Microphone broken after normal use for 2 months. The microphone is not physically damaged in any obvious way, but computers no longer pick up any sound from the mic. Would give it one star, but at least the headphones still work...

Horrible headset. Worked perfectly for a wonderful three minutes. USB connection was flimsy and kept cutting out/unplugging itself. Sound died in headphones after four "uses" and the next day the microphone died as well. Would NEVER recommend this headset to anyone.

not great sound for music, but adequate for skype. my biggest problem is that the headset squeaks and crackles like crazy when any pressure is applied to the band or earpieces. it could use some felt or UMMV material in the joints to prevent this. this is not a problem with the speakers mind you, rather with the chassis that surrounds them. I've put up with this for a few years, but am now looking for a better solution

I have the wireless version of these headphones. Plantronics Audio 995 Wireless Stereo Headset I got these because they look almost identical except for the fact that they are not wireless. However, these headphones are significantly worse than the wireless version, .Audio 995.Pros:1) You don't have to worry about a battery.2) These feel more sturdy than the .Audio 995 in the headband area.Cons:1) The .Audio 655 are much tighter around the ears. It doesn't look like it could be all that comfortable for anyone. The .Audio 995 almost feel broken they are so loose and comfortable.2) There is lots of background noise. If you touch the mic with your finger, you can hear it in the speakers. This does not happen with the .Audio 995. On the wireless version, I hear zero background noise.3) The USB plug is very large and can block or interfere with other devicesI would recommend the .Audio 995 except you cannot replace the battery or talk while recharging them. I really like the quality of the .Audio 995 in terms of comfort and quality of the mic and speakers. I would buy the .Audio 995 or another brand. There are too many downsides to the .Audio 655.I use these with Linux and they are plug and play with Skype. Both the .Audio 995 and .Audio 655 are plug and play with Skype. Skype for Linux is a very old version so you will have all the usual fun of Skype not recognizing device changes properly, but a quick restart of Skype or the connection session fixes that.

I bought this for my sister who needs to have a good headset to skype with her boyfriend in North America, and we tried it at home first. We didn't expect such a good quality for its price, but it's really good and the material is nice and handy. Would recommend it for sure.

I was in need of a headset to use while on Skype, and after a little shopping around I found these here on Amazon. They work perfectly and my voice comes in loud and clear-everyone noticed the difference immediately. As headphones they aren't bad at all, but certainly not the quality you could get from spending a bit more money. For the casual headset user these are perfect; they represent the ideal blend of cost-effective and functional.I've been using mine for more than three months now with no issues.

I give this 3 stars as the stereo sound is very good, but the headset is too tight for a woman's medium size head, and the ear cups are squared off, making it very uncomfortable to wear after only a few minutes. My ears are about medium in size for a woman. I will have to find another pair that do not put so much pressure on the cartilage of the ears.

I bought this to replace an older logitech microphone that my cat broke.Out of the box, all I had to do was plug it in (Windows 7 64 bit), and it worked immediately.The sound quality is crisp and clear, with a decent amount of bass, but not enough to punch your eardrums out if you accidentally turn the volume up too high.As for comfort, they fit my ears EXACTLY. I feel as if I could wear these for hours with no discomfort afterwards, whether it be from having my ears pinched or the top of my head being pressed down on from the top. All the padding is in the right places.Aesthetically, I think they look pretty cool, especially the blue accents inside the actual headphones. The volume controls on the side of the left headphone are kind of cool, but I wish they were on the right, so I could use them with my dominant hand more easily.You can mute the mic by swinging the boom up, which sounds cool on paper, but I wish there was a 1-button solution, like a button on the headset or somewhere along the cable, but skype has a mute function anyway, so it's not a dealbreaker.The construction feels sturdy enough for me to not worry about dropping it or being a little rough with it, but I'm careful around my electronics anyways. Of special note (to me, anyways) is the fact that the wires connecting each ear to each other are enclosed inside the headset, With other headsets, I've had problems with those falling out of their grooves and laying on my head. Obviously, this won't be a problem with these. The wire is a pretty good length, but not annoyingly long enough to lead to a mass of unused wires to get tangled. Though I use this with a laptop, I could easily use it on a desktop without having to hunch over it or anything.Overall, I'm extremely happy with what I got here, considering the money I paid for it, and I'd recommend it to anyone.

Sound quality is good, Recording quality is good. The controls on the cord don't work. I purchased 2 headsets and the mute doesnt work on either at all which is very disappointing since they are used solely for phone calls(mute is important). If/When the mute does work you cant get the control back off mute and the contact on the other end of the call thinks your not there. I Cannot say anything other than I am Very Disappointed in this Plantronics product! ****Note - after writing this review I contacted the Plantronics website. (I had registered my purchase/product) I requested replacement due to the mute defect. They are shipping me 2 replacement headsets and requesting I return the 2 I purchased. I will update this review later regarding the new headsets. **Keep your fingers crossed. I really hope the new ones work as they should.

