This is a great value! Music sounds great! We use for PC gaming, and for a PS3... sound and voice quality are excellent. Everyone loves them!

I use it almost exclusively with a Cisco Softphone so that I can work from home through a vpn but still take calls on my regular extension. People don't even realize I'm at home.Plug and play. Super easy to setup. I explicitly wanted a headset that was usb based so I wouldn't have to unplug my speakers or anything like that. It nicely blocks out a lot of other noise and people can hear me well through the microphone. I'd definitely buy it again, especially for the price.

I bought two of these and the one I used worked just for for a few weeks and then one day it just, stopped. I couldn't get the mic working and then the headphones outed on me. The headset I got for my husband the left side never worked. I really did like the design and it was comfortable for me to wear. Don't know if I just had bad luck but I still liked the headset when it worked lol.

I won't make this real long. I tried multiple head phones, no cigar. This pair, well, let's just say they have a life long fan now. I can't recommend them enough.

Very GOOD USB headset, mic/sound quality is also pleasent. One good thing about microsoft headset is it cost low, and it comes with USB . I have no problem with it tell now.

I've purchased three LifeChat LX-3000's over the past few years. They're reasonably comfortable and have the quality in sound that you'd expect for the price. The only real downside is that after 3 to 6 months they almost always begin to cut out and the microphone begins to crackle and create static.My best guess is the wires break or wear down where they connect to the headset after repeated use and the headset just dies.But all-in-all the LifeChat LX-3000 is worth the cost. If you treat it well you'll have a decent headset for 6 months to a year and for $20 you really can't expect much more from it.

Its fairly comfortable for extended use, and they sound pretty good. One thing that disappoints is base response. Its clean and enough, but not enough when you really want to crank it. Thats when you use real speakers. I recently got a cheap 5.1 which kicks the crap out of these headphones. Still these headphones are usb which is generally easier. Works with both mac and pc. The mic is ok, sound quality is good. I didn't notice any difference between these and normal headphones except the hum from my laptop sound card was gone. Like I said, I have stopped using them and got a 5.1.One thing of note: THEY"RE HUGE!!!Initial setup is annoying. They either need manual setup, or default themselves as mike and default output on windows.

I just purchased this headset yesterday because I was looking for a decently-priced gaming headset. While this headset markets itself largely toward the WLM users, it does claim to be useful for gaming as well. I figured that since it was made by Microsoft, there shouldn't be any compatibility issues when using with Windows.I was right about that. I installed the software first, as instructed, then plugged in the USB cable attached to the headphones. At first I thought I was having problems with the headphones conflicting with my Creative X-Fi soundcard, but I just needed to restart my Media Player and it worked fine (so there was no adjustment needed to my audio devices, even though Windows seems to identify the headphones almost like another sound card).The ear pads are very comfortable, which is good because the new headset does have quite a bit of pressure on the head. I do have to adjust them from time to time to keep a maximum comfort feel. Music sounded excellent--crystal clear sound reproduction. I listened to a piece that involved a large string orchestra and it sounded beautiful.Gaming was great. I really wanted a 5.1 surround sound headset, but they're either too expensive or not reliable enough at this point, so I decided to hold off. In gaming, it's fine. I hear footsteps to the left or right accurately and clearly, and voice chat in-game is quite clear (I was in the same room as someone else playing online with me and I was able to hear my voice communication).I don't use WLM, so I can't speak to its functionality at all.The in-line remote is fairly useless for any functions other than WLM. It does have an independent volume control (it doesn't affect the volume of your system--just of the headset), which is very useful. But the mute and call buttons don't function for anything other than their intended purposes.Overall this headset is very good for the price. It fits tightly around the head, which may be a bit uncomfortable at first, but I found that with some adjustment I was able to get a comfortable fit. If you're looking for a nice gaming headset and don't want to shell out over $100 for a high-end headset, this is a strong choice.

i just got this headset today and i have to say im very impressed, after using this for a few hours so far i love it great sound and people say the microphone is better than what ive been using, this is deffintly the best usb heaset i have used so far

I've gone through about a half a dozen headsets over as many years...this one is the best out of the "reasonable cost" headsets I've ever used. Just be sure you know it's USB before purchasing it, and if that is what your looking for your sure to be pretty satisfied with this headset. It has a few quirks for sure, but it's the best headset available in this price range that I've bought and used.

I am a college student who enjoys music and games on his laptop.Pros: Pretty Comfy fit, it dosen't wear on your. It was plug and play with my vista laptop, and my XP desktop. The Mute/Volume buttons are easy to get to and responsive. Mic seems to work good.Cons: Average Sound Quality. If you really enjoy games or music it is worth the money to get something alittle better quality. I have some 35$ headphones that blow these out of the water.Overall: These are not bad, especially if you are voice chatting on webcam. The sound quality is not terrible(Great for everyday use), but if you want a immersive music/game experience I suggest upgrading alittle, it is definately worth the extra money for the better expereince. These are not bad headphones, they are great in almost everyway but sound quality(I stress this is the only real negative).Side Notes: This product is USB(No analog 3.5mm jacks), and they have a button on it that has a picture of a telephone and a globe(I assume it is for Skype or something of that nature), so if you are using this for internet chat it might be the right product for you.

