Wii Sports (the game that comes with the syste) is a great game to use as a party game or a game that allows you to get some exercise. The innovative controllers make this system completely different from any other game system. Swing the controller slow, fast, with a twist, it all makes a difference. Some games let you use the controller as a pointer. The price is very reasonable for the most fun system you can own.
Even if you have another system, you owe it to yourself to get a Wii just for the different experience it provides.

are the graphics PS3 or XBOX 360, no! This is PS2 graphics with interactive remotes to get you to feel like you are inside the game. For me this is much more fun and i can take the lesser graphics for more fun. As long as Nintendo opens the gates for developers, not to mention get some more units delivered in the US this is a GREAT FAMILY SYSTEM, even for the occasional gamer such as me. Spiderman 3 is going to ROCK this system!

i got a wii and the system is pretty impressive.. if you are like me who spoiled his eyes with all this "high def games" in the 360 then it wont be as "shocking" as you would expect it to be. So far the controls are not that perfect especially in third party games like monkey ball and red steel, unless you don't mind playing wii sports for the next couple of months then it wont be a problem for you. there is one game that i am very impressed with and it is Rayman.. overall get the system cuz its dead cheap (the same price as PSP) with rayman... but dont put high hopes for it.. if you don't have any of the next gen systems and you are a fan of racing, FPS and GTA... wii (currently) is not your choice...

Though some games use just the Wii Remote, most require the Nunchuck too. I find the trigger buttons on the Nunchuck to be a bit difficult to reach as I have a smallish hand but otherwise no complaints. It also has motion sensors in it so it can be used to move on the screen too like in Zelda (shake for a sword action or thrust for a shield action) or my personal fav, in Wii Boxing you use it in your left hand to throw punches.

Our entire family has been unable to put down our Wii since we opened it Christmas day, as a next generation system it might not win with its graphics (which I find fine) but what it really packs is a very fun, very accessible system for almost anyone. Our entire extended family (aged 7-70) has greatly enjoyed taking swings in Wii Sports. Bowling seems to be a favorite, with tennis a close second. Our other "more serious" titles (Zelda, Madden, Tony Hawk) have also seen play and so far the Wii delivers on almost all fronts. The innovative motion sensor technology has great possibilities for both hardcore gamers, and what I feel is even more important, it attracts "non-gamers" to the system. Having three generations all having a blast on this machine really is what gives it a 5/5.

this system pwns teh ps3 and teh 360. i went to my friends house and played it, and it owns! i tink they shoulda stuck w/ teh name revolution.
it comes with wii sports, which has boxing, tennis, baseball, bowling, and another thing i cant remember. it is a revolution for gaming!! (and it $$$ efficent)

Get out of the way, PS3! A cheaper, more fun system has arrived! When you pick up a PS3 controller, you are picking up a piece of crud with joysticks. When you pick up a Wii-mote, you are picking up a tennis racket, a bowling ball, a golf club, a bat, a steering wheel, a boxing glove, and much more! I read earlier that some kid said that Wii gets boring after a few days! You got to be kidding me, right!
I have also heard people reply to the fact that PS3 is more expensive than Wii, therefore it is better. This is because good things cost money! In most cases that is true, but not in the case of Wii vs. PS3! Wii is cheap and entertains you for hours with its Weather Channel, Shopping Channel, Disc Channel, Mii Channel, News Channel, and Internet Channel!

does it really need a review? if you have any hand eye coordination at all this console is a great buy. It's new, different, and has a ton of games that suit its motion sensor really well. The concept of being able to swing a bat or your fist and have the game know this is wonderful!

The nunchuk is a great attachment for the Wii's more 'intricate' games. The only complaint I could give is that it's overpriced for a small add-on to the wii mote. It'd be nice if it had a little more than 2 buttons.

This system was worth a late Christmas gift to me from me thanks to a scammer. I like how you can use the internet though the WII and play old school games even SEGA games can be played. IF you are a nintendo fan I advice you to buy it no matter what.

Unless you're playing only games that use the Wii remote, you're going to need a nunchuk. It's quite ergonomic, feeling comfortable in either hand, not too large, not too small.The motion-sensitivity of the nunchuk definitely adds new dimensions to gameplay, but I really wish the cable was longer, though Nintendo probably made it short on purpose to avoid potential choking hazards.Some games only partially need the nunchuk (Monkey Ball Banana Blitz, for example, where only a portion of the Party Games require the nunchuk), but if you play a lot of Wii, get a nunchuk for each your remotes. It's a bummer when you have your friends over and want to play a game but don't have enough nunchuks for it.

Everyone can understand how to play, and everyone has fun playing... My father, who hates video games as a way of spending time and money thinks that the wii is great, and was like a little boy playing it.. (he's 55). My mother even tried it out and enjoyed it. The wii, when used as its intended with you getting up and swinging the remote will give you a nice bit of exercise. in wii sports, (comes with the system), boxing tennis bowling and the various training and fitness tests that go along with the games can have you working up a sweat. zelda is great too, for the serious gamer. $250 is well worth the price, video games are fun again, and you can get everyone involved!

