My HDD on the Sony Vaio crashed. I bought this one and it fits and works perfect. I will use the HDD until I use the laptop, then I will use it as an external using an enclosure.

quick simple replacement of my old 40gig ps3 hard drive. Simply pop out the compartment cover and unscrew 3 screws swap and you have a completely up to date and media ready ps3 =) the 40gig was completely out of date and deleting things daily became old so this was a must and for only 40 bucks? you cant beat it considering sony charges 100+ more for the next model up with bigger hard drive. Thank you !!

Installed this last night, extremely easy to install. Google a tutorial, or read your PS3 manual if you need a visual on how it works. The only problem I had was formatting my external HDD (which i used to backup my data) to FAT32, because the PS3 only recognizes that format. I found a program called EASEUS Partition Master which will format your external HDD to FAT32 with no problem. Extremely satisfied with my new 500GB. No problems whatsoever, nor any stuttering or "lag" people are claiming to experience, all this on an original 60GB PS3.

Excellent product. Quick install and easily recognized by Vista. Very quiet. Nothing more to add. I used to partition with a primary and two logical drives. Now, I have 3 drives in my laptop and I can reformat anyone without losing the data in the other two. Also, I can use the old one with a case (sold separately) for backup as external drive.Update: I did a surface check and after 2 hours, 46 minutes and 8 seconds, checking sector by sector, the result was:0 bad sectors. Congratulations to WD.

Product shipped quick, I ordered with 2 day shipping and got it in just that. The Drive is actually only about 465 GB on my computer after installation which I'm not sure why that is but its more than enough for my projects. I have a MACBOOK that is about 4 years old and the drive fit perfectly into it and runs well after learning how to partitian it. You start your MAC with the new hard drive physically installed and on startup press and hold the "C" key. When the screen appears at the top file etc menu select disk utility and follow instructions to partitioning the drive. Good Luck!!! Hope all works well, I've only been using it for about 2 weeks.

I purchased this hard drive for my late 2008 Macbook unibody. It was a breeze to install and worked like a charm for a month, until one day my Macbook suddenly refused to boot. All my efforts to recover the disk went down the drain and I have lost all my data. If you are planning to buy this hard drive for your Macbook, please make sure you backup all your data at least once a week to avoid facing the disaster that I went through!

I was using Western Digital ever since I had Packard Bell Desktop PC. Western Digitals have long since been the dominant brand for computing parts, but especially Hard Drives.I bought this because I thought my crappy Fujitsu Hard Drive went silent due to receiving the Blue Screen of Death. I could not believe that such a thing could happen as fast (I mean c'mon it's Microsoft...I'm not gullible, just a bit shell-shocked) to a laptop running Windows 7 Ultimate! So I checked, and fiddled until I discovered that I simply needed to start all over again with Windows 7 Ultimate. Turns out that a Microsoft Update caused my BSOD, and made me think it was my hard drive that failed. Well, I had already ordered this puppy, and do you think I was going to switch back to my pre-installed Fujitsu piece of crap, even though it is 320GB?! Oh no! I only installed the bare necessities and set Windows 7 Ultimate to self activate within three days since my Hard Drive was coming in half that time span. Well, UPS came, and now I'm suped-up with 500GB of Hard Disk space, 1GB of Video RAM (not shared), Intel Duo Core, 4GBs of RAM all on a Toshiba laptop computer. I think now OCZ Technology, Raedeon, and Western Digital work in perfect harmony!Note: you are getting 465GB after formation of drive.This is a very affordable, great upgrade for your notebook, and I gather PS3, although I believe laptop should always have precedence over any gaming console, and that is why I will try to upgrade my 250GB PS3 to a 320GB PS3. Cannot wait until WD release a 1TB HDD for laptops.

I got this because my brothers PS3 HDD got fried because Black Ops froze. Not only did this do the trick but it's much faster than the HDD the comes standard with the PS3. If your PS3 still turns on and you get an error message just buy this, pop it in your PS3 and follow the directions. You will have your PS3 back up and running with a few short steps.

New hard drive works great. Only thing you need to know (which I found out after the fact) is that you need to format the hard drive before installing. In order to do this, you need to purchase a USB to SATA adapter cable for about $20. Then you hook to another computer and format. Takes about 10 sec. But the cable is around $20. From there, install new hard drive, and then boot system. I used recovery DVD for my Acer Extensa 5420. It took about 45 min to complete installation of Windows XP. All works great now, no issues whatsoever.

