I purchased this product several months ago to upgrade from my built-in camera on my laptop. I am running OS Snow Leopard on a MacBook Pro.I primarily use this product to tape auditions and videos. It was great in the beginning, but I've noticed a very big flaw - after about a minute, the camera tends to freeze or konk out. Sometimes you don't even know it's happening until after you've finished your video and go back to edit it. Restarting the Logitech software doesn't tend to help, either.The quality of the product is great - it delivers beautiful video and very balanced sound. But I can't use a camera that only (somewhat faithfully) records about a minute of video and then decides it's done. Perhaps on a PC it might run smoother - I have Bootcamp on my computer but have yet to test it on the PC side. But for a Mac, it's pretty spotty. I hope they create a better product, and soon.

I purchased this camera about a year ago in hopes of making HD (at least 720p, 30fps) captures of studio drumming performances for youtube with high-quality stereo audio.Problem #1, quality control: the first camera I purchased had a blurry spot (on the left) that could not be corrected with cleaning, focus or any other settings. I returned it and purchased a second identical unit and it does not have the blur problem.Problem #2, microphones: the integrated stereo microphones are not capable or recording high-decibel audio (e.g. amplified intrustments or drums) without distortion and over-compression. Forget about using the integrated mics for recording a band or drums.Problem #3, frame rates: at full HD (1080p), you can't capture anywhere near 30fps (this is a bandwidth limitation of USB 2.0, so I didn't really expect it to), but with the default settings, the best 720p capture is about 15-20fps (not good for fast motion capture). The solution requires using the Microsoft generic USB camera driver (instead of the Logitech driver) and 3rd party capture software to get 720p/30fps captures, depending on your conditions (e.g. lighting, motion) - what a hassle!Problem #4, capture software: The Logitech capture software does not record stereo audio from external sources (e.g. microphones, line-in), just mono. So if you can't use the internal stereo mics and you can't use external stereo mics/input, your stuck trying to get the camera to work (e.g. stereo, 720p, 30fps) with 3rd party capture software. Good luck! I've been fighting with various video authoring tools (WLMM, WMM, Adobe Premiere) and capturing programs (e.g. AMCap) for months with little in the way of acceptable results. Logitech, fix your software!For now, I'm using this camera to capture 640x480 (VGA) with strereo audio into WLMM (e.g. [...]). The picture, frame rate, and audio is good, but not the 720p that I was hoping for, so now I'm on the hunt for a better solution (Microsoft LifeCam?) and mainly just because of the Logitech software/driver limitations. Sad.

It works every time I need it without fail. It doesn't clash with anything else on my system. When given the opportunity to complain about my microphone people say they can hear me fine.As an added kick there are images that can be superimposed like hats and glasses. It never fails to bring levity to a meeting that nobody wants to be in.

Works ok ...bundled software is less than exciting. Creative software was more fun. There were some driver problems early on but after several clean installs it seems to be ok. Possibly something in the USB drivers for my HP laptop.

I had an old logitech webcam that seemed to work just fine. However once I upgraded, I wondered why I hadn't done it sooner. With the advancement in technology over the years, I have a larger, sharper monitor. And the HD webcam is a noticable improvement. It has a pretty discreet form factor. Folds up nicely if you need to pack it away. And is pretty sleek all the way around. The software comes with some fun little effects you can play around with. They are not terribly useful, but fun to mess around with. The sound quality was fine. But just the overall claririty of the camera was very impressive to me. It has a wide angle view and you can zoom in if needed. If you need a webcam, this one is definitely worth the money.

Purchased this product strickly for using with SKYPE so that we could communicate with our daughter in the US NAVY. Whenever she is inport the family gets together to talk. This cam's widescreen and audio pickup make it easy to get everyone in on the event.It arrived sooner than expected and was very easy to setup. You can literally just plug it into your computer and it will start working in just a few moments after the system recognises it and loads the drivers. I loaded the included software just for the extras. Picture quality is great and the audio pickup is excellent. Much better than the included webcam with my wife's new $1200.00 laptop. I have set it up on both a new Windows 7 system and an older Windows XP system, just to see if there was any diferebces. Both are 64 bit and I have had no troble with setup or operation on either of these two seperate setups, NONE! I am very happy with this product, it's quality and its ease of use. Now I have to get another so I can have one on both systems.

