I've tried a few bluetooth headsets over the last several years, and suspect that the hype of bluetooth headsets is overrated, across the board. This one is the best I've tried so far, and it is worth the price.Pros: It works. Keeps a charge for two days, even if I work in an hour long convo or two with family.Cons: Sounds tinny to the other end, sound canceling feature doesn't do much for wind (but does work for road noise on highway). The on-headset controls don't thrill me, but I also find that I don't need them. ymmv.I find that if I move my phone while it's connected to the headset, that the person on the other end gets a ton of static. Also, I can't keep my phone in a pocket and do housework or yardwork or something- the headset and phone have to be in close, unobstructed proximity. Like the dashboard, or the table next to where you're sitting. That said, it's a workhorse headset that has increased my on the road focus, and saved me some cell-to-brain radiation, and definitely saved me some neck cricks. I use this headset almost daily, have for the last two years and it's still going strong. I'd buy it again.

I decided it was time to join the 21st century and get a bluetooth headset. Also, using a cellphone in the car is really hard when you drive a stick.I browsed around and basically narrowed it down to this one or the Jawbone Prime. People say the Jawbone has superior noise canceling (which I wanted) but that this one has good noise canceling and better ergonomics and speaker quality. So obviously I picked this one.Just a couple notes from someone who has never used a bluetooth headset before:* The earpiece rests comfortably in your ear with no hook needed (someone posted a picture of headset where they had apparently attached an optional ear hook to it, but I don't think it's necessary). That said, I wouldn't wear this unless I was using it -- it would be all too easy to snatch this thing out of someone's ear and make a run for it.* At first I thought the volume on this headset was bad -- I couldn't get it loud enough by using the volume button on the headset. I discovered, though, that my phone (a G'Zone) has its own volume control for headsets, which was on "Low", and once I turned up the volume on the phone, it was fine. I do wish it was a little louder, though. I've used it in a noisy bar and it's usable (which is impressive) but it would have been nice to boost the volume more.* It comes with a "charging case", which is brilliant. So, the headset has a 5 hour charge (active use). The little case you put the headset in holds an additional 10 hours worth of charge which it will transfer to the headset when you put it into the case. So all totaled you have 15 hours of use-time before you need to find a wall socket. Also, you can plug the headset straight into the wall to charge it directly, or put it in the case and then plug the case into the wall to charge them both back up at the same time. It's really quite a clever solution to the battery problem.* I'm totally going to lose or break this thing within 2 months. I guess I should look for a belt clip or something for it. I'm afraid to keep it in my pocket (afraid I'll break it). The case could be used as a belt clip but might look really silly. If I were female and carried a purse, I would just carry the case and use that for storage (the case is pretty small). Quick: I need cargo pants to come back into style. With all those extra pockets. Let's go, people!Granted I've only had it for about a week but I'm really happy with it so far. Sounds good, feels good, looks good, has good features.

The earpiece is very simple to use and paired easily with my phone. I wish that the earpiece volume were able to be turned up slightly and wish that the earpiece came with different sized attachment, but for the price I can't complain too much. It does what I need it to do and overall was a wise purchase and a good deal.

After going through 3 different bluetooth headsets in the last 4 years, I decided they weren't for me. They are too fragile and so small that they are easily misplaced. When the Pantronics 925 came out I considered it, but wanted to stick to my previous decision that I did not want to waste money on an item I would probably not have for to long. Finally, after checking out a friends 975 I decided to get one. I have had it for about 3 months now and it is by far the best Headset I have ever used. I am using it with a Motorola Droid and it works flawless. The range is absolutely amazing, sometimes I leave my phone in my basement and can wander up to the top level of my house without noticing any static. No one ever complains about being able to hear me (more then I can say for the microphone on my phone). Although the performance of the device is excellent, that wasn't the reason I purchased it. I absolutely love the fact that it has a case. The case looks nice and is small enough to place in my pocket. If that wasn't great enough, the charging capability of the case blows my mind. I have gone over a week, with more than average usage on one battery charge of both units. An issue I always had in the past was that my battery would start getting low at the worst times. Well now thats never an issue, I use the case religiously (not going to have another unit break on me again) and because of the dual battery meter I always know the status of the batter when the device is not in my ear. Which brings me to my next point, I love the way it fits. When I first used my friends unit, I thought there was no way that was going to stay in my ear without an ear loop. I was dead wrong, it fits amazingly, I have never had it fall out or even feel loose and it stays in comfortably for hours. So I know your thinking, this guy is only bringing up the good things, there has to be something wrong with it, or something that he doesn't like. Well I tried really hard to find out improvements I would make for the next generations of Discovery headsets. The only issue I have run into is when I put the headset into the case, and do not turn it off. Basically, when this happens, your still connected to your phone, so when you answer your phone no ones on the other side because your headset is still paired and connected. I thought there may be a better way to detect if its in your ear or maybe when its in the case, I know the jawbone II has a sensor that knows when it is in your ear, but it is by no means flawless. So my only suggestion for improvement would be if somehow the device was put into a sleep mode when cradled in the case. Other then that its pretty much perfect.

