Shockingly fun for a measly $250 investment. Got the PS3 and XBOX 360 as well, have to say WII is the most fun out of the 3. Especially when u have friends over or if your wife / young kids want to play, WII is for sure the winner.

I haven't been impressed by video game systems in recent years...aside from minor innovations, basically each new system represents an improvement in graphics. The basic concepts really remain the same...every once in awhile, you get something new, but by and large each game seems to be a knockoff of the previous. Sequels are ubiquitous. For that reason, I haven't really been a "gamer" since the NES was all the rage. My brother has been a big gamer, so I always try his latest system or hot game, but can never really get into it...then he brought the Wii out to my house. I have to say, Wii sports is very addictive. Although these aren't the most realistic graphics by modern standards, the Wii remote more than makes up for this shortfall. I find myself getting into the games, positioning myself as I really would for a real tennis or golf game. I haven't played any of the other games yet, so I'm curious how the Wii remote holds up for all the others.

When this system was first announced there were a lot people that thought Nintendo had gone crazy. I'm glad they were disappointed. This is a fine system with a few glitches here and there but it's a whole new level of gaming. I recommend wario ware and raving rabbits with the system because they show what the wii can do.

Pros:
-Innovative
-Cheap
-Good Internet Browser
-Some entertaining online features
Cons:
-Graphics are not next-gen
-No online play
-Few good games
-Only really meant for Adventure/Party Games
Now, if you have the money, I recommend you pick one up, but, for right now, the 360 is better. Luckily, with Mario Galaxy and Super Smash Brothers Brawl on the horizion, as well as online play, the Wii may catch up to the 360's reign of the next-gen generation.

This system is the best by far, look out Sony!!! This really gets you up out of your seat. A very interactive system. Would recommend it to anyone.

I got the wii for my birthday in May and have been playing every day almost! The other consoles out right now are way too expensive. The wii being only $250 at gamestop I thought it was a good deal. Its cool to play gamecube games on it. Mii channel is so cool that when you play the charecters look like you! I hope this review helps.

I am sure all you left handers out there that have bought the Wii and used the Nunchuk know what I'm saying! For those lefties that haven't yet, well all those years with having the main motion control under the left thumb are over! We can now have it where it belongs and let the dominant hand push some buttons!

Okay, I'm not a game reviewer or even your toughest critic just so you know. I'm a mom with a 4 year old. This was the simplest thing to hook up and get playing. Every thing that needed to be plugged in to the back of the console has a different size or shape so even those who are prone to not reading anything that comes in the package could set it up. The only thing that I did read was for the sensor that goes on top of the tv and which way the disk went in. It walks you through setting the date and time and then your good to go! My 4 year old is bowling as I am sitting here writing this and he's not doing to bad - for a 4 year old. Since a lot of the games are for multiple people on the sports disk that comes with the console, you'll want multiple controllers so that everyone can play! Read the other gals review for more technical or gamer perspective. Great price for everything. By the way, it detected our wireless without a problem, I don't know our settings to actually set it up but it walked me through that also until I couldn't go any further.

My brother recently got a Wii for his birthday and I have to say, it was worth the wait! We currently have Wii Sports and Zelda: Twilight Princess on it. They're both lots of fun! My dad agrees that it's fun, and he's not a gamer at all. And the Wii is good arm exercise. My arms were sore for 2 days after boxing on Wii Sports so much. This is a short review, but I don't care.

I was skeptical, but it really is a big change in video gaming. It's a chance for Americans to change behavior. It is a much more active gaming experience in that you must actually move your body around a little to play. The controller functions as a virtual baseball bat, tennis racket, bowling ball, etc. You will at least get some exercise while enjoying sporting activity in the comfort of your own home. That is, no one will see your sorry behind as you try to recapture a modicum of human coordination and fitness. Go ahead, and swing away without fear of laughter and sit down when you need to :)
As a post-middle aged tubby, I think it's great! There are many other active games that could be programmed besides just traditional sports if it catches on.
Add to that the low price compared to the more hyped machines that have come out recently and you have quite a deal. As the natural economies of scale come in the fullness of time, this system can be in the price range of a lot of people and might provide a lot of healthy fun.

The Wii is a great electronic device that helps the family play together. Unlike other consoles (we love those too), the Wii encourages players to stand up and move. We have a house rule, while playing the Wii, everyone has to stand up. The handheld remotes work well from any position, seated, laying down, etc., but the fun is in the motion. There's a variety of software games available. We especially love the sports because it reinforces healthy competition with each other. I really don't think we'll ever get tired of it.

