Ужасно

I purchased the D5100 body to upgrade from my older D60. Any how the purpose otherwise was to get rid of bad pixels, but the first D5100 had one really obvious one, sent it back, and the replacement was so bad it reminded be of looking at my old D60, so sent it back for refund this time. Well my conclusion is to never order a a camera again, just maybe accessories no camera body, harder to go wrong.

This camera is mechanically great. I mean, it takes great shots, feels solid, and stands up to the scrutiny Nikon owners have for their gear.HOWEVER...It is very menu intensive and doesn't have the ability to store settings profiles.Every time you need to change settings you have to take you eyes off your subject/environment and sift through menus on the LCD. There is almost nothing that can be switched or changed by feel.Bottom line: Great camera, but it is much more on the "consumer" side of a "pro-sumer" DSLR...

If you wanted to always be a great photographer or you already are, then you need this camera! This camera is an amazing camera and the pictures turn out amazing in a full high definition shot! The only bad thing about this camera is that it is very expensive. Most cameras made by a different brand are not nearly as much money. I recommend this camera to anybody who loves taking pictures!

Buy this camera if you have a D200 or older. It blows both my D70 and D200 away in almost all areas except weather-sealing. That said, I don't generally photograph out in the rain or extreme cold, so that doesn't matter so much to me. It offers compatibility with up to 64GB SD-cards, for cheap and reliable storage. It is better than the D200 in......focusing speed (better results under more challenging situations....battery life (at least 4X, probably more). I photographed an entire wedding including over 1000 pictures and the battery never moved off 4 bars. My D200, which I was using as a secondary with a fast portrait lens went dead twice, with fewer pictures taken in the same time period....low-light sensitivity. Read the specs. Very useable results up to 6400, but goes higher with better results than the D200 at 3200....tons of shooting features, including 1080p video...."beginner" dial makes it extremely easy to switch modes....huge 3-inch display with live view.Cons......must manually focus older lenses requiring focus motor.You can "surf" this price range ($500-$600), buying new cameras every year and get more capabilities faster as compared to opting for a more expensive model such as the D7000 and upgrading every three to four years instead for the same money, except less up front cost each year.

This camera was my step up from my D3000, and I simply love it. For the money, I can't recommend it highly enough. If you have the funds and plan to stick with DX format, go for the D7100 for the additional features, but otherwise, this camera along with some good glass is really outstanding.

I am just beginning my journey into photography and I have found the Nikon D5100 easy to use and more than capable of performing for my needs. I needed a good camera to create product shots for an online catalog. I attempted to use a Point and Shoot but I could not get those close-up detailed shots that are necessary in some cases. The D5100 along with a Macro lens, have satisfied that need.It takes some time learning how to use it, but the effort is worth it. A great beginner camera for those stepping into the Digital SLR world.

The Nikon 5100 is the best camera under $1,000 with excellent clarity, features and ability to take low light pictures. The Nikon 5100 has about the same quality pictures as the D7000 but without all the extras. If you buy the Nikon 5100 body also get the Nikon 35mm 1.8 Af-S Prime len for $200. The Len does not zoom which at first may seem like a deal breaker but it teaches you to work for the picture and understand what you're doing. Also the Len is insanely fast, crystal clear, excels in low light and ability to create great bokeh (focused subject w/ blurred background). Once you understand how to take pictures the next logical progression is to buy either the 55-300 or 70-300 len. I currently own the 1.8 prime and the 55-300 and there isn't a picture that I can't take. I use the prime len for 95% of my shots and use the zoom lens when I need pictures at a distance.Don't be FOOLED by mega pixels, they are a marketing ploy, anything over 10mp is a waste unless you plan to print images over 2x2 feet. Nikon 5100 > Nikon 3200

