I have used several Plantronic BT headsets and was very excited about this one.I must admit to being very disappointed after using this headset for a week or two. The thing is very hard to keep in your ear - although I will say honestly that the included soft rubber moldable buds work well, even if they seal your ear almost uncomfortably tight.If you use the required over-the-ear loop for the stereo, the angle of the (non-flexible) loop makes the thing stick WAY out from your face - to the point that I had frequent complaints that people could not hear me. And if I was walking in the slightest breeze, the wind noise made all signals totally unintelligible.The sound quality and available volume are only so-so. I have had other bluetooth stereo headsets, so I know that they are not the greatest sound, but the other BT's were not only better quality sound, they could play loud enough to HEAR the music. I was constantly fiddling with the Plantronic's position and both the headset and phone volume controls to be able to hear clearly.If you want to listen to music at work or for more than a short time, the advertised "listening" time is 6 hours. I never saw that much before the battery died, even when I did not use the cell phone. I never made it through a full day without a dead battery.The last straw for me was when the headset lost stereo less than two weeks after I bought it. I could hear the stereo cut in and out when I wiggled the headset earloop connector, but then it finally died completely.The headset section works well enough, but the quality when using it that way (no stereo) is no better than a much less expensive model. And if I wanted a great BT headset without the stereo feature, I ould have spent the same money on a different unit.Thankfully this is not my first experience with Plantronic products, which by-and-large I like. Either this one is poorly designed, or maybe I just got a lemon. At this point, my only hope is to return it. I am willing to give it the benefit of the doubt and try a replacement. Once. If its the design, then forget it. I want a refund.

The sound quality on this device is great if you're driving by yourself, in a quiet car, if you're in a quiet office or in a library. However, the volume on my end, at it's highest, is very low. I cannot be in the same room as the rest of the family when I'm using this. Nor can I be outside, where cars are passing by. People I've been on the phone with are impressed with the quailty and always comment on it...but shouldn't I be impressed to? With the money spent on it ($79.99), I believe I should be! The ratings were really high and I thought the wind filter/noise control features would be great, as I'm outside a lot...but I now realize the great features are more focused toward people who are calling me. I love the sleek style and simplicity of it but all in all, I'd give it the "average" rating.

The range is not as far as the 510 version..I use this at work , so this is more important of an issue2. earholder gets slippery if it's hot and you sweat so if you are walking or jogging the earpiece can fall outoverall, this is a great product, not perfect but very pleased mostly.Hope this helps you to decide!

I had the Jawbone and several other over the ear headphones before it. The issue I have is that I wear sunglasses regularly and also have a fondness for hats. The over the ear is constantly in the way. This headset solves that issue. It fits well and is very secure (more so than the Jawbone even without the glasses or hat). The LCD battery display on the case is a great feature, no more guessing on whether to charge it. The noise reduction is good and I am very happy with the overall product, even at $100.

The silicone earplugs in different sizes make it easy to wear without the ear loop. I found it most useful for hands-free use while driving. Outside with any wind at all or inside with background noise people had a hard time making out what I was saying. I was disappointed that it would not connect via bluetooth to my laptop, as I had hoped I could use it for internet telephony. For the limited purpose that I use it, it's OK. I just pop it in my ear when I get in the car, and I don't need to fish around for my cell phone. Since I drive a stick shift, it is nice to have both hands free.

After reading many mix review it was just as I expected. It works fine with a bit of static that is noticeable. The phone have to be fairly close too or the static with become overwhelmingly loud. I'd say anywhere from beyond 3 feet of a distant between phone and the headset will give you an annoying time. However, for me it does its job by providing my hands to be free and does work fine. For me when I'm driving I don't pay attention to the static as much as if I'm just sitting in my house talking on the phone. Buy or not? You decide. For it's price I expect it to be more but after reading it's reviews I was prepared for what I discovered. I searched long and hard to find a good headset and it's just too hard so I just decided to get this one (since I couldn't find any headset with numerous of good review because all has mix review). In the end it does the job for me.

