Великолепно

I am an amateur photography with aspirations to do more professional work some day. This camera is perfect for me. It makes any picture look amazing, and is pretty simple to try out all of the custom settings. I am more than pleased with it and have suggested it to several of my friends who have also purchased it and been thrilled with it. High quality images.

I upgraded from my Nikon D200 and even though so far I am liking the D5100, it's taking a little while to get used to. The first difference is the size and weight. The 5100 seems so small and light. Not necessarily bad, just different. I can definitely say that the Auto setting works really well, and most of the exposure problems I had with the D200 have gone away. A lot of my photos at work are just quick group shots or events and it works great. I do like some of the Effects settings as well, although I think they should be used with caution because sometimes they go a little far with sharpening and contrast and you end of fixing them in Photoshop.Most of my lenses for my D200 either do not work or have limited function with the 5100. For a majority of my portrait work, I use the Nikon 50mm and although it works with the 5100, there is no auto focus. But, I must say, the focus bar on the 5100 is awesome. I thought I would end up buying a new 50mm, but I think I can do without. I also have the Rokinon 85mm and it doesn't work at all, I'll have to upgrade.I've only had it two weeks, but I think I'm going to like it. Just going to take a little of time to figure it all out!

for the price, the quality is excellent and options available on this body are superb.. i absolutely love this body and the nifty fifty, if i can ever get quick at manually focusing. the included kit lens is pretty good too, it's my all around shooter and works well for most scenarios, but save some money for a zoom lens, otherwise you'll be sad to see that 55mm isnt all that much.

I moved from a 40DX to this D5100. It is really fast for a smaller camera and I'm using only 2 lens with it; a prime 50mm f 1.8 & the 18mm-200mm zoom lens. I'm so happy with this camera, it will be with me for a long while.

Great camera, fast, responsive, fantastic image quality even in low light. Great camera for a newbie who plans on expanding into manual options. Swivel screen is great too.Video mode works great and it starts almost instantly.I ordered a "used" model but they actually sent me a refurbished model so that was nice. No scuffs or anything, looks brand new

I bought this camera over a year ago or so. Just now I noticed a red hot pixel in every image it takes. It's very tiny and you can clone it out in Photoshop, but that is disappointing. I feel like buying a Canon again next purchase. Too many problems with the Nikon for the $700 I paid.

Great camera. Takes beautiful photos. i bought it because I wanted a good camera and video camera in one. The only thing that is making this rating a 4 instead of a 5 is that when I'm shooting video I need to refocus(by pressing button down half way) if a person is moving towards or away from the camera. When I press the button it makes a noise that is audible during playback. annoying! Really is a great camera.

I wanted a good SLR camera for my Vegas trip. Did some research and found D5100 to be a good DSLR. Thought I would return it after the trip, if I dont like it, but after my trip I was so hooked up with the camera that I ended up upgraded the lens to 18-105 instead of the default lens.Awesome camera for people who like to take great pictures occasionally, after all pictures are memories forever.

I am definitely a beginning photographer and bought this as my beginning DSLR, and for that purpose it is perfect! I took great pictures on vacation this past month and it has not failed me yet. As I learn more I hope to get more out of the camera but so far I am very impressed by the pictures I have so far.

My wife and I shoot a local short track asphalt racing. We had purchased a Nikon D7000 and needed another camera but couldn't quite swing the cost of another. After researching we found that the D5100 shared a lot of the same features as the D7000 at a considerable savings. While the D7000 does have a few advantages of the D5100, for the money we feel like we made a good decision.

