in spite of logitech's low prices they have always provided great products. This webcam is very high quality and I tend to have the best broadcast quality among my friends when we have Skype conversations. The logitech software included provides an easy and quick way to take pictures/record videos (which was useful for me as a video blogger), and has a lot of options such as zoom, contrast, exposure, focus etc. at the highest resolution, your frame rate will suffer. don't expect to be able to shoot in 1080p at 30 fps. it's not happening. (some of this can be remedied by lowering the exposure and making up for it with good lighting.), but 360p looks fine and provides a decent frame rate. if you don't have good lighting, the camera is very good at making up for it (at the expense of your framerate). The sound quality is also surprisingly good, better than microphones on expensive cameras.Literally the only thing I think this camera is missing is a "clip" of some sort. I have a weird shaped monitor, so you have to fandangle with the thing to get it to stay on top of it. It is pretty adjustable, so if you have a standard rectangular monitor (or something else to set the webcam on) you should be fine. This leads me to my next point, this thing has fallen off my monitor dozens of times. and it still works perfectly.all in all I'm happy with the purchase.

Let me explica, por favor, I tried a majillion different options (google hangout, twitch, ustream, skype, netmeeting, etc etc) for trying to share my screen with my friend while I played starcraft 2... all of these methods WORK, but there are 2 primary problems, #1 EITHER poor quality, #2 OR a delay ... if you share real time (skype/hangout/netmeeting) you end up with unuseably bad frame rate or video quality, choppiness, lag, etc... If you share with a delay, you can get great quality, but it's not as useful because your friend is seeing what you did 6 seconds ago. (twitch/youtube live/ ustream/ etc) I wanted something that was BOTH instant, AND good quality, with a low bandwidth..SO i got this webcam, and tried just webcam sharing with various products, and i was panicking, because the quality was terrible, or there was a delay, or lag, or various other problems! then i tried the actual software that comes with the camera (duh why didn't i think of that sooner) Vid HD, by logitech, and oh man! it shares real time, with great quality, and no delay! finally the perfect solution! bandwidth used can be as low as .5 Mbps (about the most you can get out of your avg dsl, though my cable connection gives me 7.0 Mbps, so using up .5 is a drop in the bucket!)it really works well. when I say the quality is good, of course, you have to realize that there is a sortof surreal quality to webcam-pointed-at-monitor, you wouldn't want to upload a vid made this way to youtube, or stream it to bunches of viewers... but for 1 person watching 1 other person play, and just wanting to know whats happening, not caring too much that the colors seem a little weird, and the image is just a bit cartoonier than it should be, this works great.oh... and it works great when used as a webcam too, but who does that?

I just bought this Logitech HD Pro Webcam c910 after doing research on it for months online and reading reviews all over the place! I was a little worried at first because a lot of people seemed to think that it worked very poorly with 64-bit systems (the systems most computers work on now). Some people said it would crash and that it just didn't work maximally. However, one person wrote that you should download the software on the logitech website rather than with the CD they send. So I did that, and have had very little problems.The camera design itself just looks great. It looks very intelligent. :) I love those neon looking blue lights on the side that glow when you are using it. It looks very modern and chic. It took me some time to get used to seeing myself in HD! And this camera picks up every blemish and wallpaper stain. lol. It's so clear! It took me days to get used to that. It works fine. At first, it would crash a little, I think it was because of the 64-bit system I have, but you can fix that by unplugging it's usb from the drive and replugging it in a couple of times. I did that twice and it doesn't crash at all anymore. (Lol. I don't think my computer could handle the heat of this thing!)I was, expecting a little more from the program it came with however. I don't think there is a way to take an instant picture. you have to wait the three seconds! And if you wanted to wait more than three seconds, I don't think there is an option for that. You'd think that with such an advanced webcam you'd get more features than that! The video quality is extraordinary though! The picture quality is the same way. I love it. Also,the framing they used for the software was grey. I thought that was a poor move! It takes time to get used to that, and doesn't make it look as professional if they had used black. lol but no biggie. The best part about the program it came with was that it gives you an option to choose what software you want to edit photos/video with. I love picasa and so I was glad I could use that to edit the photos. I used windows movie maker to edit videos.I love this thing. I use it along with my old webcam that came with my laptop. Some people were talking about the chord length that came with the webcam and how it is too short. I thought it was just fine. I think it can be easily adapted to work with a regular desktop computer. I'm not a technology expert, but this thing really is amazing. The best part is the picture quality. You'll be impressed. Benefits outweigh the negatives for sure. I'd give it a go! :) Hope this helps.

