After reading reviews of these online and even a few YouTube videos, I picked these up in order to use for PS3 gaming. They DO NOT WORK ON PS3! The PS3 will recognize them but they won't actually work on the system. They work fine on my PC and the sound is clear through the headphones and mic. They are not super comfortable but they are very light weight. I would imagine if you are going to spend a lot of time in a headset there are more comfortable models out there but if you are going to occasionally Skype or whatever, these aren't bad. I was just disappointed that they don't work for what I had planned on using them for - PS3.

Bought these as a slight upgrade to the built in microphone on my macbook pro.They work great, and the sound control does communicate correctly to the mac.Microphone can be a bit too sensitive, and picks up "pops" however this can easily be eliminated by pointing the microphone boom a bit lower than normal.Make note that the USB plug makes connections on the other jacks a bit tight, however it is possible to have something plugged into next to it on my 2011 Macbook Pro.

I run my business using Skype on a laptop, wearing headset for 4 - 8 hours a day. I tried a $90 wireless headset and was not happy with the results. Good wireless headsets are expensive and I wanted a low cost alternative. This Plantronics USB headset is really comfortable and sounds crystal clear. The people I talk to noticed a difference right away.You don't need any software - it is just plug and play. It works seamlessly with Skype, however, I have had some issues with Google Voice. Sometimes it does not recognize the headset and you have to close Voice and re-open it. If you are looking for a really good headset, that doesn't cost much - check out this Plantronics.

This headset it great. I use it at work. It feels sturdy. The call quality is great. The Mic piece is extendable. It is comfortable. The buttons are nice and satisfying to press.

I purchased the headset for gaming purposes. It works well and comfortable. I didn't have any issues with hearing or speaking when interacting with my guildees. This is a good and inexpensive headset if you're just looking for a basic headset for your PC (gaming, Skype, etc.).

Recently bought this headset for use with a Windows 7 PC. My husband's headset, a Logitech, worked fine on my PC. The audio quality in this headset was decent for the price, but the mute feature did not work properly. When muted, the headset would either (a) create a feedback loop in my headset, or (b) transmit the audio out over the line-in on the computer. It also had problems functioning after the computer was woken from sleep mode, requiring the headset be unplugged and plugged back in before working properly.The audio was much better than expected for this price tag, but be wary of defective units.

I ordered two of these headsets - one for me and one for my husband to use mostly for gaming purposes and for listening to music, videos, ect online without disturbing each other. Although we were both careful to take good care of our headsets, within a week, his broke. If you do not have the wire in the exact perfect position, the sound cuts out on one side of the headphones... speaking of headphones, they are uncomfortable.Although my set still works, and I do consider it good value for the money, I would not purchase this product again and would be very hesitant to recommend it.On a positive note, the microphone works great, when the sound works, it's crystal clear, and the volume and microphone controls are a convenient feature.

I have a mic in my webcam but its on top of my monitor so it picks up sounds in the room more than I would like. This headphone and boom mic are great for Skype and dictation software like Dragon. My voice is clean and crisp. I am impressed at how well it picks up voices. They seem comfortable to me but then I never were them all day. I like how the mic is muted when I raise the mic up out of the way. I recommend this. I hear no buzz or hum like some other sets.

The sound is muddy. The pressure on your ears is high because the headband is designed for dogs. The microphone is horrible and makes your voice sound like it's underwater through a hearing aid and an old oily rag. Plantronics used to be great. Sadness.

I purchased this headset because I work from home for a call center and we recently just switched to soft phones. This was the best deal I found on a quality USB headset. I have used Plantronics in the past and was confidant in their quality. As expected, setup was one step plug and play, integrated with my Inter-Tel softphone, has the best sound quality compared to other employees (according to my customers and supervisor), and I love the built in volume and mute control. Super comfortable for extended wear - I've done several 10+ hour days recently, and it is light and comfy the whole time. Wonderful product!

I have bought about 7 pairs of these for my office and have not had a problem yet. We are a small software company with offices on both coasts and do most of our meetings through Skype. These headsets sound great and the mics on them pick up your voice clearly while not being too sensitive as to pick up other voices or sounds around you.

