I bought this alongside Modern Warfare 2 for my PS3, thinking it would help out with the multiplayer. I usually play games with headphones on since I have a roommate, but as of November 2009, there is no way to get the PS3 to send audio out through a USB connection. Because this is an over-ear headphone, you have to have one ear covered with this, and the other ear open to listen to the TV, or, if you want to use headphones, you have to have this thing hanging around your neck with the mic in front of your mouth while you use another pair of headphones to listen to the game. This device could at least have a second cable or at least an attachment so that it can receive audio through both USB and headphone jack, but as it stands, this device is nearly useless for Playstation gamers.Very disappointed overall.

LISTEN YOU GUYS DO NOT! WANT TO BUY THIS....I BOUGHT THIS PIECE OF GARBAGE AND AFTER ABOUT A MONTH IT JUST STARTED TO CHIP IN AND OUT. THEN A WEEK OR TWO AFTER THAT IT JUST MAKES A VERY LOUD CRACKING NOISE. LIKE YOU CANT WEAR IT WITHOUT SUFFERING SOME KIND OF EAR INJURY UNLESS THE MIC IS MUTED. DO NOT BUY THIS I SERIOUSLY BEG YOU GUYS. SPEND YOUR MONEY ON SOMETHING ELSE. THEY SHOULD BANN THE DISTRIBUTION/SALE OF THIS ITEM!ITS TERRRRRIBLLE!

I hate this item simply because i mic wouldn't work so then i thought it might only work with the lifechat thing so i thought ill try it for a little while to see if i can figure it out, now i just found out that the whole mic is broken. I mean the headphone part is great but how did it break when i just bought it. So then i checked the return stuff and it didnt show up on my recently bought items so HOW THE FREAK CAN I RETURN IT!!!! id recomend this to friend but its broke SO MAYBE NOT!!! Can someone help me i paid $30 on this and its broke.

This headset has a fairly stiff foam over ear design, and a good quality microphone. The headset wire comes off the left ear piece, which means it crosses over when your computer is on the right. Sound quality is very good.Easy installation, does not require windows messenger to work, and works well with Left 4 Dead. The volume control is far enough down to sit in your lap and not pull the ear pieces.Overall, a excellent choice in headsets, the only "problem" is that when I have them on I cannot hear my wife and daughter calling.

Well, i was so excited when i got the package. inserted the installation disk and i was prompted that installation was blocked due to compatibilty issues. I am running windows 7 ultimate and a microsoft product is incompatible with it. NO SOLUTION AVAILABLE CURRENTLY. What do I do? I am so very upset. Beware of this product.

The headphones are comfortable for extended wear.. Mic swivels for left or right side use.. Mic picks me up fine, nice and clear but it does pick up some background noise if its loud enough (like a kid).. Luckily background noise DOESN'T activate the mic when on voice activation mode.. still, show some courtesy to other gamers and use push to talk.. Sound is great. Nice beefy bass that isn't overly loud.. noise doesn't bleed out from the headset while wearing it and listening at full volume, but your ears might hurt from it being too loud. :D In line remote is a bit bulky but its easy to find the mute button.. Volume buttons are quick to respond..Only downside to getting a headset like this is if you ever plan on getting a soundcard, you cant use a USB headset with one. No biggie for those looking for a USB headset in the first place, but I thought I'd mention it for the not yet enlightened.

I liked the clear sound quality due to USB digital connection. I had not experienced this quality with regular analog connections. The only thing is that the ear covers are little small (suitable for kids upto 12 years!) and tight for adult ears.

This was a purchase for my daughter to use for the Rosetta Stone Version 3: Spanish (Latin America) Level 1 with Audio Companion. I was surprised at the quality. My oldest son purchased one that is similar for more than double the money. I was hoping there would be complete outside noise reduction, but it's not. It does, however, muffle much of the background noise. Sound quality is good as well as the mic. Works really well with the Rosetta Stone language package. The padding is comfortable for her to wear for extended periods without discomfort.Update: It's been over a year now, 12/26/2010, and it still works great. What a great deal!

I lost my Logitech Clear Chat Pro USB, and needed a replacement. After comparing Amazon reviews on both, I decided to go with this, because it was also cheaper.Here are the problems I'm having:1. The headset arrived with only the right side working. Yes, I could have sent it back, but I needed a headset urgently, so I decided to keep it.2. I need noise cancellation on the mike for my work, but unfortunately, this wasn't as good as the Logitech.3. The headset wasn't as comfortable to wear as the Logitech.4. The mute button on the controls can get pressed accidentally, and the cable is a little too stiff to use conveniently with a laptop.The sound quality is pretty good though - I'm just sad to be hearing only the left tracks :(

I've been using my Microsoft LifeChat LX-3000 headphones for almost a year and I absolutely love them. They are very comfortable to wear and the flexible microphone prevents it from being damaged. I've determined that the flexible microphone is a must for long-term quality as other models with non-flexible mics will eventually break at the joint. The LX-3000 microphone is perfect. Before these I had other brands of headphones such as Logitech, which worked well but didn't hold up in the long run and broke at that joint. I primarily use my headphones for Skype phone calls and listening to music. The mic picks up whispering and the telephone sound quality on Skype with this headset is way better than making a call from my AT&T cell phone. The LX-3000 headphones are awesome and are at a very reasonable price for the quality they deliver.