I previously had a P500 which had a problem and KEH was kind enough to refund so I updated to the D5100 and glad I did. I wanted the mic input which the D5100 had for production of industrial videos. I made up a mini stereo to XLR L-R cable and can now feed the camera with a small mixer. I use transmitter lapel mics on talent which moves or requires freedom of movement. This was a biggie for me. I bought the camera with an 18-55mm lens and not real happy with the glass. I plan to buy a 35mm 1.8 in the near future for clearer shots. The sensitivity of the D5100 in low light is I think hindered by this lens and I'm hoping the 35mm 1.8 will give me the almost 2 stops better sensitivity. I recently purchased the remote and hope there is more than just a snapshot control. I would have liked a nylon 1' lens-cap lead I could easily remove with a snap release but the camera came with none. It took me a while to figure out Aftertouch features will not work with RAW snapshots unless view through lens was turned off. Would have liked the lens viewer to have full video and parameter capability but I realize the price of the camera is likely the reason it was left out. I selected Adobe raw thinking my Photoshop CS2 would then accept the pic but was sadly mistaken. I think all these new SLRs cameras should be able to produce pics with TIFF outputs so conversions are not necessary. Unfortunately versions of PS below PS3 are not upgradable. I can however use iphoto on Mac to convert easily so things are OK for me.

I've had the Nikon D5100 just a few weeks shy of a year. I went shooting a few days ago and took about 200 photos only to discover that after maybe 20 everything else was BLACK! Apparently this is an issue with this caamera. I've just shipped the camera back to Nikon for either a repair with a one year warranty (standard is 6 mths), a new camera or a full refund. I think this is a manufacturer's defect. I went searching online to see if anyone else was having this problem, this is what I found [...].The delete button also only works sometimes. I'm hoping that there are only a few of these cameras out there and this isn't a widespread problem. My camera shop also had a customer who turned in her D5100 for repair due to this exact problem.I really like this camera,it takes beautiful pictures and has many features included.I'll keep posting updates as to what Nikon's response to my request is :-)May 4th, 2013Two weeks ago I started having the same problem again! I took several photographs and one came out black. I have my sister's wedding to photograph in a month and I'm terrified it'll do it again :-(

This camera is great. The package arrived the day exactly as had been indicated and in perfect condition. I have a Nikon D 90, which is also an excellent camera and my wife and I worked with it. For some time I came noticing the description about this camera D 5100, until I decided to buy it because I need a second camera and after tasting it, I can only say that I made an excellent purchase. Although the camera comes with a lens 18-55, its quality taking pictures is unquestionable. For peoples who have no experience with SLR cameras should carefully read the manual for excellent results obtained with either of these cameras Nikon D, since these cameras have a variety of functions. Also I want to refer to Transcend memory cards, which are a very good team with this camera Thanks to Amazon for the great service that brings to us.

I've been wanting a DSLR but not wanting to spend a ton of money since I am by no means a great photographer. This seemed to be the best camera for the price and I'm very happy with the purchase. It is easy enough for me to understand and take good pictures with; my girlfriend is a photographer and also loves this camera. She takes it everywhere... and takes much better pictures than me!

This is my very first DSLR camera. I wanted to choose the Canon over Nikon, but the price of the Canon is too high for my price range. The Nikon D5100 was pretty cheap and it was in my minimum price range. The Picture quality is nice depending on what lens you have. The low-light capability is really great as well. The video quality is nice as well, you can set it up to 24p for cinematic feeling. The AE changes when the area is too bright, but you can always lock the AE. There's no full control on the ISO, Aperture and Shutter Speed so the only thing you can change is the exposure so be aware of that. But hey, i'm satisfied on the D5100 and i'm really surprise of what this camera can do. If you're deciding to buy something for a lower price, you can get this for a cheaper price. The D3200 has a better video quality and you can control the ISO's and stuff, but the picture quality is not as good as the D5100. Its debatable, but you can always choose what DSLR you want. But i'm set to this camera.

This is a great bundle to start experimenting with a DSLR. The camera is very good (not professional but step up from base). Easy to use and many options to work with. Recommend getting a tripod and wireless remote for crispest pictures.

The pictures are so perfect i thought they were airbrushed!I am inching to do some landscapes, miniature, main color and other picture taking modes outside of automatic. I'm happy with my purchase.

This is my first SLR camera so I decided to purchase one that was user friendly yet possess the features for tinkering later on when my manual modes comes into play. Was not disappointed from the first shot. The camera itself feels good, built strong and does a fine job. However depending on your needs whether it be sports, portraits, or landscapes you will need to buy the relevant lens for the job as I'm now learning. The stock lens you will outgrow in no time. Still learning something new every time I use it. I personally love the colour selection mode the first time I discovered this feature. Good buy! Strongly recommended and if you're a Nikon fan like me you will not even consider another.