I was excited to get this product but after about a day or so of use I discovered the mic extension was broken. Not sure if it was shipped that way to me of if it broke after I tried on the headset . If you want to keep the microsoft lifechat lx-3000 headset, you'll probably have to handle it like a thin shelled egg or it will break as fast and easily as one. Giving it three starts only for sound quality but I would give it 0 to 1 start for it's flimsy construction.pros: good audio quality, comfortable to wearcons: flimsy built and therefore will not last.

i have a lot of professional studio quality condenser mics with pop filters and many other sound recording audio equipments.when it comes to skype and internet voice chatting.. i haven't thought i would recommend something as simple and cheap as this headset over professional studio quality audio mics.this thing shines in voice chatting. It comes with pre-built filter chipset that masks unwanted low frequency audio signals from both the mic and the headset which makes speech very audible and crisp without the need of fiddling around with professional hardware audio pre-amps & filters.unlike some logitech headsets i've tried before, no matter where you position your mouth in relation to the mic, this headset always seem to pick up your speech without any distortion.also, it doesn't need any software on my vista 64 bit..one more thing; this headset might not be what you're looking for if your target is listening to music. it's good, but i recommend Sony MDR-EX700LP or MDR-NC500D (but that's for another review).anyway., can't say enough good words about this microsoft headset.. highly recommended.

This headset sounds great, fits good and is not a pain to wear if you happen to be involved in a 5 hour WoW instance.Only reason I didn't rate it 5 *'s is because it doesn't seem to control the visual volume indicator that appears onscreen anytime the volume is changed. It does change the volume, but the indicator could show 1/100 when the real volume is actually at 100/100.

Are these headsets the best ever? No, but for about $30, they are the best I've seen.The earphones are snug, comfortable, and adjustable. I imagine that people with really large noggins will have difficulty with the distance between earphones, but it wasn't a concern for my average-sized cranium. The output sound quality is very good.The microphone is adjustable and seems to pick up my voice with decent clarity. There's no function to cancel out ambient noise, but it's not a problem for the typical household or business cubicle, as long as you don't have the TV blaring nearby and you're not expecting studio quality results.Installation is a snap (one would expect that with a Microsoft product on a Microsoft OS PC) and configuration is done through the normal audio controls for XP or Vista. It's fast and pretty much idiot-proof to sync with your PC.The only negative is that the line control located on the cord is a bit heavy and adds unnecessary weight to the wire. The cord isn't so long that someone would be walking around or sitting on the couch away from their PC, so I'm not even sure why this feature is there.Overall, $30 is a great deal for this USB headset.

After getting one of these headsets for free from the Live Search Club rewards, I ended up giving it to my mom because she uses Skype every night. I then decided to buy my own because it was such a comfortable microphone headset. The headphones do cancel out background noise, but not to the extent where someone next to you will talk and you won't hear them. The microphone picks up your voice very easily and quite clearly. I don't know why people are complaining about its performance on Vista, my mom uses my Vista laptop for her Skype talks every night, and there are no problems. The buttons work perfectly; the "mysterious" middle button is for use with MSN Messenger chat. This is a USB headset, so make sure you have a free USB port to use it. This headset is a great product, and I would recommend it to anyone who needs a microphone.

I have owned several sets of headsets to use to listen to music and talk via Skype and this set has been the best so far.The adjustable headset is comfortable (the best I have used so far)- however, like most headsets if you wear them for hours at a time like I do, you will be best to take them off for a few minutes every so often.I like how much you can adjust the microphone to find the best position. In addition to moving it up and down, you can bend it to make it closer or farther from your mouth. The noise cancelling works well and people say they can hear me perfectly.The audio in is very good for both Skype calls and casual listening to music.The main issue (and it's relatively minor) that keeps me from giving this product a 5 is that the control button that allows you to mute and adjust volume is too big. The size does make it easy to mute a conversation; however, because it is so big and because of its location on the cord, I have accidentally muted myself multiple times without realizing it.Overall, I would definitely recommend this product.

Microsoft Lifechat LX3000 has a USB plug in and will not work with the Microsoft Lifecam VX3000 if your speaker jack on your computer requires the green round plug in. The head phones are ok just to listen to your games. But if you want to use it with a webcam forget it. I have a newer computer with Vista so you would think it would work with the webcam

I bought this one on Oct 15. It is already broken( Dec 26). I can't hear anything from it. What a piece of junk. I would rate it negative star but the lowest they have is one star. I called Amazon.com and they told me that it was past return deadline so they would charge me shipping fee and restocking fee to return it even though it is broken. If I bought this from a store, I wouldn't imagine they charge me all these fees. Stay away from this one.

I did not know what to expect with this headset. I needed something to use with a Danish language program from Rosetta Stone. A good mic is critical because this program records your response and gives us an actual voice print that compares what you said to the native speaker in the program. The mic picks up my voice accurately and I always get a good voiceprint. The head phones are comfortable and east to keep on for a long period of time. These headphones were a great improvement over the ones that came with the program.

I bought this headset for use with Windows Speech Recognition in Vista. In fact, I'm dictating this review. The microphone is easily adjustable and gets very good sound quality. After going through the calibration wizard and training a new profile once, I got 95% accuracy. Now, after training it only three times, I get around 99% accuracy. The headphones sound great too. I'm also able to wear them for extended periods of time without them hurting my head. The inline control is very handy. Another great thing is that you can adjust the microphone so that it is on either side of your head.

This headset has very clear and crisp sound (must be the USB connection). The fit is a little tight but seems to loosen up over time. Considering i payed half what the major retailers want for a new one i can't complain.
