I have never wrote a review for anything because I don't care enough about anything I purchase/have never been so moved by a product to write any review. However, these speakers wow, I listen to a lot of metalcore, post hardcore, and house music and these make it come alive. I am using them as computer speakers, but am considering buying a second pair for my flat screen tv they are so good. Bass wise, the most important to me, is RIGHT ON POINT. Turn it up all the way and FEEL IT. I played it for some friends and they couldn't believe the bass and sound, my DJ friend was in envy they sounded better than his 500$ monitors. Say what you will, I stand by these.

I was all ready to spend up to five hundred dollars to buy Bose or Cambridge Works. I studied all the online reviews. A lot of people who seemed serious recommended the Logitech Z-2300 as being just as good. So I decided to buy that one since it is so much cheaper, but it seemed to be discontinued, and Amazon said that the Logitech Z623 is its "successor". One of my requirements is the low end frequencies. I like pipe organ music, and the pipe organ plays down to the bottom of human hearing. An eight foot C is about 65 Hz, so the sixteen foot is about 33 Hz and the 32 foot is about 16 Hz. Logitech advertises that the Z263 goes down to 31 Hz, the Cambridge is similar, and Bose does not release the information. So I bought the Z623 on sale from Best Buy and hooked it up.There is a lot of talk in reviews about different ranges of hearing, and others talk about personal taste, but I use the "closed eyes" test. I listen to classical music, not artificial music, and I close my eyes and ask myself if it sounds as though an instrument is in the room with me. Does it sound as though there is a piano there, or a string quartet, or a pipe organ in the room with me?I started with Bach's Passacaglia in C minor. It sounded to me as if I were in a recital hall with a pipe organ. I tried Sibelius Fifth Symphony, Rachmaninoff piano music, Brahms piano music, and various Mozart chamber music. I tried Mars by Holst, and piano concerti by Brahms and Rachmaninoff. I also tried vocal music by Palestrina and Josquin. When I close my eyes, I am unable to tell that I am listening to an IMac computer and speakers instead of live musicians. Some orchestral music sounds thin, but other recordings sound perfect, so I believe it is the recording that is at fault (or the compressed version on my computer) instead of the speakers. I haven't done a blind test, but from what I perceive, I don't think I could tell the difference between piano music on these speakers and the seven foot grand piano in my living room. In fact, when I opened my eyes after listening, I was always surprised by the desk, computer, and speakers sitting in front of me.

They have good bass good mids and good highs. The right speaker popped at about half volume. It doesn't sound good anymore from that speaker. I've had 2 sets of these. The first one the right speaker popped and this one the right speaker popped. I like them but don't over do them.

Used for listening to internet radio (pandora). Sounds great. Very easy to install. Worked right out of the box with no adjustments needed. Very clear. No distortion on the subwoofer at medium volumes.

I received this speaker set as a free warranty replacement to my 1-year-old z-2300 from Logitech because the z-2300's are a discontinued item and these speakers are the successors (my 2300's had a blown speaker and the controller was dead too).Simply put, these speakers are not successors to the z-2300's. The subwoofer on the 2300 set is much superior (and 2 inches larger), the speakers on the 2300s were from a well-known speaker company, whereas those on the 623's are from unknowns. The 2300s were a bit louder, however I will acknowledge the 623's sound a bit clearer at high volume.Personally, I don't like the design of the 623's, the speakers are clunky, they are addly shaped (neither an oval nor a rectangle), the controls are all on the right speaker.However one thing I do like is that the woofer has direct inputs for a standarad 3.5mm plug and the audio RCA connection, so I have my laptop connected via 3.5mm and my xbox via RCA.If you want a very in-depth analysis of the z2300 vs z623 (or just general info on the components in the 623) read more here: [...]Overall, I can't complain. These speakers are good, but nowhere near compared my old z2300's. I have owned these speakers for almost a year now. They are the best speakers in the price-range that have an output that is very clear and crisp. I am more than satisfied with these speakers and would recommend them for usage coupled with a computer.

I'm delighted with this small but effective speaker set. I use it for the "kitchen radio", but tote it around for occasional presentations with a laptop. No problem controlling the bass, which seems to be overpowered for my tastes. Good, durable enclosures bode well for long-lasting appearance.