I've had this headset for about 7 months. I use it more for listening to podcasts than anything else. I wanted a handsfree stereo headset to get rid of the cord to my smart-phone (I use an app to download podcasts straight to my phone). The foam and rubber ear inserts work well for blocking out noise. I use this headset while jogging, working on the yard and around the house. I also use it when going through airports. I travel over 100,000 miles per year. It is great to use these to drown out all the background noise in airports. If I start listening to an hour long podcast when I get to the airport, I'll finish it about the time we back away from the gate. It's great that it uses a standard micro-usb plug (the same as most modern smart phones). In flight I use a noise canceling over-ear headphone as those are more comfortable and block a lot more noise (these headsets are also charged by micro-usb).The battery life is good enough. I have micro-usb cords sprinkled everywhere (night-stand, car, laptop bag, office) due to all the devices I own that use this standard. I'm in the habit of plugging my gadgets in when they're not in use, so rarely have the juice run out on me.I like the compact design of this set. The small main ear-piece with detachable ear-loop / 2nd earphone is a great design. It is really easy to fit this into my small travel pouch or a zippered pocket in my laptop bag.As far as sound quality goes for mp3 music and phone calls, it is good enough to get the job done.

Plantronics Discovery 975 Bluetooth HeadsetThis is my first BlueTooth headset that doesn't have or offer an ear hook. I was very skeptical about that. I have always feared the earpiece falling off my head and getting damaged. Well, fear not. This thing stays put in your ear like nobody's business. I once had a Jabra JX-10 that had this kind of arrangement but I needed to attach the optional loop to secure it. This just stays in and holds on.It has a very sleek simple design. The boom is long and thin the main body is diamond shaped and there are only two switches to operate. The first is the bar on the center of the outside of the diamond. It is power/call/mute/dial it just depends how you press it as to what it does and if your phone supports the feature set. Most modern phones do just fine. The second button is on the outside of the diamond box, which is for volume. It only goes in one direction so you keep pressing until you get a level you're comfortable with, it will just rotate through the levels. Next to the volume button is the socket for recharging.Charging the 975 is easy. You can either plug the A/C adapter directly into the headset or you can snap the headset into its carry case. The carry case itself has a battery which when fully charged can deliver three full charging cycles to the headset. This is great for portability. The case is small about one inch by three inches cubed. It has a cushioned outside with a leatherette cover and is rigid inside to protect the 975. There is a small backlit LCD to display the charge state (in blocks) of both the headset and the cases internal battery. This is a great feature, so you'll always know the level of your batteries. To remove the headset from the case there is an eject lever that pops it right out.I'm using the 975 with my iPhone. It paired and worked right away, no issues. The incoming sound quality is top notch. I was once told that I sounded a bit "tinny" but on further investigation I discovered that my battery was low. When I charged it up and called back I was told I sounded much better.Something I like is the light on the side is only white and red. No constant flashing blue light. It doesn't flash at all once it's connected. Yay! I got very annoyed by flashing blue lights. That's just me.One last thing is the style factor. I think it looks great. It's not too big or too small and it is sleek. Just a great job of style engineering. Very Apple like, if I may. I think you will be quite happy with the performance and features of the 975, it's simply one of the best headsets I've ever used. Highly recommended.UPDATE: January 2011A friend of mine bought this headset based on my recommendation. I have an iPhone 4, a 3G when I wrote the above. It works fine on both iDevices. My friend has a Sprint Evo 4G. He told me he hears a high pitched background noise. I have good hearing and heard no such noise. We are on opposite sides og the country so until this week we couldn't test this. Well, he visited this week. Yup, on the Evo his and mine had the noise, on the iPhone neither had the noise. He will be contacting Plantronics for some resolution.>>> If you have a Sprint Evo 4G, NOT RECOMMENDED! <<<

