I didn't realize when I ordered this camera that it had no view finder. I take most of my pictures outdoors in bright sunshine. It is nearly impossible to see the image well enough to frame a good picture. I had another Nikon camera in the past that had a viewfinder and it was easier and more pleasant to use.

The LCD is almost impossible to see if you are in the sun and without an optical viewfinder is therefore pretty much useless for taking pictures of outdoor scenery. I sometimes take 200 pictures daily when on vacation and like to know what I'm getting. The picture quality is generally good and the macro setting seems to work quite well. I returned the camera for a refund due to the LCD issue.

My dad asked me to order this camera for my mom for Christmas, she absolutely loved it. You can take great pictureswith this camera and it has a lot of features like videoing and the 1080 HD resolution.I woul recomend this camera to anyone who doesn't want to break their wallet for a camera.

for the price it performs professionally.... to get it for $200 is an absolute steal. this camera is 300 dollars in my eyes. the fact that you can edit pictures on the camera itself after you take a picture is quite amazing

Perfect Camera, Takes great pictures and Video. Multiple quality settings. Types of Pictures settings are great. Comes with batteries and ready to go. The zoom is the best part of this. Best camera for the lowest price. You cant put a lens on it but it is still great. Its just a bit cheaper than the one at bestbuy. The memory cards are way cheaper online.

We chose this camera after reading the reviews and comparison-shopping on-line. We found all the features touted were true; images reflect the finder and, in the full-auto mode, are clear, sharp, and faithful to color, regardless of variations in lighting. Finder screen clarity and resolution is very high, zoom optics deliver across the full range, shake-stop works well. Movie mode is smooth and sound fidelity is excellent. Stop- motion cycles quickly. Liked the fact that the camera has memory for more pics in case card is forgotton or becomes full or inoperative. Camera works well with standard AA batteries - a plus in a pinch, for sure.On the diappointing side, we found the finder screen is hard to see when backlit by strong sun, and pic composition becomes problematic as a result. Lens cap is great, but we keep forgetting to remove it before turning on the camera and fumble our quick-pic opportunities once in a while. But we're loving it anyway!.

The colors and picture are amazing. Zoom for a small camera is excellent. The software to upload pics is fine, but the editing part I little to be desired. All and all for 200.00 you can't beat it!

As a very amateur photographer I am very satisfied with this automatic camera. My only previous experience had been 35mm film and the camera on my smartphone. I bought it especially for the 30x zoom. The HD movie function is just an added plus. For me, it takes very acceptable low light photos.

This is a wonderful camera. It is easy to use and a great product for the price. It is sad that the price has gone up $50.00 in the last week. I do not understand why when we are supposed to be having sales for the holiday. I am disappointed in Amazon for that reason.

The camera operates using (4) AA-batteries. The batteries are exhausted after several days, with a limited amount of use each day. Unless I am missing something, I will have to spend more money to buy a charger.

I recently took a trip to Scotland and Germany. I had never been to these places before so I wanted to make sure I had a camera that wasn't too fancy but that would take great pictures. I researched a lot of point and shoot and also cheaper model SLR cameras and this one seemed to have the best of both worlds. Now that I am back from this trip and have over 3000 images to go through, I can say that I am very happy with my decision. I was made the unofficial trip photographer because no one else's camera could quite keep up with mine. The menu is very straight forward and easy to use and the shutter time allows you to take pictures pretty rapidly without having to wait for the camera to save the image (unless you are using a setting that uses HDR).

although it had an initial set back on delivery,the camera is realy good in every way,i was amazed how user friendly it is and simple the operations are,its ideal for any situation and a plus plus to any family and home to capture your loved moments,i am also making pictures out side with nature and natural events and its perpect to me ..i think made the correct choice..thank you

I did a lot of research for a camera at this price point with zoom and it came down to this one and the Canon PowerShot SX500 IS. The older verse (Nikon Coolpix L810) had good reviews and specs; this newer version has a few more additional features. This is my first camera of this type to own and I bought it to capture; kids soccer/volleyball events, birthdays, etc. So far it has performed awesome, the Sports scene is great as it takes multiple shots and you can pick from the best one, like a frame by frame slow motion. For battery power,I highly recommend purchasing the eneloop XX 2500mAh Typical / 2400 mAh Minimum, High Capacity, 4 Pack AA Ni-MH Pre-Charged Rechargeable Batteries with 4 Position Charger and an additional 4 package eneloop XX 2500mAh Typical / 2400 mAh Minimum, High Capacity, 4 Pack AA Ni-MH Pre-Charged Rechargeable Batteries. In addition, my daughter is starting to get into photography and she has already figured out additional features that I did not know the camera had, very kid friendly camera.

The price dropped so I bought it for my wife. She likes it. It seems to be of good quality, and for the money it is a good camera. I still use my Minolta X-700. It takes photos as well. I don't get too excited about much of anything. No sense wasting energy at my age. Buy it, you'll like it.