From the reviews I read I got exactly what I expected. This is a great headset for the price. I use them for moderate gaming and doing a podcast and they do just fine. If you game for longer periods at a time then they can hurt your ears after a while, but other than that they're pretty good.

I've been using my headset for some time now and I love it. I use it for Skype calls and for listening to music. The sound quality is excellent and I haven't had any static interference during Skype calls like some of my friends have with other headsets.They're pretty comfortable to wear. My only issue is the ear pads a just a tad bit too small, or maybe they're too square. The top of the pad tends to rest on the top of my ear rather than my ear fitting completely within the padded area. If I move them around a bit, I can get them in a more comfortable place. It's possible that my ears are shaped a little differently than other people's ears, or maybe the ear pad should be more oval in shape. Either way, it's not uncomfortable enough to affect my rating on this product. I really like the headset and highly recommend them.

I'm a work at home customer service agent and used the Plantonics 755 for about a year. I liked it, though the wiring on it wasn't as sturdy as I thought it should be. When that headset needed replaced, I decided to go for this one. I wasn't thrilled with the idea of the mute function being part of the boom but for the price, I decided to try it.I detest this headset. The comfort level is not what I'm used to from Plantronics. It's uncomfortable, too stiff and too tight on the ears. The sound quality isn't all it's cracked up to be and to use the mute, by swinging the boom up, causes noise on the line. If I exhale, I hear the air passing over the boom even if I've moved it under my chin.I realize that this headset is inexpensive, but I expected the Plantronics brnad to be somewhat consistent. This headset may be fine for gaming or when someone isn't concerned about sound quality but for anyone concerned with quality or who needs a headset for professional use, this isn't it.As a side note, I'm almost hoping I received a defective one because this is so incredibly bad, I'd hate to think that Plantronics' equipment has become this horrid.

I recently purchased the Plantronics 655 USB Headset and I love it! I do a lot of live virtual classes through my laptop and until I started using this, I used to hear a lot of background noise and my students used to complain about the sound quality being poor. But, this headset put aside all those problems away! It is very easy to install - your Windows should detect this as a USB device 15-30 seconds after you plug it in. It works great with VoIP applications such as Skype, GTalk etc. Some pros and cons below:+ Sound quality - both headset and microphone sound quality is very good.+ Easy to install+ Earpiece is very comfortable- The cable is long, but is very thin. I fear one day it is going to snap off at either ends.- When using, keep the microphone a bit away from the mouth - sometimes you could hear your breath (as the microphone is too good), but could be distracting - maybe its me :)Overall, good value for the money - its better to invest in this than buy 3 or 4 of the cheaper ones (been there done that). Hence the 5 stars.

At first the headphones seemed to work fine, without any hassles. I just simply plugged them into the USB port, and things seemed to work. But then I noticed that Skype would crash after a few minutes. (I have Windows 7.) I re-installed Skype, and that seemed to fix the problem. I was able to have a 20-minute conversation without Skype crashing.The sound seems fine. The over-the-ear headphones are not very comfortable if you wear glasses.

The packaging for this item was incredibly frustrating. It comes in the kind of hard plastic bubble pack that you need metal shears to get into, and once you've cut into it, the plastic starts to splinter and shatter, producing shards that WILL cut you and draw blood. This is the kind of packaging that not only makes potential thieves say "it's not worth it", but potential buyers, too. How do they sound? Couldn't tell you, as the headphones didn't survive the opening process. Manufacturers who use packaging like this should be banned, or at least thoroughly ignored.

What this is: phone or internet headphones for hearing and speakingFeatures: adjustable volume for both headphones and microphone, as well as microphone mute.Pluses: Very easy for hands-free use, conference calling, etc. And the adjustable microphone volume is a fairly unique feature.Minuses: the mic boom is too short, and the wiring inside is non-robustAbout me: I've been doing telephone-based support work in an extremely high-tech industry for over 20 years. I use my telephone every day, sometimes in excess of 6 hours per day. It is almost as important as my computer.The wiring inside the mic boom seems to have broken with only a couple months of usage. Usually Plantronics devices are highest quality, a metric by which I have judged other headset performance. The shortcoming in the microphone is a critical flaw, in my humble opinion.I really wanted a headset with adjustable microphone amplification, as I have a fairly loud voice, and it is helpful in some situations to be able to adjust the mic output.

