music; late 1960's to present--but you can adjust the bass to suit your music style.

I suspect the reason that Logitech doesn't use detachable RCA jacks for it's speakers is because they don't want you to connect to other speakers. Given the choice with another manufacturer with detachable speakers with comparable quality and price, I would go for the latter. There may be technical reasons though but a put off for me. The wires could be longer too. I had to settle on a spot for the very good 'boomin' sub woofer where I didn't want it. The system is a good one. Plenty of punch with decent mid range. The highs are not bad. I thought they could be a bit brighter but still very good.For the price I don't think you could find a better system this good. The only drawback for me is the length of the wires. It may not be a problem for you and I highly recommend the Z623 system.

So I was in search of a stereo system that was not the size of a house, yet still delivered powerful bass. I listen to lots of Hip Hop and own a pair of Dre Beats so I am a little serious about my bass.I did some research, read reviews and compared this system with lots of others and the Z623 was the right system for a decent price. As soon as it arrived I plugged in my iPod and searched for a song that I could really test the limits of the bass and not only was the bass very clean, it shook the house and vibrated any loose hinges on the doors in the other rooms.Part of me feels like I won't get to use this system the way I want to because of my neighbors. Oh well, I still Love it. It also looks a lot nicer in person. It exceeded my expectations.

These speakers sound great. Replacing a small inexpensive set of ten year old Altec Lansing 2.1 speakers that I have been very happy with but were losing there sound quality when turned up (no surprise there). The Z623's can be turned up very loud, the sound is clear, I'm hearing much more than I used to. If you are replacing a 2.0 system or upgrading from an older 2.1 sys. I think you will be very happy with this choice. The cord length seems to be the main complaint people have, by the time the cord goes to the back of your desk and down to the floor you have about three to four feet left. The more I listen the more I like them. The thing to remember is, if you haven't had new speakers in awhile almost anything is going to sound better, the technology has improved so they can get more sound out of relatively small speakers. The satellite boxes are 7 1/2" high by 4 1/2" wide, the sub woofer is 11x12x9 h/w/d. I couldn't decide between these and the Z523's and opted for the 623's for the extra wattage, for those occasions when I want to turn it up. I buy Logitech whenever possible, mice, keyboards etc. because they work well and am always happy with their quality. My brother in law has a set of Z5500's, he turns them up till the hair stands up on my arms. So with free shipping and the price lowered to $107.99 the Z623's are a good deal.

I bought these speakers used on Amazon for 90 bucks. They came as if they were new. The sound quality is great and the bass is heavy and shakes my room. You can also turn it down if you'd like. This speaker is by far the best one I got. Its a bit pricy, but totally worth spending on. The sound quality is great and the base, OH THE BASE, is AMAZING!!! I recommend this for anyone that wants to bow everyone away

These speakers sound really good, but every time I try a new pair on the PC I like to compare it to speakers I purchased over 10 years ago that I still use full-time (Creative Labs FPS2000 5-Piece Computer Speakers). When I purchased the Creative Labs/Cambridge Soundworks set, it was around $125 at the time. For comparative purposes, I only used two of the speakers and the subwoofer from the aforementioned set, and while playing various types of music I switched between the old speakers and these speakers from Logitech. While the Creative Labs set has substantially less power according to the specs, incredibly, the sound is so much clearer and deeper than this set is.I am completely spoiled by my old set. If you purchase this product, you'll probably be quite pleased by the sound. It is, for the most part, better than other sets I have tried lately that are selling around this price point. But personally, when I flip back and forth between this set and my old set, it just doesn't compare. The subwoofer sounds great on this set, but the left and right speakers both have a somewhat flat, tin-like sound to them no matter how I adjusted levels on these speakers or the computer. I had similar results while testing these with my Droid and with my PS3. Most people would think I were crazy if they heard these speakers without comparing them, but if I could flip back and forth between the sets for you, you would notice exactly what I am talking about.On a more positive note, the subwoofer performance on this set is quite nice. I also like the fact that these speakers have an input jack, a headphone jack, and the volume and bass control knobs all on the right speaker.Oh, Logitech, you are often SO CLOSE to perfection! But I just can't give you 5 stars this time when I compare my 10-year old speakers that cost close to the same as these do currently. I still love you though.

I recently transitioned into an apartment complex, and feeling dissatisfied with my current laptop speakers and their associated configuration, I decided that it was time to upgrade the speakers in order to amplify the sound. Most of the time, the apartment complex is extremely quiet, so I wanted something that I could really crank up the volume on! As far as installation is concerned, it was very easy, and only consumed about five minutes of my precious time. If I'm blind and I can do it without reading a manual, I can guarantee that everyone can obtain the same results. The only thing that I do not fully understand regarding this system is the fact that a physical headphone jack does not exist on the speaker, allowing you to plug in a set directly. These speakers sound great, but I will be testing them out more as time permits!! If you are on a budget, I would recommend these. In my opinion, nothing can beat the sound quality of a Bose system, which I have as well.