I purchased the Plantronics 835 bluetooth with noise cancelling features about a month....yada yada yada...and I have not used it after the first week!! I find that has very poor volume on every call that I used it for and felt that I was constantly pressing the unit into my ear to even hear the person on the line. Point blank this unit needs to be $5.99 with free shipping for those who want to take their chances. LOL. It was a bad choice for me and I have gone back to my older bluetooth unit even with the broken over the ear clip. The 835 has a good price but not worth it.

There are four main problems with Bluetooth headsets. They are uncomfortable to wear. They slip off too easily. The speaker makes it difficult to hear. The microphone makes it difficult to be heard. The Plantronics Voyager 52 addresses all of these points. The plastic ear ring is smooth and comfortable, being large enough to not feel like a wire around my ear. The headset being overall light enough so that I don't feel like I have an uncomfortable weight on my ear. Once you put it on, it feels secure and doesn't slip. The fact that I can also wear it comfortably even while wearing my glasses as well, makes it perfect for me. Plus the ear ring easily allows the wearer to shift from one ear to the other thanks to a universal hinge that easily allows for adjustments in practically all directions. As for the speaker, I actually get far better reception from this headset than when I'm talking directly on my Palm Treo. Finally the microphone makes my voice louder and clearer to the folks I'm talking to. I never get that "You are on your headset, aren't you?" question. On top of everything else, the overall appearance of the headset works with me (I shave my head). It doesn't look like a mini cheese grater or an overbearing cyborg accessory. The recharger has an iffy connection, so you have to be absolutely sure that your headset is connected so that it will charge and not just sit there. Also if the headset is not fully attached (it's hard to be sure), then it will fall right off. So make sure you have the recharger somewhere level and far from any table edges.

I have had 3 of the Plantronics 520,which is a great BT headset. The battery life is incredibly long, its light weight and has great sound quality. I also find them to be sturdy, as I have dropped them several times and I even had one fall out of ear, while riding down the highway on my motorcycle. It was banged up but worked.(I subsequesntly lost this one.) Having said all that, I have 2 complaints. First, I have been frustrated with the contruction of the headset. I use my bluetoothdaily. Its in my ear almost 24/7. It's almost an appendage to my ear. On the other hand, my wife will use her's occassionally if she uses it at all, just to give you a contrast. Well, the hook near the head set,is made of a firm plastic, which transitions into a soft, clear rubber. After approx 1 1/2yrs, the SOFT clear rubber became stiff/hard and seperated from the plastic part. Mine broke first. I sent it back to Plantronics for a replacement. I had no problems from Plantronics. they replaced it with no hassle. But, I immediately had problems with the replacemnt, I had problems making it fit comfortably in my ear. It was a constant fight because the earbud just would not cooperate! That was the second issue with the BT-I had diffiuclty making it stay in my ear. I have a small ear canal I think. When I bought the device, I didn't have that problem, but the replacement gave me fits. I know your wondering why I didn't return it. I was planning to do that, but I have misplaced it.Overall it is a great BT, for all the things I listed above, but they need to work on the glue that holds the ear piece together. Now if I can get the manufactuers to add a little beeper, so that they can be found when misplaced. :-)

