These headsets are very uncomfortable. Their only adjustment is to make the head band larger, so it's not as tight against the ears. Doing this makes the very loose on the head - so you have a choices. Loose fitting on top but no pain on your ears, or vice versa.My biggest gripe with them is the sound quality. Everything sounds muffled - incoming and outgoing. I used them for Skype and Ventrilo, and they get a very strong thumbs down for both. I was told my headsets were picking up a large amount of background noise and static, and that my voice sounded like i was talking through a mask. Incoming, everything had an underwater quality to them.I attempted to adjust, and found an 'acceptable' setting, but it was only acceptable until the Logitech Gaming Headset G330 (Black) I purchased to replaced them arrived.These headsets are not good enough for a hardcore user - steer clear.

I like everything about this headset save for the weight of it. After a fairly long period of time the headset gets a little uncomfortable around the ears. If it was not for this fact, I would rate it five stars, but to me, comfort is just as important as performance.I use the headset for Skype and it works wonderfully for that application. Everyone I speak with says my voice comes through loud and clear. Likewise the people I speak with come through very clear on my end. I like the volume control button on the earpiece and the swivel microphone. One odd omission is a mute button on the headset or anywhere at all on the set. The earpieces do a great job of blocking out external sound.I have tried using the instrument as a headset for my PS3 and for some reason it will not work. Though the system recognizes the set and actually displays the name, it does not accept sound from the microphone or play sound back through the headset. I've tried numerous times to try to configure the set, but I get the same result.As far as listening to music through them I can't really comment. The music I have heard through them sounds good to me, but that isn't the main reason why I purchased this set.

Sound quality is excellent and they keep what is said to you private if there was a way to keep what you say private that would even be better, I have also found that these are good with Dragon dictation programming.

I ordered this based on recommendation from a podcast guide, but it appears I was fully duped on this one. This headset is terrible. When you first open it up you can see that they have skimped on several things, such as a really thin (and short) USB cable, no mute button on the cord, and the ear pads are pretty small so they won't fit over the average person's ears comfortably.The really killer here is that the sound quality for both playback and recording are awful. I'm not looking for professional quality for $30, but this headset crackles and introduces static A LOT. They would seem to work okay with some programs, but with others they were atrocious and unusable.I'd rather pay up another $20-$30 for a more reliable and better quality product. I'm returning these and rolling my refund into another set.

Got these a few weeks ago, and they sound fine, but the earpieces were painfully uncomfortable, with no padding, and no way to adjust the head width. I made my own padding inserts, and they've been fine since then, but if I'd been able to try them on, I'd have chosen a different design.

Straight out of the box, I plugged the unit into my netbook (XP) and it worked. I also tried it on my work PC (Win 7) and it worked. The headset is not terribly comfortable but it is not UNcomfortable. The cord has plenty of length. The manufacturers packaging was a little excessive but I guess it protects the unit.

This is quite a good product for the money. It does everything I want it to, and then some. The headphone sound is quite good for the price and the mic quality does the trick. I bought it mostly for use with my netbook on the road to hear tunes and to make internet phone calls...It'll do that quite well. But the added bonus is, I can also listen to cd's and radio stations over the internet with good sound quality. Don't expect the sound quality to be as good as a good set of cans, like Sennheiser's, but on the other hand, the price is a fraction of that of a good set of cans.Bottom line? Good value.P.S.So far as opening the package is concerned, yes, it is a bit difficult. But I got it open. The way I see it, if a monkey can open a banana, humans should be able to open a package...and I did.

I have a phone headset from Plantronics and bought this one because the phone headset was great. I spent almost an hour trying to set up this computer headset. At first my computer would not recognize anything from the microphone. I tried it on another computer, and there was a very faint sound when I had the microphone setting turned up to its highest and spoke very loudly. Also the wires that connect the earphones to the headset seem to be loose and look like they might come apart easily. Totally useless for Skype, which was what I wanted it for. Bad choice and a waste of money.

I was very disappointed with the Plantronics Audio 655 headset. The biggest problem I had was when I disconnected the headset my Windows XP machine would not switch back to the internal audio without rebooting first. Also sometimes the headset would not work everytime even though it was selected in the audio preferences. I've never had this kind of problem with a USB device on this machine before. The second thing I didn't like was the audio quality. There was almost no high freq response at all. In addition to that, the headset was not comfortable at all. I was constantly repositioning them because of pressure on my ears. Maybe this was just a "newness" problem and it would go away after a break-in period, but I hated them so much I just quit using them after the first week. The microphone worked pretty well during the short time I used it.