I purchased the Logitech 1080p c910 as a replacement for the less-than-pleasant webcam on my netbook. The Logitech c910 quite readily exceeded my expectations. Quality is excellent for both still photo and video. The autofocus feature is wonderful, and has the nice benefit of adding a little bit of depth-of-field effects when you're up close (basically, your face is focused and sharp while the background is a little blurry). The added software works well, although I prefer to use Picasa. The camera is quite a steal for $70.The only thing to be mindful of is your computer's capabilities. If you have a netbook like I do, you will be unable to effectively use the higher resolutions for video because your computer will most likely simply not have enough power to handle the high volume of data required. On a netbook, Skype should be okay at middle resolutions, say about 800x600 or so, but any higher and you're liable to encounter a fair amount of stuttering. Recording high-resolution with the c910 on a netbook is fairly discouraging. I was unable to get anything close to smooth video any higher than 640x480 resolution or so, and even that had the occasional stutter. Again, the problem is not the camera, but the netbook. (for your reference, my netbook is a Lenovo s10-3t, which has an Intel Atom N455 1.6 GHz processor; it runs Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit, and has 2gb of ram)Because the webcam's image quality is so good, and because it has the ability to focus on things which are quite close to it, I have found an unexpected use for it: digitizing old photographs into the computer. While certainly a scanner is the best option, there are some photographs which do not scan well, such as those printed on textured photo paper. For these, I use the c910. Just set the photo on a flat surface, place some diffused lights at about a 45 degree angle on either side, place the c910 on a steady surface, and snap away!Overall, an excellent webcam, well worth the money.

I compared the C910 and the C615 using Skype with a friend, as well as comparing them in an iChat video window. I haven't recorded any video with them yet.C910 advantages: noticeably sharper, more detail than 610, has 5 mp sensor compared to 610's 2 mp; audio quality of mic is superior--slightly more fidelity, wider frequency range and it is stereo; renders richer color; sturdier, thicker plastic; thicker cable; wider angle for fitting more (people) in the screen.C615 advantages: picture is brighter than 910 (without software enhancements); it is much smaller and easier to carry; folds in a way that protects lens, unlike 910 which folds only partially; cable is 3 ft. with 3 ft. extension which makes it less cluttered unlike 910 which has 5 ft of thick cable attached; on 615 you appear closer (more zoomed-in) than with the 910 since the field of view is narrower; lens rotates; has tripod mount.The C910 fits on thicker monitors such as an iMac. There is more distance between the lens part and the securing lip. The 615 didn't fit on my late-2006 iMac, so I had to just rest it on the top with no lip to secure it. For some, a narrower fit will be more secure though.I like the C910 better because I value higher resolution and superior audio over the additional features of the 615. The C910 is clearly better built and more durable. The rotation feature of the 610 is not impressive, I can do the same manually with the 910 if I need to. I can adjust brightness with iGlasses software on my Mac as soon as I get Snow Leopard on there! Or, I can add lighting. Windows users have the Logitech software for adjustments and zoom. They are both about the same price as of this review.

This tiny (ca. 3x1") Webcam does pretty much what it's supposed to do...with one exception. Before I ordered it, I checked with Panasonic to see if it worked with my 50" plasma TV (Pana's "Internet-ready" TC-P50ST30) which has a USB Webcam- and media- port. Under a banner that read "Logitech Webcam C910" Pana's Website indeed listed the TC-P50ST30 as compatible. Not true; I plugged it in and the Pana would not recognize it (I had intended to use it with the Pana's built-in Skype feature). Further research suggests the C910's far more expensive brother, the "Logitech TV Cam for Skype, HD Video Calling on Compatible Skype-Enabled TVs" (model V-U0022; part # 960-000793) is probably compatible with the TC-P50ST30, but I'm not going to spend $126 (as of this writing) to find out. As it is, the C910 works perfectly well with any normal Windows XP installation (haven't tried it with later Windows or Mac). The autofocus feature works well (the stepping is slightly annoying). The automatic pan, tilt & zoom feature (to keep your face in frame) is startling, like a robot wizard behind a digital curtain is operating the controls.

Logitech has done it again, they have made a solid, sleek, and functional device, but what is new? The device is plug-in play, even a novice could set this camera up. I have tested it with Cisco WebEx, and Skype. I give this product a solid 10/10, for price and functionality.