Been using this since mid November 2011, works great. Have not had the problems mentioned by other reviewers. I use this frequently for Skype and listening to music/movies on the PC.Update Jan 16, 2013: Been using this several times a week for over a year, absolutely no problems at all!

The headset has worked well for me, so far. It's lightweight, but the mic seems to work very well and by making the earphones not adjustable, it seems make the device more sturdy. I plugged it into a USB port on my Mac Mini and I was able to use audio Skype right away.

I purchased the item because is was highly recommneded and priced well below the retail stores. I'm sure it performs as indicated, but I had some personal issues with it. The mic is placed on the left and I prefer right handed use. It is not designed for both sides. The ear cushions were too small for my normal sized ears and pinched me. If you also wear glasses, it gets uncomfortable very quickly (5 minutes).My bigest issue was my Dragon 10 and MagicJack software, running on a Dell computer with XP Pro, did not recognize the USB Mic. Speakers worked, but mic didn't. I tried to follow the instructions on the Dragon/Unance Web site to activate it, but this might have been an Operating System Issue as XP is getting older.Was grateful for Amazon's return policy and will order a different model as recommended by my software vendors.

I hoped this headset could replace my old plantronics 500 which finally crapped out via, the wires fraying and breaking. Granted I had been using the old 500 purely as headphones for music for nearly 6months before the wires started to break and fray leaving me with what was called "Robot voice."I have had these headphones a whole day and half, and Sadly within forty minutes of plunging them in they started clicking before they completely lost sound once they reach a certain length of warmth. They bass is far too loud and while i did enjoy having the volume controls on the headset i am doubtful i shall go for another one like that.I will be returning them and for a new pair. I am a Sad panda that they came this way and did not last the length that the 500's did.

Just like the title says, it's literally the best headset I've ever used in the $30-$35 price range. I received it as a gift by request for $29.51 via Amazon on Dec 21, 2009. As of Nov 26 2010, I haven't had any problems even with even though it's probably been knocked off of my desk a dozen times.First off, don't compare these to surround sound headsets, for a true apples to apples comparison only compare them to other stereo headsets. That said, at $30-$40 you get a lot for your money out of these. The sound is good and these are very durable. They are a bit heavy on the ears but comfortable enough that I can play Call of Duty, Counter-strike, Battlefield, Team Fortress, Left 4 Dead etc for a few hours at a time. you could pay $60 to $80 or more for a "good" headset and it would only be an improvement of 10% to 15% for around twice as much money.I haven't had much luck with $30 headsets in the past, either they break within 3-6 months (3 for a logitech precision, 5 for previous plantronics) or they were uncomfortable (turtle beach). One criticism I have is that the USB plug has a fat plastic shield that half blocks the USB port sitting next to it.The reason I gave these a 5 star is because I don't think any other Stereo headset beats these in performance, durability or comfort for the price. In other words, 5 stars for the all of those data points combined.In the interest of full disclosure, before I got these I was getting sick of not being happy with other headsets in the $30 price range and had made the decision that if I wasn't happy with them I was going to get the Tritton AX Pro's. In fact I'd still like to. If you don't have or don't want to spend $60, $80 or $130+ on a headset or someone you know wants a headset, you can't beat the Audio 655's.