i am so furious with amazon ... i purchased this almost 3 weeks ago with prime although i could have gone down the street -- i live in seattle. but i'm use to using amazon. so i get it without any packaging and i plug it into a usb port -- i tried it on a macbook pro, a macbook laptop, an imac, and a windows box since i try to make a living with software, and have spent over 30 years in the biz, but i had no idea what i was suppose to do, and i thought amazon was really responsive after i made the guy realize it wasn't sufficient to get a piece of hardware without at least a warranty and i wasn't going to be happy about that however much he found that reasonable. so he agreed that he would refund this order and have it replaced, and that i wouldn't have to wait until they received the stupidly packaged one and he said yes, and i said great. i guess i am glad i used amazon, and now 3 weeks later, i still haven't received it and all my work is predicated on having that web-cam and i am so furious with amazone i've decided i should just drive again and stop buying my heavy items through amazon so i could minimize my footprint. because thanks to amazon i can't get any work done. go figure.

After about a year of owning the webcam here is what I can say about it:Pros-Picture quality is crystal clear regardless of whether you use it in a 16:9 (wide) or 4:3 aspect ratio. The 4:3 aspect ratio offers a higher quality image with greater pixel density (10MP I believe) but I haven't seen much of a difference between it and 1080p.-The lens focus works extremely well for a webcam-It is very good at detecting your lighting settings and adjusting accordingly (the focus and light correction features make it an amazing webcam even in SD)-Mounts on to any monitor easily and quickly-Audio quality is very good for what it is and the mic can be used for gaming as well-The software is pretty straight forward and has a good variety of features-It's quite sturdy even though it's mostly made out of plastic. It's gotten banged a few times and has survived with no issues whatsoever.-I have heard better things said of the C910 than of the new C920Cons-In my opinion it's not worth $90+ (I got it for $50 on sale. At that price it's very well worth it.)-The blue LEDs can be a bit bright at times, although 99% of the time they don't bother me (note that the LEDs are only on when you're actually using the webcam)-I could list more cons, but like the one above I would just be being very nitpickyOverall it's a great upgrade over any cheap webcam or any webcam on a monitor.

I'm a big fan of Logitech. Of course, as with most things, you get what you pay for. And this top end camera from Logitech is no exception. I have both an old QuickCam Pro and a 9000, and they are both STILL going strong after years of use, but wanted something higher quality.The video is not only high def, but the exposure is all lighting situations is spectacular. It finds focus quickly, and adjusts exposure just as fast. As soon as I turn off the lights in my room, it adjusts without adding significant amounts of noise. Still pictures are quick and clean. The stereo mics are LOUD and cancel echo perfectly...even from several feet away. I can plainly make out words from people talking in the living room while recording from my computer room!The build quality is no less amazing. Most cameras are hard to get adjusted to both sit well on you monitor/desk, and pointing at you properly...much less stay that way over time. This is not a problem with this camera. It has a solid, heavy, folding base that can be shaped to sit well on top of a monitor or on your desk. And once put in place, it's easy to adjust for your seating position and will stay there perfectly. It also looks really nice and "expensive."Software does the job. You can zoom in without getting grainy, in case you're like me and the camera sits far away from your face. There is a face follow mode as well that will keep the scene tight on your face and zoom in and out and follow you around as you move. There is also a nice feature to put it in "security camera" mode, allowing it to trigger and record as it senses motion.I really only have two problems with this camera, subtracting a star from the rating.1. The software works, but is slow loading (I have 8 processing threads, 16gb ram, and SSDs, so it's definitely not the computer). Just opening the software takes several seconds, then getting into picture/video mode takes a few more. I wish there was a countdown for pix/videos.2. My old Logitech cameras had privacy shades, and this one does NOT. It will light up with a blue ring around it letting you know that it's recording, but I never trust that. I would much rather there be a physical shield over the lens so you could MAKE sure people won't accidentally see you. So instead I just point it to the wall when not in use.All in all, I definitely recommend as one of the best cams I've used to date.

