I searched for weeks and shopped and researched several cordless phone brands, at several stores and at mulitple websites before deciding to purchase this phone. I received this phone set today and was initially disappointed at the cheap flimsy appearance of the phone upon opening the box. I was willing to overlook that flaw and proceeded to set the phone for use. I was exited to use the talking caller ID that was advertised as a feature. Needless to say that I was shocked and stunned to find out that this phone DOES NOT have the talking caller ID feature as advertised. I paid extra for the 'Talking Caller ID' feature as there were many other less expensive phones (VTech, AT&T, Uniden, etc.) that would have been satisfactory. I thought I would splurge and get a 'new fun feature'. NOT! The phone is being returned as 'product not as advertised' with prepaid shipping from Amazon.Update Oct 11, 2010The product description has been corrected. Talking Caller ID no longer indicated as a feature on this phone.

This phone package is a very nice deal. The phones themselves are especially nice and offer superior sound quality and ease of use.The only "cons" are:- The base unit looks like hell when mounted on a wall. One of the screws used to mount the unit to the wall is fully visible after installation - a problem that could have been solved by a 2 cent cover that either slid or snapped in place. A well cut piece of Gorilla duct tape fixed that issue, but that shouldn't be necessary.- It seems like the highest volume setting (ear piece and speaker phone) should be louder. It's "adequate" for me, though many older people will likely not find that to be the case.Overall, though, this is probably the best packaged phone set on the market and I highly recommend it.

Replaced an aging Uniden phone system and I'm quite pleased. I especially like the feature that allows the user to block unwanted phone calls from the CID.The other feature I value is that whatever is programmed into the main set, the others automatically receive the data.

Our second panasonic phone. First one we still have and it's worked perfectly for five years. This phone is even easier to use. Bought it because I needed a second handset to live in a back room with no phone jack and didn't need an answering machine. Good phone, good price.

The Panasonic Phone is one of the best cordless phones I have had. I have a rather large back yard and I am able to use the phone quite a distance from the "home base". This was also one of the easiest phones to program and set up. I highly recommend it.

Although the web site lists the manufacturers product description, this phone system does NOT have the talking caller ID. The manual clearly states which (higher end) models offer this. Only the phones that have an answering machine (base unit) can do this. This phone does not have an answering machine. Aside from that, the phone is incredible. Although now I have to pack it all up and send it back to Amazon, I re ordered the correct model, which was only a few bucks more, to get the talking caller ID which I think is awesome, especially if you've just sat down for dinner and the phone rings, now you're told who the caller is before you get up from the table. A best buy from Consumers Report.

Good quality phone. It is equipped with compfort grip rubber, speaker on handset, and regular rechargable batteries (included)! I bought this phone as a spare & can't stop using it. It has an indicator on the screen "echo" which conserves battery power if you are close to the base (within 20 feet or so) and 1 or 2 hours of straight talking does not even phase the battery! It also has a a 2.5mm jack to plug in a headset/microphone "awesome". It was a great buy for me $28.00 used, & it was in perfect condition! Thanx, S.W. from Pennsylvania...:)

Best cordless phone I ever owned. GREAT display. Easy to hold. The one touch voice mail button is trick as well. I found it very easy to maneuver around the menu.You will love it.

After I thought I had found the perfect DECT 6.0 cordless phone with an excellent speakerphone and rechargeables AA batteries, now I'm frustrated.The phone worked excellent on the first month, but, on the second month, one handset completely lost its ringer and speaker when use it on handsfree and the other one, it sound very distorted when use on handsfree. However, both of them still sounds very good on its ear speakers.I don't recommend this item, because it's quality is very poor.

Phone was easy to set up. I liked the fact that information only needed to be programmed into one handset and it transferred to the other. It is much lighter than the phone I had. So far the phone has been good but have only had it for a short time.

The units were easy to set up. When you program your address book into one unit, it provides that information to all units. Voice quality is good. The units feel good in your hand. The keypad is sure and provides good tactile feedback. The screen displays large clear numbers and operational status. Nice programming features. Good quality - Good functionality - Ease-of-use - Three handsets, all at a great price.

