Most fun games require a nunchuck, so you have to have it if you have already had a Wii console.One thing I don't like is the wire connecting two controller. It is not comfortable for moving.

Our Wii lasted three weeks before it died and it died a slow painful death becoming more and more unstable and quirky untit it just didnt work at all. One remote died with 5 days so we bought another for the bargain price of $[...]! Fun game but machine is built to such poor standards that it is unusable. Our neighbors has a similar history. Good luck getting warranty nowadays. Pure profit margin, no quality. Avoid.

Nintendo has done an amazing job with this system. My boys (13 and 16) love this system. I would caution to start smaller children with the game cube before spending the money on this system. It offers games for small children but there are so many additional features that younger children may never use.

I had my reservations about the Wii but the more I read about, the more I realized I would end up praising Nintendo's ability to create a GREAT gaming experiences than overloading their graphics ability. It's a great system to have groups of people playing together, creating a fantastic environment for social gaming, and at least Twilight Prinecss has just wowed this Zelda fan to even more loyalty.
The remotes do take some getting used to and it often feels the gyroscopes are a little off, but overall a novel idea. The batteries die very quickly though so it might be best to invest in some good rechargable sets.

I was finally able to get a Wii after months of wanting one, and it lives up to its hype. It is so much fun. Wii Sports is great, and really shows you how the Wii Remote works. Also, the game isn't as shallow as people think. There are practice modes, fitness tests, trying to become a pro, the game is actually pretty deep. Videogames aren't only about graphics anymore, it is about gameplay. That is why the Wii is selling so well. That is why the Wii is the best.

I don't know if there's an alternative to one of these, but you need a nunchuk to play boxing, Zelda, and Trauma Center. You only need two though, I don't know of any 4-player games that use the nunchuk

This is only the 2nd review I've ever written on Amazon, but I just had to say a few things about the Wii. It's great. It only took 15 minutes to setup and then I was playing tennis, boxing, bowling, and finally the Marvel Ultimate Alliance game. This game is great for two big reasons. First, I actually got tired boxing and got a little winded playing tennis. That is great for the kids. They won't just sit there and push buttons. The 2nd great thing is the numchuck. I have never been good at figuring out the combiantions of buttons to press, and the numchuck minizmizes the need for that skill. The only negative are the graphics, but for $250 they are fine. I just started playing today, so I will probably update this later.

If you are a casual or hardcore gamer, the Wii is for you. The wiimote enhanced the gaming experience and games like first-person shooters became more easier to play. If you want awesome games, buy Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime Corruption, Paper Mario, Wario Ware, Zack & Wiki, Fire Emblem and the upcoming Smash Bros. Brawl.

..not to mention that I too have a fraking blast with this thing. My son and I got up early and headed out to Wal Mart at 6:00am and stood in line for one of these...It was well worth it. This thing is the biggest step forward in a video game console since Nintendo went from Super Nintendo to the Nintendo 64. Only this growth is even bigger.
The synchronization between your body movements and the movements the character perform on screen is INCREDIBLE. Nothing to worry about here folks..Do what you can and get one of these things.

I originally (and selfishly) bought this system just for the new Zelda game. I quickly realized that here was a console I could let my kids loose on and they'd get plenty of exercise with the included Wii Sports. The entire family bowls, golfs and plays tennis together. It's a hoot.
You can also play your Gamecube games on this system and, surprisingly, the graphics are much better and you can use your Gamecube controllers and memory cards.
I've recommended the Wii to numerous parents at my child's school for the exercise and coordination benefits. There's no feeling guilty about letting your kids play the Wii. I've even gotten some badly needed exercise from it.
You can also play your Gamecube games on this system and, surprisingly, the graphics are much better and you can use your Gamecube controllers and memory cards.

most fun I ever got from any video game. Wii sport that comes with the machine is very much addictive. The twilight princess is even more. I couldn't stop until I finished the whole game. And I am planning to re-start from the right beginning again. Best in almost every aspect. And the image quality is also pretty good. I know PS3 or XBOX360 gives better audio and video. But, hey, this is a game. Wii is the best game experience. Try it if you haven't.

I'm a 11 year old girl with a 15 year old brother and a 9 year old sister. I had no interest in this gaming system until I went to the Nintendo World Store in NYC. I tried out the Wii and I absolutly LOVED IT! Luckily, they were in stock so my mom and dad got one for us! I recommend you get more than one controler. It's so cool! It comes with 5 different sports: Baseball, Tennis, Bowling, Golf, and Boxing. It's a fun thing to do with my whole family! On New Years Eve, we were bowling, playing tennis, and a playing a little baseball. We all loved it so much we bought the Zelda game. It's tons of fun. GET THE WII! IT'S AWESOME!