Bought these for my sons dorm a few months back.Really nice sound with great bass. He really loves them.Maybe a bit on the loud side for a high school dorm room, but he keeps it low...for the most part I'm told.So, nothing more to say...oh but wait...there is.They just stopped working after about 6 months.My son is not always the gentlest person with his things, but still, I was a bit ticked off.I contacted Logitech and they were fantastic.They sent me a prepaid label to return them and shipped out a brand new set of speakers.No questions asked.Not repaired, not refurbished...brand spankin' new.Hopefully, that was a fluke and these last longer than 6 months.Thanks Logitech.

These speakers have clarity and a big bass. sound. For the price, they far exceeded our expectations. It's great to be able to plug the ipod in directly. Great speakers at a super great price!

these speakers get so loud. i use them to play music from my zune im listening to fire house right now from my laptop. if you love loud music these are for you. ive bought cheaper sets ive blown up and had to take back to the store.

wow and double wow is all i can say. i have been shopping for several months looking for a set of speakers for my desktop. i was torn between bose and logitech. I had always wanted a pair of bose speakers but did not want to pay the price. i decided on the logitech z623, and i am definitly not disappointed! In fact, i am very happy with my choice and could not be more pleased! the sound is crisp, clear. the bass is well, bass! the set up was a breeze, it took just minutes. the sound was incredible! i am listening to my music as if i have never heard it before! the sound is clear, even when turned 90% up. for the money one would spend in this range, the quality is superb!!! Logitech has done it again!! i would definitely recommend these speakers!

I recently put together a new gaming pc and my beloved 2.1 speakers that I have had for 15 years finally gave up the ghost. My build budget was already spent on buying the pc components, but was able to scrounge together $100 for some new speakers. After doing some research I kept reading over and over again how good these Z623 speakers are. But they are $150, a little out of my reach. So I come to Amazon and what do ya know, they are on sale for $104. I bought them on the spot.And I can not believe how good they sound. I first went to youtube to listen to a trance jumpstyle song. The bass made my toes tingle. Then I put in Aliens (been wanting to watch it again to prepare for Prometheus) and every sound was crisp and clear. I did have to turn the bass down a bit.Overall, I can, without any reservations, recommend these speakers, especially at the low price of $104.

I have no complaints about these speakers. I finally upgraded from Logitech X-230s and these do not disappoint. The negative reviews are over critical. The highs are CLEAN, would not describe as tinny at all. The mids are lacking, but that is the way they process the sound. ANY computer is capable of EQ adjustments, so if you like your music to sound terrible you can bump up the mids if that's your thing. I was surprised that the satellites have 3 inch drivers easily capable of producing clean mids. I expect these to be reliable like all of my other logitech products. And the base...WOW! These little speakers have some punch. These are nearly impossible to distort too. I am very critical about sound, and these fully meet my expectations especially at this price point. I highly recommend if you enjoy music and movies to sound clean and precise...and LOUD!

This speaker system didn't even work when I got it.The packaging for the speakers was nice and it was not damaged when I got it, but as I said the speakers does not work :(I tried several things and I have contacted Logitech and they cant help me.

I bought this system last year for my dorm room and it was a great product for the first couple months. Me and my roommate both had the speakers and both of our left speakers now don't work. Also in addition to the left speaker not working, the power button starts to lose connection and has issues turning on without static.

I was visiting my sister in NC this summer and heard these speakers. I could not believe the clarity and quality of sound in such a compact and mobile system ! I have tested the sound quality using YouTube THX sound tests, and wow !!!!Very impressive !!

Just got these bad boys today. Hooked them up turned on a Foreigner concert on netflix and wow! What a sound diffrence. The price is great. Cable for mp3 player connection could be longer. But otherwise best stereo I ever got. Never had a THX before. Oh and I live in an apartment so it really bangs. Especially on Pandora's Bass 305.

So I've owned these speakers for a little over a year. Today I was using them waay, way too loudly and the speakers blew out. I contacted customer support and they are replacing my set completely free of charge. The customer service operator did not hassle me one bit and was nothing but helpful; so helpful in fact that I decided to write a review because of it.Excellent product, even better customer service. A+