My freakin iPhone is driving me crazy. I'm totally tired of flipping white wires around just so I can listen to some music or to make a call. Grrr. I really love this headset for it's tiny size, very comfortable in-ear wear, and fantastic sound. The charging case is ingenious, sleek, protects the headset, doesn't get lost in my purse.But, sorry, no music.Really, I just need one ear to listen to my podcasts or make a phone call! Why why why won't this headset work with the music on the iPhone? I blame Apple for trying to childproof my listening experience by removing any and all options. Double grrr.

I wouldn't get a plantronics after this one again. Performance when working was barely acceptable (short range, lots of static) and then the microphone stopped working. Stay away from this one.

The product worked well for about a week, but then it broke.The part of the earpiece that hooks over the ear removes so that you can switch it from a mono version to a stereo version. The plastic that holds the part together is flimsy, and it snapped off after about a week when I was removing the earpiece from my ear. So then I only had a stereo earpiece, and if I wanted to use it as a phone, I had the other half dangling by my neck.About two months later, the whole thing stopped working and I had to throw it away.

I've had 4 plantronics 520's They work well & are easy to use. They are comfortable on the ear & easy to switch from left to right. The sound is good & the on/off button is easy to push, unlike the 925. It's easy to pair & just an all around good Bluetooth. I sometimes prefer this one to some of the newer Plantronics, but it's a matter of taste. I have all plantronics bluetooth's. I like that brand. Sheryl G.

Comfortable, good sound quality, easy to use. Worked very well .... for about 3 weeks. After charging it 6 or 7 times, it would no longer connect to the charger. Physically the connection was undamaged, it still snapped onto the charging plug, but it would no longer charge. I could get the charging light to come on for a few seconds if I wiggled it, but that was all. I carefully cleaned the charging plug and the headset connector with electronics cleaner. Then it charged 2 more times, but that was it. Nothing I could do would get it to charge after that. So 3 weeks of use and it's worthless. Plantronics needs to work on their charging connector.

I got this ear phone for Christmas and was initially very happy with it. But I quickly found out it would not stay in my ear. I tried all three of the different sized plastic "rectangles" to no avail. This device must have an over-ear hook. I sent it back to Amazon (great return policy) and immediately ordered the Plantronics Voyager Pro.

I have been using this item for a while now paired with a Plantronics BUA-100 usb bluetooth adapter. This device was purchased for use with a skype softphone on my laptop used when traveling for business. I am pretty impressed with this headset. The volume and functionality are perfect. The mic is a little too sensitive for car use and picks up quite a bit of ambient noise which is why I removed one star from this review.

I had what I thought was a top of the line Aliph Jawbone and didn't want to switch. Got this as a gift and what a superb difference in total comfort. Hardly know it is on the ear. The clarity is infinitely better. Everyone who speaks with me cannot believe the difference. Plantronics won me over and gets my 5 star rating.

This headset works very well. It isn't our first Plantronics headset, so I knew what to expect when setting it up (the first pairing is trivially easy, anything after that requires the manual to be handy). It paired and has worked flawlessly with my wife's iPhone. It is comfortable on the ear... For the price, it is an excellent choice, as long as you are willing to live with its one major quirk: it uses a weird proprietary power connector (that integrates with the headset dock). In a world where everybody seems to have standardized on micro-USB for mobile phone and accessory power, this is somewhat of an inconvenience.

I go through bluetooth headsets regularly because I tend to lose them. I thought I'd wrecked my Plantronics Voyager 835 bluetooth headset when I left it in a front pocket in a shirt I washed and dried in the dryer. But when I opened the dryer to check on my clothes, the bluetooth was sitting there, flashing red and blue in pair-up mode, quite hot to the touch but still alive. And, believe it or not, it worked!! Initially, the ear speaker sounded tinny, but in a day, it had reverted to its old self. Now it sounds just like it did before its laundry adventure. Unbelievable! So I must give this device high marks for durability. And it provides good clarity and noise reduction for the price.

I have been using this headset for a few weeks and really like it. It integrates well with the iphone and switches easily between music and phone calls. The sound is good for both uses. I really like that it handles voice commands. The only problem is that there is a brief delay between pushing the button, hearing the tone and the command being accepted, but this is probably a limitation of the technology, not the headset. Well worth the money.

