Maybe people think that's not too necessary to play Wii games, but I can tell you that almost all games for Wii uses it. And you can by it at Amazon, I received my controls before the time that was schedule, and was in perfect condition and worked very well!!

I couldn't believe this has been out for more than 7 months and it is still so high in demand. After finally tracking down a console and purchasing one, I now know why it's still so high in demand. The graphics aren't comparable to Xbox 360 or the PS3, but the Wii was never meant to dominate when it comes to graphics. It has dominated, I believe, in how interactive and fun it is to play and in how easy it is to use. It can be used as an exercise regimen or a supplement to one. Nintendo really got down the physics of natural motions and they put out a very intuitive, easy to use, and fun product. Great job, Nintendo!!!

When I first began to use the Nunchuck I wondered what the heck is this all about. It is really a strange looking device that when connected to the Wiimote makes it a Nunchuck with less devasting consequences. Basically this controller takes the games to the 3-D level. Allowing you to control your character moving the analog stick. Although it is used in different ways for various games. What I really enjoy about the Nunchuck is that it adds more challenge. With many games I have noticed it creates more learning of the movements. As we slowly began to move out of our two dimensional game worlds into a trully three dimensional environment. Think of the Nunchuck as a connection of your body. In the game Rayman their are several parts where you are moving it up and down creating physical movement. It is hard to explain in writing. That is where actually physically doing it you begin to realize how much these games actually make sense now with your actual arm actions. In closing I would have to say the Nunchuck is not so much a necessity but a requirment for many games. If you ever plan on playing any multiplayer games this is obviously a must have.

This is a Review of the Nintendo Wii (Duh) alrighty lets go to the review part
Whats Good:
1.Virtual Console allows you to download games from The NES-N64 + Turbo Grafix and Sega Genesis
2.Games are VERY fun to play and come cheap like around 30-50$(as compared to Xbox 360/PS3 where some of their games range from 50-70$)
3.Can Play Gamecube games as well as Wii games (Duh)
4.Controller is very easy to use despite how it looks
5.The console isnt Gynormous *looks at a PS3*
The Bad:
1.Inferior graphics to PS3/X360
2.Online Service is not too good (as mentioned many times before you have to have friend codes)
3.Controller is EXPENSIVE sorta like the X360 Wireless controller as i have heard (I dont know actual price so dont yell at me if im wrong)
Down-Right Pointless *2 *2=randon stupid stuff (meant to be funny)

Ok, Where should I start. Nintendo was the one to revolutionize every controller that Xbox and Sony ever picked up. Who had the thumb sticks first???? NINTENDO. So, with that being said.......you will more then likely see sony and xbox come out with something very similar to what you get when you buy the Wii.
I stood in line for 16 hours, slept 3 hours of it on a cold concrete walk out front of my local best buy. ( I really wanted to make sure I got a system). Came home after buying all the things to get the Wii running and hooked up so the whole family can play.(ie. Extra remotes, 2gb mem card, and 3 games). The wife was not fond of the money that was spent on the system and the games, until she played it for the first time. On the games we have played the remote response has been great, the graphics are good, and the time the family spends together playing it each night is priceless. I give the Wii system 2 thumbs up plus some. I recommend this system to anyone that I talk to. You will get your moneys worth plus out of the system. Who cares if it does not play blu-ray dvd's. Blu-Ray = problems. Nintendo did a great job again on another awesome system. Get this before blowing the money on the PS3 which is going to have nothing but problems, just read the reviews on it.

I just got the Wii this morning after waiting only a few hours in line. Thanks to those who post on forums and customer discussion for tips that lead me to getting a Wii! This is the first time I have got a system directly after launch. I just couldn't wait for the Wii! --Setup was a breeze and packaging was very efficient. The controls are very nice and feel natural. The Wiimote is very responsive and play is very real. I have only had a few hours with Zelda and Wii Sports but I have no complaints with either one (I'll keep this to a Wii review). Someone complained in another review about the controller being too loud and not being able to adjust the speaker. There is an option to lower the volume. I even had my wife playing the Wii (and she was kicking butt) and she was honestly sick of hearing me talk about the Wii so that is saying a lot. After a while we were both laughing and having a great time. I have been grinning ever since the moment they handed me my white box. Don't pay a high price for an auction! Wait it out and keep hunting. I only looked for 2 days and finally got lucky. Thank you Nintendo, I can't wait to see what can be done with this system. Don't hesitate if you're thinking about the next system you want to purchase. Go for the Wii!

imagine you waited forever to find a wii in a store near you, and never had the chance. Imagine you went online and freaked out with the overpricing of used wiis. imagine that over 8 months later and u almost forgot wii was a console....u were just sitting in ur car parked outside walmart and ur only mission was to go in and buy a box of pencils and u happened to stop and see a wii rite there the last one what do you do YOU GRAB THE THING AND AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH LONG LIVE THE WII!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My roommate had a wii before i moved out. I loved it. I used to work for gamestop before I moved also. This is a great system. It is very social orientied and loads of fun if you have friends over to play. Here is a warning though, once u get a Wii then you run into the problem of finding the controllers for it. You will have to hunt for controllers. I recommend getting Zelda when you get the system. Wii sports is a great game, it just gets old after a while if you play by yourself. The virtual console is good so far, but not great. Many classic games that bring back memories. When i got my Wii, i just happened to walk into a gamestop and they had one left from their afternoon shipment. When i was buying mine someone else walked in asking for one. So if you dont wanna pay the money on ebay for one, just hunt around various game and huge retail stores. If you have young kids this is a great way to play with them and to be introduced to video games if you have not played for a while. Even for me at 23, I love this "kiddy" system.

