I ran out of hard drive space with my 40GB ps3 hard drive so I found this as a good replacement. I made a backup of my game data on an external hard drive. I bought this 500GB hard drive from amazon, and replaced my 40GB with it. I restored my game data to my new hard drive and it works great. I don't think i'll ever run out of hard drive space on my ps3 anymore. The only difficult part with installing the hard drive was taking the the screws off the hard drive tray of the ps3 (to take the old hard drive out). I had to take it to a hardware store and they removed the screws in 30 seconds.

I installed this hard drive in a new Dell Computer with Windows 7. It worked great! I have lots of storage space now.

This hard drive is fantastic. I bought the 500 GB hard drive to upgrade from my 120 GB HD in my netbook, for under $50. I have three times the storage space for a very reasonable price. I plan to buy an additional hard drive with and external case so I can have a portable hard drive for a fraction of the price of a similar portable on the market.

This drive is so much better than the stock 130GB drive because it's larger and it seems to run faster. I've only had it for a month while my friend has had one for six years with no problems. Highly recommend this to anybody who does graphics, video or web. Installing it was a hassle because my old hard drive ran on Tiger and I upgraded to Snow Leopard on this new drive.

This internal drive worked perfectly for upgrading my original model PS3. The installation is easy, assuming you have a small enough screwdriver, and it takes no more than ten minutes or so, including research. It has functioned perfectly since. You'll spend more time backing up and restoring your old data than getting this beauty to work perfectly, so if you're looking to expand that hard drive, definitely consider this product! A++

I grabbed this hard drive as an upgrade to an old 80gb PS3 'fat'. Drive arrived well packaged and installing the new drive took less than ten minutes (not counting the backup/restore time). Drive is quieter than the stock PS3 drive and no issues with performance/speed. Absolute bargin price too.

Was shipped fast to me. Very easily installed and after reinstalling all drivers and prgms works perfectly!!! I usually buy Seagate hard drives but i took a chance with this Western Digital and I'm sold on it.

The hard drive came in an orderly fashion. upon receipt, installation was as easy as placing it into my harddrive tray on my laptop. After that, i reinstalled my operation system. The drive is really quiet and cool running, and my computer is actually faster now that ive replaced the stock drive in it. I would recommend this drive to anyone looking for a reliable replacement SATA drive for your laptop.

Thanks to this harddrive (and 54.95) my Macbook Pro went from 80 gigabytes of storage to half a terrabyte. The new drive is whisper quiet, runs cooler, is faster, and is roomy. I don't feel a need to upgrade this notebook for quite a while with this upgrade.This harddrive is EXCELLENT, and the three-year-warranty is quite ample.I think that this product is an absolute bargain at $54 and change. Free shipping too!Go for it, I say. Just be sure to know what you're doing when you open up your computer - especially a Macbook. Look for a service manual on the internet, and label your screws and obtain the correct screwdrivers, and a "spudger."Save your receipt in case of problems during the warranty period.Pretty positive review huh?

I bought this as a replacement for a failing drive (same model) in a Dell Inspiron 1318. Drive was easily replaced and tested with no issues. Speed is as expected for a 5400rpm drive.

Pretty easy to install and works great in my 2 year PC. I replaced the hard drive when I wanted to upgrade to Windows 7. The hard drive made the process pretty easy and I could revert to the old Hard drive if needed.

I'm using it for almost 9 months now, and all I can say is that has been satisfactory using it as a travelling back up drive. I take it everywhere, it has been hit, partially smashed, and shaken even while in use, it just keeps working fine. I use it with the Acomdata Tango 2.5-Inch USB 2.0 eSATA Portable Enclosure for SATA Hard Drive TNGXXXUSE-BLU (Blue), and they both work perfectly. The transfer speeds are fine too. I have been warned about not trusting too much on WD drives, as for they are also difficult for the data to be recovered (and also from my own experience, a WD Caviar Green is failing/unsteady, and is for home use only). I reccomend this little drive.

Perfect replacement/expansion for the PS3 hard drive. Had a little trouble installing but there was nothing that Googling couldnt solve. Highly recommended. Also, don't throw away your old hard drive. You can easily buy a hard drive case and use it as an external hard drive. I personally purchased this one: Acomdata Tango USB 2.0/eSATA 2.5-Inch SATA Hard Drive Enclosure TNGXXXUSE-BLU (Blue) ... with a little help from a friend with formatting, setting up was a breeze.

Upgraded my original backwards compatible 60GB playstation 3 to this western digital 500gb hard drive due to running out of space, very easy to install a new hard drive to your playstation 3. If any of the screws on the hard drive case don't want to come out using a small phillips head, use a pair of needle nose pliers and it'll get them out.

Nothing really new to add here, it was easy to install (PS3), and the packaging was great. Not sure what else to tell you. I had an 80gb HD and now I have a 500gb one. More room for saving stuff!!

I've had the hard drive for several weeks now. It works very well in my MacBook (MacBook2,1) as a replacement for the 120GB 5400rpm drive that came with the original notebook. It doesn't seem to be louder or consume significantly more power, despite what some of the other reviews has suggested. Installation was O.K. since you can look up the instructions online. I think the upgrade was well worth it.

I wanted to upgrade my 40 gig ps3 to 500 gigs and this drive worked perfect. Upgrade only takes maybe 10 minutes. I had a problem with the ps3 needing a system upgrade to new firmware. I had to upgrade ps3 firmware with a flash drive from the ps3 website. After that the drive worked great. I downloaded everything I could think of and still have over 350 gigs left. If your doing an upgrade to a ps3 I highly recommend this drive.

I simply set this to my USB port to do a backup on a reguler basis and it is very easy. Some want to save images, copy movies, or basically do anything that they want to do on their computer without messing up the internal hard drive. Of course I am a computer geek so it is easy for me, but if you are learning, it is getting much easier.

I bought this Drive on sale at Fry's for 69 odd some dollars. I was going to use it in a enclosure i bought as an external drive. as soon as i set it up which the EASE OF INSTALLATION was simple, the drive would not spin up. I took everything apart and removed the drive from the enclosure and attached it to a USB to SATA/PATA adapter and thats when i heard the dreaded click of death. how the heck could a brand new hard drive that hasnt been out of its static wraper for more than 20 minutes headcrash?Fry's would not take it back and i could not go back either due to poor weather. They told me to ship it to Western digital. Western Digitals RMA request is conveluded and difficult to manuver around. i choose to pre pay for a UPS label. it took me 5 tries 3 RMA requests and 2 creditcards before i was finnaly able to get the lable. then i found out i screwed up on my address and that added a 6th RMA but this was after i paid for the label attached to another RMA#. I finaly got a replacement but have not gotten around to try it. i ordered a 3.5" to 2.5" for a computer i am building as a replacement for the current 80GB drive i am using.

I got this to juice up the storage space for the ole PS3, and it sure does. It runs quiet and was easy to put in. I just got a PS3 slim and now I want to get another one for it as well. If that's what your considering getting this for, then you should.

I bought this for a friend who has an older model of the PS3 with limited data storage. He needed to install Heavy Rain but didn't have enough space to do so, so he paid me to get this for him. All he had to do was look up a YouTube video and he was able to successfully install it on his PS3 and continue playing games. It's been quite a long while and he still hasn't had any problems with this product so I definitely recommend it!