I use this webcam very often and it has become very well integrated into the software ecosystem. Most services like Skype now offer the capability to chat with HD webcams and luckily this one is compatible with that service. I have also used this webcam for a few reviews on YouTube and with the appropriate amount of light images and video from this device look really good. On Top of this the item is at very reasonable price point and also comes with easy to use software that also has a bunch of functionality. Besides the great aspect of 1080p video quality this device also has a wonderful multi-step auto-focus system that seems to work very well. Although it can sometimes take a few seconds to refocus. Stereo microphone pickup is also very clear and accurate. One thing that I am slightly disappointed about is that on the mount for the webcam there are no threads that can be used to mount it to a tripod but other than that I have no real negatives. All in all I am happy with my purchase and I think that Logitech in general puts out good products.

I've been an Amazon customer since the mid 1990's and I've placed countless hundreds of orders through the site ... that's why I was shocked to receive this product today. The Webcam was clearly used and returned to Amazon, it did not include any of it's original packaging. The webcam was actually wrapped in bubble wrap and stuffed in tiny white blank box with a sticker on it that said "Logitech HD Pro Webcam C910 New".The product description above states that when you buy this you'll get the following:Webcam with 5-foot cableLogitech webcam software with Logitech Vid HD (for PC and Mac)User documentation2-year limited hardware warrantyI received only the webcam.The thing might work and it might be the greatest thing since sliced bread, but I'm not paying over $100 for something that has been clearly used and returned and then resold to me as new.For the first time ever I am extremely dissatisfied with Amazon.com

I bought this webcam thinking that technology must have improved since the 9000 pro which I bought 4+ years back. Big mistake.UPDATE - I now understand why I get "dark" images with this webcam. The wide angle lens of the c910 means that it picks up the bright floor lamps in its field of view and exposes them instead of the faces. Logitech needs to make its drivers/software more intelligent, so it ignores very bright and very dark spots (outliers) when making exposure adjustments. This is easy to do - software needs to be told to ignore the bottom 10 and the top 10 percent of pixels - and the results will be much much better..Cons -1) The software for this is nowhere as slick as the one that came with 9000 Pro.2) Exposure control does not work well - look at the video's posted right in the reviews - they are dark. I also get dark images. Same lighting condition, the 9000 pro gives bright images that look much much better over Skype. If I manually adjust, seems to work well, but then it won't work well when I adjusted for night and it is morning - so I have to keep fiddling with it!3) Colors are a bit washed out (Default settings)4) 9000 Pro microphone is better. This one is prone to overloading for some reason and "Rightsound" can make it sound like "Wrongsound". 9000 pro is very crisp and clear. I figured out the problem when my parents kept asking me to "repeat the last sentence" over Skype and the problem went away as soon as I switched to the 9000 pro mike. 9000 pro mike also works better from longer distances.5) Stand is just a god awful design. Topples and crashes cam to the floor easily. The 9000 pro cam isn't much better though.6) Forget about HD Skype unless you you are using a quad core computer.Pros -1) Lens is wider angle than 9000 pro2) Sensor has less noise in low light - so low light video chatting may look sharper (and you manually adjust exposure).3) White balance works better on the c910 as compared to 9000 Pro.It appears that the 9000 pro was developed in cooperation with Skype while the c910 was not. My advice - stick with the 9000 pro if you care less about hype and more about real life performance. I hurried and got myself a dented box "standby" 9000 pro (inexpensive) from the logitech web site in case my existing 9000 pro bites the dust. I am hoping that driver updates from Logitech will resolve my issues - till then, I'll continue with my old faithful - 9000 pro.