Abour 7 years ago I bought a D70 and used it with the 18-200 lens and the 50 mm f1.8. The 50 mm does not work on the new camera (it would work on the higher priced 7000.I was thinking about an upgrade to a new camera for a couple of months and as I left this months for a cruise to the Holy Land I decided that I better do it now. And I am glad I did.I took the 18-200 and for inside photos my son's 35 mm Nikon f 1.8 as in many churches you were not allowed to use a flash. It worked great. The adjustable LCD screen is great also when you want to shoot photos holding the camera above a crowd or to shoot photos of people when I wanted them not to see that I was shooting a photo.A definate buy.Christian BellingrathApollo Beach, FL

I have been a nikon user for more than 12 years, and I end up with the D5100 as a step down from the super D90. I had some issues with the D90 after 3 years of using it, and when I wanted to change to the D7000, the market was empty and I couldn't locate one, so I got the D5100 which have the same sensor, almost same features and here are the good things about it:1- amazing photo quality for automatic settings2- good low light and no-flash photos, acceptable noise in high iso3- very light even with power zoom (18-200 vr)what I mis1- the "click" in the shutter, the D5100 is so not egressive, it sound very soft2- the "grip" as compared to the D90. this one feels like a toy and its too small3- the control bottons are not well located , its al little bit confusing to select options4- no top LCDoverall, its a good camera, and i am happy but not very happy with the handling, but its a keeper.

Wanted a quality camera for a begining photographer. The D-5100 is light weight, yields beautiful images printed at 11.5 x 17 inches, learning to change settings on controlls by using navigator dial on rear is quick and easy, and there is a help button on the right rear side with quick hints. The rotating rear screen lets you aquire images at odd angles. The top of the camera does not have a settings window on the right side, but the simple push of a button opens a window with setting data on the rear screen.BOTTOM LINE: We took two of these on a recent trip, and both new photographers aquired beautiful shots.

I don't know that I can even say how much I love this camera. For all types of shooting this camera seems to be able to do it all. I have all Nikon lenses for this camera and really cannot say I dislike anything. I only have one thing that I have struggled with which is the delayed and remote shutter settings seem to be lacking for my desire. But simply amazing photos become the usual so quickly with this thing.

Anyone who is willing to drop this amount of money on a camera is seriously wanting a good one. This is great for pros (my husband) and the lay-men (me). My husband is able to do everything on manual and get a more detailed picture and the automatic is easy to use and quick.

I purchased this camera as a "back-up" camera to my Nikon D80 and also for the purpose of recording videos. For the price, it's a great camera! Using my 35mm lens, it record very crisp video and the sound quality isn't terrible, either! I'd definitely recommend it for someone wanting a more simple DSLR with the ability to record!

Used to have the Canon T2i but changed for the Nikon D5100 and I'm very happy with the upgrade.The image quality and color is a bit better, it has the capability of doing in camera editing, it has more focus points, it has an OUTSTANDING LOW LIGHT PERFORMANCE, and it definitely feels better in my hands.Go for it!

I really love this camera. I am a beginner and with a little bit of internet reading on basic photography, I was off using manual mode ASAP. I have captured some amazing shots with my limited skill and time. I think this camera really gives me room to "grow" into it, also. I am looking to get another lens but the one that comes with this camera is not just a throw away.

This is my fourth Nikon DSLR body, so there is a big comfort factor for me with compatibility for Nikon flash, Nikon lenses, and user interface protocols. Image quality is slightly but noticeably better than the D5000. I've had it for two weeks, and have been enjoying the effects options and high ISO performance. No-brainer snapshots are readily accessible in AUTO mode, and low light performance is quite good with the 35mm f1.8 lens. For the price, this is outstanding.

To be fair, after two weeks playing with it and now comparing it to a newly arrived D7000, I have to say that for non-technical shooting and general snap-shots, this is a nice little camera. In most cases, its photos are indestiguishable from the D7000, and that is the bottom-line in 95% of the cases. Both cameras outperform anything Nikon has put out in the prosumer range prior to this. I loved my D90 and used it more than my D300, which I now only use for studio work, or when I might get banged-up in the field. The D7000 performs better than the D300 and it's lighter. The D5100 is still close, but with such limited options, it just isn't as versatile or adaptable as the others.I got a tongue-lashing for caring about a depth of field button, but professionals use selective focus a lot! The focus array on the D5100 seems adequate, but I found two situations today where the D7000 did a better job. I'm going to take both bodies out to shoot aspen and the rut tomorrow. We'll see how they do in a real work situation. I'll probably use the D5100 for wide angle and macro shots. I'll use the D7000 for big, fast lenses that might be too much for a plastic body.I haven't tried movie mode or some of the other features of either camera. The "special effects" menu looks like toyland, and I doubt anyone serious about photography would use them.This is a decent camera. I like its size, but not its handling, even with a vertical grip. The "Live View" is not particularly impressive, especially outdoors in the sun. The 16 MP feature is overkill in most situations. After 10MP, more is not necessarily better...unless you have very special purposes. We just tend to be memory gluttons on electronics in general. I have a 65" TV and past 1900 or maybe, 2400 pixels, it's overkill. When was the last time you printed a 30'X40" print?In the end, it is what it is...A nice, simple camera that takes decent photos without a lot of hassle.

