I have used several Logitech webcams over there years, so I was excited to receive the Logitech HD Pro Webcam C910. I have always owned webcams that sit on the desk (you know, those little orb ones from Logitech) so this is my first experience with one that sits atop my monitor.It does not have any clips or attachments to hold it there; it just sort of perches up there using the back hinge to "tighten/loosen" the grip. The actual width of the perch part is 1 & 1/4" from the front lip to the hinge at back. My desktop monitor is perfect for this, but I can see where some people with thinner-edged monitors (like laptops) would have a problem getting it to perch in a sturdy manner. On my monitor, it's a very steady platform.Unlike those older orb style webcams from Logitech, there is no privacy shade to pull down over the lens. However, it does tilt, so you can tilt it towards the ceiling while not in use to prevent someone from spying on you (I was shocked to read, recently, that this is a real issue!). Or just unplug it!Another first for me in a webcam--dual mics for stereo recording. They seem to do well masking out unwanted background noise while giving you crisp sound, or so I am told by the person I chat with. One sound issue I encountered during set up, worth mentioning, is that I had my USB headset plugged in at the time I installed the webcam, so the camera mic defaulted to my headset mic during setup. It was a simple fix to go into the webcam control preferences and set it back to the webcam mic, but at first I didn't know why I had almost inaudible sound. My fault, not the webcams.The picture quality is the really impressive thing about this Logitech webcam. It sports an auto-focusing Carl Zeiss lens, the same as my digital camera! It captures both foreground and background images in amazing clarity, with video up to 1080p (selectable: 360p, 480p, 720p, 1080p) and still images up to 10MP (selectable: 640x480, 1.2MP, 5MP, 10MP). Of course, that's local. When transmitting on a video call, you can get up to 720p, which is still pretty impressive. The C910 comes with Logitech Video Effects software for making filters, avatars, masks and fun effects etc. I have only used the webcam with MS Messenger, and it works perfectly.About the only negative thing I have to say about the C910 is that the USB cable is rather on the short side--just shy of 5 feet in length, which for most users will reach from the top of their monitor to a USB port or hub somewhere on their desk (I plug mine into a hub on my desk). If your PC tower (and only USB port) is on the floor beside your desk, it won't be long enough to reach. Even though this was not an issue for me, I am knocking off a star for a short cable.In conclusion, I'll just say that for such a small little camera, you get a big quality picture. This is definitely one of the best quality webcams out there.

I recently purchased the Logitech HD Pro Webcam C910 to replace my Pro 9000 webcam. I chose the C910 over the newer C920 because in reading the blogs of those who have purchased the C920,I realized that it still had many bugs that had not been worked out, where as the C910 , having been on the market longer was a smooth , fully functioning camera. Conversely, the C910, being the older model, had been reduced in price, making it an even more appealing buy.That, coupled with the Logitech warranty made this purchase a very easy one.The camera performed as advertised, and this has been one of my more pleasant experiences. I totally recommend this camera as it will give you a real video workout and allow you to get much more out of your computing .

Definitely recommend this to any vlogger's out there. This webcam has a great autofocus feature. The only flaws with this is that it is not 100% Mac compatible. It crashes on me sometimes, and doesn't record the whole video. Also, when I try to record straight to YouTube, sometimes it just stops recording as well. Overall, I would recommend this product to anyone that wants a good HD webcam with a great autofocus.

When I first hooked up my Logitech web cam the mic wasn't working. I was a little worried until I reset the input under preferences. Sound works great and I have been extremely happy with my web cam. I primarily use my web cam to keep in contact with my family via Skype.

Bought this for Skype use between us and our daughter away at school. Camera is very clear, much more clear and crisp than the built in webcam on our laptop. Movement is very fluid and lifelike, not as choppy as built-in webcam. In good lighting, picture quality even rivals that of our stand-alone HD camcorder. Sound quality is excellent as well. Frame rates dip occasionally, especially in low light, but overall, this camera does an excellent job at compensating. The automatic movement tracking is also very good. Even the bundled software isn't too shabby and is a blast to use. I love the hand scribbled character that talks and moves based upon tracked movements of your face.I am extremely satisfied with my purchase of this camera, especially at the sale price (thanks Amazon!). You will be hard pressed to find a better web cam for the money. And if you're relying on the craptastic built in webcams, please do yourself and your videoconferencing partner a favor and step up to this bad boy. You won't regret it. It is a little large however. I use it standing on the base, not clipped to the laptop lid.