This is a great camera, whether you like to use the easy and auto mode features, or if you enjoy changing settings and getting the most out of the camera. I especially love the selective color mode which will show exactly what you will get so you can adjust the color. I bought it for a wedding and the pictures are way beyond and above my expectations. I highly recommend this camera.

PROS: The 30x zoom is impressive & since it uses 4 AA batteries things become easier not having to worry abt batteries as much. Picture clarity is great & camera features are sufficient for every scene.CONS: There is no EVF (electronic view finder) so you rely on the lcd screen. There is no manual mode so people who want to customize focus, aperture etc shouldnt buy this. However there are several features to compensate for this.I'm loving this every moment of my use and it does take clear pictures to live upto the Nikon brand.

This camera is pretty easy to use. But I'm still learning. A little hard to hold still enough at high zoom (but that is to be expected). So far, so good. I'm a novice, so don't expect me to comment on any highly technical details.

The camera takes standard AA batteries making it very easy to keep spares on hand. We have taken almost 3000 pictures on the first two sets of Energizer Lithium batteries. Excellent picture quality and make sure you find the panorama feature that lets you take 180 or 360 degree pictures just by holding the shutter button. Again almost 3000 pictures and we haven't even used 16 GB of the 32 GB card.

I really like the zoom capacity, the clarity of the photos and the options on this camera. What I dont like is that it takes AA batteries and if you want rechargeables you have to buy them separate for $50. I did buy them b/c I love having this camera around and ready. It's not too heavy or too big. Because of the weight it is not for carrying around all the time like my pocket size point and shoot is. I got the camera in plum color and it's very pretty. It has tons of different scene options. Some work better than others but all are good. The close up option is amazing. You can photograph a text message and it reads clearly. I bought it last month before I could find any reviews on it. I am glad i took the risk.

I bought the L820 after doing a lot of research about the features, zoom, abilities. I missed out on the fact that there are NO manual options for exposure. Also, the AF seemed to have problems in portrait when zooming in. Pictures of my son, who was sitting rather still, would end up focused on the items around him, while he was slightly blurry. I returned the camera for the fact that I don't want to go on vacation, and get home just to find that a lot of the people were blurry.

Purchased this camera before taking a trip from Nashville, TN to Montana, Wyoming, South Dakota, and North Dakota for 10 days. Took over 1200 pics. Camera was great. Wonderful zoom and quick focus made for a lot of great pictures of the trip. Would recommend to others.

We bought it for photo, and video quality, good stabilization, excellent zoom, very good audio. We are nicely pleased by the overall performance of the camera based upon our criteria; it fulfills our most critical point and shoot objectives. If your objectives are similar you'll also likely be pleased.

I wanted a simple point and shoot with great zoom better than my smart phone for when I'm in the back at school functions, concerts and want a nice zoom length, and have the ability for great outdoor shots in the woods and this camera delivers. Love the size, fits great in my hands as well. I love the zoom being on the top as well as on the size, plus the 1080p hd video is awesome. Being able to take indoor photos without the flash really makes the color on this camera great as well instead of thing being washed out with too much flash. PS-Use Lithium or rechargeable batters. Don't even bother with alkaline. They last so much longer!Great job Nikon

Great size. Great option if you are looking for a long zoom point and shoot. I love the sport option. Takes a series of pictures within a few seconds. Has multiple picture settings and smart auto as well. Wish it had a view finder. It helps with extended zoom. Great camera over all. I'm very pleased! Love the color too.

- + Замечательный фотоаппарат для своего времени (2013-2016год) -цена, резкость, почти 17мегапикселей, баланс белого, видео full HD, если закончился заряд аккумуляторов можно заменить их четырьмя батарейками АА которые купить никогда не проблема. Но больше всего порадовал Zoom , это супер нечто , ненужно покупать никаких дополнительных объективов , всё в одном объективе - можно фотографировать и макросъёмку , и сделать на весь дисплей шикарную фотку Луны , часто комбинировал дополняя друг другом оптический и цифровой Zoom , в результате можно было сделать увеличение 70 - 120 крат . Яркий дисплей, удобная крышка для объектива.
- - За три с половиной года активного использования фотоаппарата , естественно его зума , сломался шлейф объектива , починить который так и не получилось в связи с отсутствием специалистов по ремонту.