Bought this to replace the 160GB drive in my daughter's MacBook 13" Mid 2008 model. Used Time Machine to back up the old drive, slotted this in, booted from the Original disks, then used Time Machine to do a restore. Perfect! Used a Western Digital "My Book" 1TB external hard drive to do the back up and will use it with Time Machine to keep the machine backed up going forward. Great value for money and easy to do yourself.

Purchased 500GB Western Digital Blue HD because I had purchased one a year ago for my PS3 and find this is still a great drive. I purchased this HD to replace the HD in a T60 Thinkpad (100GB) I just bought. I did consider the 640GB size but the price was much greater per GB than this 500GB drive. This HD is very quite, has low heat output and is a very good value. I like and recommend the WD Blue line of hard drives.

This is a great hard drive. I replaced a Toshiba hard drive in a netbook with this. It is much faster and offers more space. So far it has had no problems as of yet. I only purchase WD hard drive and have not been let down yet

Hi all... as some of the other reviewers have also done, I bought this SATA drive specifically to upgrade my 80GB PS3. And I have to say that although many people have said it is an "overkill" to go larger than 250 or even 320, after installing it a few weeks ago and putting everything from personal pics to ripped mp3s, I now have the ultimate 1-stop shop for almost all of my multimedia needs.Having a pretty decent TV and home theater set-up, I transferred my ENTIRE library of music to my PS3 and can now play it through the system, view all of my personal pics and videos, and get just as many downloaded videos or demos from the Playstation store as I want without worrying about running out of space.For the price (just over $100 at the time of purchase) you can't get a better upgrade deal anywhere. I'm sure the price will go down when technology gets better and bigger drives are released. But for now, this is a steal.The install/swap was VERY easy... needed only a couple basic tools and some table space. It took about 10 or 15 minutes to do the swap, but the whole back-up and restore took me about 30-45 minutes each. It was all worth the wait though.After formatting and restoring my other system data, it showed I had around 400 GB to work with. I have since moved over about 100GB of media files and have plenty of room for all of the future add-ons, demos, videos, whatever else I may want to transfer from my computer and an endless number of Guitar Hero and Rock Band track packs and tunes! :)What did I do with my 80GB drive that used to be in my PS3? I went to an electronics store and bought an aluminum USB casing for the HD (about $14) and now use it as an extra backup! Works like a charm... it's small, compact and I'll take that with me when I travel rather than my 2GB USB flash drive.People who want to upgrade may want to look around on the web for video tutorials to help with the upgrade process. That's what I did and it helped a lot.I would like to also add, for those of you who might not be sure or haven't tried it yet, mp3 or wma audio files will work on the PS3 and most avi movies work too. I don't have the complete list handy of compatible files that work but as I mentioned before, this is now my ultimate media player, right in my living room. There's only a couple visualizers on the system by default, but it's great if you have people over and want to play some music. Rather than going through the trouble to hook up an iPod to your system, you can just play the music from the PS3 or create playlists. It's so simple and convenient and a great alternative to using multiple devices in your system.I hope this review helps. I installed it about 3 weeks ago and have had no issues and all has worked smoothly. I highly recommend this for all PS3 users out there. For those of you that want to upgrade your PS3 hard drive, even if you think 500 is too much, trust me when I say - It's worth every byte! :)

I purchased this product due to capacity of my PS3 being maxed out in only one year. The hard drive came in great condition and was extremely easy to install (just you tube for videos). The first day the hard drive seemed to have a serious delay that made it harder to play games but after it finished upgrading it has worked perfectly fine ever since.

I have a 80GB Fat PS3 and the H.D.D. was filled pretty quick. I searched forums to obtain information on what is an affordable yet reliable replacement, and many PS3 owners point to the Scorpio Blue as the solution. They were right. It's remarkably cheap, easily installed, and has more than enough space to hold my game data. I'm pretty satisfied with the end results.

I bought this drive to put into my 13" White Macbook (The first version released in 2006)It fits perfect and worked fine. One thing to be aware of is that may have to to do a disk utility of the drive if your Macbook doesn't recognize the drive after you install. So, just go to the Disk Utility on the OS install disk and do an ERASE of the drive with the Mac OS Extended (Journaled) chosen. I guess the factory sets these up to go into PC based laptops. Anyways, it will appear after you do this step.The drive is quiet and fast! Couldn't ask for more! It's great to have 500GB in my Macbook!!!

I slapped this bad boy in there to replace the over-capacity 80GB stock HDD I had and its great. Space is no longer an issue obviously for the forseeable future and it operates quieter. Much, much quieter.

I bought this for my ps3 and It worked Good But, It makes some Noises in my ps3 it could be a bad hdd or it could just be native command queuing. It works Good, But removed and replaced it with segate 500 gb No problems with segate but a little less performance.