And nothing works, it is not compatible with any of my laptops, always "device not recognized" it used to work just fine. It has never been handled badly it just stopped working, I have to wrestle with it to get it to work for only five minutes, jiggling it around in the USB port sometimes helps, uninstalling and reinstalling, its a huge hassle for five minutes of working time.I would not recommend this product to anyone, I thought spending big money on this would mean it works for more than 365 days.

Great camera for using with Skype. It has a good picture and sound. For the money it the best camera for Skype or any web use. Great camera and Skype is a great program too.

This camera DOES work with OSX. Yes, OSX Lion. I'll go one better than that. It works with Lion Server as well. It works with Skype, Photo Booth, Facetime, etc. There is Logitech software for the Mac, but A) I don't think you actually need it for anything, certainly not for drivers, and B) it doesn't seem to be very good software. But the quality of the image on this camera is great. I believe people who experience slow speeds using this camera at high resolutions are having issues with their computers being too slow, or with their internet connection not being able to handle the flow of data. And since I've spent 15 years in IT, that's a relatively well qualified opinion. In short: This camera rocks, and if you have a Mac Mini and didn't throw down the extra $1000 for an Apple display, this will work, you don't need a more expensive "Mac Only" camera.

After reading the reviews on amazon.com, I was ready for a quick install of the HD Pro Webcam C910 on my HP high-end quadcore computer featuring a Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit operating system. However, after nearly two weeks working with the Logitek Customer Care - America, the built-in microphone is still not working. Logitek and I have a lengthy thread of communications back and forth. I have gone through their numerous help docs regarding problems with no sound from the microphone even though most of their instructions include sample windows I'm supposed to be seeing in my Windows operating system but do not! The customer care rep asked me to try another computer and I loaded on my five year old Sony VAIO laptop the first time and was quickly able to make two sound files using the built-in microphone. The customer care rep ignored this result and decided it had to be the unit I purchased from amazon. Logitek sent me a replacement which I received a few days ago. Upon loading, I immediately had the same problem - my programs including Windows Live 2011 and Camtasia are not recognizing the microphone even though it is listed as enabled in the recording devices. I'm spent over six hours on following Logitek directions and have come to the conclusion that Logitek has a problem with the C910 on my operating system. They now want me to follow their same recommendations with the replacement webcam when it is obvious to me that I will get the same results as in the first six hours' efforts. I am ready to contact amazon.com to return for a refund before my return time runs out. It appears to be a great product (when it works). Unfortunately it does not look like I am going to find this out.

After reading all the reviews I decided to pick this camera up for streaming purposes. After configuring it for awhile i notice one big issue with its video quality. The video always has white static in the background constantly when shooting video. The overall video quality is good however the white noise that you see in the background makes the video just about unusable. I cannot record high quality video or stream high quality video because of this problem. I've also used it both on mac and windows and there are more controls and options for windows. The mac controls are not that bad but windows version does offer you more.Overall the camera is good and I now just use it for skype calls with family as I will have to find a new webcam that doesn't shoot terrible video so i can use it for recordings.

We have an Asus laptop computer and did our first Skype call on Wednesday to see our grand daughter. Their video, on our screen was perfect, but our video was blotchy and out of sync...somewhat awful. 1.3mp built in camera, two year old computer and technology. My son had just bought a Logitech HD Pro Webcam C910 from AMAZON so he could Skype with us. My wife and I talked it over for about two minutes after the call, and ordered our C910, hoping it would improve our video performance...it arrived today, Friday, two days shipping time, fifteen minutes set-up time (we're slow readers) and the camera was the magic ticket...the video looks like a "Blu Ray" movie and the sound is right on time instead of half a second out of sync. Unbelievable difference!GREAT CAMERA, GREAT PRICE! Thanks AMAZON.

I got fooled into thinking this would be an acceptable webcam for my MacBook Pro. I cannot get it to work on my machine. I've taken Logitech's advice to uninstall the software, install it again--three times--and all I get is software that crashes as soon as I load it. If you do some research, you'll also find that it has few of the functions, and lower resolution, on the Mac compared with the PC. I don't really care if it's Apple's or Logitech's problem. If Logitech is selling it as a cam that work on a Mac, it's their problem. This one's getting returned and I don't return stuff lightly. Repeat--don't take a chance on this if you have a Mac. I realize some people have somehow gotten it working, but life is too short to fool around with trying to make it work.

I bought this camera to use it with my macbook pro because the original camera broke and it was too expensive to fix it. There were some mixed reviews saying that it works and doesn't work with mac computers. I am happy with it I just plug it in, I didn't install the software package that comes with it. The quality of the images is even better than the original camera of my mac.