I bought this about 10 months ago to use with Skype. For the first several months, it worked just fine, then about 2 months ago, I started getting complaints that people couldn't hear me, even though I could hear them just fine. If i wiggle the mouthpiece around, it sometimes fixes the problem, but obviously, that is not how this is supposed to work. A wire or a connection inside the headset has gone bad. I'm going to see if I can get Amazon to take it back and find another one that has better ratings.

I purchased the Plantronics 665 DSP headset for a number of webinar that I subscribe to. I had some reservation to purchase this unit but I analyzed the complaints, they seemed to be "picky" and not related to the quality of the headset. Some criticisms such as "cable too thin".., "feel too small and tight"..."mike too sensitive" ..."feedback" and others are fair evaluations of the product. And how does one evaluate a defected one? Exchange it, get one that works and then evaluate it. One can always receive a defective unit, not nice but it happened..., also, make sure that the noise issues are not in your computer system. After all, the headset is designed to reproduce frequencies that it is sent, not create new ones. Speaker volume and/or mike gain set incorrectly can produce noises and feedback.I received the product and quickly unpackaged them. After reading the instructions, I inserted the USB connector in one of my USB plugs. I am running Vista® in a 64 bit environment. I followed the directions and tested them. The audio quality is supper! I tested the volume control on the headset--worked great! I then proceeded to set the mike gain through the applet in the control panel. I then went on line and tested the headset with a number of services. All comments were great and complementary. Just plug them, adjust the volume and mike gain. No external drivers required!The headset is made of plastic [what isn't?], dark grey in color. They are light weight, with adjustable headband. The left ear speaker contains a blue LED power ON indicator and volume adjustment. Each ear speaker is hanged about the middle of the speaker housing so that it will fit the ear correctly. The ear and head padding is soft and conferrable. The mike boom is flexible and can be moved up/down vertically for correct positioning. After wearing the headset for a number of hours on numerous occasions, I conclude that they are as expected. They do sit on the ear and NOT over the ear, which could pose a problem with users with large ears. This is not an issue for me. They are conferrable and do seal the ear from side noise.Update:I originally gave this product a 5 but I've changed it to 3 because after wearing the headset for over half-hour, my ears began to hurt, and my ears are normal adult size. The audio quality is great but the comfort is poor. I would NOT recommend this headset to anyone for this reason.

after an hour i felt my ears hurting and i had to readjust them every few minutes. Then i noticed the speakers started to crackle as if they were blown out when playing music. returning these asap. Don't know if they were a bad pair.. but the comfort was enough for a different pair.

Pro:Exellent headphone audio quality. Excellent microphone with excellent sound recording quality. I have a Yeti microphone and I think this Plantronics is good for most uses. Microphone turns off when placed in up position.Con:Cheap plastic and probably will break in a short time. Volume control which is shown in the instructions as being in-line is really on the headset itself and "doesn't work", anyway. But, you can use the volume control on the computer program. Mute which is shown in the instructions as being in-line, doesn't even exist anywhere on the headset.==========================It's hard to evaluate price on this item because you can't find anything comparable at this price that is USB and works well, and, at the same time is so cheaply made and doesn't function as described (i.e. volume control). It probably will not last many days, but I've searched and can't find something at this price, and that is all a headset is worth, unless you're looking for great gaming headsets or are an audiophile.My ears are larger than most. The earpieces sit on the ear itself and I doubt that any adult with any size ears will fit "in" the earpiece. But, that's not a deal breaker with me, it still feels fairly comfortable. I can't tell if hours of use would change my opinion.I would give it a 5 on sound and a 1 on manufacturing quality and functionality. Therefore, a 2 is the best I can rate this item.===============================Well, I finally had some time to endure the headsets. I can tell you that after 2 hours of wearing the headsets my ears "killed" me. They are not comfortable. I tried adjusting in numerous positions... forward, backward,opened wider, raised higher. It did not help after an additional 3 hours, I was ready to kill myself with pain. Luckily, I don't need to wear the headsets other than when my wife and I are listening to different audio from our respective computers.So, my suggestion, if you need to wear the headsets often, look somewhere else. This is unfortunate because the audio and mic are so good on this headset. Too bad for Plantronics!!! Maybe earbuds would be better.