I'm a pretty average consumer when it comes to choosing speakers. I own several pairs mid range headphones and I've made a custom audio amplifier before. I've had the Z623 for more than half a year now. My roommate has the predecessor of Z623 and both speakers sound just as good to me. I use it with my desktop and never had the need to turn the volume over 1/3 of the max. The bass sounds excellent for all occasions in my opinion, whether I'm watching a movie, playing games, or simply listening to music. The cables are long enough for my setup. The satellite speakers has an audio input so I can also hook up my phone directly to play the music. The price might be a little high but I purchased it when Logitech had its rebate program. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the purchase.However, I do have one problem with the device, which could be a deal breaker for some people. It might just be a defect but the headphone jack (audio out) on my satellite speakers has connections issues. When I plug in my headphones into the jack, it would sound really muffled. It feels like the about 60~70% of the sound just gets blocked off. To fix this problem, I have to wiggle my headphone jack around a little bit until the connection is back to normal (you can clearly hear the difference). Even at the normal state, it's still softer than I would have expected. I found out about this about 2 months into usage but did not want to go through the hassle of shipping it back to Logitech. Now that I'm living by myself, I don't use headphones that much at home anymore so it's not a problem for me. Once again, this could just be an unfortunate defect but this product is still a 4.5 star for me.

I USE THIS MINI SPEAKERS FOR MY COMPUTER AND TV. IT IS AWSOME SOUNDS AND BASE. VERY EASY TO SET UP AND YOU CAN NOT BELIEVE IT HAS 200W. I WILL RECOMMEND TO EVERYONE, ALSO HAS A GREAT PRICE. YOU CAN NOT BEAT IT.

I purchased the Logitech Speaker System Z623 to go along with with my new purchase of the Samsung UN40EH6000 just to give the set a bit of sound boost. For me it worked out great, that little bit of added bass and a little more rounded on the high notes. It's not fancy but for only a 100 bucks It's perfect. Logitech does a a really nice job. I would recommend this.PS: Very easy to hook up took me about 20 minuets and only because I had to unpack it before I could install.

Reasonable price. The subwoofer is a little on the large side.I've had no issues since I bought it; I'm no audiophile but the sound was very rich and even my Sennheiser headphones don't seem to sound as good.

I put off buying these speakers for months, reminding myself that I already have computer speakers. I finally 'pulled the trigger,' and man, I am so glad I did. The sound is clean, accurate, and powerful enough for any desktop situation. They sound so good I had to get the upgrade subscription to Pandora. I must say that's a real nice combination - Pandora One + Z623's.These speakers would be a nice upgrade to any typical TV's sound system. If you can't do the 'home theater' thing, but you want better sound than you get from the TV, the Z623 would be a nice option.

These speakers are amazing. I actually upgraded or you can say "downgraded" from a 5.1 system from Logitech and don't regret it one bit. The sound quality is amazing and the bass is deep and smooth. There is no sound deterioration from putting up the volume to max, but I wouldn't recommend it. These things are loud! The satellite speaker design could be better and that's about it for cons.

I was surprised by how much bigger the z623 subwoofer is, but wow - awesome sound (markedly better than z523), and these things can get LOUD. They were able to drown out my friend's Bose 2.1 companion speakers, and they sounded just as good.If you can get these on sale, I'd say they're the best value in their price range.

It used to be, about 15 to 20 years ago, that you'd have to spend $1,000 + to get this good of sound. Great technology. You should really check these out before you consider spending an unnecessary fortune on a sound system.

I just hooked these up and must agree with the positive raving reviews. Very very nice sound for 2.1 200 watt THX system for the desktop; great full range sounds that really pumps it out. I got these on a good sale price but notice the price has went up since my order. I have seen it go up and down so I waited it out before my purchase, which I recommend. If you can get them for under one hundred you got yourself a nice treat.

Ordered the speakers as a gift. When I finally got to see them, the whole set is a lot bigger and more impressive than I had imagined.Excellent build quality. The base is just incredible and the sound from the two speakers is crisp and clear. It can cater to wide variety of genres. Totally worth the price!

This review is on the Logitech Speaker System Z623. I wasn't sure what to expect, I just knew that it was an upgrade from my two old Labtec speakers and I didn't want to spend $300.00 for Bose. It came in the day that my account showed it would. The speakers and subwoofer were nicely packaged and easy to open, unwrap, and plug in. With the volume halfway I played a song I liked. I decided to then turn the subwoofer knob full and it produced a nice thumping that wasn't to overpowering, but just right for someone like me who doesn't want to disturb his neighbors. The sound produced from the speakers are absolutely incredible. They give off the right tuned frequency for highs and mids and truly are the best speakers that I've ever experienced outside of a theater. I am listening to them now as I type this out. I am amazed and very satisfied with this. I don't review on much, but when shopping for speakers there were so many to choose from that I turned to the reviews to help me make a choice, and I know most shoppers do. So get these if they're in your price range.