The sound quality is great and the rechargeable case is definitely a plus. The small button for volume is hard to get used to. Otherwise, well worth the money. i have not had any complaints from anyone on the other end of the conversation for being to loud or too soft.

I have had several high end Plantronics and this one is the best. It has great audio reproduction that is better than Jabra, Jawbone or other Plantronics of lesser grade. The only drawback to all Plantronics (w/o ear loop) is it can and does fall out of the ear unexpectedly from time to time if not seated exactly; otherwise, it is the best.

Bought this about 3 weeks ago from Amazon who gave me a damn good deal...Have been using it since close to 2 weeks now and they are absolutely fantastic...the choice of gel inserts were very helpful and the set up to my iPhone was a pc of cake...in fact this headset comes already programmed to sync with the iPhone...Highly recommend it to folks who want a quality headset at a fab price.

Plantronics Voyager 855 Bluetooth Stereo HeadsetI use this headset with a Palm Treo 700p running Softick Audio Gateway for A2DP (music) compatability. I also use a Motorola H500 BT earpiece and have used a Motorola S9 headset. Both of the Motorola units have problems linking up with the phone function in normal use (after proper pairing) and the H500 in particular caused me a lot of grief in this regard requiring re-boots of the phone and other stupid phone tricks to get it to work.The Plantronics 855, however, links up immediatly every time I turn it on and works perfectly for telephone use. I especially like it for use in noisy environments as the in the ear design and the ability to hear the phone in both ears really help to tune out ambient noise. The microphone noise cancellation also seems to work well, so the other party can hear me clearly. The down side of this is that I do not feel comfortable wearing this headset for long periods of time because it plugs up my ear and makes me effectively deaf in one (or both) ears while I am wearing it. Headsets that hang outside the ear (like the Motorola H500) are much more comfortable in this regard.Unfortunately, the stereo music performance of this headset is not so great. It is difficult to get the stereo music function to link up to my Treo (Audio Gateway s/w may be partly to blame here) and the sound quality definitely leaves a lot to be desired. I have never been able to get the volume and other control functions to work with this headset though they did work with the Motorola S9, so I know that it is possible - it just doesn't work with the Plantronics 855. An additional problem is caused by the fabric covered wire that connects the 2 earpieces. When it rubs against my shirt collar, it makes a noise that is clearly heard in both ears - very annoying!In summary, I think this is a great BT earpiece for the phone but you should look elsewhere if music is your priority.

Good volume and clarity for the user. Those called have reported that the sound quality is good. Always seems like a bit of a job getting it plugged into my ear. I wonder if one-size-fits-all is really practical considering you are inserting something semi-into your ear, but I suppose if it works for me............. The idea behind the in-car charger totally eludes me. With some previous Plantronics ear pieces the ear piece was inserted down into the charger device which was then plugged into the car. Great program. With this version the charger is tipped with a "micro" male fitting (like on the tip of your finger) and the female fittig is in the end of the ear piece which is then plugged onto the male fitting and the ear piece just wiggles and jiggles out on the end. Ridiculous. How is that supposed to work? Don't plan on charging it while the vehicle is moving and don't slam the door getting out if it's parked. On the other hand I guess it's nothing a little duct tape wouldn't take care of. Good grief.

I have been told several times "I can't hardly hear you." Other times, with the same people, "sounds fine". These test are in the same location. However, the most frustrating thing has been this. Plantronics has sent me THREE 835 Voyagers. Why? None of the three units has a Standby Blinking LED light -- as the documentation asserts. I have spoken to their tech support over a three week period and the standard response has been to send out another unit. Now there is some question whether or not Plantronics excluded this feature from the 925 Discrovery and 835 Voyager. I can't get a straight answer. As you know a Blinking Standby light allows one to know if the unit is on or not. I like the 835 Voyager for several other reasons, but it is very frustrating speaking with Plantronics tech spt. when no one seems to be more helpful than the enclosed documentation. I still haven't received a response from Plantronics as to why three brand new units has no functioning Standby LED as claimed in the supporting documentation. BAD FORM, Plantronics!