I had high hopes for this headset. I bought one after I read all the rave reviews. However not many people actually tested or heard how they sound on the other end of the call. After I received it, I was very disappointed with the outgoing sound quality. I called my voicemail and recorded my own voice using the plantronics 975, my iPhone 3Gs with no headset, and my old Motorola H500 in different conditions: at home with no surrounding noise, driving my car with the windows up, driving with windows down, driving with music on, standing outside in the wind. Here are the results in details (again this is ONLY regarding the outgoing sound quality):1- at home in a quiet environment: You would expect any headset to sound great in such environment however the plantronics sounded very compressed, heavy on the treble, choppy at times, some of the syllables come out muffled. The iPhone sounded clear, and my Motorola H500 was actually more clear than the plantronics to my surprise.2-Driving with windows up (65mph): Plantronics sounded similar to what it sounded at home, blocking the driving noise. the sound quality was still below average. My iPhone still sounded better. Motorola started to sound muffled.3-Driving with windows down: Plantronics blocked most with the wind noise (wind not blowing directly on the headset as I was wearing it in my right ear). My iPhone still sounded better. Motorola sounded choppy and muffled.4-Driving with music on: I could understand myself when music was on low and mid level. when the music was high, the voice became unclear.5-Standing outside in the wind: This was the worst. Plantronics picked up the wind noise blowing into it very well as if there was no wind cancellation at all.on the positive side this headset is very stylish and very light, it stayed in my ear with little discomfort. That being said, it got little uncomfortable every time I had to press the main button because I had to press the whole headset against my ear. What's the purpose of a good looking headset if people aren't going to hear what you say during a call?I am returning it and considering to try the Jawbone Icon instead (I don't like how it looks but maybe it would sound better)!

I got this as an upgrade to the Plantronics VoyagerPRO 510 which was a great headset but very bulky. I found that the battery didn't do so hot on it after a year or so and it was time for my yearly upgrade. Prior to that I used the Jawbone Prime and before that the Jawbone 2 (both Aliph products). To start with I was a little apprehensive about the earbud only pressure fit since I never could get the Jawbone Prime to stay put with the darn things. I thought that the 975 would constantly slip out of my ear. I was wrong. The fit is great for me with the medium earbud and it never moves. When I smile or laugh I feel like it might be coming out, but find it is always securely there. The volume button is well placed. The call quality is leaps and bounds above the 510, Jawbone 2 and the Jawbone Prime. Since I wear glasses and frequently also wear a hat, the 510 made this combination very uncomfortable. The Jawbone earpieces have earhooks that CONSTANTLY break and the sound is sub par, with the noise cancellation usually not working as marketed. Using the 975 (paired with my AT&T Nexus One) my girlfriend thought my 510 finally broke and I was just holding the phone to my ear. And this was next to a busy airport (with helicopter training going on and a jet taking off). Very impressive. It is also very attractive looking, easy to hit buttons and a case that charges the thing. I could not recommend this strongly enough. To sum up...PROS:--------Attractive design-Secure and snug fit-Great noise suppression for superior sounding call quality-No ear hooks or anything to interfere with glasses wearers-Reasonable price point for this category of headset-Charge case so the headset is ready when you need itCONS:---------Doesn't seem to have A2DP support so you can't listen to music with it when you aren't on a call, which really isn't a big deal anyways and it isn't what this was designed to do but it is a nice feature to have sometimes. Feature convergence is always a good thing.-I wish the case was a bit slimmer. It is a rectangle. I wish it were more shaped like a pack of cigarettes so you could have the same capacity battery (though in a different form factor of course which may lend itself by nature to a higher capacity battery) and a slimmer profile in your pocket.tl;drGreat headset at good price point for the feature set and quality of the product.