This is a great set of phones. They have clear sound quality and a large LCD screen. I especially like that you can use the intercom feature to call other phones in the house (very helpful when trying to call the family to dinner). It does not have a talking caller ID feature as mentioned, but still a great phone.

My wife and I loved the block caller feature. We're on just about all the "no call" list there is, but seem to still get repeated charity calls wanting money. Not any more! By the way, the voice quality and display on this phone is also great. Took a while to learn all the features and I'm not sure if I have them all down now or not. But what can I say, don't like reading manuals very much...

This phone was just what I needed to replace my 4yr + old and failing Motorola set. This Panasonic has a very versatile feature set. I especially like being able to turn off the vmail notification (flashing light on the top of the phone) and control when the phone rings especially in the bed room if needed and oh, did I mention ALL this and MUCH more for an excellent price, well I just did. Enjoy !!!

So far so good. And, with call block, I havent received any more calls for charities, political organizations, and the like. This is just what I wanted. My other panasonic lasted 5- yrs. I hope to have as good luck with this one

I have been very happy with this phone set. All the phones work well and have very good sound quality.I just wish the Mute and Off buttons were not so close together since I have hung up on too many conference calls when going for the Mute button. That is user error but perhaps the design *could* be tweaked.

We have had many wireless telephones but this one is great at distance, good sound, good battery life, easy programing, and has buttons and display large enough for older eye sighted persons, etc. Can't say enough.

I just needed a single, single-line phone w/o answering component for my home business line. I have similar Panasonic phones on the home line (w/ an answering component). They just work. The buttons are easy to push (had another brand that was always a challenge). This phone has the headset jack - some cheaper models do not. Great phone. Good packing and fast delivery.

This is by far the best cordless phone I have owned in terms of design, reception, battery life and features. It's simple to operate, but does everything you would need to do on a phone. You can't go wrong with this one.

Very pleased with these phones. Battery charge really lasts without frequent docking. Set up a breeze. Reception is crystal. Key pad and accessing options is very easy. We did not want the answering machine option as we have voice mail and an answering machine just complicates everything. I am sold on Panasonic...

The phone seemed fine and received it pretty quick. Just didn't like to have to pay a fee for voicemail each month. We have an older panasonic phone and have really enjoyed it.

Love these phones! Everything is on it I could ask for. The words displayed are very easy to read. I like the intercom part between the new phones. I replaced Panasonic phones I had in the house for too many years. I had bought a Uniden phone that I was not happy with before this purchase. Too many buttons to push to get the information you wanted. Panasonic makes things simple. I couldn't be happier......unless it was larger to hold and I don't think that's happening again anytime soon. Therefore, I bought the headset suggested to buy with it and can have long conversations on the phone and work on my crafts with my hands while I talk.

I purchased the phone to replace my 9 yr old cordless. Because of the reviews and price I decided to give it a try. So far? Flawless. Great range, clarity, and you have got to love the back lit keys. Makes it very easy to use when trying to dial a number in the middle of the night. It does feel small in and very light but no one has complained about being able to hear me or about the clarity of the transmission. No interference with other devices in the house. At this point I am quite pleased with it.

works as advertised. Haven't stretched the range, as the handset hasn't been out of house yet (it's very cold here!). Easy to use without looking up features in the manual. Menu buttons are a bit counter-intuitive but once you figure out what they meant... This phone is a good phone and does everything I need.

I was looking for a phone set without an answering machine, as I have VM from our phone company. This is a great set. The things I like about them -You can name each handset, so if it ends up someplace else, you know where it came from.The volume adjusts - both ring volume and call volume. The volume is way high - so we turned everything down to 1. If you have trouble hearing, these are great.There is an intercom feature, so you can carry a phone around outside and someone inside the house can reach you.The call clarity is better than our wired phone.I definitely recommend this phone set.

Cordless phones used to be awful. Sure they were convenient, but quality was aweful. Not this phone! This is way nicer than I would have ever expected. Crystal clear, great range, easy to use, good battery life. In short, it is a real pleasure to own and use and what a good deal on Amazon!