I got a wii in June and I was really happy. it is true that wii doesn't have any good games except maybe wii play, zelda, and mario party 8. Still it is super fun. The motion thing is very cool. It is so awesome I have had so much fun for the past 2 months with it. It is very cheap too compared to the xbox and ps3. And for everybody who say the graphics are crap well they kind of are but you get over that soon. Buy this!!!

I never thought I would own a Nintendo but now I have two - the DS and the Wii. The Wii is true to it's development name "revolution". I am looking forward to more games, the included Wii sports are a fantastic hint at what is to come for the Wii. There is so much clever polish in the whole system, such as using other Mii characters in the games, and having a player's favorite color show up regularly in game elements.
My Kids took to the system right away and I have even got my wife playing Tennis.
The features beyond the games are show a lot of promise too. The "channels" available so far - news and weather and the Web browser in beta are a nice feature, I hope there are more to come.
My only disapointment is that Wii does not Play DVDs and they did not build in an Ethernet port but instead sell it as a $25.00 US accessory.

Stop with the innovating stuff everyone. This system is awful. Of course the graphics are ugly (and not only on zelda, but that's not the point anyway) but that we already knew it, but the controls are just awful.
1)You have to play on a large TV and pretty far from it
2) The TV pointing is fun at first but soon made me sick, there's nothing great about it, it's not a revolution, and in the games where you can (lkike zelda), i switched to aiming with the analog stick after 3h of play because i was sick with it.
3) The worst is the times when you have to move your controller to do an action (like in zelda), the controls dont respond like you want, and it adds a lot to an hazardous difficulty. If you want to buy this system for zelda, PLEASE DON'T, wait for it on gamecube and you'll be much less frustrated.
4)The built-in speaker in the controller is very cheap and the sound it makes is like in pac-man game. Plus mine broke after a couple of hours.. i hope it's just me.
5)Still my situation? Since there's no web browser (like the ps3 has - well if there's one i'd be glad to find it) you can 't connect on the net if you need a cookie to connect, e.g. on my campus you need to register to the campus wi-fi, can't do it on the wii, so no network.

Ever since I heard about how the controller was going to work I've been excited to play this machine. Finally in November, after waiting out in the cold for 16 hours I was able to get my hands on the Wii and play one. This is truly what the next revolution in gaming should be. I think Nintendo did the proper thing by not focusing on graphics and processing power like Microsoft and Sony, but instead changing the way we play.
When I first opened the box at 12:30 a.m. and saw the insides I knew this was a console for everyone. Everything is laid out in a way to hook it up quickly with little help from instructions. Within minutes I was swinging a "racket" at my TV and trying to move out of the way from jabs at me. Yes, the graphics are not much better than the Gamecube (which I tink was always better looking than a PS2) but I enjoy everything.
In the end, if you want to have fun playing games, and get out of your life for a while everyday, there is no better way to do it than with this console.

Amazing!!! is the only word for it. The guy who invented this is an absolute genius. None of us in our family are Video Game freaks. But this thing got us addicted and is so well designed and intuitive that you want to keep playing it.
It would have been nice if they provided HD abilities in this so you would not be looking at an alternate gaming device considering the latest advancements in technology. Nevertheless, the other consoles like PS3 and XBOX are no match to this.

So I was able to order one of these LONG before available and Amazon shipped it to me on the launch date. I had overnight shipping so it came the day after on Monday. Wii haven't stopped playing the system, except for the time when it errors out. Apparently there is an issue out there that is not being talked about very much which is system memory corruption. Nintendo has been very good about sending replacement units and they replaced mine instantly with 2day air shipping. However, my replacement unit was cracked so I got a third replacement which is expected to arrive tomorrow.
Another item that is a bit of a let down that the wireless in this is only 802.11b instead of 802.11g which would have been great as I support only G in my network which is a WDS setup with WPA2 encryption. I"m waiting for the LAN adapter to come out before putting this thing on my network which has been a bummer because I want to use the Wii points to download some stuff.
I'll have to say that all those troubles aside this has been one of the most entertainming gaming systems that I have ever owned.

