I have had several Canon cameras and liked them. I read nothing but good reviews for this camera. I got the green one which is easy to hold and looks nice. Looks are not everything and if I had to do this again, I would pass. I got my Canon SX260 in time for a birthday party I was attending. I took over 40 photos and over 80% of them ended up blurred. Unless you take a photo of someone/something not moving at all, like a statute or Xmas tree or person in a trance, watch out. From the time you press the button, the camera takes forever to actually take the photo. The zoom lens is great for scenic photos but don't even think of taking photos of your kids, dogs/cats, or anything that moves as the photo will be blurred. Sorry Canon, but you sure blew it on this one.

This is my 3rd PowerShot camera. I loved the first one so much, I stuck with it and would update every few years as newer models come out.Love the nice big screen.Great number of features even in auto mode - more than enough for your every day photos.very happy with quality of pics so far (3 months of constant use, taking pics of new baby)The flash pops out and ends up a little in the way of trigger finger.The on/off button is weirdly positioned - it is sunk in the camera and it takes me several presses every time to turn it on.

Love this camera. Great zoom lense, takes awesome pictures and they got the bugs out from the earlier models. Power button was moved and the flash does not jump up and hit your finger like the previous model.I would definetly reccommend to a friend.

I'm pretty happy with this camera - the zoom lens is awesome, it starts up quick, and the "Live" mode is a really neat idea - basically it's just a new picture-taking mode where you get just 3 sliders to adjust the picture (light/dark, cool/warm, and neutral/vivid). These make it much easier to get the color and exposure you want than fiddling with more advanced controls, although those are there for people who want them.It comes with a separate battery charger that you put the battery into; this is a nice extra when so many new cameras are cheaping out and require you to charge the battery inside the camera instead.The camera has a couple of stupid design issues - when you hold the camera, your right index finger naturally ends up on top of the power button (which feels and looks a lot like the shutter button), and your left index finger naturally ends up on top of the pop-up flash. This means that often when you want to take a photo, you'll either accidentally turn off the camera, or you'll prevent the flash from popping up (which causes an error requiring you to restart the camera).I also wish this camera had is a real panorama mode; instead it's got only "stitch assist" which helps you take a series of shots that line up. This makes it easier to convert to a panorama later if you have the right software on your PC. It's kind of puzzling that a lot of cheaper cameras already can do a better job on this.

Now the screen stays black when I turn it on and I can't see anything. The camera is effectively useless. This is a big disappointment as my first Cannon camera lasted years.

This camera takes great pictures. I love that it is easy to use. The stability features is amazing especially when I have small children climbing on me all the time, ha ha!

Do you print larger than 16x20 images? If not I cant recommend this camera more highly. Incredibly versatile camera that blows all other point and shoots out of the water. At this price point I dare you to find a better one. It is such a pleasure to be able to pocket a camera that takes such professional looking pictures. I have been a photographer since I was 13 and am now 60. Yes I do know my way around cameras and dont listen to the photo snobs out there. If you are an amateur you will be rightly rewarded. If you are semi-pro and have a decent eye then you will be taking pictures that will exceed your expectations.

Although the pictures are not that great but still loves it because of zooming power and portability when iam travelling

Great as always from Canon made cameras...it's bout the only camera brand we own that we keep for ever. works beautifully

I received this camera several days ago. I am just a casual picture-snapper and it had been more than a decade since I bought a new camera. I knew a lot had changed during that time, so I set aside a full day to familiarize myself with it. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy and quick it was to set up the software from the enclosed cd and get the camera ready to go. I found the manual to be clear and easy to follow. Within a short time I was downloading photos to my computer and editing them. It certainly didn't take all day! So far I am very pleased with the quality of the photos and I think the camera has enough features to keep me happy for a long time. The zoom is great!

I have the Canon 300 HS. The camera is great but I wanted a camera with a stronger flash that could take photos in an indoor theater setting and could fit in my pocket. I was told there Powershot SX260 is their newest camera. I bought it. On the automatic settings (which is what I use) the photos were no better than my Canon 300 HS. It does have different settings such as a fish eye lens. When I called Canon and complained that they camera they recommnended to me was no better than what I had, they told me to put it on a manual setting. I found no difference. Also this camera is heaviier and bulkier than the Canon 300 HS. I found at times photos taken on an Iphone were shaper.

This camera has been great! Image quality is absolutely wonderful for a compact superzoom. Video quality is very nice and having the 20X optical zoom is great.