I ordered this camera, hoping it would work on the Ubuntu 11.04 box I had set up for group chat. This is to place one of our remote users in the room (yes, he has his own desk) even when travelling. I needed a camera that would focus on an entire room, and pick up audio clearly through the entire room. The entire point was to simulate his presence at his desk, so he didn't miss casual references and quick questions (to avoid surprises and time delays).The video worked perfectly out of the box. I didn't need special drivers, but I did have to initialize it by loading "Cheese Webcam Booth" from the Ubuntu Software Center . The room has very low lighting (programmer's den, and all that), but this camera picked up immediately on that and seemed to magically enhance the image. He can see the room better than any of us now!As for the audio - *MUCH* better than I expected. Casual conversations are easily understood (no matter where in the room they occur, including behind the camera). The noise reduction seems to work without additional Windows software, though active noise reduction is probably better.I'm very happy with this camera, and will likely purchase another for home. Excellent product as always, Logitech!

I just bought the Logitech HD Pro Wencam C910. It has a great picture! It is a great webcam! The only fault I can find in it is it could use a different base making it more adjustable or user friendly as to where to place it but making an adaptable base wasn't hard! AAA+++

I bought two of these for $60 each from Amazon, one for the wife and me, and one for my son who has a built-in Hi Def cam on his HP DV-7 multimedia laptop Core i7 we bought in August 2011.The C910 blows the built-in HiDef vid cam completely away in terms of video clarity, and in terms of audio clarity. I have a nice stereo system and when his voice comes in over the speakers, it is just like having him here. I was really surprised how accurate the sound was, and how much improvement there was from the supposedly Hi Def video of the laptop's built in camera.I use Win 7 on a custom built gaming PC with an AMD quad core processor and 4 GB of ram. The gaming PC was my son's computer, but since we shipped him off to college with his laptop, the super fast gaming computer is MINE now (BIG smile), The install was absolutely uneventful. The instructions are clear, you pop in the CD and everything loads on automatic pilot. It just didn't have any issues and installed and ran perfectly. The included software is intuitive and easy to use. We used Skype as well, and there are no issues.Why try to save a few bucks by buying the cheaper models? You never regret buying the best.

I read tons of reviews before buying, and the Logitech HD Pro C910 webcam is a winner. The webcam worked flawlessly out of the box on a Gateway desktop pc with Intel Core i3 processor, 8Gb ram, and Windows 7 OS.This was purchased for video chat in Skype plus creating green screen footage. The setup was fast and easy. The first Skype video chat session lasted over an hour and ran smoothly without any glitches.Next, I used the C910 to capture green screen video of me as a narrator to insert over still photo or video footage for online tutorials. The green screen HD footage quality is excellent which allows keying out the green with one click using video edit software.The result is a seamless transparent video of me doing an intro within a virtual classroom using a still photo background. In addition, when recording the C910 stereo sound is excellent allowing one take without edits for professional video and audio results.Note: The green screen is not in the software or hardware. I built a homemade 4' x 6' green screen backdrop.Summary: The Logitech HD Pro C910 webcam has exceeded my expectations with easy setup and flawless performance.

i used to like this company. i sent in tech support form and asked for online help and never got an answer. i have never been able to do anything in HD on this camera. i even took an online survey on them which i gave them ALL my personal info and not even an answer. i am considering asking amazon to take it back even though it is not their piece of garbage with NO SUPPORT. in fact i am going to post this to dozens of social networking sites next. DO NOT BUY !!!

I've used this camera multiple times for stop motion, and it is wonderful. The C910 is widely used for Youtube applications from what I understand, and as a stop motion producer I had hoped this camera would fulfill my needs, and by all means it has exceeded my expectations! The technology and quality is amazing. It produces sharp and crystal clear images when in use. The only problem I've had with it is a small lag in its auto focus. It sometimes doesn't want to cooperate, but it usually whips itself into shape in no time! I recommend it to anyone for any usage! If you can grab it for a reasonable price, nab it!

Such a difference a day makes! I plugged in this little beauty, set it on top of my monitor and waited for the installation to complete. One thing I like about Logitech is they do an install over the internet using the latest software. They know the hardware, the OS and anything else they need to know to set it up properly. My first view of the image was truly mind blowing. It really is an HD image. Now admittedly that's local and you can't expect your Skype correspondent to see the same quality. It is enough of an improvement that everyone with whom I've had a video conference was impressed by the quality of the picture and had to comment on it immediately. It has an amazing broad range of light tolerance providing a great picture even in low light conditions. You won't be sorry you spent a little more for this baby.