I purchased the Voyager 855 around January, 2008. I have very small ears and was concerned that the unit would not fit me correctly. The main unit offers three different sizes of ear stabilizers, so I was able to find the one that fit correctly without a problem. I was very impressed with the design, the sound, and the quality of the overall item. The unit typically offers great voice quality, except if you are in a windy area outside. Additionally, music comes through fabulously.The unit blocks out quite a bit of environmental noise. I am a maintenance technician, and as such am often around very noisy environments. While these will not replace a good set of ear plugs, they offer a high enough volume and block out enough sound that I was able to listen to music in nearly every circumstance (except for running a saw).My only two gripes are with design issues. First, given my very small ear size, the stereo extension didn't quite fit correctly, as it is only offered in a medium size. This didn't give me too much of a problem, except when working over my head, as the unit would occasionally fall off from one of my ears. Lastly, the back clip where the stereo extension connects broke recently. I believe this was due to my habit of wrapping the stereo extension cord around the unit without disconnecting it first, causing this section to be under constant pressure. Be sure to disconnect the ear stabilizer if you are going to carry this around in your pocket.I should mention that this item comes with a high quality leather bag, making it easy to carry around an ear stabilizer, stereo connector, and bluetooth unit all in one small package. My unit finally gave out yesterday, after it accidentally wound up in the washing machine. However, I loved the Voyager 855 that I'm going to get a new one as soon as possible.

I bought the Plantronics Voyager 520 on holiday on-line special for $27 to replace a Motorola H700C. My friends tell me the audio quality on their end is much improved, and I find it MUCH easier to hear on my end while driving in the car in all conditions. It is reasonably comfortable, although the rubber earpiece on the Plantronics sometimes hurts my ear if worn for longer periods of time, particularly when a hat is worn over it.I found the Plantronics volume control far superior and easier to use in practice than the Motorola's, and, like others who have left reviews here, I occasionally found myself turning down the volume due to excellent audio quality of the earpiece.The battery life has been excellent so far, and it I have yet to need the in-car battery charger. I bought an i-Tip for my i-Go for $9.99, so chargers for my phone devices are inexpensive. My smaller Motorla did not last nearly this long without recharging, usually quitting after one or two long calls.All-in-all, I recommend this highly as a bluetooth device that offers excellent quality and functionality for the money.

After pouring over a lot of Amazon reviews for BT headsets to go with our iPhone 3Gs, nothing indicated that the $129 headsets were 3x as good as the Plantronics 520. This is our first BT headset and I will admit that I had low expectations. After two weeks, I can say that these headsets are well beyond our expectations.I have read dozens of reviews complaining of this headset or that not pairing with whatever phone. These paired in about 20 seconds with our iPhone 3Gs. Call quality is at least equivalent to using the handset itself, if not better. I can see where some people have complained that it is easy to hang up when trying to adjust volume levels; I haven't found it to be problematic, but I can see where it could be an issue, especially if the switch's "resistance" wears off a bit.I would prefer another volume level or two, but it's nothing near a deal-breaker. Very happy overall with the Plantronics 520.

I bought this unit expecting a higher quality piece because of the price. I've used Plantronics units before and had high expectations. While the fit is decent and the size and weight of the piece are great, the call volume is horrible. I've never had a complaint from the other end, but I can barely hear the person I'm speaking to. I'm on the road for work and the vehicle I drive is very noisy, so it's almost completely useless in that environment. Even in low noise conditions I find I have to press the headpiece deep into my ear to hear clearly. So much for handsfree. Buy a different Headset if it's noisy in your world.

Excellent sound, very well thought out design, good range and long battery life. Light and easy to wear, especially with the fitted eargels. Charging sleeve vibrates on incoming calls, allows you to leave phone on vibrate in backpack or bag, put headset in your shirt pocket and still get incoming calls. Taking phone out of sleeve answers call, putting it in hangs up. No DSP is a pro for me - I find most DSP implementations make calls sound robotic and muddled. My dad is hard-of-hearing and doesn't mind it when I use this headset - that's the ultimate test for me. I've tried 25-odd headsets and this is the one I use and recommend unreservedly.