As an ex-call center worker I wore a headset 5/6 days out of the week for for 1.5 years. I got this for gaming (i.e. TF2 and L4D) and skype. I have to say thing is a really nice headset. My priority's where: 1) mic quality, 2) price, and 3) speaker quality.It has an analog to digital converter for the mic that is impedance matched. This will be beat the common 3.5 mm headset to sound card solution because of the impedance miss match (since they are designed to different engineering specs). Getting the all to common too low or high mic level.Price is pretty good considering this is a preforming and durable headset. I have owned this for over a year and it is still going strong.Speakers are pretty good. However, it is not going to come close to headphones like the Grado SR80. But that doesn't even have a mic so it a fair compromise. They are closed headphones and do a decent job of blocking outside noises.Cons:If you using a windows machine like I am, you are going to have to open sound under the control panel to direct the sound BEFORE you start your audio application. This is because most software will send the audio to the default audio device and you will have two sounds cards. The exception is that skype has settings that will remember where to play what sounds. (i.e. ring tone on computer speakers and headset, call audio to headset only) This is no fault of the headset but how applications/operating systems are programed.The speakers seem to be over powered. I have to set the level to 1-3/100, anything more and it is just to loud. (I like to protect my hearing.) This is only a problem when changing from desktop speakers to headset and i forgot to lower the volume. Then I get a surprise to turn down the volume. :/Overall very satisfied.

This a great headset for the price! The mic can be a little pop-ey if you have the mic directly in front of your mouth, move it below your mouth its fine. It does pick up a lot of background noise but that is typical of a condenser microphone. All-in-all a great buy for the gamer or Skype-er.

It is good product. The sounds output is good. I like the bass side of this headset. It is such a pleasure when listening to a music through this headset. Microphone is ok but the sensitivity of the microphone is so so. You might have to speak louder or take the mic near your mouth. It seems to be ok, right? However, after wearing this for about 30 mins, my ears got hurt. Try again and it's the same.My bottom line is that it does not matter how nice the sound is if you can not use it. I worn it only one or two times then I have to give up. Come on. I own a huge panasonic headset and wear it all day without any problem.

This is an inexpensive headset that works well on Skype. I was looking for a headset that didn't use up a usb, but rather a mic jack and a speaker jack that I have on my laptop. (I have no microphone or video capability on my laptop, so I already use usb slots for video, as well as other needs. It was very difficult to find choices, and I tried one headset that used usb, but decided I liked this one better--cheaper, good sound, maybe not real, real comfortable--but most are not anyway and some are worse. Not bad.One other good thing: with a headset using usb, I don't believe you can plug it in during the middle of a call to shift it to headset use. But you can with this.

Pros:Sound quality was good.Cons:Can't be worn with glasses --There is a light that illuminates the volume control on the left side of the headset that shines directly into your eye if you wear glasses(it reflects off the lense). I was able to use some colored tape to cover it up and that fixed the problem, and if it were just only that problem, I may have decided to keep them.They are very uncomfortable to wear --The headset fits pretty snugly, so there is a good bit of pressure on the ears which can become uncomfortable. Also, the earpieces don't seem to have enough padding. Last, the earpieces seem too small. My discomfort could have come from one of those or all three; I am not sure. I do know that when I took them off I never wanted to put them back on.No on-cord controls, poor controls --The volume control is on the side of the left earphone. Also, it is an up-down type push button control, as opposed to a slider type control I prefer a slider because it offers more control and is less cumbersome than having to continuously push a button until I find the volume I want. There is no mute button. To mute the mic, you raise the mic to the up/off position.

This Plantronics headset's packaging is nearly impossible to open without slashing open an artery or destroying the headset. I condemn this frustrating and dangerous packaging and urge Plantronics to improve it. The plastic is way too thick to cut with a scissors, so I had to use a Bowie knife, which is where the slashed artery comes in. Then, while trying to "deliver" the headset from its injection-molded plastic "womb", I destroyed the microphone boom. Note to Plantronics: the packaging should safely and conveniently get the product to the consumer. This headset is packaged as if were an Egyptian mummy meant to be sealed shut for five thousand years! By the way, the headset itself is a great product & I would have given it 5 stars if not for the packaging.

This headset was advertised with a phone I purchased. The connector fits into my cell and computer, but not the phone. As earphones to listen to things, they're fine. The microphone is so weak, you really can't use it with a phone.