I have been using bluetooth headsets for a few years now; I had owned Nokia HS-26W, Nokia BH-200, Nokia BH-101, BlackBerry HS-655+ (by Plantronics), and now this Plantronics Discovery 975. My previous headsets served as a benchmark to which I was comparing Discovery 975.Pros:* Beautifully crafted. I love the minimalist design and the solid feel. The headset feels like it is of high quality and will last (9/24/09: finish is chipping off). I also like that it does not flash a goofy bright blue light like some other headsets do.* The sound quality is very good. People on the other end could hear me very well in windy conditions or with the background noise from drivingCons:* !!!Deal breaker!!! Comfort and security of the fit. I find Discovery 975 to be the least comfortable of all of the bluetooth headsets I've ever owned. Out of the three included gel ear tips neither feels comfortable and/or keeps the headset securely in my ear. There is no ear hook included with the headset or available as an option, so there is a definite possibility for me to drop or loose the headset. I do not understand why an ear hook could not be included like it was with the 655+ which had a very comfortable and secure fit that I truly enjoyed.* Unexpected issues with my phone's voice recognition software. With Discovery 975 my BlackBerry 8900's voice recognition software is having more trouble than usual understanding commands.I did not rate the headset one star because of the design, build (see 9/24/09 update), and sound quality. However, if I cannot get 975 to stay in my ear, I cannot benefit from those features.-- UPDATE 9/17/09: I purchased aftermarket ear hooks for Discovery 925 from eBay (see picture). They fit Discovery 975 perfectly. With the ear hook and the medium gel tip the headset fits comfortably and securely. I wish Plantronics included ear hooks or made them available as an option. I am still having problems with voice dialing, though.-- UPDATE 9/24/09: The gunmetal finish is coming off the top and the bottom corners of the ear piece (see picture). There are several small white specks around the black middle part where the finish has chipped and you can see the base material... I try to take good care of my electronics. I have not dropped the headset or carried it in my pocket with keys, so this is an unpleasant surprise.-- UPDATE 1/29/10: In October 2009 I contacted Plantronics regarding the chipping finish and they sent me a warranty replacement. I've been using the new unit for three months, and I am happy to report that I have no problem with the finish AND the voice dialing works flawlessly. Apparently, the first unit was defective. The stay-in-ear fit is still not comfortable, but I am using the smallest gel tip and the clear ear hook (see picture) and it works for me. I am raising my rating from two stars to three stars because the new unit works fine and the finish is not coming off, but I can't rate it higher because for me the stay-in-ear fit is uncomfortable, and because the problems with the first unit make me question Plantronic's quality consistency.

Can't remember which way to push for volume, hold for 3 sec to do one thing and 4 sec to do another... like hang up. Dealing with the one rocker button has been the source of pretty much all of my issues. Ties into the volume I can never seem to adjust the volume while it's in use. It's a minor gripe and 3min an consulting the manual would probably fix it.Overall I would certainly purchase again, particularly since it was on sale.

I bought this earpiece for my wife on the eve of California's hands-free law being enacted. It works very well and has easy setup and controls. The sound quality is good to very good. The only problem I had was that it is HUGE. The picture makes it appear to be long, but in reality it's massive for a Bluetooth earpiece. There are much smaller and more discreet devices out there for around the same price that offer similar quality. If size doesn't bother you, this is a great unit. Otherwise, I'd recommend looking at one of those.

But, talking to her while she was using the 520 was so much worse than talking without any bluetooth that we gave up on it. We talked to Plantronics customer service. They had us try rebooting the phone and fully charging the 520. But, that didn't help. FWIW, my wife's phone is LG Optimus M (Android 2.2) and we use MetroPCS. When my wife would talk, I would hear a buzzing noise and her voice would be more crackly and high-pitched than usual. And, it felt like noises were amplified, not reduced like 520 marketing indicates. It was hard on my ears to talk to her for more than 15 seconds. We might try a more expensive model (like the PRO or 925) to see if they work any better...Please comment if you are a bluetooth expert and have advice. Thanks!

I've tried almost a dozen Bluetooth headsets since they first started selling them. Unfortunately, I've had nothing but problems finding a headset that is comfortable and works well for me. Anything inserted into my ear canal is incredibly uncomfortable so I tend to seek headsets that aren't overly intrusive to the ear. I thought the Jabra Stone was going to be a home run when I bought it. While very comfortable to wear, the design is very poor and it's difficult to adjust the volume because it's so easy to click the headset off and on when adjusting the audio level. I had looked at the Plantronics Voyager 520 at my local Fry's and thought it looked potentially good. I made a note of it as a possible candidate and then forgot about it until Black Friday. I was checking deals on Amazon and they were featuring the 520 on a lightning deal for just $24.99. I quickly bought it since the price was right and I wouldn't be out much money if it didn't work. I've been using it for a month now and am THRILLED I bought it. Hands down it's the most comfortable headset I've ever used and everyone I speak to hears me as clearly as I hear them. It's easy to control and you can't accidentally switch it off when adjust volume. If you have problems wearing many of the popular Bluetooth headsets, I highly recommend checking out the Plantronics Voyager 520.