In my opinion it's not ready for prime time.Just bought and installed a c910 HD Pro Webcam. MN: V-U0017. I opted for full install.Every feature worked at first but then I rebooted and I couldn't adjust the pan-zoom. During installation I opted, when prompted, to update the driver and Vid HD.Via Logitech's website I discovered that there is an even later update. On Logitech's forum the stock reply to other's posts with any problem is "delete and reinstall." So, using Revo Uninstaller I uninstalled both the Logitech Webcam Software and the Logitech Vid HD and reinstalled lws230_full (version 2.30.1396) but I'm getting the same following results.I can't adjust the zoom control so as to pan and tilt. What happens is I click on Quick Capture and the camera image displays alongside the Controls window. However, when I press the (+) or (-) icon so as to adjust the zoom/pan the 4-way control is not highlighted. Also when I mouse over the Mic icon in Controls it shows a red slash. And, the camera's image keeps panning in and out every few seconds and then stops and starts panning in and out again.I am able to make a test video with sound but no panning or zooming. This is a hard one to write because the features of the cam are outstanding, but several of them are unable to be used on a Mac. This was very commonplace in the 80's and 90's, but by 2012 I thought we had admitted that coding for Intel-Macs was a routine task. Hooking it up to my work laptop (Win7) I was stunned at the features and operation. While not as nice of an interface as on my Macs, the functionality was verified and Windows users should have few complaints with this cam (given the price point). For a Mac, downloading iGlasses (or EvoCam or EvoLV) unlocks some more of the potential, making it more usable and worth the expense. Stating that it's Mac-compatible shouldn't just mean that it is recognized by the system, especially when the feature-set is advertised as lavishly as this one. Plug-n-Play on the Intel-Macs (10.7.4, 10.6.8 and 10.5.8) was straight forward (even without 3rd parties involved) and worked fine with iMovie, Skype and FaceTime out of the box. The exposure was not impressive at all, but iGlasses helped me compensate. The lights that come on during use (blue LEDs on either side of the lens) are subtle enough to not be distracting. The built-in mic is acceptable and I expect nothing more for this price. The 5' USB cable is a little short for my optimum use (another foot would have been great), but it does come with a built-in velcro strap to take up slack if you need to. All in all, a good value. If I was using it on my Win machine, 5 stars but for the reason I bought it... 4 stars is as high as I will go.

I was a little skeptical about the quality of this 'small' camera for business use. I was pleasantly surprised not only by the video but by the audio. I had no use for the Polycom speakerphone I purchased at the same time and sent it back.For all the negativity that gets slung around at condo association meetings, there hasn't been any negative feedback on the video/audio quality of this little device. So it must be five star worthy!I would prefer the camera come with a clip. However the counterweight on this setup appears well engineered and I have been able to work with it.

I bought this camera after reading many reviews and so my wife could speak with her parents who are overseas. Immediately her parents commented on the excellent image and picture quality this camera gives, we even got another one for them afterwards. When we are speaking with them now I can recognize how this camera improves the image and while speaking with people who have lower end or integrated webcams you can easily see the difference, important also to say that you can use widescreen :)I got the camera for 60 USD in the past, so consider this prices influences my review greatly, also I recommend getting a new model if possible. The HD quality while doing video conference does need a fast internet connection, otherwise the client diminish the picture quality of the camera.Thumbs UP!