- + Удобный и простой в использовании фотоаппарат. Хороший зум, качество фото.
- - Четыре батарейки, которых хватает на 70-100 смимков в зависимости от настроек. Купил сразу аккумуляторы GP, которые заряжались очень долго.
Мой первый фотоаппарат от которого был в восторге, зарекомендовал себя надёжным и крепким помощником - учился с ним фотоохоте на всяких животных. Дождь и мороз его не убивал ( ухаживал за фотоаппаратом и через три года был как новый ). Жалею что продал, но как вспомню батарейки и долгую зарядку сразу понимаю зачем это сделал )

- + -цена (особенно на данный момент)
остальные плюсы со ссылкой на цену необходимо рассматривать)
то есть - исходя из цены:
-прекрасное качество снимков
-цветопередача отличная
-макро супер, можно снять муху со всеми волосками на лапах)
-простое меню для не шибко пытливого ума
-удобный корпус
-умопомрачительный zoom
-пальчиковые батарейки (для меня это плюс, у меня есть аккумуляторные, но их же надо заряжать, а если некогда и негде - всегда есть магазин, в котором можно купить 4 пальчиковые батарейки)
-батареек хватает снимков на 400 (это конечно если снимать и не рассматривать/удалять получившееся)
-дисплей хорош - - -практически полное отсутствие ручных настроек, а именно диафрагма и выдержка... это печально
-фокус только в середине кадра, но можно приспособиться
-выпирающий экран, царапается
-перед включением надо снимать крышку объектива, иначе пишет ошибку, сама она не отваливается.
-нет паза для дополнительной вспышки
-нет видоискателя
Люблю фотографировать. Давно были мыльницы. Потом пришла пора телефонов с камерами. В последнее время делала много фотографий на свой самсунг 8мп, очень не плохо, но конечно там многое не реализуешь.

Сломался во время съемки. После 5 лет эксплуатации. Отдала в ремонт и получила такой вердикт: Провели диагностику Вашего фотоаппарата. В камере обнаружено окисление в батарейном отсеке от использованных батареек. Одно из креплений...

2. Есть стабилизатор изображения.
3. Есть различные режимы управления.
4. Неплохо снимает, особенно макро.
5. Неплохо снимает видео в HD.

- + 1. Режимов съемки вполне достаточно, цветопередача в большинстве случаев естественная. Обычно, искажения цвета происходят в яркий солнечный день, да и то, если снимать в автоматическом режиме.
2. Объектив на коротком фокусе почти не создает бочкообразности, (но зато растягивает кадр по краям, особенно в формате 16:9).
3. Включается быстро. Удобное меню: быстро запоминается и в нем легко ориентироваться.
4. Достаточно хороший стабилизатор изображения, мощный ЗУМ, хорошая вспышка.
5. Хорошая проработка деталей, о чем свидетельствует жесткий тест-фото Луны в полной фазе с достаточно четким изображением морей и крупных кратеров. Ни с одной из других мыльниц, с которыми приходилось работать, такого качества изображения Луны получить не удавалось.
6. Отличное качество изготовления, по крайней мере внешним осмотром изъянов изготовления обнаружить не удалось.
7. Ухватистый, кнопка включения-выключения притоплена, что исключает случайное ее нажатие. Удачная эргономика, аппарат приятно держать в руках, большой дисплей. - - 1. Заколебала крышка объектива. Никак не могу привыкнуть снимать ее перед включением аппарата. Держится она прекрасно с помощью пружинных зажимов, поэтому выдвигающийся при включении объектив сбросить ее не может и на дисплее появляется надпись "Ошибка объектива". После этого аппарат необходимо выключить и включить вновь, предварительно сняв крышку.
2. Очень быстрый, шумный и "дерганый" ЗУМ, сложно с первого раза поймать желаемый размер кадра.
3. В режиме видео кадр получается "рваным". Такое впечатление, что аппарат отрабатывает не обещанные 30 кадр/с, а 10-12.
4. Великоват по размерам, в карман не положить.
5. В правой руке лежит как влитой, чего нельзя сказать о левой. Не знаешь, за какую часть аппарата ухватиться. Из-за этого возникает ощущение неудобства при съемке.
6. Экран дисплея не защищен рамкой, поэтому желательно сразу же наклеить протекторную защиту.
7. Пальцами правой руки можно случайно закрыть оптический дальномер. Ладонью правой руки во время съемки велика вероятность случайного включения корректора экспозиции.
8. Спорное преимущество использования в качестве источника питания батарей АА. На плохих батареях количество отснятых кадров мало, а на хороших батареях можно разориться. Если использовать Ni-MH аккумуляторы, можно узнать много нового об этих источниках питания (и не всегда приятного), потратив предварительно не менее 1000 руб. на приобретение аккумуляторов и зарядника.
9. Аппарат разряжает батареи и аккумуляторы не полностью. Поэтому лучше покупать зарядник с функцией предварительного разряда (стоит немалых бабок), или изготовить разрядник самостоятельно. Иначе из-за действия "эффекта памяти" можно быстро привести аккумуляторы в негодность. Зато недоразряженные батарейки можно вполне использовать повторно в часах и беспроводных "мышках".
10. ЗУМ х 30 - больше рекламная фишка. При съемке с рук велика вероятность получения смазанного кадра.
11. Дороговат, по внутренним ощущениям- переплачено около 1, 5 тыс. (брал за 9600).
В целом, аппарат ладно скроен, крепко сшит, по потребительским качествам превосходит многие другие мыльницы. Если не заморачиваться качеством видео, а это все-же не основная функция фотоаппарата, для бытовых съемок подходит вполне.