Plantronics has long been known for its quality Bluetooth headsets, not only because of fit and feel, but also because of its patented AudioIQ technology that helps reduce background noise. However, with more advanced headsets such as the BlueAnt V1 in the market, it needs to amp up its offerings to remain competitive. Enter the Plantronics Voyager 835. It's the first ever Plantronics headset with dual microphones, which help in enhancing your voice while reducing background noise. This results in excellent audio quality, and it's indeed one of the best headsets in Plantronics' lineup. The Voyager 835 is available for $119 MSRP, but its street price may drop to about $99.The Voyager 835 is aimed at mobile professionals, and its design reflects that. Measuring 2.1 inches long by 0.6 inch wide by 0.4 inch thick, the Voyager 835 has a long slender profile that is not at all showy. Wrapped in black plastic, the Voyager 835 is downright inconspicuous with its rather boring business-like design. On the front of the Voyager 835 is the multifunction button in the form of a recessed dot toward the top of the headset. Underneath it is an LED indicator, followed by a recessed strip that also houses the first of two microphones. The second microphone is located at the bottom of the headset. The volume buttons are on the right side, and the charger jack is on top. We had no trouble pressing the buttons, though we did think the volume keys are on the small side.Flip the headset over and you'll find a rubberized ear tip as well as a flexible translucent plastic ear hook. The ear tip is meant to fit snugly in the ear, with the tip acting as an anchor within the outer folds of the ear. It takes a little while to fit it in, but once we did, it did stay there quite securely. According to Plantronics, this snug fit leads to all-day comfort, but we did wish there were different sized ear tips for a more customized fit. We should also note that the ear hook is not optional, but you can twist it around to fit either ear.As far as features go, the Voyager 835 is pretty basic. You can answer and end calls by tapping on the multifunction button, and you can also check the battery power by holding down both the multifunction button and the volume down button for about 2 seconds. (The more the red LED flashes, the less battery it has.) The Voyager 835 supports last number redial and voice-activated dialing as long as your phone supports it. It also has the capability to transfer calls from the headset to the phone and vice versa. One great feature is that the Voyager 835 supports multipoint pairing, meaning it can connect to two Bluetooth devices at one time.We tested the Plantronics Voyager 825 Bluetooth headset with the Apple iPhone 3G. Thanks to the Quickpair process, the headset goes automatically into pairing mode the first time it's turned on. Call quality was very good, because of the aforementioned AudioIQ technology and the dual microphone digital signal processing that eliminates background noise--one microphone captures surrounding noise while the other microphone focuses on your voice. Since the mics are omnidirectional, we didn't need to properly align the microphones to our mouths like with the Callpod Dragon V2, which is a good thing. The addition of Windsmart technology is also very helpful in windy situations. We tested ours in front of a regular desktop fan, and were still able to communicate to our callers, albeit with raised voices. On their end, callers said our voice sounded loud and clear, but with a slightly tinny and hollow quality. That said, overall sound quality was still quite impressive. The Plantronics Voyager 835 has a rated talk time of 5 hours and a standby time of seven days. It comes with an in-car charger plus an AC charger.

I wear my blue tooth device any wear from 10 to 16 hours of the day, so I require a device that is very comfortable, has excellent sound quality, is very dependable and connects easily. The Plantronics Voyager is the best all around hands free blue tooth device I have yet to try. It is the most comfortable, the most durable, the most reliable, has the best sound quality and connects the best (with all the many different phones I have used) of any other device I have tried and I have tried a bunch of different brands and styles. My wife and kids have been the beneficiaries of my discards.Comfort - It simply is the best fit of any of the devices I have tried. I have tried several other Plantronics devices including the 510 and PRO, multiple Motorola devices, and various other brands. I forget it is in my ear and I don't get a sore ear after I wear it all day. It doesn't impeded sound around me and yet fits well enough to sufficiently block out normal side noise interference during conversation.Durability - My Voyagers have been washed and dried, dropped, kicked, stepped on and continue to function without issue. There are only two reasons I've had one stop working. After several years of my abuse one battery no longer maintained a charge and one I ran over with my truck in an airport drop off. I drove around came back and retrieved it. There is no telling how many other vehicles ran it over. It still worked but do to its new configuration could no longer fit in my ear or receive a charge.Sound quality - Easily the best sound quality of all the devices I have tried. (Yes, even better than the highly acclaimed Voyager Pro and it's comparable Motorola device which did not fit my ear at all.) I base the sound quality on not only on how well I hear others but also on how they hear me and I have been told repeatedly that I am heard much better when using the Voyager 520.Negative Issues - The only negative issues I have had with the Voyager 520 is: The over the ear piece is a little thick for those of use who wear glasses, and I have had the soft rubber part of the over the ear piece and the rubber insert come loose and require gluing. That is it, except maybe they should make it stronger to withstand a few more thousand pounds in case I run one over again.