I originally purchased this cam because it got a good review for being Mac compatible.When I received it, it worked with its own LWS software only - it was not usable with Photo Booth or any other native Mac software.The drivers have been cut off at OSX 10.6, and Logitech shows no sign of updating them. The performance is spotty at best, and now even the LWS software doesn't run well. Logitech will not comment on this issue publicly. The download area on the product page states-via-omission that nothing newer than 10.6 is supported.If you came to this product because you read a good review for Mac compatibility, that review is out-dated.

CORD SHORTS OUT IN 3 OUT OF 4 Cameras. As of this writing, I have completely wasted my hard-earned money because the cord and USB has shorts causing the cameras to be trashable !!!I would give it a one star, except the video was crystal clear when it was working.Having to allow for several angle demonstrations, I've been a repeat orderer of the Logitech C910 and other Logitech products.Each camera on its own pc has conflicted with other Logitech software. On one pc the stupid Logitech controller wants to show up on its own, without me asking for it.Microphone feature is messed up on 3 out of 4 of these cameras I bought.CORD SHORTS OUT IN 3 OUT OF 4 Cameras. As of this writing, I have completely wasted my hard-earned money because the cord and USB has shorts causing the cameras to be trashable !!! When the cord messes up, the video lags and freezes!!The design for making it sit on laptop or monitor is not very good either. Just really wasted alot of money !!!!

The wonderful thing about Mini's is that they are Mac OS without the dazzle and sizzle of an iMac.The only drawbacks are that they don't have a camera or an optical drive.Want to Skype? Buy this thing. Most models don't work very well, or don't work at all, with Mac OS. This one does. Yes, it is more expensive than devices that may work (or not) with Windows, but you bought a Mac because it works, despite its cost, and so does this.Logitech makes good products. Read the suitability descriptions and you won't go wrong. I've probably a dozen mice, keyboards, and cameras, and every one has met my hopes that it would work perfectly.Now, if I could just convince them to bring back the number keypad-less keyboard, I'd be blissful.

(See also my later addition below.)I use this webcam in order to record the road from my car. I get 1920x1080 @ 24-30 fps (fps decreases at night to ca.15) with the following command:~/local/bin/ffmpeg -s 1920x1080 -f video4linux2 -vcodec mjpeg -i /dev/video1 -vcodec copy output.aviNote that1. You have to compile ffmpeg manually.2. You can not just upload the file output.avi to youtube, since it does not understand it (yes, such great programmers are working there!)3. I reencode the file output.avi using mencoder (which I also had to recompile myself) with x264-encoding. While the size of the original file is approx. 7.6 megabytes per second, after the reencoding the size decreases by a factor of 16 without noticable quality losses. The video is good -- believe me. For the recording I use my super-powerful netbook Asus EEE 901HA with Intel Atom N270 CPU, which is loaded by 12% during by the abovewritten ffmpeg command.Later addition (01/24/2012): Now I do not use ffmpeg any more, since I discovered that vlc is better (and there is no need to compile it manually).Note that zoom does not work at 1080p, so I have to record at 1792x1008:cvlc v4l2:///dev/video1:width=1792:height=1008:fps=25:chroma=MJPG:Focus, Auto=0:Focus \(absolute\)=124 --sout=file/ogg:video.mjpegNot all configuration options in the above command line work, so I have to execute another command after cvlc has started to work:v4l2ctrl -d /dev/video1 -l day.txtwhere the file day.txt contains the following lines:9963776: Brightness:609963777: Contrast:259963778: Saturation:329963788:White Balance Temperature, Auto:19963795: Gain:649963800: Power Line Frequency:29963802: White Balance Temperature:40009963803: Sharpness:729963804: Backlight Compensation:010094849: Exposure, Auto:310094850: Exposure (Absolute):16610094851: Exposure, Auto Priority:110094856: Pan (Absolute):010094857: Tilt (Absolute):010094858: Focus (absolute):12410094860: Focus, Auto:010094861: Zoom, Absolute:2As you may have noticed, I use manual Focus -- this is more convenient on the road.

