This filled the need of a simple camera with a fantastic zoom to replace my older film camera. I love being bale to take great indoor and outdoor shots while zooming in on the detail without getting in the way.Great fit and the camera functions are very easy to use. You can zoom from the top or the side and hook yourself up with some awesome 1080p video over the holidays. I like the ability to take pictures inside with out the flash to showcase normal lighting. Best money ever spent on a smaller digital camera.

Definitely not "top of the line" but a great little digital camera, none-the-less! It takes beautiful photos at a decent resolution so larger sized prints should be fairly good quality. It's pretty strait forward to use, I didn't even read the booklet and I've managed to figure out the features in one or two uses. Dropping the photos onto my computer was super easy too. Over all, for a hobbyist photographer on a budget, it's a pretty good camera.

I purchased this camera as a gift, and the recipient is totally thrilled with this Nikon Coolpix camera. The ease of use, and the huge selection of scene "types" are very beneficial to one who is not a camera professional, for instance, if you want to take a picture of Food, (for say, a recipe site, or program), there's a setting for that, along with the "normal" settings of Sports, Beach, portrait, etc, there are many more which help the novice take the best pictures they can, while not being overwhelming. The large viewfinder/preview screen allow one to see quite well what you're doing, as well as previewing your shots after you're taking them. The 30x Zoom is amazing, allowing close up pictures of wildlife from a decent distance, so as not to disturb the little creatures. All in all, probably the best camera purchase I have ever made, for the situation.

This is a great all around camera! It takes clear, sharp pictures with good color clarity. It's light weight but solid in the hands. I haven't tried the video yet but the pictures turned out great! It focused quickly too. The camera is easy to use and will be easier to carry on my trips than my larger heavier Nikon D7000 SLR. I love Nikon cameras. This is my 4th so far as I have upgraded through the years! I don't think anyone will go wrong with this camera, beginner or professional. The lens cover can be attached to the strap so no losing it. Some stated this as a problem but perhaps Nikon saw this and added the attachment for the lens cap. All in all a great camera for the price!

I needed a simple to use camera with a lot of zoom to take pictures and videos of a graduation ceremony. I also took the camera on vacation to Hawaii. The pictures are excellent and the video looks absolutely stunning.Cons: If you take pictures in low light conditions without the flash, or videos with a long zoom, the pictures/ videos are blurred. The stabilization in the super easy mode could be better.

Right now using it here in Serbia taking pictures of the many beautiful women. Such amazing close ups when you zoom in. Love it

I am enjoying photography so much that I tweeted about it. This camera indulges my passion so well. Great quality and well worth the price. Highly recommend Amazon and Nikon!

Finally a camera that doesn't "eat up" batteries! I love, love the zoom feature. The only thing I do like is the noise when it is "rewinding" something. The zoom and video are easy to use. Very glad I purchased.

I really don't know much about what I am doing when it comes to photography but this camera makes it super easy!! Very impressed thus far!

So far I am very happy with the product for the price paid. Good features and easy to use for the basics. Negatives are that with the 4 AA batteries it is somewhat heavy and at times the transition from optical zoom to digital zoom can be longer than the shot allows. Annoying message every time you turn it on telling you that the flash is not deployed.

I am really enjoying my Nikon. It was a good price and works really well. It is easy to use & lightweight & takes awesome quality pics.

I am in love with this camera! It take wonderful photos. I wanted something to take pictures other than using my smart phone and this is a great one! This takes great photos and not bad at taking videos either.

The resolution is amazing and it quite simple to use. The one improvement I would like to see is a rechargeable battery pack that could be changed out on the fly.

This is a great camera. Beware though, it is an imported camera/gray market. If you want to register it with Nikon, they won't allow it. Description states new but does not mention imported or gray market.

One disappointment is the way it was packed by Amazon. No packing material what so ever. The camera was just dropped into a box almost twice its size and mailed out. Lucky for me it does not seem to have damaged the camera. So far the camera seems to be working just fine. Since it was a Christmas gift for my wife, she has just started to really get into it, so time will tell.

This was a Christmas gift for my grand daughter and she is absolutely in love with it. We took her and our grandson on a cruise to the Bahamas for Christmas and I bet this camera got more use in one week than most get in a year. She just cannot seem to put it down. Best Christmas present ever she says. Thanks Amazon !!! :)

Excellent macro zoom. Easy to use, however, the battery compartment is hard to close. Other than that, it has excellent features.

I bought for African safari and it worked great. The camera is easy to use and takes great pictures. The zoom is awesome. I took several thousand pictures, some long range and some right out the window of a moving car. 99% came out better than I expected. I had a little trouble with the computer locking up; had to remove the batteries a couple times to restart the camera, but it came back each time. It might have been operator error. Also, the fire button started acting up toward the end. I think it might just be dust inside. The camera endured a lot of jarring around and dusty conditions of the 7 day safari. My camera came with a convenient carrying case and everything I needed except for the memory card.

I purchased the Nikon CoolPix L820 camera for my wife. I researched several cameras and manufactures before buying this item. My wife loves this camera. This camera is an excellent choice with more features than can be listed here. Anyone should be thrilled with this Nikon CoolPix L820. I highly recommend this item.

I bought this as a "purse cam" to capture shots when I don't have time to shot with my K-5. A a filmmaker, photographer and documentarian, having a point and shoot is PRICELESSS!! I'm also a photography tour guide and when someone does not have a camera I put this in their hands. The video in this is awesome, I love the 60p option. I got more than my moneys worth.

I bought this camera to have a lightweight camera for wide angle, telephoto and macro applications. I have a Canon DSLR and it is great for serious photography but heavy to carry around to have the flexibility of telephoto and normal pictures, and the cost of the wide angle lens is pretty high (>$400). This camera takes great pictures and has lots of presets, as well as some nice special effects such as slow motion video. And compared to my DSLR is a lot lighter to carry to achieve comparable results. Would recommend to anyone looking for a good all around camera at a very reasonable price.

bought this before a big trip, it took really beautiful pictures, the zoom was so awesome. My daughters fancy Canon camera with all the bells and whistles couldnt zoom in like the Nikon didnt take video, her camera was very picky about lighting.Nikon coolpix was quick, took great video, easy to use.

Nice camera, liked all the options. The camera arrived defective from the manufacturer. The scroll up/down button did not work, preventing flash settings from working as well as other menu items. I wish the manufacturer would of checked the camera before packaging it. It seems like product checking from China is non existent. Returning to Amazon for replacement. Thank-you Amazon for a hassle free return!
