Went to the Toledo Zoo last month to try out my new camera, this one, and noticed 5 other people with the exact same one. I think that says something!Very impressed for the price. I recall not too long ago a camera like this was well over a grand.Some real positives in my experience are...The full auto mode does take really great pictures in all kinds of lighting and zoom situations. It is truly effortless in this regard.The optical zoom is great (I dont use digital zoom). My Mom kept saying to my Dad "look at how close he is getting with the photos".And the image stableizers work great, even when zoomed all the way in.I am very happy with this purchase. I think many people think the cameras on phones are makinh stand alone cameras obsolete. This camera proves that is wrong! For self portraits to put on Facebook, use the phone. For anything that is an important memory, try one of these!Cheers,BSR

It was a last minute Christmas gift for my mom, and she absolutely loves it. I work at best buy and have sold this camera before, but always knew in the back of my head amazon has it cheaper. It's easy to use, has great zoom, fun features, the list goes on. I would recommend this camera to anyone who is looking for an uncomplicated camera that takes better pictures then an iPhone

This may not be the greatest camera available, but for an advanced amatuer it's nearly perfect. Both stills and video come out clear and crisp. It's a point-and-shoot when that's all you need yet has advanced settings and functions for when you feel more creative. The focal length allows for well-focused close shots as well as distant images. It's light and easy to hold. Downloading images to Picasa or another application is as easy as connecting a USB cable or inserting the memory card in your reader. It takes standard AA batteries.In summery, it's an easy to use camera that doesn't require an advanced degree in photography. But if you have one you'll likely enjoy using it, too.

I have used Nikon SLR's for years....I grew up on Nikons!I was excited to find a Nikon DSLR in this price range, I read all the reviews on how great this camera was and decided to buy it.But it did not live up to my satisfaction. Every single photo I took, that had any kind of movement with the subjectthe photos were blurry! I read and re-read the manual thinking it was something was set wrong on camera and it still did not takegood photos...I am a semi-professional and I know my cameras....I could not figure out why this camera ALWAYS tookblurry photos when the subject was moving....any kind of movement,,,the photos were blurry! I returned this and was very disappointed.

Easy to use and great quality. May not be full-featured enough for a pro or seasoned photographer, but exceeds the needs of most people. Perfect first camera for my wife!

Not understanding how anyone could give a negative review on this little gem. Lightweight and easy to use. I carry mine everywhere and it takes great pictures

Took the camera on a Christmas cruise. It was easy to use and the zoom lens was amazing! Agreed with other reviews that not being able to fit the lens cap back on the lens while extended, was a little annoying, but overall, enjoyed taking pictures with it. It's light weight, so very easy to handle and carry. Did have a little issue with the viewer screen going black when I turned the camera vertically. Not sure why this happened, but worked around it.

I bought this camera for my daughter who moved to Wyoming to work for the Summer. Her older pocket sized digital camera just didn't have adequate zoom. Wow, does this camera solve that problem.Working in Grand Teton National Park and regularly visiting Yellowstone, she has had many opportunities to photograph wildlife with this camera and it hasn't disappointed her (or me). The 30x zoom works great and there's no comparison to the small pocket sized cameras.Keep in mind that this is not a "pocket" camera. That great zoom lens requires a little more bulk, but if you want to take great pictures from a distance this camera fits the bill.

I chose it because it is 30x zoom and 16 MPI dislike the way they sold it to me, I though they will bring it with charger, memory card and batteries. I thought it was tricky for me to spend more money to make it complete, how can I use it without, memory card, rechargeable batteries and charger itself?

This camera works just fine. I'm not a pro so I might not notice it's shortcomings. Yes I recommend. Ya!

I bought this camera and it's very good. The Full HD 1080p pictures are very nice. The 30x zoom is amazing... I was able to zoom in extremely up close to branches of trees that were far away. Everything about the camera is easy to use, no problem whatsoever. There's also an HDMI cable to hook the camera up to your HDTV and see your pictures and videos on your HDTV. There's also a cord to hook the camera up to your computer and see your pictures and videos on your computer.This camera was definitely worth the $196 I paid for it. I recommend it to anyone.

