This is a very awesome system. The system itself is beautiful, small and pefectly designed. The graphics power of the system is slightly better then the old Xbox. But if you have an HDTV, I recommend buying Component cables for the Nintendo Wii. It will make games look way better.
As for the gameplay, It is quite enjoyable. It's easy to learn how to use the remote for anyone. It's truly a game system for family and friends. My Dad was able to quickly learn how to play some golf on Wii Sports. He is horrible when it comes to learning how to play games, or use electronics. He don't even know how to turn on a PC. It's amazing how much they can do with the remote and nunchuck. I can't wait to see what kind of games will come out in 2007.

The Nunchuck is a must-have accessory for many Wii games, and really adds a lot to the games you use it with - imagine trying to box with only one hand!Anyway, it does the motion-sensing thing just as well as the Wii Remote, which is to say, great. However, since it's powered by the Wii Remote, it doesn't have the same weight as the remote, which I think makes it feel cheap. Additionally, mine sometimes decides to think I'm permanently pressing the stick to one side or the other when I'm not, and I have to unplug it from the Wii Remote and plug it back in to reset it.Since it's currently the only one there is, go for it! If a 3rd-party makes one with slightly better build quality, I'll probably take it over this one though.

The Wii is a great system. I was one of the few to get one on Sunday. The wiimote takes some getting used to. The controls will surprise you. I had read about it and knew what to expect, but it doesn't really prepare you for getting your chance at it. Wii sports that comes with the system is really fun. Tennis and Golf are my two favorites. For both of them you have to swing like you would actually swing a golf club or tennis racquet. My father who has played only a couple of hours of video games in his life spent almost 2 hours playing Golf on Monday. I think Nintendo did a great job of building off their past products with the ability to download older content. While it would be nice if the online games were cheaper, $[...] for N64 games is not all that much considering it costs $40 for most people to fill up their cars these days. We will buy several games online to enjoy on our new system. Overall the Wii is a joy to play. Great job Nintendo!

I've spent a week with my Wii and can honestly say it is fantastic. The controller is not a novelty, it's just a new way to interact with your game. If we had all started out with a Wii-mote instead of pushing buttons, we would be thinking the idea of going to a non-motion sensing controller was idiotic. The Wii-mote does take getting used to but it is a lot more fun than pushing buttons. The biggest difference is that the Wii-mote can tell how hard you want to steer a car or fling a ball, a button can't do this as well. Anyone waiting to buy a Wii with the idea that they're concerned it's a novelty, don't wait any longer. I would recommend just buying the Nintendo-written games for now (no third parties) like Excite Truck and Zelda since I don't think the third party games take full advantage of the Wii-mote just yet, especially the sports games.

I'm one of those lucky ones who managed to nab one of these Wiis from Amazon during the minute it was available. It arrived yesterday, and I have to say that I'm very impressed just like everyone else seems to be.
I just wanted to point out 2 little things about the system that aren't a big deal, but are a little annoying.
1. There's a sensor bar that senses the movements of your remote/nunchuck. You have to attach it to the top of your tv or in front of the tv. Makes the system hard to move from room to room, which my kids like to do.
2. The remote/nunchuck makes noises during gameplay. And there's no way to turn the sound down. At least as far as I know. A problem when your kid wants to play till 3am and everyone else wants to go to bed!
Like I said, those are just small little things. The system is just great, and I'm sure we'll be getting more games and controllers soon.

Please understand going into this review that I am not a fanboy of any one system. I owned a ps2 before this and intended on getting a ps3. I still might. I picked this up because I liked Nintendo's strategy of going into this next generation purely focusing on gameplay. I have not been had this much fun playing games since the early days of the Commodore. The controls are intuitive and for once it is a game system designed for the entire family. The graphics are not on the level of other sytems, but frankly who cares. I'm interested in gameplay and if that's what your looking for that's what this system delivers. Just try playing a friends system, you'll want to buy it. The system comes with a game (a novel concept that for some reason died with the SNES) that really begins to show the potential of what this system is capable of. I am really looking forward to future games for this system. It's only going to get better.

The consule "wars" are upon us once again. While PS3 and 360 compete for graphical superiority, the Nintendo Wii aims for something else...fun. The graphics on the Wii are barely next-gen at best; however, playing the Wii makes up for every bit of graphical inferiority it may have. The Wii remote and nunchuck combo make for a fun-filled romp that takes you out of your seat and into the game. With the Wii having motion sensing capability the game becomes an extension of the player, you're truly "in" the game. Moreover, the Wii games are classic Nintendo fun. All the greats will, eventually, make an appearance...Mario, Luigi, Link, Zelda, etc. And if you can't wait for the next game to come out, you can download classic Nintendo titles like Super Mario 64, Super Mario Brothers, Zelda, Metroid, etc. If you're looking for graphic amazement you may want to look elsewhere, but for pure and cheap ($250) fun grab a Wii.

The Nintendo Wii is a fantastic video game for all ages. You dont have to be a video game expert to play it. It is fun for kids 5 years old, all the way up to 95 years old. The price point is great at $249.99 and even comes with a 5 game sports pak.

