Some people say not to by the Wii because it has bad graphics. I think this is ridiculous. Even if the graphics were terrble, it is the games that matter, and the graphics are good anyway. Take Excite Truck, a racing game, for example. Its graphics are fantastic, even though it doesn't use super high definition or something. But the gameplay is where the Wii really shines. On New Years Eve, we had about 20 people over. Every single one tried the Wii, and every single one loved it. Buttons will soon be a thing of the past, and the Wii is leading the way. Cheers for Nintendo for taking the real next step in making games not more high-tech, but more fun. In my opinion, that is all that really matters.

I was fortunate enough to snag a Wii when Amazon launched them on 11/19/06. I ordered Zelda alongside it.
I won't re-echo the sentiments of so many other reviewers in as great detail. Yes, this machine is fun; yes, the motion sensor is revolutionary; yes, it's cheaper than the other next gen consoles...
...But is this really next-gen, or an updated Gamecube?
I'm not sure if there's going to be enough interest in producing games which harness the true motion-sensing power of the Wii - only time will tell whether this is the case. It's a question of production costs and market demand.
Once the hype has died down I wonder whether kids over the age of 8 will simply put this console down and forget about it - or whether it truly will be the invite-your-friends-over-to-wii phenomenon that everyone is going crazy for right now.
I hope I'm proved wrong...

I love the whole concept behind the Wii. I read in a magazine about that Reggie guy, everything he gets his hand behind turns to gold. And looks like he's struck gold again.
Anyway, the Wii is so much fun. The Wiimote is so resposive. Like seriously responsive. I was playing the golf game at a friends house and I was testing each position of my backstroke from pointing down, diagonal, all the way up to the top and it followed my movements perfectly. It's like having those lights on you to capture your movements.
The real reason I'm most happy about the Wii is because this system will make me buy games I never thought I would ever buy. Like I am really looking forward to a Tiger Woods title. And golf bores me. Well watching it. I'm not really into first shooters either, but I'm very much looking forward to the Metroid games and other shooters.
It may take a while for developers to make games that really fit the Wii, but I have high hopes for this system.

Well,I honestly thought that finding the Holy Grail would've been easier then finding the Nintendo Wii but I finally found one at my local Toys r us this morning. Just 5 minutes after the store opened this morning and I grabbed one and this woman the other,they only had 2 left in stock. Do not over pay for this system,it's out there you just have to be persistent-believe me it's definitely worth the wait,time and effort!!!.

I stood in line at our not-so-local (next town over) Wal-Mart for ten hours for my Wii.
Ten hours very, very well spent.
The Wii is awesomely fun, innovative, and affordable. The graphics aren't as good as the competition's, but the entertainment value makes up for it.
The Wii is fun for everyone, even my mom (who is a total non-gamer) plays Wii Sports with me. There's something about the Wii that everybody can enjoy.
I highly recommend the Wii for gamers who care about the quality and fun of the games, not just the graphics.
The Super Nintendo Entertainment System was the greatest console ever made, and I think that the Wii is going to be the next Super Nintendo.
(Please note that I am not a "fangirl", as I just ordered a 360 yesterday.)

The Wii is amazing! The Wii remote and Nunchuck make playing easy for everyone! You can check the Weather, find the latest News, go on the internet, make your own self on the Mii Channel, and many other things!

This system really is SO much fun when you buy it for the first time. It will last 5 days or less though. Im sad to say that nintendo didnt beat the ps3 but sort of tied with the Xbox360. My dad gave me a choice of the wii or the ps3 and I chose the wii at first. After I played a demo I realized that the wii got boring after a while. The graphics dissapoint me and the motion is an arm killer (And sometimes a TV killer). The launch titles are pretty fun but the motion gets annoying.
Its really fun for awhile and I recomend it to people who are desperate for a 7th generation system and arent in the mood to spend 350-400 bucks on a 360, or 600-800 bucks on a ps3.
By the way, I got the ps3 and its much better than the wii. Think of it as a wii and an XBox360 put together.
Oh whatever, im 12 who would listen to a kids review?

VERY FUN MACHINE! GRAPHICS ARE "INFERIOR" TO MUCH MORE HARDCORE CONSOLES SUCH AS PLAYSTATON 3 WHICH HAS HDMI AND 1080p FULL HD SPEC RESOLUTIONS. BUT OVERALL, VERY VERY FUN SYSTEM (THE WII THAT IS). JUST MAKE SURE NOT TO KNOCK UP YOUR PARTNER OR BREAK YOUR FLAT PANEL TV LIKE SO MANY HAVE BEFORE. =)

First of all, I agree with Andrew Eshleman of Oregon when he mentioned people selling the Wii for 2-4X the original price on E-bay and other sites. That is one reason people like myself can't find a Wii. I have a job and don't have the time to camp out at stores that carry the Wii. These folksthat camp out probably don't have a job or are businessman looking for some unfortunatefool to pay ridiculous prices for a video game console. Enough of that, the Wii is onefine piece of gaminghardware. It may not have the graphics of the PS3 or X-Box 360, but who cares?If the game is fun, addictive, it does not matter. Gamers like myself grew up on the NES because the games are fun, period. The Wii willplay all the Gamecube games and most peripherals as well. That's why most people want it.I'm sure when all the madness dies down, all the peopleout there will be able to get one.

As a Nintendo fan I was really looking forward to the "Revolution", but was really skeptical of the new controller concept and minimal enhancements to the graphics over the Gamecube. Initially I was looking to buy the PS3, but after I saw the price tag and heard all of the great things about the Wii, I knew I had to get one. My birthday was yesterday and was hoping to get a Wii, but was not holding my breath especially since my wife expressed no interest in getting it. But I got it a day early and my family and I love it, even my wife. As for those gamers who scream "graphics", I feel they are only part of the equation and a small part at that. Game-play for me is number one and Nintendo really hit the nail on the head! I love it and wouldn't trade it for anything.