This headset does not have 64-bit compatability even though it states it works for XP 64bit and Windows 7 64bit. There is an eco when on calls and lots of feedback.

even though the product description clearly states they are noise canceling. They are NOT. Other wise they seem to work OK.Instructions in the package were not for the device purchased. They are also not very comfortable. unfortunately I needed something urgently so these will have to do.

Probably a great headset, but I wasn't able to use it. It does not say on the box that it's not compatible with Windows 7 64bit. I bought it in a store, got it home and plugged it in and my computer instantly blue screened. Had to return.

The audio quality is acceptable, though not fantastic, they're a little louder than your average headphone, the mic might be a little low but certainly workable. They're good enough for gaming through, which is great for their range, and you can listen to music through them, though I wouldn't call it hi-fi, they wouldn't be offensive (when it comes to sound, your mileage may vary). They are built well enough but seem like they could snap or fall apart if mishandled, but I've had them for months now. The mic makes my voice sound good and I've been complimented on it over the old Carcharias headset I had, which is far above this price range. Actually, I'm entirely more happy with these than the Carcharias, the sound is less pitchy as well. Certainly good enough for chatting with too. Don't expect miracles, but you could possibly expect more than you paid for, a solid buy for anyone who needs a headset for most purposes.

I bought this product in 2009. About a year after using them the wire connection on the USB-end became faulty and did not work consistently. This eventually resulted in the headphones being unusable which is unfortunate because the sound and mic quality were fantastic.If you choose to use these headphones, be cautious of where you plug them in to make sure you don't put too much strain on the wires.

This is a very good one ear headset for those that want to have one ear exposed to know what's going on around them while the headset is in use. At first I was not sure this would work well on a PC for gaming use, but it turns out it works very well.Pros:Sound quality for one ear headset is very good.Volume control button can overrides PC sound volume.Mouth piece bends/adjusts to ones desired positionDoes not feel tight on your head like some headsetsUSBCons:The headsets wire is very thin and flimsy feeling (see main picture), which may have durability issues down the road.The hefty volume controls are always pulling down on the thin wire due to its weight, which adds to my concern for long term use.

Upon the recommendation of my Tech Guru, Leo LaPorte, I bought the USB Plantronic 655 headphones to use for Google Voice Calls and Skype. Here are some of the things I noticed about these headphones.PlusPlug them in and they work. You don't need a CD or special drivers. You may need to go to the Control Panel or your Sound Program to choose the Plantronics as your default drivers.MinusThey are a bit uncomfortable, especially at the beginning. You can loosen them up, but I wouldn't want to wear these all day long unless you've got really small ears.GoodI tested the audio quality using Audacity as my recorder. You can see a little background noise from my computer. It then picks up some of the noise from my nose breathing out and then the voice recording.BADThe box also includes instructions which are wrong. They show headset controls which are not for this particular model. You'll have to search online to figure out how to do Volume Up/Down and Mute. The Volume controls are on the left earpiece and you mute by moving the microphone up.Good- PriceAt only $30.00 this is a good solution for short recordings and phone calls.Overall, I will keep these for my Windows 7 laptop to use for quick recordings and phone calls.Note you can find my review with pictures at[...]

I have only had these headphones for a few days and yet there is a consistent buzzing in the left side of the set. That is by far my worst issue with these. Don't get me wrong though, there are some good qualities.The good+the microphone works fantastically as long as you keep it bellow your mouth by your chin+quality of voice is good for the price+if you have smaller ears they fit over/around them very well+if you like a tighter fit these are pretty snugThe bad-sound quality is pretty mediocre-can break easily and quicklyWhile there seem to be more pros I think the cons outway them. I would not recommend this headset.

I've been using this Plantronics headset for 3 months now, mainly for work. I've never had good luck with headsets, but this one has definitely been the exception to the rule so far. The incoming sound clarity on the headset is excellent, I've asked others how my voice quality is for them and they have all said it is great. When I have plugged it in to use on my personal computer, I get the same results, excellent quality. I'm ordering a couple more now, since I've had such good luck with it....one for personal use and one for a backup.

Product arrived in the box looking brand new as advertised. The quality of the product was exactly as I suspected after closely examining the in depth photos that were provided. It fits comfortably and the sound quality is top notch. The Bass may be a bit high however I'm not one to complain and the sound while playing my games still sounds exquisite. As far as the delivery of the product is concerned, I received free shipping from Amazon based on the amount of my purchase and it arrived rather quickly. Although the initial progress of my tracking number showed that my package was to be delivered between February 1 and February 6, it arrived in pristine condition on January 31st.All in all, a very good experience with both Amazon.com and the providers of my product, 'POS Geeks'. Not only would I recommend these headsets to any of my fellow PC gamers, but I would also recommend going through Amazon and POS Geeks because of their quick service and exceptional product.