The headset, is mainly designed to use with live messenger. Therefore, the added input commands like pick a phone call up will not work with other software, such as Skype and Google talk.The sound quality is pretty good, for both listening to music and for phone calls. However, the ear piece design does not allow for prolonged use as it gets uncomfortable.All in all, it is a nice headset to buy, but I recommend look around first if your not a Windows live messenger user

I did like the headset. Though it was more bulky it seemed more comfortable on the ears than other headsets. The mic quality received positive feedback from others on ventrilo. Unfortunately after 30 days the right side of the headset went out. It was the headset and not my computer as I also tried to use it on my other computer with the same results. Personally I recommend the logitech head sets. I bought one for my son who uses a head set as much as I do and he has never had an issue with his. Like an idiot I didnt think he head set would go out so I threw all the packaging and rma paper work out. Well live and learn I suppose.

I use the headset to play WoW and love it, the mute button is great so you do not have to mess with a 'push-to-talk' button in Vent (though forgetting you have the mute button off can lead to some embarassment.) It was extremely easy to set-up in both Windows XP and Vista and have had no compatibility problems with any programs (WoW, Quake, I-Tunes, Vent.) It's also very comfortable, I can play WoW for hours or listen to I-Tunes and never have the headset bother me.

Microsoft LifeChat LX-3000 Headset arrived today - got it out of all that packaging - put the disk in and downloaded all that gobble gook - followed the instructions and no sound from the mike - sound from earphones is garbled - And now I see the price has dropped to $4.48.How do I get this headset to work?

If you want a fairly inexpensive headset that connects to a USB port, then this is for you. Simple and easy to install disc. Quick set up and you can begin using it right away. Sound and mic quality are good. Heaset if fairly comfortable and not too heavy. Mic is adjustable, but always keep it close to your mouth.Cord is good length, but the lack of an adjustable volume control would have been nice. It has buttons, but they are not as accurate as a wheel control.Good buy, great value.

Very good headphones for Skype and similar programs. When music plays on your computer and you make a call it automatically mutes but you cannot listen to music with it.Very comfortable but only for short period of time because when I use it longer I feel pressure on my ears. I think it has been designed for chatting.

This headset has really high quality sound, it's mic is very high quality too, it sounds great and it's really good for gaming! it's also very comfortable and it blocks out sounds like your computer fan very well, so you don't have to blast your volume if someone is vacuuming or something. also, the mic is very high quality, even if you adjust it, people don't really hear it very much, they pretty much only hear when you talk.Works with:Windows 2000Windows XPWindows XP 64 bitWindows VistaWindows Vista 64 bitand it probably also works on every other Microsoft operating system available as well.

If you're going to use this headset about once a month, you won't notice anything wrong with it. But if you use it for any type of gaming, you'll notice after about two hours the headset feels tight and your ears start aching. Then you'll notice that with repeated use the sound quality becomes worse and worse, until anytime you try speaking into the mic you are greeted with distortion and static. The cord is really cheap, will continually get wrapped around itself, until it finally ruins the connection and your ability to use the mic at all. Don't buy these. You'll just end up replacing them.

Very good sound quality and comfort would be just fine, if it weren't for the gizmo that some idiot decided to put in the middle of the cable.That is the only thing that makes this headset unusable in practice. I've owned it for several months now and that damn thing has given me nothing but trouble. Either the mute button gets hit accidentally, or the gizmo gets caught in the chair arm, something on the desk, or it just floats about banging into things and getting in the way.There seems to be no real purpose to it other than to render a nice piece of hardware useless in a real environment. Whatever can have possessed the committee who decided to put it on there, I do not know. Perhaps they should go back to trying marketing camels as the "new horse"?Regretfully, this headset is not something I can recommend.

This is a very good headset. Sounds good, feels comfortable, and is priced nice as well. The USB cable is a bit short though and the need to install extra software is annying but it's a good unit anyway.

Alright, I might not have much to say about this but I do have to say that out of all the headsets I have used this one is the best. The sound quality from the headphone part is very good. Good volume control that can easily block outside noises, and can be worn in another way in case I want to listen to something else. Also the sound quality of anything I record is very good. It doesn't pick up any sounds other than ones made by me which is very good when recording for voice over, or singing. Also it doesn't hurt my head unlike some other head sets I've used in the past. So this one is worth the price. So I highly recommended it. However I never actually used it with lifechat though.

Everything with it is great, the sound is real nice, mic works good, nice and clear.No clip for the little volume control but I took the one of my ear piece that came with my cell phone and that works fine, other then that is a great headset very happy with it.