Sony and Microsoft will definitely have their hands full trying to keep up with the Wii. This console, for once, will bring non-gamers and gamers alike together. I've only played it for a couple of hours and I am estatic with the motion controller. The graphics are just fine. One can only take graphics so far which is what Xbox and Sony are trying to do. They recycle the same games with a few more fps and that gets old after a while. The Wii is amazing and actually requires one to get up off of their butts and play. It's the common cure for the "couch potato" gamer. Family board games will be replaced with the Wii as the entire family can play this and have fun without doing too much strategy play like other consoles. I was an avid Playstation fan but they really disappointed me and Wii has officially taken it's place. THANK YOU Nintendo for bringing something new to gaming.

What can I say, it is everything I expected. There are plenty of things to do without even owning a game(if you have WiFi). And the games are a blast. With Wii sports, my mother, father, and girlfriend(three people who haven't touched a game console since the original Nintendo) all get together to play bowling.
The only problem I can see is that after a couple hours of playing games like Monkeyball and Elibits, my right wrist that holds the Wiimote really starts to hurt. I wouldn't be surprised to see Wii carpal tunnel for alot of heavy gamers in a couple of years. You must take a break or you will be hurting the next day.
Other than that it is a great price, great system and amazing innovation.

Got this console like a month ago, zelda is great, also is one of the best consoles for multiplayer games, and the way you use the control for games is really unique. A most have for all gamers.

The Wii Nunchuck is neccessary in boxing especially when boxing a friend. It is a great nonobtrusive workout. Overall the Wii is a system that has been needed for a long time and I am glad it is finally here. The Nunchuck is a part that increases the Wii's enjoyment.

Are you people really serious? I can't believe some of you are wishing ill will upon those people who have a Wii... And c'mon if your kids hate you because you couldn't get them a video game system for Christmas, I think you have a lot more to worry about in your life than this whole ordeal. It sounds cliché, but I think some of you have really forgotten the meaning of Christmas-think about those people who don't even have a place to live on Christmas.
-Oh as for the actual review: the Wii is a great console with great resale value (as of now). Zelda is awesome and Smash Brothers Brawl should be equally as amazing. So get it if you can-whether you keep it or sell it off you'll be glad you did either way.

this is the best gaming system out there game play wise, the graphics may not be all "hyped" up as the 360 or the PS3 but at least I don't have to play a huge amount of money for a glitchy system I would suggest this system for anyone and everyone out there I enjoy mine throughly and I have played the PS3 and the 360 I didn't like the PS3 at all, and the 360 was ok but this Wii is the cheapest, most fun and coolest of the three, sleek design, fun games, great for all ages
I love my Wii so I say get one when you can but make sure you get one online or in a store for 249.99 not some suped up price plus if you buy it from another comsumer you don't get all the benefits of replacement so pay attention and get a wii when you can so you can all have fun during the holidays, like me

My 14 year old son has not stopped playing with this system since he got it in Mid December. All his friends think its the greatest. Even the ones who loved PS2 said that this was much more fun than the PS2. Waiting anxiously for the next set of games to be released.
My son has started to download games from Nintendo onto the Wii. It's amazing. The Wii is the computer and does it all. He is experiencing NES and SNES games that I used to play all the time. The games are $5 for a NES game, $8 for a SNES and $10 for a N64. They will also be selling Sega Genesis games and Turbograf. Well worth the couple of dollars for hours of fun. BTW you need to buy a retro controller to play these games.

Nintendo did a great job when they made the Wii. It is a ton of fun and you never want to stop playing. My 3 year old enjoys boxing on the sports games and he does great. It goes to show that no matter how young or old you are you can enjoy playing video games on the Nintendo Wii.

Great system I always have a Nintendo system as my other console...The motion control/nunchuk is soo different. At first you may be like, huh? But, after a bit of Tennis or Baseball, etc. it is very cool!!! It's a fun system but you also get excersice with the physical interaction. My son loves it and the price is nice.
BTW, the wireless adapter built in to the Wii is funny and may need to be refreshed a bit to see your SSID, happened to me when all pda/laptops see it immediately.
I gave a 4 for the slow internet, lack of digital sound and HD support and shortage on component video cables, but the innovation and excercise factors (price, too) kinda make up for that.
I can't wait for Mario Galaxy and RE: Umbrella Chronicles!!! Anybody played Rayman Raving Rabbids??? Looks like fun, would like some input on it.

This game system is a blast!!!! A friend of ours turned us on to this game system with the sports package and we inturn showed another one of our friends and they ran right out and purchased it that same day! The sports games are totally addicting, especially the bowling.

I have a general question about the Wii that hopefully someone can answer. I understand you can play NES and SNES games on the Wii that are being released each week. Now, let's say you purchase a game like Zelda for the NES or SNES. Will the Wii save your progress on these games, or is it just a play when you want then shut it off and have to start over every time type thing? I know the Wii will save it's own games, but does it also save older games?? Thanks for any info anyone can give.
P.S. I had no idea you could download older games, that alone makes this system blow Xbox and PS3 out of the water!