Bought these speakers after a couple weeks of searching online. The sub was bigger than what I though it would be. The speaker units have some weight to them so I don't knock them over like my older 2.1 setup. The bass is phenomenal, rattled the windows in my room and the sound from the speakers are excellent. The bass is adjustable so you can turn it down if you want; but then why would you be looking at 2.1 setup. They are an excellent buy. If you are in the market for a nice 2.1 setup I would advise getting these.

Completely dead when we got them. No sound. Called Logitech and they confirmed they where dead (making loud screeching noises). They said they would have to wait for the speakers to get back to them before shipping out new ones. They said it would take 7-10 days for them to receive and process the speakers, and another 5-7 days before replacements would arrive "if" they determined they where faulty. So in total, not counting weekend shipping delays, I have to wait 12-17 days.Heard great things about these speakers. Did a lot of research and a lot of reviews said these where powerful and clear sounding. But I also found a lot of reviews claiming DOA equipment.

I read a lot of reviews on various speakers with my main goal set on buying a deep, clean sounding sub-woofer. I read about the lack of mid-range sound being the biggest negative on these well priced speakers and they were spot on. I'm not very technical about sound as long as the sub-woofer doesn't rattle or distort and the treble not crackly or tinny. I listen to a lot of band demos and underground cd-r's recorded from tapes so obviously I do not mind if the sound is a bit off. Many of the reviewers on Amazon are very technical audiophiles and it's hard to trust someone that says these speakers are horrible because they are listening to mostly Classical music. If you like bass heavy/electronic music from hip hop to Dub-step to jazz to trip hop, you will like these speakers. They really should have added a treble controller but no, so you have to manually adjust the bass knob to compensate.All in all I'm very happy with the clarity of the bass and the 2 speakers for under $100 but the bass does tend to drown out a lot of the treble and midrange sound so you do have to adjust the settings (bass knob) quite a bit depending on the music. The shortness of the wires on the 2 speakers is a bit of a problem but not much and the extra jacks on the speakers are really convenient for your iPod, headphones, etc.

I've had these speakers for about a week and the first time I used them I only had the volume up half way and the sattelite speakers started to distort. It was a real shame considering the bass does an amazing job but unfortunately the bass overpowers the sattelite speakers causing them to distort whenever the bass hits. preparing to return them and now deciding on the Eagle Tech Arion 140W speakers or the Sony SRS DB-500 speakers. This is the first time Logitech has ever let me down. I wouldnt reccomend these unless you have a high end sound card or else they'll distort just like mine did if your just using them in a normal labtop or ipod, mp3, etc.

Well lets start here, i used to own the bose comp. 2.1 speakers (w/ sub). I sold those due to money. I got on my feet again so i was able to get new things again and decided to try these babies out. They about same price as bose. They sound great! not AS clear as bose, but dont let that not buy them. the bass is so much deaper and thumps more than the bose did. of course like any speakers, they thumo load when volume low to mid. once u crank them up, theres no wow. but still good speakers. The only reason i would rather go for bose if i cud chose again wud be the size. the speakers are really big and dont look great on a desk at all. the sub box is huge too but hey, thats how you get that thump!

Im listening to these speakers as i write this review and i can tell you they sound better and better every time i listen to them. I bought these because i was sick of listening to my comp speakers. My brother has the soundsticks II, and these are by far better.I don't know much about the highs and lows and everything, but these speakers definitely match the clarity of the soundsticks and at the same time provide a ton of power and bass. I have discovered music that i hated before but i now listen to because these speakers just make everything sound incredible!! Many of you are probably also trying to decide between these and the z-2300's. I chose these because first of all they don't have that cheap controller that so many people have said breaks, and second (this is probably more of a mental thing) but i didn't really want to buy an expensive speaker system that has been sitting in a warehouse for 7 years. Also, i know everyone says this, but the cords for these are seriously short. If your thinking of putting the base 6+ feet from your computer, you should think about whether or not the cords will reach.Overall i would say that these speakers will blow you away if your upgrading from comp speakers and will match or beat any similarly priced 2.1 speaker system.