I get compliments all the some on the effects that I can add, like John Lennon glasses or variety of hats. It has a follow face feature with makes sure my mug is nice and big for all to see. It consistently works, non of these accidental situation where the system doesn't know about the camera. The other thing that is really nice is that all applications know about the camera without me having to tell them.I'm desperately trying to think of something crummy to say and the best I can come up with is look to see if you like the image on the new one better.

Be warned: the quality is so good it can be jarring. Be ready for people to be able to REALLY see you. Put one in your conference room and your remote employees will be able to see the whole room. Went with this model because it's particularly good cross-platform Win and Mac. I just wish everyone had a webcam this good so I could see them as well as they can see me. Oh, and the sound is great too. Worthy upgrade over lesser models.

The C910 is one of the best consumer webcams money can buy right now. It's relatively cheap, and has excellent image quality. Its only noticeable design flaw is that it is not USB 3.0 Ready. Sure, it can be plugged into an available USB 3.0 port on your PC without problem, but doing so doesn't give you any extra speed improvements over USB 2.0, because it is not designed to be a USB 3.0 Ready Device. But don't worry though; It's still an excellent choice (for now) compared to the other webcam options available from both Logitech and other vendors.The Logitech software used to run the cam could really use some improvement though (hence minus one star), because when the cam is used with the default software, the feed produced flickers horribly, but when used with a better webcam-ready application (e.g. Skype, Camfrog, Trillian, Logitech Vid HD, etc.) the video is fine. This is only a minor annoyance. The C910 especially works well with ManyCam (freely downloadable from: [...] to enable multiple instances of the feed produced by the webcam, and it even supports cool video effects when used with that application. Other things that should be noted is that the webcam DOES notify you when it's on and actively filming by two dimly lit blue lights on either side of the sheet of glass covering the lens; the mics on this cam are in stereo, and provide both a left and right channel for audio; and the back of the webcam that holds the cam onto the monitor is made of a certain type of no-slip, well-gripping rubber, which is very good. All software issues aside, this is really a great choice for a HD webcam (at least until, Logitech releases a USB 3.0 version, which of course would be even better). However, I'm still very satisfied with purchasing the C910 because of its excellent image quality (1080p to be exact/ 720 while Skyping) and dual stereo mics, and I would definitely recommend this webcam to friends and other people!

I went from the logitech 9000 to the C910 and wow what a vast improvement. The colors are great the quality of the video is beautiful. I even have the c920 now and although I like the color of the c920 better I think the clarity of this is much better. It also is better because the c920 is a widescreen web camera which causes everything to appear closer and you have to be further back in order to fit everything in the shot. I think my preference is the c10 I use mine very frequently (daily in fact) and somehow I have managed to move it so much that I think the wires connecting to the device have started to come apart because at times there are complaints that my sound goes out. I purchased a second one and after 3 months it is happening again. However after playing a bit with the wire it fixes the problem. This is however after a few months of daily wear. I would like to think that paying so much money that this item would last longer then three months (considering it has never fallen or been dropped) there has nothing that has happened to explain the connection issues with BOTH of these that I have purchased. Overall though? I think this is the best web camera currently available.

I enjoy Logitech equipment. I have a collection of things from them such has mouses, speakers, etc.The cam works fine. Image is good. Not great but it works perfectly fine for what I need it for.Only thing that annoys me a little is if you have the camera on automatic zoom, it has a tendency to over due the zooming in and out.Otherwise no complaints.

We're using this in our office for video conference calls on Skype. Works great. My only complaint is that I wish it had a USB port instead of a hard-wired USB cable, because it needed a much longer cable than it comes with. But I used a USB extension cable and it works fine. I've found Logitech products to be pretty universally solid products, and this one is no exception.

After reading the great reviews, I ordered this camera. It looks great.I installed the Logitech Webcam Software v 2.1 and it started and shows a fantastic picture. Then it crashed when I selected Video mode.So, I downloaded and installed the 'updated' software.Now the software will not even start.