I was a little hesitant about purchasing, due to the other reviews about it not working on Windows 7, 64 bit, but went ahead and purchased it! So, now I have no idea what these other people were doing to cause such problems! The beauty in this, was that I have not even opened up the install disc it came with, which may have been part of the problem.So here are my instructions on how to intall this with a Windows 7, 64 bit system (disclaimer: I am not an IT professional, just an average person): 1. Open box 2. Plug in camera and leave install disc in package 3. Follow instructions on screen 4. Get coffee (yes, it tells you to do that on the screen) 5. Check out new webcamThe key here is to NOT use the install disc, so basically, do not follow printed manufacturer instructions. Windows 7 x64 will automatically search and download the necessary drivers.The camera works well, and I've been doing some playing with the features, which are extensive. Sometimes, I have an issue with the auto focus, due to freeze, but this is most likely a bandwith streaming issue (this happens only when I am streaming), since I live in the boonies of nowhere. I have recorded, and the quality is great! (unfortunately, it DOES pick up my gray hairs and wrinkley hands!)Please, please do not let the other reviews that talk about problems with W7x64, deter you. This is a great webcam!

I had a Logitech 9000 webcam which worked just great. Unfortunately I lost it, and needed to replace it quickly. Could not find the same camera at my local store, and this c910 was discounted, so I gave it a shot - it is even higher resolution, and I was expecting it to work at least as well as the 9000.However, from the installation all the way to testing it, I wasted a couple of hours of my time for a product that was obviously never tested under XP 64 bit. I know that XP is on the way out, but it is still a far superior OS to Vista and 7; and many of us have to use 64 bit OS...The problems with camera are mostly to do with drivers: installation does not continue properly on re-start; camera starts fine, but any attempt to adjust it's settings freezes the software and it becomes almost impossible to end the process. I tried this a few times, and finally gave up.The product does not specify that it is NOT compatible with XP 64 bit, or that it is only compatible with 32 bit version of XP; it says that SP2 is needed, which is what I have on my computer.All in all, if you are using XP 64 bit, stay away from this junk.ps. A little search on Logitech forums showed that other XP 64 bit users have same issues, and that Logitech support has no solution.

I have been using the previous model Quickcam Pro 9000 for around a year, and I decided to pass that on to someone and buy this new model for myself.The quality of the picture, sound, and the Logitech software is simply excellent (I use Windows 7). The Camera definition/detail is simply stunning, even in low light. I love the performance.So, why only 4 stars you may think?Well, when i first saw the C910, I liked the fact that is was considerably more compact than the Pro 9000. I travel quite a lot, and liked the idea of slightly smaller cam. I was disappointed there is no carrying case to protect the cam when in my computer bag with my ac adaptor, phone-charger and other accessories.However, one drawback I have discovered is that the smaller size and slightly differences in shape of the "foot" means that the C910 is a little "wobbly" when perched on top of the screen of my laptop, whereas the Pro-9000 was absolutely solid. The "grip" system of the C910 is based on the same principle as that of the Pro9000, ie it is a friction grip, and not a "spring clip" or an actual clamp. I think if the foot was about a cm longer (still smaller than the Pro 9000) it might be more stable, or possibly the Pro9000 is more stable simply because it is heavier. This is not a problem on my desktop monitor, or if my laptop is on the desk, rather then actually on my lap. On my lap, or on a train, the cam can wobble a bit with any movement of the laptop.To summarise:PRO:-superb cam performance, both sound and picture- simple and robust software installation, no conflicts or problems found with Windows 7.- reasonably compact sizeCON:- does not sit stable on laptop display- no carrying case to protect it in my computer bag.However, I still highly recommend Logitech, and this model in particular. I like it.POSTSCRIPT: I have improved the stability of the cam on my laptop, I have taken a blob of blu-tak about 1/2 the size of a golf-ball and added it just above the hinge simply to increase the weight of the cam. It is now perfectly stable while i use the laptop and cam on my lap. I did not want to use the blutack to "stick" the cam to the laptop. I will figure out a more aesthetically pleasing solution for the long-term now I know a slight increase in weight will do what I want.UPDATE 9/2010: I replaced the blu-tak with a couple of balance weights (self adhesive) from a ceiling fan kit, and wheel-balancing kit - simply because they were what I had to hand. I have uploaded photos to the product page.I put 2x5gm weights just above the hinge-joint. Then later added a single 5gm weight at the very end of the arm. If I was doing it again from scratch, i would install a 5gm weight at the end of the arm - and check if it was enough. Then perhaps add a 5gm weight just above the hinge joint. My feeling is that the lower of the two weights contributes the most. I bought a strip of wheel balance weights off ebay-UK for about ?3.00 ($4.50), so the modification is not too onerous or expensive.