Love this camera. It's my first DSLR. It takes a bit to get used to since there a lot of controls and stuff you can do but you can get some awesome pictures. I'm still learning more about all the manual modes, but I've gotten better at my picture taking with this camera. It's helped me a lot. If you're more of a beginner photographer, this camera will be great for you. I don't think you need to spend $1,000 or more on a camera when this one is perfect enough.

I bought this camera but in 3 month the camera started having problems....and after nikon fixed it....i had to pay 30 dollars extra to fix it....it worked for 1 year then problems again....never buy expensive camera from amazon....they don sell it so the retail 17 st photo backed out and I am stuck with bad camera....I think they sold me messed up product and now they wont take it back and if it was some other shop they would of took responsibility for it....amazon is worst place to but expensive items....never shopping on amazon again

I have a Nikon D60 which is a very good camera. However, I was ready to move to the next step,and after lots of research and reading reviews here on Amazon, I chose the Nikon D5100. Already I see a big difference in my photos. Better clarity and richer colors. I haven't used the video feature yet, and probably won't. I'm a firm believer that if you want good video, use a video camera. The D5100 is light and fits nicely in my hands. I'd recommend this camera to anyone who wants a step up from the D3200. I realize that the D5200 is soon to come out, but I got a great deal on the price of the D5100. If you can find a good deal, I suggest you take it.

This is an absolutely brilliant camera. I have been using the Nikon d3000 and bought this for a company I worked with in Vietnam. Practically some of the issues I have found with my d3000 include a slow internal computer (so images take a while to process enough to be able to review them on the screen), slow autofocus and limited ISO range. All of these are far better in the d5100.You should be aware of a few things. 1.) When in video mode the aperture settings will say that they are changing but in actuality the aperture will stay the same. You need to go out of live view, change the aperture and then go back into live view. Once live view is on aperture does not change. 2.) Don't shoot with live view, bro. It is far slower than shooting through the viewfinder, the exposure that is shown on the screen isn't always accurate and when you hit the shutter it takes about a second before the camera will capture your image. Live view shouldn't sell this camera for you. 3.) Finally, the area around the memory card slot gets really overheated when you are shooting video for a long period of time. I haven't had any issues yet but I am worried about what that is doing to the camera and the card.I love this thing, and if I had the money I would buy myself one personally. Having said that, if I had the money I would buy a D4. I will recommend that if you are looking at buying this as your first dlsr camera and you have limited funds to buy a lower quality body and get extra lenses. I woud rather have my d3000 with my 50mm f/1.4 than this d5100 with only the stock lens.

The Nikon D5100 with AF-S VR DX 18-55 mm stock lens is my first DSLR. This camera is absolutely amazing for the price and the photos you can achieve with it. I also purchased the Polaroid Optics +1 +2 +4 +10 lens kit and I have taken some very good macro shots that I could never take with previous point and shoots or high end digital zoom cameras. I've only had for just a few days so I am not 100% familiar with all the functions yet. Most of my use has been in Landscape, Aperture priority and Shutter priority modes but I am already in love with this camera. The bokeh is amazing with this camera and even better with the Polaroid Optics kit.I highly recommend this camera to anyone that is considering purchasing their first DSLR. I have played around with Canon but I always went back to Nikon for some reason. Maybe it was the feel of the camera or the look or the weight, or a combination of all of this most likely. To me Canon's are like Macs and Nikon's are like PC's. I am more of a PC guy so I really like the functionality and versatility of Nikon. But then again everyone has different tastes. So I say explore and do your research before purchasing a camera but check out the Nikon D5100 before deciding. I tried over 20 different camera's. I wanted to spend a lot but the more I thought about it I figured I could achieve the same types of photographs with this camera than a really high end camera and I am very very satisfied with the results so far. Do NOT spend $24895720489520458 if you are NOT a professional photographer. Save your money, practice and master technique, purchase good lenses and you will achieve photographs you never dreamed of.