This is an awesome system.period. The size of this thing is so much smaller than the others espicially the ps3. I think that the motion sensor ability in the controller is a very cool/good idea. And because the wii remote and nunchuk are both wireless to the system. It may not have the graphic capabilities like the others, but the graphics arent bad, and i love the games so far eg.Wii sports-great starter game if you have no more money to spend. Red steel-sure there are some bugs and the motion sensing does get clunky at times but its still a great new way to experiance FPS games in a whole new way. Bottom line buy this system if you can find one.

The Nintendo Wii is a load of fun and cool motions, but Nintendo could have done a better job on their graphics. Now most of the time I dont care about graphics, but in the seventh generation of gaming you would itleast figure Nintendo would take it up a notch. The controls will somtimes miss also. This could make you lose your last life on a game or get a game over. About 97% of the time the controls do work properly. This is a fun, exciting game console for the family, but its one of those systems that is for mostly non-gamers. But even though I am a game freak, I still play my Wii. Nintendo should have definatly released more games at launch, but the Wii still keeps you entertained. For just $249.99, this game is definatly worth it.

In the few weeks since I finally got my hands on Wii the thing that has surprised my most has been how much I've just enjoyed playing fun, simple games like Wii sports. I've played first person shooters for years, and have loved them. Over the years though I've discovered they are a lot like action movies though, same plot, often enjoyable, but fairly repetitive and predictable. I bought a Wii in hopes of experiencing different types of games. And so far I have been pleasantly surprised. I never thought I'd want to play tennis every day, but it's a great little 20 minute break from work to get me re-energized and get me out of my chair (the joys and perils of the home office). Ultimately I think this system has great potential and I hope the game designers take advantage of the new possibilities. It's been exactly what I was looking for in a game system, fun.

I first made this purchase to actually turn around and sell it .... I was able to get the last one out of a shipment. When I told people they would just rave how fun it was so my husband and I had to try it out....well we did and we are NOT gaming people we love to hike camp do outside things but we LOVE LOVE LOVE the wii it keeps us active while playing a game my four year old also loves it this is GREAT FAMILY FUN for all ages!

This is a gaming system which is fun for the whole family. Even adults who don't usually get into playing video games will enjoy this. Playing Wii Sports is easy and enjoyable. The kids also got Wario Ware and plan to get Zelda. Internet browsing on a computer is much better than on the Wii, but it's a nice option to have for just casual browsing when you're not near a pc. You probably need to get at least one extra Wii remote and you definitely need to buy extra batteries. We got NIMH rechargeables. I liked buying from Amazon as they are a trusted seller and delivery was within a reasonable time frame. I didn't have to wait in a long line!

Wii is definitely a great console. Even though its games don't have the superior 3D graphics in Xbox360 or PS3, they are so much fun. I only hated lack of availability when I decided to buy one, but it was worth it.

I want one of these but the price is so HIGH!!! I mean who wants to buy a Wii at that Insane price!!! They could probably make more money selling more less priced Wii's then selling overpriced ones. This just makes me mad!!

This doesn't have the hi-res graphics you'll find in XBox or PS2, nothing out there will touch the action and reality of the Wii.
I'm confident I'm either going to lose weight or I'm going to pull a muscle. After about 30 minutes of playing my grandson was sweating so much we had to take a break. I really do think they could put these in schools and parents would be ok with it.

The Nintendo Wii is the best gaming console I own. The innovative motion sensitive controllers add a whole new dimension to games. This system is sure to provide the entire family hours and hours of fun.

I am not the VIDEO GAME type girl.... I think Video games are lame and make you FAT.. but WII is awesome it will get you up your chair and make some cardio with the boxing game....

You'll have to try it out for yourself, but from my full 24 hours with the system, I have a pro/con list:
pros:
-Throw away your Gamecube! It plays the games, has 4 slots for GC controllers, and memory card slot
-WiFi with a browser on its way out
-Controller really puts you in the games
-Comes with WiiSports which is a good starter game for learning to use the remote
-FUN!
-MyWii is neat
-Can save MyWii to a remote and use your remote on someone elses Wii
cons:
-Quite a few titles already released, but nothing I want to play
-Controller takes some getting used to and doesn't seem right for all games
-Virtual console games a bit pricey ($5-$10), especially since I already own them on other consoles
-Had to re-sync controllers twice already. What happened?

I really got hooked on the simple freebe tennis that comes with it. It's cute, it's really fun. It's $250. It isn't perfect and neither will be one or two of your more uncoordinated friends who, when they can't hit the ball will blame the system. Compare it to the $500-700 systems if you want but why? It's a whole other fun thing. I liked bowling and Raving Rabids.

Luckily, I have a couple of connections to Amazon, so I was able to get the Nintendo Wii this holiday season. Let me first say- WOW. This is an incredible innovation- a must have for everyone. I was nervous when I first got it, however, because our family owns a widescreen 50" plasma screen. I thought the graphics would look blocky and pixelated, but I was wrong- this system is fine on larger screens. "Wii Sports", the included title, is incredible and shows off all of the posibilites that we all hope to see in the future. The reason, however, that I did not give this 5 stars overall is because if you get too close to the cencor bar (within about 3 feet) the aiming is way off, and I had to re-arrange some of the furnature in the room in order to maximize the pinpoint accuracy that this system offers- It was well worth it.