So I have been using this for the past few months and wanted to review it. I know a lot of positive reviews over this product and I would like to talk about my experiences with it. So Here are my experiences with this Headset:Pro's:<->The Mic is excellent for podcasting. I have been using this for sites that request to do a podcast with me. This works really well and produces the highest possible quality without having a sound board. All the podcasts that I have been on have told me my audio was the easiest to edit due to the quality.<->The Sound from the Headphones are really sensitive and can even pick up bass sounds. I use this for a game that uses a lot of bass sounds and I can feel it vibrate on my ear almost tickling my ear.<->The Volume Control is on the left ear piece. Although this can be both pro and con because of the location, I find that it can be quite helpful when you are podcasting and don't want to make noise by using the mouse.Con's:<->It is bulky to a point. Now I don't mind bulky if it works well and it does but I had to put in the con's because I can't take this on the road so I have order the Plantronics Mobile Convertible Headset for when I am on the road. I will report back when I get a better chance to use it.<->It isn't made for BIG ears. If your like me and have your ears being a little more bigger than average ears then you will find that the ear cushions will push down on parts of my ear and after while will start to make them hurt. This head set is good for short periods due to my above average ear sizes.<->Sound Canceling isn't really sound canceling. While I was using this headset for a few podcast the sound sound canceling didn't really work. I don't know if was me or if it was the headset. For all I know it could be software, but no matter what I did, I would have to mute myself when I wasn't speaking, although the quality was good it was sometimes to sensitive.All in all, if your like me and have to do some interviews over Skype for podcasting. This is a good headphones to use when you need quality in both headphones and Microphone!!

I'm loving these headphones with a mic. This is the perfect product for what I wanted to do. I was starting to work from home and I needed a way to dial into my work conference calls from home without tying up the home line. I got a Google Voice line and bought these PC headphone and it works perfect. It's really loud and clear. You actually can't turn it up all the way because it will be too loud. The volume controls and buttons are easy to access. It has a mute button as well. When I talk to people they hear me perfectly clear. No one has said I sound low or muffled yet on a call. The cord is extremely long so that you're not being choked while moving around. You can not go wrong buying these headphones.pros: great price, loud, convenient volume controls, comfortable, long cable, solidly built.con: none

My husband and I use this headset on our computer for Skype calls to our family overseas. We've had it for about 6 months and really like it. It gives us a better sound quality than if we were to not use a headset at all. Any sound quality problems I've had have been the result of low internet connection and not the result of the headset.It travels well, is flexible, and is comfortable for the time we wear it (about two hours at a time at most). I've heard reviews that give it a high comfort rating for even longer, but I've never used it that long.I would buy it again if I ever need another one and would recommend it for someone looking for an inexpensive headset with good quality for skype/voip calling.Only gripe is that the packaging really was a pain in the butt to open, so if you purchase this for an older/elderly person, make sure to open it for them.

The Plantronics headset is well put together: soft earmuffs, good headband extension for size of head fit, ear speaker volume wheel, microphone volume [H-M-L], and plenty of cord. The wiring connections to both the headset and the plugs are solid and waterproofed.The quality of the sound from the microphone is adequate for telephone but is marginal for voice commands and dictation which uses voice recognition. If you need this, look for a more sensitive microphone on a headset [translation, more money]. The springband in the headset is not flexible enough to allow wearing the set for more than 2 hrs without 'head vice' pain. There is too much tension in the band and it cannot be adjusted.This is a good quality, inexpensive headset for limited time telephone calling and for private listening.