The product review on AMAZON for this item is VERY decpetive. They list it as having an answering machine but it doesn't. BOOOOOO! Now I see you have to look for the blue check on the chart to see if there is an answering machine function or not WHEN IT SHOULDN'T EVEN BE ON THE CHART IF THE UNIT HAS NO ANSWERING MACHINE IN IT, BLUE CHECK OR NO.I used to trust Amazon 100% but feel absolutely cheat with this purchase. Amazon won't be my chief appliance vendor after this!

The phones are easy to set up,plug base unit into a phone jack & power & the other two just into power. Sound quality is very good & range is good(200' or so).I don't know about battery life but I like the fact that NiMH batteries are readily available when needed. On previous cordless phones I have had it was difficult to find the correct replacement battery.It is easy to put entries into the phonebook & since it's a shared phonebook the entries are added to all three at once. As many of the reviewers have noted,there is no talking caller ID as is listed on the Amazon site. That would have been a nice feature.

These Panasonic KX-TG6512B phones were not what I expected. I had tought it had a voice mail system built in, but it did not. I was told I could not return it if it had been opened, which of course it was. I will hesitate to order anymore items through Amazon again. I thought all items could be returned if they were not to my satisfaction.On the upside, the letters & numbers on the receiver are large, the voice definition is clear and the ringer is easy to adjust. However, we found it difficult to program. The instructions are very confusing.

Excellent phone; sturdy, great sound and clarity, easy to use and great features. Would recommend buying from J & R though, Amazon took over two weeks and still didn't ship out. J & R delivered 2 days after ordering with free shipping. Great customer service and great phone.

My low rating is the result of what was advertised by Amazon compared to what the manufacturer states per the owners manual. One reason I decided to purchase this phone was for the "talking caller id" feature which Amazon states the phone has. After receiving the phone and reading the owners manual, Panasonic specifically listed each model that does and does not include the feature and of course this model was listed as not having it. I proceeded to call Amazon asking if they'd exchange the next model up with the feature for no extra charge (which was only $8) but no go. As a result I'm returning the item due to the lack of this feature, not because the phone didn't work. I'm sure the phone operates fine, it just doesn't include the talking caller id as advertised by Amazon. Hopefully Amazon will correct the information listed and remove this feature from the phone's capabilities. I encourage anyone to go to panasonic's website and review the phone's owners manual if you need verification.

I love Panasonic products.We've had our phones for several months now and are over-all very happy with the quality. I bought a Panasonic headset to be hands-free and it was a great decision. I work from home and having the ability to type while on the phone is a big plus.Our only disappointment is that on one of the phones the display has a line running thru it now. Doesn't affect the phone's performance at all. that's the only draw-back for us. Will def buy this again......or replace when they come out with a new model.

I don't have very good luck with cordless phones, so time will tell for sure. However, these phones seem to be clearer than my last Panasonic Phones. I keep reading the reviews that the Panasonics are the best cordless phones for the money. I hope that holds true.

After reading Consumer Reports and the rave reviews on Amazon I decided to replace my aging Panasonic KX-TG5433 with this new system in an identical configuration. I am very disappointed. The sound of the KX-TG6513B is so poor compared with my old phone that I am reverting to the old one and returning the new for a refund. I had been hoping for a significant improvement. There are some operating and display improvements but these do not make up for the inferior sound quality. No doubt some genius at Panasonic or their manufacturer decided to shave a few pennies off the cost of the sound system. I have used several generations of Panasonic phones and this is the first that is worse than the previous.

I researched this phone before I purchased, so I expected it to be good, but it has proven itself to be exceptional. I did not want an answering machine with the phone, so if you need that feature, keep looking. If you would like a phone that does everything well, and easily without issues, than look no farther.

These are great phones. They cover the entire house and beyond. The voice quality is always crystal clear. The battery life is excellent. I eapecially like the speakerphone function. My family has been using the answering machine version of these phones at home for a year and have had absolutely no issues. I just bought the simpler non-answering version as a gift for my technology-challenged parents and they love them.