I have purchased the Nintendo Wii. At first it is great, the motion sensative controllers are awsome. About a week after I bought it I started to wonder if I bouht the right console. Yes the controllers are great but the graphics and gameplay are terrible for this new generation of gaming. Also besides Wii sports the games are generally kid games. For me, a person who enjoys graphics,game quality, and games, the Wii is not for me. I sold my Wii and bought an Xbox 360. The 360 is the best gaming system in any aspect I can think of. Overall the Wii has great controllers (the nunchuck) but just doesnt measure up to the Xbox 360 and the PS3. My advice buy an Xbox 360.

OK, I have two kids ones is an active and outdoor person. The other has to be forced outside. We finally picked this game up at Best Buy after waiting in line for two hours in the cold and rain. It was totally worth it. They are both sweating playing this game, it's an exercise machine too. If you are just thinking about this or are on the fence on whether or not to get it, I have to say you need to take the plunge. My son is finally getting some exercise, and my other son is finally learning to interact with computers. It was win/win for me...

I stood in line at GameStop starting at 4:30 am (I was third in line) to get this today. This is the third line I've stood in since launch and it was so worth it. If you have young kids (mine are 7 and 8) this is the system for you. We've been enjoying playing the Wii Sports all morning and my kids picked up on how to use the Wiimote pretty fast. I heard stories of people dropping/throwing the Wiimote on accident but so far we have had no problems. I think my kids favorite is Rayman Raving Rabbids and mine is either Zelda or Avatar. If you can't get a Wii right away and want one...just wait it out for restocking at stores. Don't buy the auctions, etc. with the high prices. Eventually you will be able to get one at regular price if you are patient.

Alot of fun. Easy to learn controls. Less intimidating than other consoles due to the unimposing look of the controller. Yeah sounds like a press release from Nintendo but all turn out to be true. My wife hates video games but loved Wii sports. Just pick up and play. No complicated tutorials. No shapes on the controller to represent certain actions. No weird combos. Just swing a bat/racket/club, and your character does that action. Simple. Boxing rules by the way. Fun in the Mike Tysons Punchout kinda way. Alot of fun. The Wii is also a little graphics powerhouse. Call of Duty 3, Zelda, Need for Speed Carbon, all blew me away with how nice the graphics were. The Wii is for real. It's a blast.

Yes, maybe Wii doesn't have such a high spec as XBox360 or PS3 (I want both of them too), but the entertainment value is off the chart when you are playing a game that make good use of the Wii's capabilities. For me, Wii Sport, although free, is by far the best game I have ever played in a long time. If you say tennis is too easy to be of any fun, try to rank up or play against a buddy of yours who's really good at it...

The more I play the Nintendo Wii, the more impressed I am. The lights on the remote to indicate which player you are, the speaker in the remote, and the force feedback are all nice touches. There is some quirkiness with the remote's sensitivity at times -- especially with the infrared-based pointing function (that is the reason for the slight deduction). A lot of thought went into the product and its design and it shows. The price point is another delighter.
Wii Sports is much more entertaining than you'd think it would be. The kids have also enjoyed a couple of rented games (Raving Rabbids and fighting game whose name escapes me at the moment).
The ability to play GameCube games and use GameCube controllers is also quite handy.

like i said in my reveiw of the classic controller i feel they are great products but to get full use of wii you need to buy 85 dollars worth in controllers which i feel is a little much.but i feel that it is worth having but mayb try to find sales or used merch.

First off, the "innovative controllers" we've been hearing about for months are truly what they were billed as: intuitive, active, and innovative. WiiSports, Zelda TP, and Trauma Center are incredibly fun. Zelda is beautiful to look at, no matter what the "graphical limitations" of the Wii are.
Secondly, the games I list above make full use of the new control setup.
For the price, the Wii is a remarkable setup. You might not have the "flashiness" of the 360 or PS3, but trust me...having seen all three side-by-side running Madden '07, the graphical difference is more Dreamcast/PS2 than PS1/PS2.
Anyone who's seen Resident Evil 4 on Gamecube, should be excited about what Nintendo will be able to do with this system.

The nunchuk is needed for mostly every wii game available. Since stores rarely have them in stock, it is nice to find a brand new one that isn't expensive. And it works great too.

The Wii is a lot of fun. It comes with Wii Sports, which is a great game to get you off the couch and playing tennis, baseball, golf, bowling, or boxing. The use of the motion-sensing controller is amazingly intuitive and fun. This is the first console I've bought with my own money (had the Atari 2600 when I was young). My wife was anti-videogame, until she got hooked on the Wii.

I have played a PS3 and played an Xbox 360 and they were only as much fun as their predessors. The Wii on the other hand is new and innovative. It is really easy to get into. The Wii may not have amazing graphics but when youre playing you hardly notice that. It also has some amazing games like The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess. To it also has a Virtual Console which allows you to download games from systems like the N64 and the NES. Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 don't have any features like that. But the absolute best thing of all is the motion sensative controller. In Zelda when you swing the Wiimote youre swrd slashes. There are so many abbilities of the Wiimote. Buy the Wii and you wont be dissapointed.