I would recommend the WII to anyone who likes games and interaction. The WII lets you be in the game! I like that it is small and compact, not to bulky! I hadnt had so much fun with a system in a very long time!

Where to start. The wii is absolutely amazing. It is defining video games as you are reading this review. With the ability to not only buy new games, but you can download all those classic games from N64,Nes, Super-nes, Genesis, and turbografix 16. If this alone doesnt satisfy you, new games such as the legend of Zelda TP will keep any gamer occupied. New games such as Super Smash Brothers Brawl, and Super Mario Galaxy are planned for later this year. If these things arent convincing enough, the wii can also give you the weather and the news. Even Internet! Opera software is downloadable on the wii so you can even use youtube to watch your favorite vids on the wii!
I am completely satisfied with the wii, and would recommend it in a heart beat.

I remember getting the original NES for Christmas back in the day.. Oh man, that system brought arcades home for real for the first time. Elegant simplicity.

I don't know who woke up one morning over there in Japan and said, "A Wii-Mote would be better". But it is..

Being 26. I grew up playing nintendo. My roots came from them. I grew up and the games became to simple and childish for me. Sure its a fun console... and i'll always love Mario and his games.. but there are no more challenges for me in that console.
The Wii is a great Console for kids. My cousin owns one and it's fun when the kids are around. The fun factor doesn't last too long though... especially when you're playing solo.
I currently own a PS3... and yes, i am a die hard playstation fan. And i do realize that their fan base is pointed more directly from teens to adults. The PlayStation 3 is a super machine and... sooner or later will take the lead for the NEXT GEN CONSOLES.

Everyone in the family will love the Nintendo Wii.
And with the new games on the way, the Wii is well worth the money.
The Wii-Fit, the full-body exercise and workout title is in development and should be excellent.

so many people have reviewed this product already, i'll just give my 5-star rating and let you read the other reviews, which are pretty detailed and accurate.
the only thing i'd like to add is that the bundled sports titles are really good workout games (well, you have to really play it and not just move your fingers and wave your hand). reminds me of ddr.

I have never had so much fun with a game console! The Wii remote is just plain innovative -- personally, that's why I think it's so popular! Even my kids love it, and they are pretty young. My 3-year-old especially enjoys playing golf! (He can't putt for crap, but drives it pretty well.)

I've had the Wii for about two months now and it's the most captivating game console I've ever owned. The console itself is fun: I like making Miis, voting in the Wii Vote Channel, and watching YouTube videos via the Internet Channel. Best console I've ever bought, zero regrets, period.

Well I am already over the hill age wise and have been a computer geek since the Timex 2k. I have played games this whole time. My husband has finally burned out with getting the newest games because they have just too complicated button pushing sequences..and I hate the redundant, vulgar direction many games are heading and am slowing down on my reflexes, soooo did this mean we were stuck? Along comes the Wii and we are again able to "Play together"! My favorite game with my kids while they were growing up was MULE because we would all play together instead of aloof off in our own corner as most games now-a-days. I hale Nintendo's direction and will look forward to more multi-in-the-room-player games. It means my kids bring the grand kids more often so we can all bowl or play baseball or bop rabbits together and fun is once more enabled within electronics!

Yes when you pick up the wiimote for the first time and play Wii Sports you are going to think its pretty nifty. But it won't take long until you get tired of all those minigames and shaking the controller around in Zelda until you just want to use a normal control pad again. Then you are going to start to realize that the Wii is very limited graphics wise and most games barely look better then gamecube games at launch. Sure you are going to have some fun for a little while...until you go over to your friends house and see Gears of War on the 360 in HD for the first time. Then its going to sink in....why oh why did you give into the hype of the wiimote? Does shaking that thing around really make games like Dragon Ball Z and Marvel Ultimate Alliance any better? If you read reviews the answer to that is no. So keep a clear head...and don't give into the hype. Nintendo is reselling you a gamecube in a new box...don't be a fool. Save up some cash and get a real next gen console. Either the XBOX 360 or PS3 will do.

I did not realize that this was not a Nintendo made Nunchuck. I hate aftermarket controllers and although this one is licenced by Nintendo and looks identical, the trigger button sticks a little bit and is very slow to reset making it impossible to to push the button in rapidly. I also have an official Nintendo Nunchuck and it works much better. Avoid after market controllers, they never seem to work right.

My 11 yo son got a Wii for his birthday and the whole family has enjoyed it. My husband plays with them everyday. We like that instead of sitting down moving your thumbs only, it gets the kids up and moving. Huge hit and looking forward to more games that are active.