I use this headset to teach an online course through adobe connect. The microphone sounds great I am told and the earpieces allow others to sound great. It was a great buy and I would buy this again.

This microphone doesn't work on Mac hardware. Mac's only have "Line-in" ports, not "Microphone" ports. The box says all over it that it is "compatible with Windows", but there is no mention anywhere (or on this site) of being incompatible with Mac's. Just bought myself a dud mic...

I bought these to as replacements for Rosetta Stone, which uses voice recognition software. These are among the worst I've tried. They only pick up about every 3rd or 4th syllable & R.S. can't understand anything I'm saying. They'll go in the trash.

It's not often that I get something from Amazon that sucks (mostly thanks to very helpful customer reviews). This headset is awful. It's terribly uncomfortable. Perhaps I have a large head, but the pressure on my ears was very tight. The noise cancelling is horrible - didn't seem to work at all. It was almost anti-noise cancelling because I could hear everything going on in our office while using them. After using them about 5 times, they started producing horrible feedback and scratchy noise. Maybe I just got a defective unit (microphone problem is my guess), but I would not purchase this headset again. Since I can't return it for a refund because I don't have the original packaging, I'll be contacting the manufacture requesting a refund - because I certainly don't want a new one because wearing it is so uncomfortable.

Love the headset couldn't beat the value either. I'm used to using ear buds so it took a bit of getting used to having them cover my ears. As for ease of use plug them in and my system recognizes them them in seconds. They are nice and loud and the microphone is crisp and clear as wellSmall issue with unplugging because my system doesn't readily want to switch back to default speakers. But its not enough of a problem for me to take off any points since I'm not constantly plugging and unplugging them. Also a minor glitch with static on YouTube videos that happens once in a blue moon where they will go to static but it is solved with a quick refresh of the page so i doubt it is the headphones fault

I bought this headset to use with Google Voice, as I was sick of dealing with lousy cell coverage in my apartment and people complaining they couldn't hear me on the phone. The first time I plugged them into my Macbook I had to select them by hand as speaker/microphone in the sound settings control panel, but since then they simply work automatically. Works like a charm with Google Voice - call quality is super clear and no problems with people being able to understand me. I've worn the set for up to an hour talking on the phone and didn't notice any discomfort, and the on-headphone volume adjustment buttons are a nice extra. Not bad for thirty bucks - exactly what I was looking for.

I was deciding between all the featured items on the Amazon list when searching for "usb headset" and came to the conclusion to buy this one, due to the good price and good looks of the item.I was afraid it might be too small for my ears as some other reviewers have pointed out, but it hasn't given me a problem. They are somewhat small but I solve this by putting a hood over my head and then putting the headset on. It is extremely comfortable that way and does not lose any sound quality whatsoever.The microphone works excellent with my computer, it installed right away and had no problem working with Rosetta Stone. (Which my other one did have)It looks very slick and has great quality. The price I bought it for was around $30 here on Amazon at this time, which was a good price in my opinion.Great purchase and I doubt you will be disappointed.Jerome Garot

The only problem I had with these was that the cups rest on my ears. So, no matter how soft the cushions are (and they were very soft), after a short time (about 2-hours) my ears hurt to the point where I couldn't wear this headset anymore. I do have large ears, but it would take smaller ears than an adult could have in order for these cups to not rest on them, so they likely will hurt your ears, too.Everything else about them was great. Sound clarity, sensitivity of the microphone, quality of the construction, and the USB instead of 1/8" plugs was awesome. If you aren't planning on wearing these for very long at a time, or you have really small ears, I'd recommend them. Otherwise, I'd look for something with larger ear-cups that rest around your ears instead of on them.

I'm disappointed and frustrated with this pair. My computer has a plug in for the headset and mic in the front and in the back, but the microphone will not work and I think it has to do with Microsoft's new Vista program. I've tried to troubleshoot with IT people but can't get them to work. I don't want to have to add on a USB port. I've looked up this problem on the internet and it seems this has been happening to a lot of people. I'm sure the microphone works perfectly but with an older program.

These phones are the best I've ever tried. They work on all my operating systems without a hitch (Windows, Linux and Apple). I use them for recording my voice, Skype and Google Voice. People on the other end of the conversation tell me the sound is loud and clear, and better than they've heard from me before. The input and output volumes are adjustable through the computer's settings feature. The volume in the headset is also adjustable on the left earphone except when I'm using Google Voice. There, I have to go into the Chat settings to adjust the volume (it's very loud). It's also necessary, when using Skype or Google Voice, to change the settings so that the computer uses the usb phones rather than the default microphone and speakers. Once you do that, you're done. Happy broadcasting. My next project is to put a piece of foam over the microphone to keep from popping my "Ps."2013 UPDATE!I still own these headphones and they still work like new. No complaints!