I've only had these headphones for a few days but that has been enough time to really put them through their paces.With my cell phone (HTC/AT&T Tilt) the experience has been flawless. There were no issues pairing and the sound quality was really really good. The difference between a $30 wired headphone plugged in versus the Voyager is quite minimal.I have worn the headset around the house and my office while my phone was plugged into the PC charging and syncing. That was a very good experience. I also tried the same while I cut the grass. That was a great experience as I usually have wires that get trapped, etc.The ear buds themselves seem to make this product for me. If you do not like bud earphones you will hate this product. Being a big fan of bud earphones I find that these lock out even more noise than normal. (They passed the spouse/kids test) This was a bonus when I cut the grass. I didn't have to raise the volume very much to hear my music and block the sound of the mower.My experience connecting to the MSI Starkey on my PC was not even near satisfactory. For some reason I hear the mic even when it should be muted. This didn't happen with my Plantronics 510 headset. That makes these virtually unusable with my PC -- or at least the experience is unpleasant enough that I would leave my headset disconnected most of the time.Overall I am really pleased with the quality of the Voyager.

I've had the Plantronics 520 bluetooth for about 4 months now, and loved every moment of it. The sound quality is great for the most part, and the battery life is also excellent (mine has gone at least 3 days without charging). Whats cool about this is that you can pair this bluetooth with up to two cellphones, and they both won't interfere with each other.Only a few problems. The ear hook is kind of big, and if you have small ears, you're going to have to readjust the earpiece a few times. I'm finally able to get it to get on my ear perfectly without it falling off. Also be aware that this does not come with a wall charger (it comes with a car charger and a USB charger). It's somewhat convenient with the USB is you're near a computer most of the time, but just be aware of that. It also comes with a tie lanyard to clip on your tie or shirt collar.Also sometimes the volume buttons are hard to control if you're not careful, because it's on the same button as the call answer/end button.Other than that, I've rarely had problems with this one for serving it's purpose. Definitely worth trying. Peace.

I bought this device because of the price and the the fact that it can simultaneously pair with two devices. The features are as you'd expect and it doesn't waste your money with items like a readable screen ( I owned one that had this feature, could never read it when it was in my ear!) The battery life hasn't been challenged. It comes with a handy battery charger/carry case so you can recharge it while you park and run a quick errand. The modular charger neatly integrates with a home charger.The reason it doesn't get a five-star rating is that I think it does not stop charging and drains the battery - however, I must admit that I haven't confirmed this.

I have read reviews before buying but have never written one. I've owned a Voyager 510 for a couple years and never realized how good it was until it came time to replace it (my Great Dane got a hold of it and chewed it beyond recognition - my bad). I bought the Voyager 520 after reading reviews on this website thinking it would be an improvement over the 510.The thing I find interesting in all the reviews is that no one mentioned the 520 doesn't have mute which I used all the time with my 510 when on conference calls in airports, noisy meeting rooms or anywhere that had a lot of background noise. Also the 520 I purchased came across to the listener as my voice being slightly garbled (they had to strain to catch some of the words) which no one ever mentioned with my 510. On my end I was disappointed with how much "crackle" I heard if I got more than 10 feet from my phone (Motorola Razor V3m). I'm going back to the 510 hoping they haven't cheapened it in last two years.

I was looking for a replacement for another device that had mysteriously stopped working when I came across this little gem. I love it! The ear buds are comfortable and it does not fall out of my ears. The buds are comfortable. The call/end button is a hard to press, but once I got the hang of it everything was fine. My only complaint is that it sometimes gets feedback when I am driving on the highway, but I do live in a pretty rural area. Since I am not on the highway often, I am not as concerned about this issue as might be others. I am very happy with my purchase, and do not regret one cent.

This is my first Plantronics headset and I expected more due to the great reviews from my Plantronics-owner peers. I've been through the Jawbone, Gennum, LG, Motorola and Sound ID headsets. The Voyager 835 got great reviews on CNET.com and I did my homework with the technology, but I would rate this headset as average. The clarity of incoming voices is above average, but soft. My voice is muffled on the receivers' end. There is minor static that I first noticed during the silence of being put on hold; but now I am aware of it all the time. Volume definitely needs to be louder. Conversation is fine in quiet indoor environments, but I bought this noise-cancelling, wind-stopping headset for practical reasons. The noise-cancelling and wind-stopping technology is good for the person I'm talking to; however, I keep having to ask them to repeat themselves because I cannot hear them in windy or environments with a lot of background noise. The usable range that the phone can be away from the headset is poor. Have it on opposite sides of your body and the static is deafening. It's a fairly inexpensive headset, so I guess you get what you pay for.