I've had these for a month or so. When I unpacked them I was impressed with the quality - they felt good and solid. When I hooked them up to my computer, I play a lot of music and watch videos, so I was eager to hear them and be blown away. The first songs had so much treble I hated them, big disappointment with no tone knob to adjust. But being very lazy I left them hooked up rather than send them back and am I glad. After a few days of breaking in they started sounding right and now they kill, I can run them wide open or down to a whisper and they sound great.So give them a chance to break in, good speakers have to loosen up then they'll last forever. The sub is just right for the system, I'd buy it again if something happened to mine.Just finished listening to 10 Years After : Choo Choo Mama!! These are great for vinyl records.

I bought these speakers to use at work. We play music pretty loud and frequent. They replaced my old Logitech Z-4 speakers that stopped working.Overall the speakers sounded better than I imagined. The bass doesn't rattle, the mid tones have depth and the high notes don't blow out and distort. I tried different types of music from hip hop, rock and electronica and they all sound terrific with the Z623. The sound engineers did a a great job making these sound premium.However, the industrial design team did a horrible job with this set. Sitting next to my Mac, they look horrid and dated. When I went to plug my Senneheiser headphones into the jack, it won't stay plugged in! Part of it is due to the fact that the jack is recessed into the speakers, not letting my headphones stay plugged into the speaker when I want to listen to music to myself. The only thing about the design that is working for the speaker is the controls are easy to get to and adjust.

This is the first aftermarket set of PC speakers I've purchased. I have had a Dell PC for several years and just used the basic speakers that came with that system. I recently purchased a very high end gaming PC (although not from Dell) and wanted an upgrade in speaker quality. I have bought dozens of items through Amazon and never had to return anything until now. The speakers appeared to be well packed and there was no damage to the box but they were defective non the less. The set up is quite easy but just to be sure I called Logitech support and after 10 minutes with a very helpfull tech support lady verifying that they were installed correctly, and that my new PC was configured correctly, she agreed that the speakers must be defective. I was a little unsure how to do a return through Amazon but was very pleasantly surprised at the ease of the whole process. In fact, I got a replacement set of speakers one day after notifying Amazon of the need to return the defective set. Talk about great customer service! So now I have a new set of speakers and have been putting them through the paces playing all types music at various volume levels. I never really used my PC to play music, instead prefering my "old school" CD player running to a pair of B&W 705 bookshelf speakers which are amazingly nice speakers BTW. I have to say these Logitech speakers are very good and I'm quite happy with the purchase. Definately recommended. The only "complaint" is minor but the RCA cable from the left speaker was a couple feet too short to reach the subwoofer where I chose to put it and I had to get a male-to-male connector and use a short extension cable to reach. Not a big deal really.

Called Logitech and they sent me a return label and I mailed them back today...will edit the review when the new ones arrive. They have excellent support. One star for the product...so far....five stars for Logitech's technical support.Received the replacement and it works fine. My only critcism is the lack of a remote control. My LG HDTV has only an optical audio output so I got a converterFiiO D3 Digital to Analog Audio Converter With Micca 6ft Optical Toslink Cable - 192kHz/24bit Optical and Coaxial DACMy cable box remote only works the tv speakers so I have to get up to change the sound. I'd like to know if there is a way to control the sound through the cable box with the remote control from the HDTV or the cable remote. I'd appreciate any feedback on this problem.

Got my from Staples for $119.99 + tax + free gift. I heard they can go as low as $74 every other month just search around, but I needed now. There are clear bass, easy to setup etc. This is an excellent 2.1 speaker/subwoofer system for Bass or Rap, tested Illegal Bass video via YouTube it was awesome. But, if you play on other music, Dance music eg) Eurodance, trance, house, rave, etc..or today's typical American Pop music not much improvements, lower ends speaker system might do the same job, save your money. However if you a Rap music Lovers, this is your best choice for prices, recommended.

Bought this at local Media Markt store in the Netherlands. Was the best sounding speaker in the selection they had. Very happy with the sound. My on off switch has a problem though. If you touch it sometimes it crackles. I might take it back for an exchange. Seriously good sound for the price though...

GREAT product! Replaced a pair of Bose Companion 2 speakers. Absolutely no comparison! MUCH louder and GREAT bass with the subwoofer (the Bose system had zero bass). I'd need about 20 Bose speakers to compare to these! I used to have a 5.1 Logitech system but too many wires. This is a great repalcement at a much lower price. I will continue to annoy the wife with these speakers indefinitely. Rock on, France!

As I turn the volume knob up the sound level goes up and down along with the sound dominance going back and forth between the two speakers. When I get to max volume the sound drops out.
