It is a very good product but I would like to see some kind of simple directions on the use of the product. I hate to use blindly

I was looking for a way to put my aging VHS tapes on to my MAC to edit them with Imovie and this converter did the trick-Easy to use and slick. I was very mad that the Dazzle converter I bought for my PC had no easy to get driver for a Mac-A classic ripoff-This converter works with Mac and PC-

This is the second video capture device I have tried and I'm extremely pleased with the results. I was a little dubious having read some of the negative reviews and so I was pleasantly surprised when the product arrived. Setup is simple and I was pleased with the quality of movies captured. I've tried both NTSC and PAL format VHS videos and both work as advertised. The software allows you to record for a fixed period of time - you can set this to just exceed the length of your video (so you can go away and do something else). After recording is finished you are given the option to "trim" excess bits at the beginning and end of your recording. All recording was done on a Macbook with a 2.4GHz intel processor.

just got my elgato video capture and tried it out.the good:super easy to set upquality of the videos is great, sound as wellvery small so i can bring it to my mom and digitize family videossoftware is super easy to useworks with my macbook proworks even when running on batterythe bad:manual says it records H.264 and MPEG-4.It also says H.264 works only on macs with 2.0GHz Intel core duo and up. However on my 2.4 GHz MBP (2008 version, 7200rpm HD, 4GB ram) it records only in MPEG-4 regardless what i set in preferences. It always does MPEG-4.Therefore only 2 stars. Aside of that it would be 4 or 5 stars.Elgato please update your software because your product is great and a clear winner! But right now it does only half of what it promises.

This product is very easy to use and the results are excellent provided the tapes are in a reasonable shape.I can highly recommend this product for use with Mac computers.C.Vermeulen.

I got this to convert analog video tapes (40+ hours of VHS-C) to digital. It works great with very little loss of video or sound quality. I have recommended it to several people since purchasing it. I'm not really surprised at the quality. All of Elgato's stuff has an Apple feel to it.

I was really excited to receive this product. I have countless VHS tapes that need converting. At first glance, the product seems easy to use. The truth is, its very easy to use! I popped in the software, did a quick installation and I was ready to go. It immediately read my VCR with no problems. If you love watching tv, you can even hook the cable up to your VCR and watch TV on your mac. This is excellent, since you can record your show (manually of course) and port them to your iphone or ipod touch. I strongly recommend this product. It has done exactly as advertised.

I bought this to capture video from old VHS cassettes for transfer to DVD. Worked like a charm right out of the box. Software is simple and easy to use. No dropped frames and the quality is good. I found this also comes in handy for capturing video from my DishDVR to archive or share with others via DVD. Using with a MacBook that's about 9 months old running 10.5.

This product was able to perfectly capture all of our old Hi-8 videos off our old camcorder and put them onto our new Mac. Not a single frame was lost during this time and the videos look better than ever. Product installs quickly and is very intuitive in terms of use. A little pricey for what its worth, but it does its job perfectly.

Elgato video capture does not capture audio well at all. If you don't want any audio, it works fine for video, but the audio importing skips horribly. Don't buy until they work the kinks out. Hey, I've been using Mac audio and video import products since Sound Recorder on a 1985 Mac Plus, and this product is not ready for prime time.