First off, if you guys havn't played a Wii, I'm going to ask you not to rate it, your uneducated reviews only get in the way, secondly, this trually does look like a great system.
The biggest argument against the Wii is "bad" graphics, they certainly aren't bad, and seriously, if I'm playing Call of Duty with my friends, I'm not gunna sit there noticing how beautiful that bush is thanks to my PS3's graphics, no, I'm gunna be trying to blow some Nazis into next week, If I'm playing maddan, I'm not gunna care that I can see some linebackers sweat drip off his face, I'll be too busy trying not to get squished by him. The point is, when your really into a game and playing it the way it was meant to be, you really could care less about graphics, you'll be more concerned on how fun it is, and in my opinion, graphics are a very small part of that fun equation, its all about the gameplay. And in my opinion, the Wii has the best gameplay, the fealling of hitting a tennis ball is a lot more enjoyable if I am actually swinging the racket instead of just pushing a button, and boxing is a lot more enjoyable when I'm the one actually throwing the knock out punch. If your debating getting a Wii, my answer would as followed, get one. Especially if its over a PS3.

I played this system at a party one night. It was, in fact, the most fun I have had playing a console game in years. I left knowing that I would have to purchase one of these systems for myself. However, the next day I realized a great and shocking truth. The Nintendo Wii does not exist. I searched stores all around town only to be left unfulfilled. I searched online where vendors even as illustrious as Amazon were unable to sell me this device. However, Amazon was able to point me to several digital back alleys where I could purchase the aforementioned product at a mere 58 to 260% markup. However, I feared to go into those alleys as graduate study at a university is not conducive to such an immoderate lifestyle. That and I didn't want to wake up in a bathtub full of ice without a kidney. So, I sit in limbo, my fate ruled by the iron fist of an Italian plumber and his multi-national corporation hell-bent on allowing our desires to stagnate and fester.

Before I start the review, I do own an HDTV and I do have the component cables on order for Nintendo.
Graphics-They are much better than a lot of people give them credit before. They are not just right above the Gamecube or PS2, but just under that of the 360 and PS3. This is with the Standard Def cables on an HDTV.
Gameplay-The controller at first glance when I read about the system threw me as something that could be difficult and frustrating. After hooking it up and using them, I wonder how I ever managed without them. Easy to use and get a handle on, nothing complicated. You become a part of the game, finally. This controller makes the Wii a true NEXTGEN console.
Net connection-TBD (As Nintendo is currently working on these features, the 'Live' connection has a lot of potential to be just as good as XBOX Live and compete with the PS3 connection.) We'll see what Nintendo does with this feature over the up and coming year.
Price-No it doesn't have blueray, 1080p, or a compatiable HD drive, but it does have great gameplay, graphics that can compete with the 360/PS3 if need be, all for a fraction of the 360 and PS3. A true must buy, Nintendo has offically won me back after all these years away.

I think that the wii is the greatest living console out there. It beats the 360 and the PS3 by a mile. The best part is the Wiimote. You actually get to interact with some of the games unlike most console games where you just sit there and use the controller. I like the Wii Channels especially shopping because of the old generation games like Donkey Kong and things like that. I got my Wii on ebay and it sold for a reasonable price and Buy It Now, but my dad bid on like 10 of them but we got outbid on all of them. It took a while to get here but once we got it me and my sister started playing it instantly. My sister's thinking about getting Warioware smooth moves, also. In conclusion the wii is the greatest console in my opinion. Also I love the boxing game, too.

I am a Playstation nut and I've been talking down Nintendo for years now, especially after Gamecube, but no longer . . . The Wii absolutely revolutionizes video games. My wife can't stand video games . . . and then she played the Wii with me - fresh out of the box - she played it with me as she always used to do - out of a sense of obligation, just to spend time with me, but now she plays because she can't get enough of it herself! Once I got the hang of the controller, it became like an extension of me and I love it! The feeling of being "in the game" has been redefined by this game system. I loved the N64 (in it's day), hated the Gamecube, and now, I think the Wii may actually make me forget about gaming on any other system. I know people at a popular game company in California, and they are all telling me that they have twice as much fun with the Wii than they do with the PS3 - I will get a PS3 (of course!) but HD graphics and a Blueray DVD are NOT going to be enough to defeat the immersive gaming experience of the Nintendo Wii. My wife and I invited friends over to play the Wii with us, and you should've seen their mouths hanging open! It was awesome! Everyone of them left saying they wanted one. Nintendo . . . I'm yours again!

I absolutely love my Wii system! Just about every night my family and I are battling it out in the bowling alley, and I still expect to wake up one night and find my dad practicing golf when he thinks no one's watching.
My family as a whole has had other game systems in the past, but this is the first one that I personally have purchased, and I don't regret it at all. I can't wait to take it with me back up to school so my friends and I can have the ultimate Wii bowling showdown

If you haven't had a chance to try the new Nintendo Wii, find a friend that has one or check it out at Walmart or something, because even though it might seem silly to wave around the remote and make a fool of yourself, I would guess you would be surprised how original and fun the Wii is to use.
The problem with this console right now is that it is very hard to get your hands on unless you pay a fair amount more money and buy it from a private seller, and there aren't many games out for the system yet. Unless your really excited about a new game that HAS been released (like I was), I might suggest waiting for the hype to die down a bit and some new games to come out, and then you may be able to get one for a better price. It's definately worth checking out, though.