A good majority of the pictures came out blurry, especially in the background with auto mode. Im no professional photographer by any means and just wanted a simple point and shoot camera. The camera will focus on faces, but will leave everything else blurry. If there is any motion at all, the whole shot comes out blurry. Will be returning

I need new camara to replace an old Canon but even I have used this camara only twice here my comments. Everything is ok except for 2 things: 1) the flash pops-up automatically from the top and usually on a place where you have your fingers. Something happen to the flash mechanism that even you have the flash forced on the flash don't work any more, so you need to turn the camara off and turn it on again taking care to have your fingers off this area to let the flash comes out free. 2) I can not find the way to adjust the power level of flash. Sometimes the light of flash is to intense that make pictures look very white on the background.Compact, nice design and very good quality of pictures thanks to its 20X optical zoom. This is the best feature of this camara.If you take care of the 2 things described, go and get it. Very good pick compared to other options for the same price. Don't forget to buy the extended warranty.

This camera is very nice. Most of my photographs are of my grandchildren and they both participate in sports so the zoom lens comes in very handy. I'm able to get close shots even from across the field.The clarity and color of the images are very good. It has a mind boggling variety of modes to choose from. The separate video button is a big plus.

It's great to have the 20x zoom in a compact camera. I only wish that I could set the initial zoom, as it goes from Wide Angle to Telephoto, and it would be nice to start at "normal" instead of full wide angle. That's the only complaint I have so far, most of the other surprises with this camera have been good ones. They pack more features in than anyone can remember.

I got this camera to replace a beat-up old Canon camera that wouldn't die despite being dropped on concrete numerous times. The lens always stuck closed, but I dealt with it because the camera was so good.I got this one as a replacement several months ago, and so far I'm very pleased with it. It feels just as sturdy, the pictures are excellent, and it is amazing in its ability to automatically switch focus from distance to macro closeups.They have changed the lens to overlapping leaflets, which is probably to correct the sticking problem, but it seems like a really vulnerable area now. We'll see. I will definitely try to protect it from sandy/dusty environments, but any fine camera deserves no less. I've been very happy with my purchase!

Camera takes great photos and videos. Decent low light performance. However, if you get a little sand in the lens, the camera is toast. The auto open/close lens cover breaks easily and costs about $150 to repair. Fortunately, my Amex card with purchase protection covered the cost of the repair, although I plan to use the check I received to upgrade to the SX280. This time I will be super careful not to let anything get into the lens!

I recently purchased this camera at Target, because it was on sale that week. I have taken over 1,000 pictures with it in the past month, and here is what i like about it:PROS- zoom: this camera has a combined 80x zoom, which is impressive for a unit this size. Seems to work very well.- speed: compared to my sony, the image processor is super fast. no complaints here.- image quality: though there are less megapixels than on my sony, this camera manages to pull off images of almost the same quality- features: this camera has a lot of little features and effects for your image. Once you figure out how to navigate the menu system, these little features are nice and allow you to really play with your image.- GPS: though i don't use it much, it locates you fairly quickly, and works like a charm.CONS- video: the quality is not as good as my sony. not sure if this is because of the lower fps or what, but not too happy with quality.- flash location: The flash is a pop up flash on the left corner of the device, which is right where my finger is when i am holding the camera. Bad design there.The build quality is great, with a nice fit and finish on the camera, and the little grip on the front is nice to have. Overall this is a great camera.

This camera is Great for taking Pictures outside! This is the First Canon Camera I've owed since my Canon AE-1 and my Canon T-50, both were great camera's! I Like the Smaller SX260HS Much better, because its lighter than my older cameras! I am Not a Professional Picture Taker, I Just Enjoy taking Pictures for my from to Northern California from were I was born there!I also love taking Pictures of Oregon Now were I live. There are many beautiful Places in the USA to Visit. I am Still Learning how to use my newer SX260HS right now.Take Care Everyone!~Kristi

What really bothers me about this camera is that I can't control the zoom. I press it slightly and it will zoom all the way out. There is no control. I realized this problem during a ski trip and it may have been the cold that created the problem. Too late to return.This camera takes nice photos and I bought it b/c I thought it would take better indoor photos. I haven't been too impressed by the indoor photos. Purchased in Dec. 2012.

The SX260 is easy to use and takes excellent photos. The zoom works well. It is a fine camera to have for travel, when you don't want to shlep a digital SLR.Only real negative I've noticed is that your hand tends to be in the pop-up flash area when holding the camera, so if it decides a flash is needed your hand placement may interfere with the flash rising--which I believe could cause damage if you are not quick to get out of the way. Also, the written (paper) instructions provided are minimal. You need to go to disc to really learn how best to use the camera its capabilities.

This camera takes great pictures. But I am still getting use to the flash popping up under my finger. You need to train yourself how to hold the camera.

Love this camera. Everyone in the family can use it to take beautiful shots easily. Much better than previous Fuji and Nikon point and shoots. The zoom is what makes a camera of this small size so special. One of the best buys we've ever made.