The headset works pretty good overall. They seem a little cheap the mute/microphone control button seems to be breaking from the first time I used it but it is still working. If you are looking for a cheap set of headphone/microphone this is not a completely bad choice.

It's comfortable, decently priced, decently durable, easy to use, and all and all a pretty standard headset. However, I ranked this headset a 2/5 because I'm currently in the process of buying another. You get what you pay for and it's decent in that regard, but my online friends have complained that the poor voice quality makes it hard to understand what I'm saying at times. It's important to me that the people who I speak to understand me clearly, so I will be buying another, higher quality, headset with better voice transmission.

This is a favorite of mine over the years - gone thru many many headsets of different brands and always come back to Plantronics.The package is very hard to break into but a razor knife was all that's needed. The one thing I must comment on is that the mute button on the line is not as durable in the more recent ones I've had but yet you cannot beat this head set for the money!

I recently purchase this headset, mostly for taking internet phone call, like Skype and Google Voice. The sound quality was great. The equipment was easy to use as well. Considering its low cost, it is a great choices.Beyond that, I have a few points to share with future buyers: (1) it has slight background noise on speaker side and strong noise on the listening side when I take the internet call, like Google Voice. I am not sure what causes the problem since my old cheapy headset has no such problems at all. Sometimes, I have to switch to the old one to avoid noisy sound. However, it has almost no problem when listening the music. (2) The USB connection has the biggest problem. The laptop (I used XP-Pro) can not freely switched from its regular audio output to the USB output. There is no hardware/software switch to let you do this. This is really annoying and I almost give up using it.

I am a regular contributor to This Week in Media, a show produced by the Pixel Corps and often streamed line on Leo Laporte's TWiT network. After a considerable amount of research ahead of my first appearance, I picked up a Plantronics .audio 655 headset.I was not disappointed. This is an exceptional headset especially for those looking to start podcasting.Audio in both directions is crystal clear. The microphone picks up a considerable range of sound for a sub $40 product. No driver installs were necessary on my Mac, just plug in and point your application at the headset which appears as a "Generic USB audio device." Audio output is equally clear, due in part to the noise isolation achieved through the "ear muff" design.I share the concerns of other Amazon reviewers in regards to the quality of the connection cable. It is very thin and the connection points feel fragile. Additionally, the entire device is a bit bulky and doesn't transport well, so gamers looking for something small and lightweight to carry to events may want to look elsewhere. And as great as the noise isolation is, it isolates so much noise that it is often difficult to hear yourself talking.The bottom line? If you're a podcaster looking for an inexpensive way to get started look no further. Gamers and skypers might want to look for something a little less bulky and portable.

I had to manually adjust the db boost setting in windows 7 to get the microphone to pick up enough sound. +20 or +30 should do it. It was the same with 3 different computers of mine and all three of those computers use different models of soundcards, so the problem was not the soundcard. In any case you, should not have to do this, so I would suggest avoiding this item

For anyone who uses a 64-bit operating system and experiences a clicking sound with this headset when music gets a bit more bass in it, I think I've found a fix. It's worked for me so hopefully if you have this problem it should work for you. I know this isn't a review but I came here first when i had the problem to see if others had it also so I assume others might do the same.Right click on the volume icon in the system tray and click "playback devices". Click on the headset then press "Properties". Go to the Enhancements tab, check the "Bass Boost" box. (This seems counter-intuitive but bear with me, this does work). Once you've checked the box, click "Settings". Set the Boost Level to "None". Here's the important bit; set the frequency to 100 Hz. If this only partially fixes the issue for you, try different frequencies until it works for you.Hope this helps someone.

I purchased the headphones in order to use Skype for long distance communications with other Skype users. They were inexpensive, easy to install and the sound clarity is great for that purpose. Also, very light and confortable if I have them on for a long period of time.

The Plantronics Audio 326 Stereo PC Headset surpassed my expectations in this price range. Compared to others I have owned they are more comfortable with extra ear padding. The sound is evenly balanced and good for both CDs and VOIP. They are sturdier than many other brands and the cord is long. The in-line separate earphone volume and mike mute controls are an extra nice touch. Why not all 5 stars? Mike only folds down completely in one direction, longer cord length needed if your computer is on the floor or under a desk, and earphone pads could swivel even more for greater comfort. A great buy for the money!