This rated well on Consumer Reports and I was impressed with the zoom options, so I bought it without much other research. However, it did not take good pictures in real life. I am a hobbyist and understand indoor photography is tricky; however, the images were often blurry. Additionally, the flash was very harsh; the flash output cannot be adjusted (lowered) at all. It does not work for us because we often take pictures of kids. I am returning it for another camera.

I purchased this camera for a trip that I was taking a trip to Kathmandu, Nepal. I got a good chance to really learn how to use it. Great for the mid range and close ups. Has a great zoom!

This camera is easy to use and takes great still pictures. The zoom is really good, allowing to get great shots at a distance. My main issue with this camera, as others have stated, is taking shots with any bit if motion at all. They always turn our blurry, even with the least bit of movement. I have tried multiple settings, including the sports setting, and also tried changing ISO, but not much difference. I would not recommend this camera for general purpose, if you only plan to take scenery and still shots then it will be fine.

This camera does take very nice pictures. You have to play with the settings to see what setting takes the best for the type of picture you are taking. The book that comes with it does not explain all the different settings. I have had some problems trying to get really close ( micro ) pictures, it not wanting to focus in but when you get the right distance away you can get the shot. The strap that comes with it is to short around your neck, I took it back off. And 1 more thing where you hold it my thumb keeps hitting the bottons by accident. it is a little bit bigger then I wanted, I like to put my camera in my pocket and this one will not fit. Over all it is a nice camera. I had no problems in the shipping, it came right away.

This is the best digital camera I've ever purchased. Easy to use and takes really good pictures. Would recommend to anyone who wants great shots.

Love the ease of using this camera. Haven't studied all the features yet but it very much resembles a Dimage that I had previously that took excellent pictures and was so easy to use. Hope to get as many years out of this one as I did that one. Replaced it only because the batter door's latch busted and I had to wrap a rubber band around that part of the camera for it to work. Unfortunately, this camera also has a battery door on the bottom...something I'll have to watch and be more aware of.

I like everything except for the fact that the cover for the batteries and memory card feels flimsy. I am extremely afraid that this is going to break off and I have only been using the camera for about a month. I am extremely satisfied with the zoom and the quality of the pictures. Just not sure this camera is going to be very durable.

I was looking for a good, inexpensive camera to take on vacation, and I was not disappointed with this purchase. The zoom is amazing! I was able to get a shot of a beautiful full moon! For the first time it didn't show up as a little dot in my photos. Of course, non-zoom photos are also great and I have recommended this camera to a couple of family members looking for a dependable digital camera.

I highly recommend this camera to anyone that wants the high tech camera without the difficulty..I just finished an all fay get to know my new camera and it is AMAZING..high tech easy to learn and phenomenal photos and options..very very easy to learn and exactly what I was looking for..took a photo of the half phase moon and you can see all the surface Terrain....AMAZING.....LOVE LOVE LOVE IT..

Point and click at its best. Would have liked more instructions and the memory card only holds a few pics. Batteries are included but for test purposes only. So far, I'm really impressed with the quality of pics. Would have also liked a camera strap to have been included.

Needed new camera. Nicer than the one I had before. Needed more powerful batteries. Takes nice pictures. Would recommend this camera.

This camera is simple to use and takes fantastic pictures. My wife took a picture of a full moon and we were able to clearly see the craters on the moon's surface. I usually worry about battery life in cameras that use AA batteries. We installed the batteries that came with the camera and have taken close to one hundred pics over the last 3 weeks and are still at 80% battery life. If you are looking for a small camera to use when you just don't want to lug around a bunch of heavy camera equipment this is the one.

I have very steady hands and about 9 out of every 10 photos I took with this were blurry. I tried all different types of settings and nothing helped.When I did FINALLY get a photo that wasn't blurry it was always a phenomenal looking shot. However most photos did not turn out well.I returned mine for a refund.
