this USB is expensive, and don't work for make online streaming, the flash player or flash platform don't recognize, the quality and the speed are regular! the technical support TERRIBLE, I write for support and not body answer!bad product for the price.

Four out of four recordings (ranging from 10 minutes to 2 hours) exhibited audio and video being out of sync. Going to return this product today and begin looking for a better one on the market.

I have been able to record video off my Tivo (unexpected bonus), but I have not yet used it for family video (still hunting down camcorder parts). I will update this when I have started digitally archiving the family video tapes.

I tried many similar products on Windows platform.Never found one that works.This one is very simple but works flawlessly.

It works wonderfully. Lag almost never happens and when it does it's just minor. I've made countless game videos for almost a year now and I still am.

I installed the software on two Win 7 machines and it refused to work on both of them. The website was not much help so I'm returning the product.

This product is simple and easy to use. Even after not using it for a year I easily remembered how to utilize it. Hooks up nicely to old camcorders or VCR's (for old vhs tapes) and into your computer for easy digitizing. Very versatle. You can capture video from any source with this. Works with Mac, PC, ipod, iphone.

I bought this to covert old 8mm video and make movie files on the computer. I had serious trouble loading the driver onto windows 7 and the company could not figure out the problem. After days of tweaking, I finally got the driver to load. It seems to work well now! I give it a 3 stars because of the driver problem.

I bought this to transfer old VHS tapes to digital format on my iMAC and then upload them to the web. It does a fantastic job and is so easy to use. So far, I am very pleased with this purchase. Great product at a good price.

I had a number of vhs recordings I needed to transfer to a digital format and the Elgato has worked beautifully. One caveat is that it will drop frames on a computer with insufficient resources, so be sure you have a computer with sufficient RAM and processing power.

It couldn't be easier than this to convert all your video tapes to digital. Very straightforward to use with a Mac.

Attached to my Mac, I transferred hours and hours of home video to digital, and uplaoded easily to YouTube. Easy to use, good quality construction and quality video transfer. Highly recommend.

I purchased the Elgato Video Capture Device 10020840 in order to save my old family VHF tapes to my Mac computer. I have read how easy it is and on that strength bought it and followed the instructions (I've learned to do that from bad past experiences of NOT following instructions) to install the software, plugged in the hardware and had the VHF tape playing on my TV ..... but 'no signal' was all I got. I could even store my "movie" on iTunes or anywhere I wanted to but it was just a blank.What if anything have I done wrong? What is this eyeTV thing? Do I need that?Frustraded Ron Lehman.

Great tool and product. Very easy to use and understand. I haven't experienced any of the missed frames that some had claimed. Not sure why I didn't get this a long time ago.

I had been limping along for several years with a really old analog to digital converter. It was buggy and only worked sometimes.The Elgato device was snap to set up and the tools bring the video in and put it right in a format that iMovie or iTunes can use.Great value for the capabilities.

This is one product that works as easily as advertised. I was skeptical at first because of previous purchases which over-hyped their simplicity. I need a product to be extremely user-friendly or I end up just tossing it into a drawer. Well, let me say, Elgato (which means "the cat" in Spanish) is one cool cat of a product. I popped in the program disc; it installed with no problems; I opened up the program; then I connected the red, white and yellow wires from my vcr to my laptop; I popped in an old vhs tape; hit play and bam! There it was playing on my laptop. I fast forwarded to the section I wanted to record and in minutes I had it on my hard drive. I easily edited it with I-Movie and that's it! That's it! Now, instead of paying hundreds of dollars for a professional to transfer my old tapes to dvd, I can do it all for free AND its fun. Whoever created this El Gato Video Capture deserves to be licked by hundreds of gatos (cats). Yes, I'm a cat lover. Anyway, this is a very cool product.

I've been another video Capture cables, but this one is way way better.Interlacing was not an issue with this cable, but don't expect your video qualitywill improve because you are converting to mp4.Good buy.

Nice easy setup on mac book pro. Easily converted files from VHS to computer. It was more trouble from there to convert to DVD format but it worked.

I've had several analog to digital converters in my life and hated them all. This on on the other hand worked - no hassles - even the software is pretty good for capturing, and trimming. Then I edit my video in iMovie.

Can only capture at 30fps at low resolution. I haven't tried the S-Video input yet, but compared to an internal PC capture card (Matrox), this has hopelessly inferior video and audio capture quality

The software specs are for a 2.0 GHz CPU (Windows.) I tried it on a Lenovo X61 laptop, 2 GHz CPU, and it was awful - very jumpy video and audio 5 seconds off.I then tried a much newer Lenovo X201 with 2.1 GHz CPU, and it worked fine. So it's pretty sensitive to relatively small differences in the PC. Both had Windows 7 and a recently new solid state drive.The driver is easy to install from online (newer than enclosed CD). the CD software is very simple - almost nothing to adjust or worry about (if you want that.) Basically, you could train a 7 year old to use the software. Type the movie name, give the duration, start the movie, press Record. It has a very simple edit feature to truncate the movie from the beginning or from the end, just after you record and before you exit.

I think this is the first time I've actually taken the time to write a product review, but here we are. This product does exactly as it says and is EXTREMELY simple to use. Follow on the screen instructions and you're done. I'm very pleased and impressed with this product. I am using it to convert some VHS tapes from my childhood into digital files so I don't have to worry about the tapes breaking each time I watch them. I would recommend this to anyone.

I loved this product. It transferred my videos to my Mac so easily. I used both a vhs player and a camcorder and they both worked great. Very easy to use.