Cannot get the microphone to work.I bought this headset for the microphone, but I can't get it to work at all.My system recognizes the use as "C-Media USB Audio Device", and I can hear sound.But, the mic does not work at all. With a standard mic that you plug into your sound card (which I HIGHLY recommend) you can "monitor" what the mic is picking up.The very first time I plugged this one in, I could not hear anything that the mic was picking up... (yes, it worked once - poorly, but it worked once).I ran my audio editing software and hit RECord. Strangely, I could see that the mic was picking up my voice. So, I talked for a little while, adjusting some settings, and then stopped.When I played it back, I was horrified. The recording sound quality was DISGUSTING. Not just bad, but HORRIBLE.I thought it might be the USB port that it was plugged into. So I tried two others. They did not pick up the mic at all.I've rebooted several times.Changed the port a couple of times.Tried to delete the device from Device Manager and let it re-install.Rebooted some more.No luck.I plugged it back into the original USB port (the one with horrible quality) and now NOTHING.There is no software to install/reinstall.There are no manuals to offer any assistance.I tried to get support at there website, it didn't have my model in the list of support documents, it did list the 955 (1 step up) but there was virtually nothing there, I also got a lot of 'page not found' errors on some of the things I tried just to see if there was a tip that might help.I thought Plantronics was better than that.Pros:- Audio PLAYback sound quality is very good- Very comfortable to wearCons:- THE MICROPHONE DOESN'T WORK AT ALL- Plantronics support is EXTREMELY lacking (ie. it doesn't exist)-NOTE: There is something in the Plantronics Knowledgebase that says there may be a problem with VIA USB controllers, which I might have. Christmas gift for my teenage son. He was very happy he can listen to his music and I was glad knowing he didn't have buds in his ears. The headset is padded well around the ears to give nice audio sound and reduce external noise.

This is my second Plantronics headphone/microphone. I was totally disappointed. The sound is tinny and is accompanied by a constant hiss. The microphone is fine, but once again the headphones pick up sounds from the microphone including my own breathing. Another drawback is the lack of software. It makes it easy to install, but there is no way of adjusting treble and base. In "Volume Control" under "Options" the "Advanced Controls" for adjusting sounds is not supported by this microphone. I will never buy another microphone without software again.

Opened the box, put them on, lasted 10 minutes before my ears felt like they were being pinned to the side of my head. Not suitable for more than a 5 minute phone call, never mind extended on-line classes or gaming.

Produces decent sound but not much depth. Volume control isn't that great. Plantronics Audio 355 produces much superior sound and is more comfortable. Watch out for the packaging - it is dangerous. The .326 packaging isn't as bad as the .355 packaging but both will cause blood to flow unless you're very very careful! Plantronics should include band-aids & neosporin inside the packaging along with the headphones, because you will need it.

So I ordered this to help in speaking with my Dragon software, and it does the job. I really like the headset. It's great for listening to audio, the sound is super clear. Yeah, I don't feel like I wasted any money on this. I'd recomend it if you're looking for a pretty good headset. It got here super fast too, and in top condition.

I probably have been through 3 Logitech headsets in the span of two years--they would always break on me. The chord is great--my experience with my old Logitech headsets were the cables kept getting all tangled up, because the cable was too skinny. The chord on this headset is the perfect thickness where it will never get tangled up. The sound quality is great, pretty comfortable, and very inexpensive. I've had this headset for over a year now and thought I would write a review for it now, because I've had no complaints about it at all! The microphone is great as well and the sound adjustment on the side is a cool feature, too.

Less than 4 months with only light use the electrical connection for the headset started to short out and there was first static on the listener's end and then after a week on my end as well. I replaced them with ones from a different company.

OVERALLThis unit exceeded my expectations in terms of sound quality from the headphones, sturdiness, and ease of use with Skype.MAC NOTEI use a Mac, however, and was not aware that I also needed an adapter for the microphone jack (since the Mac microphone port does not amplify sufficiently for this headset... or something like that). Either way, I bought this Syba USB adapter, recommended by other Mac users of the headset (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001MSS6CS). I wasn't too upset by this since the headset itself is so inexpensive.Now the headset works just fine and overall I'm very pleased. I was also pleasantly surprised by the quality of the speakers in the headphones themselves. I thought I was constantly going to be switching between my personal headphones, when toggling between Skype conference calls and listening to music. For my needs the sound quality is just fine for music as well (though I am not an audiophile, and so I can't speak to those who have more discriminating tastes in aural technology).CAUTION: If you have an especially large head this headset may be a little tight, since the headband does not adjust horizontally, only vertically.