I have a Tracfone LG420g (from Wal-mart - not AMAZON). It came with an ear piece, but no receptical to put it in! In the description it said it was Bluetooth capable, so when I saw this on Amazon, it sounded like a good deal to me. Cost-wise, I didn't expect too much - and all I really needed was something I could use hands-free when driving. Aside from a slight 'tinny' sound at times, it works GREAT! As I said, I have a Tracfone, which is never top of the line equipment. It is adequate for my needs, which is basicly for emergency purposes. Plantronics has a good rep, and this did live up to my expectations. All those people who insist on driving while holding their phone need to get a grip - this PROBABLY is less expensive than what your phone or wireless plan costs you....and it might save your life (and MINE!).

First off, I'll say that this is a very comfy headset. Sometimes I forget I'm wearing it. Now, I'm not one to talk for hours on the phone. I just like the convenience of not having to stop what I'm doing to answer the phone. I have a touchscreen phone, and I was constantly muting my calls or hanging up on people when holding it with my shoulder. Since I only use it a few times a day, this thing seems to have endless battery life, though if I was always on the phone like some people, I might have a lesser opinion of the battery life. Sound quality is pretty good. It's plenty loud, and nobody has complained of being unable to hear or understand me.I also use the 520 as a Playstation 3 headset, and it seems to work very well for that application as well. The only thing I could possibly complain about here is the charger. The charger comes in two pieces, in between which you are supposed to thread the charging cord, and then snap it back together. This took too many minutes of my life to accomplish. But once it's done, it works great and is extremely compact, so it never gets in the way. I'm no headset snob, but this seems like a pretty good one to me.

When I got my Bluetooth enabled phone, I started poking around looking for a good headset. The more I looked, it seemed, the more features I wanted. Once I prioritized my "needs" it came down to 2. One, it had to sound good and two, it had to do both stereo and mono. In other words, it had to work as a normal Bluetooth for when I am in the car, and it had to do stereo for when I want to listen to music at work.To tell you the truth, that list of demands came from reading about this headset. The problem was that at the time it was almost $150; way too much for a "toy." So I have been watching it for almost a year and finally decided to pounce when I saw it here on Amazon at $35.For your phone:I was prepared for some problems with the headset, as when reading reviews of BT headsets in general, I know that being able to hear and be heard can be troublesome at times. I was surprised to find that the sound quality was outstanding, in both directions. I live in Florida, and usually have my truck window down. This causes no problems for either hearing, or being heard. The only wind problem I found is if the wind blows directly into the mic... which you can hear yourself and adjust for. If there is even moderate amounts of noise, such as in a crowd, it still works fine. You can also use the stereo headset to block outside noise even further, though I am sure there is a limit to what the mic can filter going the other way... except I can't say I have found it yet.For stereo:I listen to internet radio on my phone at work. Considering that this is already compressed audio, I don't have any problems with it as far as sound quality goes. I get full stereo with Pandora (window mobile phone)and also broadcasts via the Shoutcast.com website. The sound quality is more that adequate, including decent base and reasonable highs. (remember that this is compressed audio, so some little bit of warble with the highs is part of the package for me) All in all, the sound is comparable, if not better than the stereo corded ear buds I used to use. The cord for the stereo bud is very light weight and cloth covered, thus greatly reducing cord noise while jogging etc for you athletics out there.A note on range... I tend to pace while I work, and I can walk around a good bit of my office without problems of it dropping out. If it does drop out, reconnect is automatic. I can walk to my water cooler, which is 20 ft away through 2 walls with no problem. As many have mentioned, getting a good fit is the key to good base and sound overall. Definitely take the time to buy ear buds if the 4 pairs (3 gel and 1 foam) that come with it don't fit. It can make the difference between a ho hum experience and one that will knock your socks off. Not only that, but with a good fit, this unit is light enough that you do not need the ear hooks. The best part... no need to buy two separate headsets and carry them around. All I carry now is my headset and it's little leather pouch (included in package) with the extra ear buds, charger and stereo hook.Overall:Good fit... Great sound and record for phone... good stereo... effortless switch from normal BT to stereo BT... Your #1 all in one BT headset.

