The Flash is inconvenient for trying to hold the camera steadily with two hands and the battery doesn't last any length of time. Need to have spares and they are costly.

It is a good product. I am adapting to the flash light device, which is of the pop-up type. Pictures have a very good definition.

Compared to my Nikon which I enjoy, this is a great camera, love the video, which is crisp. As previously reported, a glitch with this camera is the battery indicator. While taking video at a wedding the battery indicator showed low, but in reality, the battery was full. So far, no other complaints with this camera, I am enjoying it, and took awesome photos of Christmas lights at night. They turned out great!

Great resolution and telephoto features. Only complaint is the popup flash that is located in the area where we are used to placing our left index finger.

Same issue as stated in other reviews but I thought it had to be corrected already......wrong. when you switch to video mode the battery drains like a sink. The cannon battery lasts longer than the aftermarket brand I bought elsewhere but it still drains fast. The zoom works great and really brings the action up close. For the price it is a good camera but not for video.

The problems with the accumulator aren't fixed till today.You can't make videos above 4:00 minutes with this camera. And canon don't fix this well known problem.

If you are buying this camera for movie mode then don't waste your money. There is a major fault with the battery level indicator when in video mode. The battery indicator will appear and the camera will shut off in video/movie mode but if you eject the battery and start again in photo mode then the battery will show full or near full charge. Canon tried to fix this issue with an updated firmware however I tried this and it did not fix the problem. I would definitely not suggest this camera for anyone interested in video / movies.

The pop up flash is right where you need to put your finger on such a small, thin camera and the flash is very weak. Can't take pictures with moving subjects in low light. The delay between pressing and picture is seconds and the focus doesn't work under this condition in either program or smart modes. Tryed to take pictures of people dancing with absolutely no success. Negative comments on battery life and indicator were true in my experience. When flash is not needed it is a good product. The auto macro is a nice feature and the zoom is good.

Takes great photo's. The camera's body is constructed very well. Nice red color and the cameras zoom is great. The small grip handle in the front of the camera is also a much needed feature for its solid handling.

I gave it 4 stars even though I may eventually go 5. I hold back as 5 means "ultimate perfection". I have not had this long enough to give a solid review but am liking it so far. It is the camera that the SX160 wishes it was. I was dubious of the picture quality at first but have set it to superfine resolution. With the 4 GB card in, I am not concerned with being miserly on the pixel/bit usage. I didn't get this for video, but would use it if and when the need to learn it should strike. Have yet to read the manual on this as it is fairly intuitive, based on previous experience with my old A2000is cam. Thanks, experienced photo hounds, who go way deep on the camera reviews.

I've had this camera a few weeks, and it has surpassed my already high expectations. It is small, yet has a powerful zoom. Has a bunch of nice features like image stabilization and wi-fi. I've taken some truly beautiful pictures in auto mode, and the color and lighting came out perfect. This is a keeper.

Wanted to get something to bridge between my iPhone and DSLR that would also be portable. This fit the bill perfectly, esp seeing that it was on sale. I'm still getting used to the features, but have been able to get extensive use so far. I will suggest buying an extra battery as it can eat up power quick depending on settings. Also, some of the batteries out there will actually hold more of a charge. I got the Wasabi brand with a car charger for real cheap and love it.My only gripe is that the flash will get you the first few times if you're not used to it. It happens to be right where I put one of my fingers to hold the camera. So for the first few days It would get stuck on it trying to come up. I'm fairly used to it now and doesn't bother me really.* UpdateJust wanted to make sure that if you get the camera you apply the latest firmware. That fixes all the video battery problems that you read about in older reviews.

This camera has a ton of features, and the the 20x zoom in that compact form is just magnificent. yet the only issue with is is the battery issue.The battery runs out very fast if you leave the GPS logging on, but there is a warning for that.The other issue is that it would give warning of low battery even when fully charged if you record video and use the zoom lens. Once you turn of the camera and back on, it will read the battery correctly again. So it is kind of false alarm.Canon acknowledged this glitch and they published a firmware update to fix it, which was easy to install, yet it didn't fix the problem, the error reoccured after the firmware update.I wouldn't return the camera for this glitch.

It does everything I would hope for as an alternative to my Nikon DX for photographing birds when I'm out and about. As with other comments the battery loses energy quickly. I carry two charged spares.

We bought it for a trip to South Africa we wanted something small but good. We found this point and shoot to be the best. great camera, big viewing screen. You may want to get an extra set of batteries,the battery does not last very long.

I bought this model based on its superior photo quality compared to its current rivals. Unfortunately, mine also exhibited the video battery problem even after the firmware update. I can't live with that so it's going back. Too bad. I have been a Canon user for well over a decade. Most of my family also have Canon point and shoot models. My wife has an SX240 which I have always thought took great pictures. Canon: You need to recall the defective serials and make this right. I am moving on to another brand. Very disappointing...

but the wi fi only works when it is in the mood the older model works well which i have owned. the zoom is amazing and the quality is great but do not buy it for it's wi fi!!!!!!!!!!!

I like my Canon products but not this one. So many pictures and opportunities missed because of battery/camera not functioning properly. Can not recommend it. I am sending the camera in for repairs but based on others reviews I am not hopeful. If I have a different experience I will follow up, but wanted to get this information out there to save others from disappointments.

My girlfriend got me this camera last Christmas and spent much of the year calling it "the camera" and snatching it from me, so I decided to get her one of her own. This upgraded version does about the same things as last year's but it comes in red which looks very cool. I'd definitely recommend this.

I will tell everyone I know how I love this little camera! I grabbed it quickly as we were leaving for a trip and I wanted a small camera with a quicker shutter speed. I thought I would use the "other" settings but I ended up only using the camera on automatic. My pictures are wonderful with clear, crisp color, the zoom is outstanding, the detail is great... everyone thought I had used a more extensive camera. One problem is the placement of the flash, it is where I usually hold my finger to steady the camera so I had to relearn where to place my fingers when holding it.

I really enjoy this camera. We bought it for the 20X zoom and we are using it to take pictures of birds in Florida. It works very smoothly. The size is great and fits my hand well. While I haven't used many of the settings, it seems very straightforward to use.

I haven't checked every feature but as of this date I'm satisfied with my purchase.It has performed well for me and I love the wifi feature for downloading pictures.

I adore the camera and pictures. the batteries are not long lasting and they are very disappointing. If I go on vacation I can easily go through 3-4 batteries a day and need to constantly re-charge. very much a pain in foreign countries.

I love this camera. Feels solid in my hand, zoom is incredible and the pictures are amazing. The one thing I've found is when I start taking video, after 30 seconds or so, the battery indicator starts flashing low battery. It'll flash like that forever, I've never had it die on me, so my guess is the camera has a bug where it thinks the battery is dying, but really isn't. I turn it off and back on and it's fine, I can shoot pictures and video just fine. It's a slight annoyance to shut if off and back on, but doesn't affect the performance, again it's never died on me, and I've shot 20 and 30 minute video with it flashing low battery in this 'buggy' state.Other than than, camera is amazing! I'm betting Canon will release a firmware update that will fix this.