This camera was bought when D70s quit working correctly and fixing it would cost nearly as much as a new D5100 body. It's lighter and smaller but feels well balanced and focuses very quickly with a 18-70mm Nikkor Zoom Lens and a 55-200mm (Vibration Reduction) Nikkor Zoom Lens used previously. It provides a step up with much better ISO light sensitivity, resolution and focusing. We haven't taken enough pictures yet to comment about its reliabiltiy.

Wow, this is a nice camera. I'm an old film camera guy. I always used Nikon cameras and glass for my photography. I'm really impressed with how sharp the photos are, the depth of color and the quality of the overall outfit. Even the "kit" lens is really good. I would have no problem recomending this to a friend.

It was a toss up between the 5100 and the 3100. But the 5100 has a swivel view screen that you can pull out and turn a variety of ways to see what you are shooting. 16.2 MP is nothing to sneeze at. Camera is easy to use, automatic settings or manual. NIkon makes some of the best lenses available. The 18-55 mm is going to make most folks who do landscape and people pictures happy.

Amazed at all of the updates that are on this camera/video shooter. I went from a D3000 to the D5100. It shipped fast, Norman's Camera even saved me money on shipped after I called them about when I could pick it up. Fed Ex worked with me to ensure I had it before my trip.

With Nikon lenses this camera is a typical of Nikon Philosophy cameras. Good WYSIWYG in the viewer. The sync for flashes seems to be only truly dedicated to Nikon flashes; other flashes work, but only straight on, not indirectly or bounce mode. f/11 and f/16 are quite sharp. The preset camera modes are generally good, but low light demands a tripod for some. The meter system is better than the D-40 in most cases.

As almost everything I've bought from Amazon, it arrived before schedule and in good condition. Just be sure you realize the difference between a camera with lens and just the base. Price differ but know what you order. The base fits all my other Nikon lens but the old ones I need to focus manually. It's a great camera

Upgraded to this camera from a couple of old Minolta film cameras (one manual, one automatic).I can't speak to all the technical details, it seems to do what it needs to do well, and has enough advanced functions to keep an amateur like myself both busy, engaged, and sometimes bewildered.Great pictures when great pictures are composed, vivid colors, all around happy with this.If you're an amateur, have a limited budget, and still want some room to grown and learn, I certainly recommend this.My biggest gripes: lack of a real HDR setting (which is probably appreciated by others), and, as far as I can tell, when setting the camera to shoot with a remote, you can only take one picture and then have to go back to the camera to set up again. Weird.

I started out with a Nikon D40, which was perfect for a beginner DSLR user. Moving to the D5100 was a smart move when it was time for an upgrade. There is a bit of a learning curve involved in mastering this camera, but I feel the effort will be well worth it.

I've had the camera for a couple of weeks, and I love it. The quality has been overly great in comparison to my old d3000, and the video quality is good as well. Could ask for a bit more manual control over the video, but I'll take what I can get for now. Overall, a great camera and I love using it.

I have not been this happy with a digital SLR purchase since the 1d Mk2 around 2004/5. It does everything that you need in an SLR, but at the price of an advanced P&S.If it were not for professional use (high demands on a camera body for speed and durability), this would be THE Dslr for me. Swivel screen makes it fun to get low/high and compose your shots. Focusing with the center point is great, fast(ish) and accurate to a fault using the likes of a 40mm micro, and 17-55/2.8 Nikkor.The resolution is great and provides real estate that allows for detailed and beautiful prints up to around 20x30". Great set of features for this price bracket too.Get one.