The headset was easy to set up, however, it really lacks the features that you'd really want in a headset:- The mic should be reversable so that the boom can be on the right or left side of your face.- There should be a volume control and/or a mute control.- The headset should be comfortable and adjustable. While this does adjust, the ear pieces just don't seem to fit right.- The mic is overly sensitive. I don't like to consider myself a heavy breather, but it picks up the breath from your nose.I previously had a logitech and that worked great. It pains me to have to buy another headset, but I liked the Logitech so much more. You never think about the little things until they're not there. Spend the extra couple of dollars on the Logitech.

I bought this because I use a Plantronics headset at work, which is great. But this headset is very low end and totally rubbish. Its made of stiff plastic so it doesn't expand very well and gave me a headache after 15 minutes. The sound and microphone is pretty good though.

Simply put, this headset is light and comfortable. A lot of my gaming friends use special headphones for their experience, but they tend to be extremely bulky and heavy. I, personally, don't have the biggest head so these are perfect for my preference. I honestly forget they're on most of the time.Recently one of my pets chewed through the wire... I'm buying a second one. Yep... they're that good.

I was pleasantly surprised at the sound quality of this low priced Plantronics headset. They work wonderfully well with Netflix and Pandora and my Dragon dictation software. IMHO no need to spend much more money for famous brands.

I am a frequent user of Skype in my work and have worn out several headsets, with leads becoming intermittent. So my new strategy is to use an inexpensive headset which I can easily replace. After reading reviews I bought the Plantronics headset for under $15 and am very pleased with it. The sound and microphone quality is good and it is quite comfortable to wear for long periods, and compares favorably with previous headsets costing several times the price. At this price I can easily replace it if anything goes wrong. It is also nice and compact which is useful if I am using video. Recommended.

It is a nice headset, the only thing i have against it is that it is so lightly made.I am ALWAYS careful with it because I always think i am going to break it.This also leads to discomfort, i end up wearing it at an odd angle to keep the pressure off my ears.So far it is a Really good headset on sound and microphone quality.Overall I like it and would recommend it, just be CAREFUL with it.

These headphones aren't real bad honestly. They do a decent job of isolating outside noise when listening to music, or whatever. They do have rather small ear cups for being what I had assumed were over-the-ear headphones, but I have rather large ears. For those that think music should be felt as well as heard, these have plenty of low-end response. My only complaint about the sound is that the high-end is a tiny-little-bit tinny, and that the overall volume is dictated by the on-board sound device (being USB, it's part of the headphones). I personally wish they were a little bit louder overall, but that is just my personal opinion. If you are thinking about buying them for any VoIP apps, like Skype, you won't be disappointed at all. The mic is good and clear, well constructed and tucks neatly away. My only other complaint(and actually my biggest one)is that the blue LED in the left-side earpiece housing lets a bit of light out the side, between the driver/earpiece and the housing itself, so if you happen to wear glasses, expect to see a bit of glare/reflection in the corner of your left eye at all times. This just may have been a deal-breaker for me at the time of purchase, had I known about it then. If you don't wear glasses, ignore those last two sentences and pick these up for sure. Overall, these have been the best thirty bucks I've spent in a long time. Also, as far as the other comments regarding them being too tight on the ears are concerned, I have a large head, and I've so far worn these comfortably for about 6 hours without issue. I guess it comes down to personal preference, but for the price, you won't lose anything trying these.

I chose this item after reading the good reviews but am unable to agree with them. The set arrived well packaged and is reasonably comfortable to wear. Unfortunately the microphone is useless and does not work. So maybe I have been generous with the stars!Sound quality is only medium as sound is woolly. Previously I had a Sony folding headphone which had vastly superior sound but had done many years service, also inexpensive.The switch on the cable is not only superfluous but gets in the way and is probably the cause of the mike problem.Unless you are prepared to pay considerably more for a boom mike, I would recommend separate items.Not worth returning as cost of shipping too high.

This headset was bought for Skype calling. It is excellent for this purpose and allows clear calling in comfort. A top rate buy and so much superior to my previous headset from Bestbuy that was both uncomfortable and of poorer quality for the same money. Don't hesitate in choosing this product.

I have never owned headphones that were such garbage as these are.First, the actual headphones are smaller than my ears, which leads to some pain after about 5 minutes of use.The sound quality is the worst I have ever heard. Granted, I didn't pay a fortune for these, but you would think they could at least sound half-way decent. When you play music on them, even with the volume turned very, very low, the speakers rattle as if they had been blown by someone having them on their highest volume for days on end.It was a big, big mistake.

When I bought this I was told it would work with my PS3 which is what I was looking for. When I received it the cord was a little short, but I could deal with that. Unfortunately, the mic does NOT work with the PS3. I could hear everything that was going on, but couldn't talk to anyone. I'm now going to go trade it in for a REAL headset w/mic that works with PS3!