This is our first ever Plantronics wireless earpiece. I bought this in April 6, 2009 from Amazon.com as a gift to my wife for Mother's Day. When we open, charge for three hours and try to pair it for the first time, the light does not open up to go on pairing mode. I have called customer service and they walked me through a couple of troubleshooting steps to conclude that it is a defective unit. I need to send it back to Plantronics and they will ship me back a replacement. I will update this review upon receipt of replacement unit and confirm that it works.This sucks!

I purchased this sleek headset for my Sony Ericcson w580 cell phone (AT&T). After using it for a while, I found the following pros and cons.Pro:1) easy to hold it in ear. The gel is soft and comfortable.2) the standby time is fine and charging time is acceptable.3) the voice quality is good, even though not crystal clear.4) voice control is compatible with my cell.Con:1) automatically disconnect with my cell. This pains me. But you can get it paired by pressing the power button of the headset for a few seconds.2) noise canceling is not so good and there's some background noise. It sounds like you're talking to the listener at a distance in a large empty room.3) the signal is not constantly good. When talking w/ my friends over the phone, sometimes he/she couldn't hear me easily or completely. This happened to my side as well. Well, I have to say this may not be a problem w/ the headset always since the signal of ATT in my area is not that good, either.

Mine only last two months and the eye piece is very uncomfortable. I had a small and medium and neither one felt good in my year and the headset would slide down while i was talking and I'd have to readjust which meant pushing more in my ear and bottom like is, it just doesn't wear good at all. After two months a light came on and wouldn't go off. Tried going through tech support and because it wasn't under warranty, they couldn't help me :(. I don't like things in my ear and seems like most headsets are like that now except one I found by Motorola H710. Lays flat against your ear and quality is great. Price is good too.

I want to start by saying that I purchased this unit based on the reviews that I read on here and I have to say that I am extremely disapointed with this product.I do not know if I received a defective unit or if some of these reviews were just plants, but I will tell you that based on the performance that I have had I would not recommend this product to anyome. While the sound quality was good, I have had ongoing issues with the unit not working well with the voice dial feature and on many occassions when I was in the middle of a conversation, the person with whom I was speaking could no longer hear me even though I could hear them perfectly.

I bought this to use it with my nokia 6120 and with my laptop that has a ioGear bluetooth dongle IOGear GBU421 Bluetooth 2.0 USB Micro Adapter.Sound quality is good if I stay close to the phone or computer, but if you get about 3 or 4 meters (9 - 12 feet) away then you get a lot of static which makes it unusable.The quick pair technology is quite helpful since you can have it paired with two devices at the same time and if you get a call or make one from either device it will route it to the headset automatically, you can't have the two working (in a call) at the same time but that is not necessary from my point of view.The charging cradle looks nice I will upload a picture of it later.Some other reviewer said you couldn't know/see how much battery was left but he was wrong, when you turn it on if the red light blinks 3 times then you have more than 2/3 left, if 2 then its between 1/3 and 2/3, and if it only blinks once then you have less than 1/3.

I bought this bluetooth because of the positive reviews on comfort and sound quality. Perhaps it would be comfortable for a large ear, but the "nozzle" style ear piece was so uncomfortable that I ended up cutting the rubber section in half just to get it to fit well enough that it didn't feel as though it was entering my ear canal. The volume control is useless. I use my bluetooth for business calls. All calls sound like the other person is whispering. Needless to say, it is in the drawer and I am "researching" with much more care what to get next.

It sits so comfortably in my ear I often forget I'm wearing it. Clear sound both ways and good battery life. It's not too big or too small and it isn't ugly!

Major static was present even with the phone held right next to the headset.Often people who I called complained about the incredibly bad quality of my signal.Range was poor on Plantronics 650.I can no longer recommend this headset.