These speakers are phenominal! I just purchased them from Amazon.com 2 days ago and I'm very impressed. In my previous setup I had my stereo reciever hooked up to my computer with an old pair of early 70's vintage Sansui speakers. My wife was getting a little testy about all the room the setup was taking. So in order to appease her. I told her that if I could find a decent 2.1 set of speakers I would move the old system to the basement. I saw these on Amazon and read all of the reviews along with other comparibly priced speakers and decided to give them a try. It took me approximately five minutes to set them up directly to the computers sound card. I sampled a few albums, I had recently transferred from Vinyl LP's and WOW!. The sound was amazing. If you love hard rock as I do you will really appreciate these speakers. Yes, they are plastic casings but these speakers are sturdily built and I expect many years of enjoyment from them. To my wifes chagrin these speakers thump as well as my old much larger setup. I am not an audio snob but I know what I like and doubt these speakers can be topped for the money I paid. I've tried them out on every thing from Allagock to Led Zepplin and they ROCK!

I wasn't skeptical buying this item because of all the fantastic reviews that it receives on amazon, but I was somewhat curious as to how Logitech would fare against some of the other high quality brands who specialize in audio products. I must say this is as good as any of the high quality products at 2 or 3 times the price point. The base is fantastic, and really surprised me the most out of everything this set has to offer. I was able to get in at an amazing price point and also got the bluetooth adapter, and my room has been transformed by this setup. Totally recommended this to anyone looking for a set for playing video games or just as a simple upgrade to their tv speakers.

I was compelled to take time to write this... I am not an audiophile but if you hear this you will surely become one.Don't go by the looks. They may look funny but they are packed with power, especially the .1 (bass) does all the wonders--shouldn't it be renamed "1.2"? ;)

This is not a high end piece of audio gear. Once I let go of the idea that "THX approved" means anything tangible, I enjoyed these speakers for what they are: decent mid-priced computer speakers that more than get the job done for what they're designed for.Movies:room filling sound with surprising detail. Dialogue was crisp and bass was powerful.Music-another story although it all depends what you're listening to. I'm into jazz and world jazz/pop and classical-pretty high end recordings and next to my studio monitors it was a joke. But the more I listened, the more I started to be surprised by the amount of detail in the high end, even if it was pretty trebly and a bit tinny. The bass was OK as I could select the amount I needed for the material, ie more for rock less for jazz or classical. As far as mids go, this is where speakers live or die. I'm afraid these little brutes are not up to the task-mids are sorely lacking in subtlety and warmth, in fact they're hardly there. But that is not what one sould expect from such utilitarian units as these.I'm not a gamer but I think these will enhance the budget conscious gamer's experience, especially with regards to the sub woofer which is really pretty powerfulMy biggest complaint is this unit would really have benefited from a treble control as well as its convenient bass knob.My main purpose for getting these was to listen to my music mixes over computer speakers which are increasingly how people listen to their music. As such, it serves my needs quite well. And overall, they are far more musical than I had first thought.NOTE: this unit died about a month ago-just stopped working. I hadn't used it very much either, so I would take this caveat into consideration-they might fry early.

I have never had a "decent" set of speakers before, so I have little grounds for comparison. That being said, I love these speakers. The bass is floor rattling, and the high and mid sound quality seems excellent. They look great with my black monitor and keyboard, and the satellite speakers are just the right size. The headphone and aux in jacks on the right satellite are really useful too. My only complaint is that the cord from the back of my tower to the sub is shorter than I'd like, so be aware of that. That's literally my only complaint at this point (2 weeks in.) I am really enjoying these so far, highly recommended.

Purchased for our son for Christmas. He can hook it up to his lap top, tv or ipod. He plans on using in his dorm room. He'll probably get written up by his RA because it can really crank out the music and sounds TERRIFIC!!!! We are thinking of getting one for ourselves to replace our old Sony stereo. Great system!

I absolutely love these speakers. Though they might not look it from their size, they are incredibly loud, and the clarity of sound is maintained even at the loudest setting. The quality of the sound is good, though lacks a little in the mid-range. However, the speakers make up for it with their fantastic overall quality and sound.The only downside I can possibly think of is the shortness of the chords. They are just long enough for my purposes, but for anyone wishing to spread the speakers out more than 5-6 feet from one another you will not be able to.Overall: GREAT product, definitely love them.

I got this product on Friday 17th. I haven't tested it fully as yet but so far I am impressed. From what I am hearing the claimed 200 watt output is not continuous and so the predecessor (z-2300) is louder. From my experience so far all I can say is great performance for price.Pros:powerful bassloud enough for a dorm partyeasy to set upgreat design (in my opinion)sturdy rubber feet for sub + satelliteslong enough 3.5mm audio input cablelong enough satellite wires for a desktop setupsub has solid enough construction (the box)awesome volume and even more awesome bass knobs (the bass knob locks into place at halfway)Cons:the tweeters are a little bit too high or should I say too much (adjust equalizer to fix)an odor comes from the subwoofer when the volume and bass knobs are close to 100% (I think it's the amp)the bass doesn't respond quickly enough to rapidly changing bass frequencies.I will be posting comprehensive videos soon. These speakers are just..WOW!!! They are definitely worth the money. I just want to say one thing to those who got these speakers DOA (dead on arrival). Do not rate them as 1 star. If they came DOA this does not mean that the speakers are bad it's just that maybe UPS dropped the package or w.e speakers are still good, If you gonna complain do it but dont provide false info to other buyers. Speakers are good but they just happened to come DOA. Get a refund and rate them again....

