Plug it in, and it works. There is no configuration required at all, and it worked fine with my other network gear.

If you are looking for a 5-port switch to connect more devices in your home, go for this one. I have my Blu-ray player and 2 PCs connected and no issues. I primarily use a switch to stream movies from one of my PCs and WiFi doesn't work great for 1080P movies. Simply plug in a connection from a router to the any of the 5 ports. Connect the remaining 4 to other devices. I got this for 7.99 when it was on sale and I was looking for another one but the price has gone up to 14.99. I will wait until the price goes down :).

All I needed to do was provide internet access to two devices from one ethernet connection. This switch does exactly that for me, does it well, and does so at a great price.

This product has been working well and I have had no problems with it so far. I would highly recommend this to anyone. Its 10/100 only and not gigabit but if you dont need the bandwidth, this will suffice. Trendnet is a great company with great products as well.

I hooked up my Blue-Ray, TV and the DirecTV receiver to wireless DirecTV router and all devices are now connected to the internet ...simple and easy to use

This worked great for me in college dorms where there was only one ethernet port and no wifi. However, it just stopped working after a month of use.

This switch will do everything a more expensive model will do. It has a tiny footprint; is a no-brainer to setup; and, thus far, functions flawlessly. Don't be fooled by products that cost more.

My old Netgear switch finally reached end of life and I was looking to replace it with something small and cheap. I saw the $30 switch then I saw this one. After seeing great reviews and cheap price I bought this 5-port switch. When it arrived I was happy to see it was small enough to fit behind my TV unit to reach my Xbox, my DVD player(ethernet port) and my HTPC. All units connected to this switch work fine and at normal speeds.

Can't get too excited about a network switch, but can confirm it is both inexpensive and easy to setup/use. Very small form factor as well.

I purchased 2 of these to work with my Actiontec Ethernet to Coax adapters to split to multiple computers in my home office and to split to my TV/Xbox/Blueray/Slingbox in the family room. They work great.

Unassuming design, compact, and extremely well packaged. Heavy enough that it stays in one place on your desk. Weird thing is that I bought it to add additional computers to my hardwired Ethernet connection, which it does just fine. The weird part is that in the manual, it specifically says that is not what the product is designed to do, and will not work as a "splitter".If you ignore the manual, I think it's a great splitter, and extremely well priced at under $20..

I have used one of these before in my office (still in use) and the two computers on it are faster than the one that is directly hooked into system. So when we needed to add two network printers the only option was to give up two ports or install two of these. We bought two and like the first one they work like a charm! Best darn bang for the buck you get!

I have several of these. They are inexpensive, small and dependable. I have not had a single problem. I have had a couple of these for quite a while.This is 10/100 model. Most of my needs today are for the Gigabit model, but when speeds over 100Mbps are not needed, this does the trick. I bought this last one to extend my network to my TV for Netflix and the like. Works fine for that.

Hooked this up, and it worked. That is the great thing about a properly functioning switch, there should be minimum trouble setting it up. Very happy with this purchase.

I just needed to rig up my dorm internet to 4 devices, and this did the trick. Being a networking major, obviously this was no issue, but others needed help figuring out which ports they should use.

So, as I read the reviews, I didn't find nothing that fit specifically to my case. I'm no network expert, but I'm not a complete newbie either, at least technology wise. The concepts of Hub, Switch and Router still elude me on the most technical side. Internet is great and I find the answer to what the difference is. The result of it was that I was afraid I would end with a very good product (as rated) that is completely useless to me, until I tested it on my house.I didn't need a switch for a home network or to extend the one I have on my job. To be exact, this is my case:I have a PlayStation 3 160 GB, an Apple TV MC572LL/A (2010), a Samsung HT-C550 Home Theater System that connects to internet only by cable, two macbook pros (13" and 15") and two iPhones. My IPS is a new one in my country, that provides TV, Phone and the internet through fiber optics, to a speed of 20 Mbps. I decided that wireless internet got too slow and got disconnected too much for a nice online game and for a good movie or tv series. Even for a youtube video it got too choppy. So I needed to connect all my "connectable" devices to the same network, but the fiber optics modem that has output for up to three TVs, only has one Internet ethernet cable output. So, I needed a router (to the extent of my knowledge at that moment). But, as I found out, routers are the most sofisticated and complex way to make an internet connected network and that explains the prices. So, in my search for a much cheaper hub, which was the thing I knew would let me share internet connection for all my devices, I found this switch, which turns out was very cheap. I did my research on systems that are alike. Looks like it was going to work. But I didn't find a case like mine, with the same elements. But I know that I'm not the only and there's someone looking if somebody has the same configuration.So, if you have the same devices I do, you're good. This thing is tiny, efficient and work perfectly for what I needed. Have internet on all my devices through cable and wifi is free for laptops and mobile. Beware, if I try to use two of these devices at the same time for internet, I may get slow bandwidth speeds. But I can only foresee a case or two when that would become a problem.

I purchased this to route multiple ethernet cables to the four systems in my dorm room. It works just as it should and setup was a cinch. You do need an extra ethernet cable to run from the router/ethernet jack. Plug from the router to the box into slot one and then run from the box to your systems and it works just fine. There is no noticeable lack of internet speed when all of the systems are running.If you are in need of running many cables, this is a great solution and it is reasonably priced. Works great for dorm room gaming set-ups.

This product is exactly what I needed. I was able to cable both my television and blu ray player using only one available connection. It worked great, right out of the box.