Just throwing my humble opinion in the hat -- We love this system!! Not every game utilizes the remote well, but the ones that do are great fun and I'm sure more titles will be added soon. As for the games that don't, we just hook up a different controller. We've been playing Wario Smooth Moves and Rayman Raving Rabbids and they're hilarious. Laughing, talking, moving (as opposed to sitting like a lump)... simply the best.
It's definitely not for the graphics snobs out there or others who like the more intense games but that's why the Xbox 360 and the PS3 consoles exist. You play yours and my family and I will play ours. Actually, my kids play and like both kinds of consoles.

The Nintendo guys are clearly geniuses. Since Sonic, Mario Kart, Donkey Kong etc., you know they will come with something innovative and pleasant to compensate the firepower of a PS3's hardware. The "body playing" and the characters are just too much. Not to mention it's half the price of the competition. Any serious gamer must have it!

Whether it's yourself or between a group of friends, Wii brings you tons of fun. With the wireless control in hand and having to go through all the motions, not only is it fun but it's a great workout. You'll have to pick the right game for you, but once you narrowed down your choice, you'll no doubt have a good time with a Wii. Not to mention, if you're having a big bbq party or a drinking party (especially), you'll find the Wii capable of providing you with endless options to party! I couldn't wait and bought it was soon as it came out.

Unless you enjoy getting pummeled in Wii Sports boxing, or will not be playing any other games that require it. Be sure to have one to match eack remote.

Let me start off by saying I love my Nintendo Wii. It is a great system. I am not trying to bash the Wii as a whole here - just this controller. The controller itself works great and feel great in the hands. The one and only problem I have with it is the wire. It really is sad that with all the bluetooth technology built into the Wii and its standard remote this couldn't be wireless as well. Hopefully they remedy the problem quick, because you will notice it becomes a pain playing with the wire from time to time. I give this item 2 stars for the simple fact it has wires. Other than that it would be an easy 5 star product.

Nintendo has scored big with the Wii. It is a system that has gotten me, my 5 year old son and my wife to spend some good quality time together having fun. Zelda is excellent and my son loves it! Wii sports has gotten two 34 year old couch potatoes off the couch and into the action. Nintendo should have better third party support this time around. Buy this system and prepare to be entertained because that is what video games are about..entertainment, not just looking great. Buy the component cables for this to improve clarity if you have a HD or ED tv. I really don't think you can go wrong with this home run hit from the big N.

When this console went on sale, I sat up all night and into the mid-morning staring at it on Amazon pressing F5 every few seconds waiting for it to be available. Got it for my boy for Christmas and now I hover in the hall waiting for him to start playing so I can grab my remote and join in! This console is so much fun! It is refreshingly different playing on a console that doesn't rely on an analog stick and button mashing. I was concerned the controllers would be awkward and hard to get used to but within ten minutes the boy and I were right at home with it. The console, so far, seems extremely stable with not a single glitch or freeze-up on any game wii have played. By the way, if you get a Wii you gotta get Rayman Raving Rabbids! Yes I'm 42 years old but it's my favorite. Also, if you get a Wii, go ahead and get an extra set of controllers.

Get the Wii! The remote as a motion sensor! And Wii sports comes with it FREE! When you play tennis, you actually have to swing the remote as if you are really playing it! And one of the best parts about it is you can download any Nintendo game from the NES to the N64! And in the Wii, if you are playing boxing or any other sport, you are have lots of fun while at the same time, you are getting lots of exercise! The Wii is very cool and it is much cheaper than the PS3! Get this! It is worth it!

First, a little background. The last time I owned a video game console and really even cared about games was with the Sega Genesis. (Yeah, I know, it's been a long time.) When I heard about the Wii, it was the first time in years that video games interested me. So I watched and waited. I read the reviews. And finally, after waiting eight hours in snow and cold weather, I snagged a Wii. Amazingly, it actually exceeds my expectations. I didn't realize how well the motion sensor would work. For Wii Sports in particular, you are literally making the same movements you would make in reality when playing these games. You won't understand it until you try it yourself. Get a Wii; it is fun and amazing technology. You won't regret it.
P.S. Making Mii characters of yourself and your family members is very fun. :-)

The Wii is the best system around that appeals to all ages. I love my xbox 360, but there is something more gratifying about playing Wii tennis against my parents. My dad always told me that he wished he could learn to play Halo so he would have another common interest with me, but that he would get too frustrated learning the controls. Everyone that has tried the Wii has picked it up incredibly fast and had a blast! Not only does the system have simplistic, yet fun games, but it also has Zelda and more in-depth titles for the more hardcore gamer. My dad went to Sam's Club today and purchased his own because he enjoyed it so much!

When you play a Wii game like Zak & Wiki and experience first hand the fine 3-dimensional response of the system you know that you are dealing with something the others just cannot match in form, function and FUN.

1: I wish the Nunchuck was a bit more sensitive with the motion control. Sometimes it feels like it doesn't respond at all.2: Hopefully soon mad catz or somebody will make some better after market replacement.3: Unfortunately this is our only option for now. You need it for most of the games that you will play on the Wii.

I got this for Christmas from Santa. Blown away when I opened it, blown away when I played it. The Wii is awesome! It has AWESOME games, backward capibaility (sorry if I spelt that wrong) tons of awesome features like the internet channel, virtual console, and the cute little miis. This is a must have console. It has great games, great capibility, great everything! You must have the Wii!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