I got this last Wednesday. After a few attempts I was able to get it connected to my phone. I tested it and sound was good for both me and the person on the other end. The range was also good. Thought this was going to be great.I left it on the charger so it would be ready and today, one week later, when I realy needed to use it it would not come on. The light does not come on when plugged into the charger and it will not work! Will not charge, will not work.Guess that is good for one use and I waisted that use by testing it!I will be checking into returning it.

There are many reasons I've never gotten a bluetooth(BT) headset. The standouts were because I have small ears, anything that's suppose to sit in them comfortably, from earbud headphones to these BT headsets have either not stayed put, or been extremely, painfully uncomfortable. The other reason is because I always hated the tunnel sound. Feeling like I have to speak up for someone to hear me(shouting at yourself in target? no, you're on a headset) has just never been on my to do list.It was VERY easy to sync with my virgin mobile cell, and took about 20 seconds. I glanced over the easy to read manual, but it wasn't even really necessary. Also, very sexy, sleek look.So despite shying away from bluetooth until now, I am a Real Estate Broker, so it was long overdue. I'm the idiot who's been shouting at her GPS for a year. While I think it's a great feature on my GPS, it's not exactly meant for chit chat. People ask if I'm on another planet, because it's echo-y and perma-tunnel. I'm sure everyone who talks to me now will be happy to see I've upgraded from hollering at my GPS to this fancy thing. The sound quality is amazing, I was actually shocked. It was crystal clear and better quality then if I were to be talking directly on my cell. I used it both being the 'caller' and being on the receiving end of a call with someone else using this headset. So there goes one of the reasons I have not gotten one.The other...my teeny tiny ears. This was surprisingly comfortable for me. There are three eartip sizes of jelly clear cushiony material that fit over the ear piece, so the smallest was the best for me. I think with the three choices, this should work well for anyone. While I won't say it was dreamy comfort, it was a feeling I can get used to and didn't cause pain, which is saying a lot for me. For most regular Bluetooth headset users, I think this will be optimal comfort. It's very light and you'd forget you're wearing it.I like that you can tap the headset to answer calls, as well as using it power on and off, end a call, and transfer between earpiece and phone. Theres a volume control and mute button as well. Pretty much anything you'd want for a headset! There's also "windsmart", which plantronics describes as "three way wind noise protection" so that you don't get that scratchy windy noise being heard by the person you're calling.Lastly, the charging case! OMG! What an amazing idea! Its a charger and case in one. You can charge the case, for later use when the headset is low on juice, or you can charge them both when at home. You can also pick up a car charger for 20 bucks. Plus the case feels very sturdy, so you know that having it with your BT headset rolling around in your deep dark purse is not going to break it.All in all, I'm in love! I think this is a fantastic headset, even for a newcomer like me. Now, I only wish it worked with my office phone.

When my Motorola bluetooth recently died, I started searching for a new one. I settled on the Plantronics Voyager 520 because of the good reviews and the good value it represented for me. I looked at higher priced options that had more features --- but I really didn't need voice-control or some of the other bells and whistles being offered. The reviews indicated that this one would give me good sound quality and noise reduction and that's all I really wanted. I have had it for a few weeks and it has delivered on both those attributes. I am very happy with it. If you are looking for a basic, good quality bluetooth, this is it. For the money, it is a great value.

I get complaints from everyone about the noise. They have trouble hearing me. Also you can't get more than tree feet from you phone or you will get static and sometimes if I even put the phone in my Pocket I get the same static noise. No I would not buy this product again.