I use these speakers for everything! Music, movies, games, porn (just kidding)... just about everything. These speakers do it all, and they do it without having to worry about them suddenly "blowing out". I would have to blow my own ear drums out before these babies go!Setup was quick and hassle-free. I hear the same sound no matter where I go in my room, and the sub is just awesome. I can see these speakers lasting a long time. After getting these speakers I wouldn't recommend anything else. Any questions, just ask!

I am using this speaker system in my home office connected to a MacBook Pro. I use FiiO DAC to bypass the computer's soundcard while I listen to Rhapsody. the sound is significantly improved through the DAC and paired with this LogicTech system, I am pleased with the warmth and depth of the sound. I upgraded to this from a JBL II Creature system, which my kids have now hooked up to their xbox and are very happy with the sound. the Logictech is a huge step up from the Creature. the cords are plenty long enough for a standard office set up.

I just received it. I thought I could ignore the fact that it doesnt have a treble adjuster, but I was wrong! If Im paying $100 dollars, I want my damn treble adjusters. The subwoofer sounds great! Its powerful, smooth, and has a high quality sound. Only if I had a treble adjuster. I bought it and then realized that I can't enjoy my house music without the treble!. If i listened to some other type of music like rock, hip hop, pop, or something based on voices instead of house where you need all the elements than i wouldnt bother. But for the money and for the quality...they should have had the treble.

So I've spent the past three days attempting to find something that I don't like about these speakers. I've played every kind of music that I own (including spoken-word stuff), I've streamed video, I've streamed audio, I've checked nearly every single thing that I can consider. And yet, I'm still at the same place I was when I received them--they're the best computer speakers I've ever owned.Pros:1. Excellent controls: the big, easy-to-use knobs that regulate both the volume and the bass intensity are easy to use and very precise.2. THX: the sound is very well-rounded, with crisp highs and lows that SOUND and don't just boom.3. Responsive: when I've owned other computer speakers, there always seemed to be a delay from the main speakers to the subwoofer. No such problem here. The sound is very precise and clear regardless of music type.4. Small blueprint: for the volume and amount of sound that you get from these, they don't take up much space at all.Cons:1. One of the desktop speakers put out a bit of hot air from around the control knobs...it's not that big of a deal, but it is noticeable.2. The subwoofer is the primary speaker for most ports, which means that you can't really place it flat against a wall. And one of the speaker cords is a bit thick, so I can see how cord-invisible installation might be an issue.And that's it. If you think the cons are minor, you're right. I'm not sure that I'd race out and replace one of my home theater systems with these if only because they're 2.1. But if you have a small space or don't really want a full-scale system, you'll probably love these even for televisions. For computers, however, they're fantastic. Highly recommended.

ive been using the dell 425 2.1 computer speakers for 5 years and i was pretty satisfied with it.but i wanted to up grade to something better.so when i saw & read about this logitech z623 i was impressed with the spects,and it looks great too.not to mention it is thx certified and pumps out a whopping 200 watts (which is very powerful for computer speakers).so when i finally purchased it i was very impressed with the sound and the bass was absolutely awesome.

These speakers are good overall...BUT!...The two satellite speakers are VERY treble-y sounding. Yes there is a subwoofer but I personally dislike like the way the satellites sound because the satellites themselves lack depth in terms of sound quality. When you start turning up the volume the satellites get distortion-y very easily. Also it feels like they should have more powerThe subwoofer is good as well. I also feel like there should've been more power because you need to turn the volume up like a third of the way to really feel those low tones!If you're not obsessed with getting every sound of your music perfect, like me, then these are perfect for you...BUT!The Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 speakers are definitely better than these in terms of sound quality!! =)

I bought a logiteh 5.1 speaker set probably 6 years ago, and this 2.1 set up blows those out of the water. You can feel the quality when you pick up the individual speakers and the subwoofer. Weight usually means quality in a speaker, and definetly shows with these. They aren't back breakingly heavy, but have some weight to them. They sound amazing! I turned them on 5 minutes ago and Rush has never sounded so good on my computer. Well done, Logitech.