I have been a member of the Nikon family for over 30 years, initially with film cameras. My first digital was a d60 in 2008, then I moved to a d3100 in 2010. I was very pleased with that but wanted to move up to a higher level product at a reasonable price level. I read all the reviews (including ones for other manufacturers' cameras) but in the end it was clear to me: the d5100 had everything I wanted and needed for the level of photography that I'm at and where I am likely to remain (by choice). I don't earn my living with photography, but do consider myself an advanced hobbyist who really enjoys taking pictures of people, events and landscapes for my own amusement and my friends' amazement. The d5100 does all that and more for a great price.In particular, what I like about it includes the better (than the d3100) sensor, the additional shooting modes that really increase my capacity to create great pictures, the easy-to-use controls, the ability to use an infra-red remote (that should have been on the d3100), and the light weight. I use three lenses: the kit 18-55mm, the fixed f1.8 35mm, and the heavier 70-300mm zoom, which do a great job on sharpness and clarity of the images.Since I moved from a d3100 it did not take long to know how to use the d5100. For me, shooting in the P mode generally works the best, and I mostly use matrix metering and AF-A mode. The built-in flash is good but I prefer to use the very capable but (relatively) inexpensive SB-400 external flash unit. Auto ISO also works well for me, although I do play with it sometimes but find it's best not to go over 3200.While I am aware of the old and true saying that people take pictures, not cameras, I would add to that that having a wonderful camera with the features of the d5100 really helps this particular person take great pictures!I am very pleased with the d5100 which combines an excellent mix of reasonable cost, ease of use, and very high quality images.

We've had this camera for about six months and so far the quality of the photos has far exceeded our expectations. Our previous DSLR was a Pentax but Nikon seems to be the standard, especially for enthusiasts and local camera clubs. The learning curve wasn't too bad. We also purchased a Nikkor 55-200 Lens at the same time and the combo with this kit is a perfect starter setup. My son dug some old manual Kiron lenses I had laying around and bought a cheap adapter and he uses them to take artsy photos (they make lens adapters for Canon, Minolta, etc). You can't go wrong with this camera.

This was our 1st DLSR camera that we purchased and when we started learning how to use it my wife decided she wanted one for herself! We decided to go with the newer D5200 for our other camera and really have enjoyed both equally. We're still learning how to use the camera and they have been easy to operate and we've taken some awesome pictures so far.

The only bad thing about this cam is that the color is not as good as my old nikon d3100, maybe its just the settings, but other than that its amazing :)

I bought it for my son after trying to decide between Nikon or Canon and the newer Nikon which sported more mega pixels but as I later learned still didn't have some of the advanced features as this camera. I finally concluded that this Nikon was a bit faster than the Canon and would fit my son's photography style a little better for what he does. After a few months with the camera, he says he is still learning how to use it, but he loves it and is always showing a new feature on the camera he learned how to use.

This camera is awesome! Though still discovering everything it is capable of, so far have taken some amazing shots. The bundle which included two lenses is a great value and sets you up right out of the box to cover most photo opps.Will be looking for an additional lense to capture "on the field" moments when high school football starts.

I really like the D51000 camera body. I bought it mostly because of the built intervalometer since I enjoy taking time lapse photos resulting in short videos. I am disappointed with the 18-55 f/3.5-5.6 AF-S DX VR Nikkor Zoom Lens that was included as part of the camera package. This is an adequate lens for others entering the DSLR world. I've notice the resulting images are not sharp/crisp, are kind of muddy. If you are interested in taking snap shots of your kids, family, or pets to send to your friends and family, then is a the lens for you. But, if you subject matter and focus requires sharp images, then you will probably be disappointed. I plan on upgrading to a better quality Nikkor lens of $800 - $1000 or more.

Im just getting into the photography and I always hear the big names photographers talking about SLR Cameras so I decided that I had to get one for myself as well. Now i know why they talk so much about that camera. The quality is very clean (16MP) and the zoom on the lens is fantastic for beginners. I have been using it for just about 1 month and I have no regrets and loving it more and more each time I use it

This is a great camera for a novice photog and filmmaker. The ONE disadvantage is when filming YouTube videos you can hear the camera lens when it is trying to focus. It can sometimes take a while to autofocus. A fix to that is the mic I bought for it and just film editing! I won't write too much since there are a gazillion reviews on here!Check out FroKnowsPhoto on YouTube for a great in-depth review. I find his videos helpful!
