Well everything said here about the Lexmark Pro 205 is true for my printer and then some. I should preface that I did not get an incredible Amazon.com deal you guys did (which makes me feel every so much better about this printer). I bought mine at our local Office Max for over 100 bucks (cannot find receipt for exact amount) and that mine came with a 5 year warranty which I now know is simply a sales gimmick because who the heck wants another one of these monster size ink gobblers that jams incessantly. After realizing I got taken I come here to read reviews I should have read initially but didn't. I trusted my salesperson..Yes I know how stupid that sounds. I'm adding my two cents because of the odd little spin my machine takes on the ink guzzeling situation. After replacing my black ink the last two or three times I began to notice that it started notifying me that my black ink was low even after I'd just replaced it,(about 10-20 pages) and that annoying little message kept on making me over-ride by pressing "OK" each and every time I printed right up until it no longer just notified me but refused to print, essentially FORCING ME TO REPLACE IT. It says "YOUR PRINTER WILL NO LONGER WORK UNTIL YOU REPLACE INK CARTRIDGE" How's that for a subtle hand in your pocket. Now here's the thing--it's not actually OUT OF INK. That's right--It's printing just fine...no skips-dot dot dots, fading or half prints. My son took a look at the cartridge and ..yes indeed there's ink in there. Who knows how many cartridges I replaced unnecessarily. I betcha Lexmark has some stats on the average replacement this causes. Turns out they don't actually sell printers copiers after all, not judging from the way this contraption works. They are actually in the INK CARTRIDGE business. I'm taking a friends advice; setting this printer out for the garbage, thereby cutting my losses and buying a KODAK printer. After you get finished giggling you may make note that my friend says forgetting the name and false ads for other brands, as the new kid on the block, Kodak has addressed every complaint written here and their printers don't jam, don't guzzel ink and actually WORK.

I purchased the Pro901 because it had an Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) for scanning and Wi-Fi. The ADF is unreliable and does not work consistently. Sometimes it will scan one sheet and stop, other times it will scan all of the loaded sheets (like it is designed to do). I have followed all of the recommendations for resolving this issue, but none work. Additionally, the scanning feature is inconsistent. Sometimes you can scan directly to the computer, other times you cannot not. Resetting the printer does not resolve the issue. So, I have been forced to scan to a flash drive. The flash drive is annoying because it shows up as a drive on your computer as soon as you connect it to the front of the printer. This creates a conflict between the computer and printer; they both want to use the drive, but only one can at a time. So, I have to eject the drive from the computer and then wait for the printer to "see" that the drive is not in use. Yes, you can hear the time ticking away on this one. Also, with a flash drive plugged in, the printer will not enter sleep mode. Lame.The Wi-Fi feature has a glitch. You can only print using Wi-Fi if the computer that you are printing from is connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Since my office computer is hard wired to the Fios modem, I cannot print using Wi-Fi. This should be disclosed in the product description.Lexmark has replaced my printer once due to the touch screen not working, and I am awaiting a second replacement to resolve the same issue. I will not buy another Lexmark, nor would I recommend it to anyone. Look elsewhere for an all-in-one, you will save yourself a lot of wasted time and headaches.I'm using a 21" iMac, running Lion.

on my 3rd printer and they all sucked!!!! Anything to do with the ink is the problem. They are a great printer for about a month until you have to start changing cartridges. The ink carriages never works correctly. I have sent back 2 of the 3 ink carriages (I would send back the 3rd but i am buying a different manufacturer), the cartridges are hit and miss and the colors ones usually don't work correctly, the HD black certainly doesn't put out 1/2 the number of sheets that they claim.Its an easy product of set up and use but after that a total waste of money

Very please with this printer. Does everything I want it to do. I like the double sided copy and quailty.

Paper Jam mechanical problem most of time I owned.3. Larger than most of All-in-one printer.4. Wifi loose the configuration and must re-configure the Wifi setting periodically.

This printer has lots of problems. I had to replace the print head after just one year and it is nowimpossible to order ink from the Lexmark website. I have spent days of frustration with this printer and with Lexmark. Their customer service department is awful. This printer should be recalled by Lexmark.

Piece of junk didn't last a year of light use, virtually all of it as an outgoing fax machine. Print head died!** Contacted Lexmark and they quickly sent me a new printhead. Works fine now, however, the main reason I bought this printer was for its wireless printing. In two years, not once have I been able to get it find, much less connect, to my wireless network (Airport Extreme.) Good luck.

Product used for work to fix our lexmark, having changed it twice already...I'd never buy another lexmark again. I believe there's got to be a better item out there.

Fast, efficient printer. Easy setup. Good print quality even on DRAFT mode. It is a large printer - not one to set on your desktop, but if you have the space, it is a great value for a small business printer.

I bought this printer because it has the ability to scan. And I did scan about 40 pictures. But then couldn't figure out how to send the scanned images to my computer. Not a simple task. Was able to send the scanned images to a flash drive and then downloaded to my computer. That was frustrating. But not nearly as frustrating as when I tried to print a document after the scans. Loaded the document into the computer and pressed 'print' and got a message that printer couldn't print. I rebooted the computer. Turned the printer off then on. Rebooted the computer again. Unplugged everything and started over. Reloaded the software for the printer. And still cannot get the printer to just print a document sent from my computer. I'm a smart person and find these so-called intuitive electronic devices very frustrating. Am I supposed to buy a simple printer and also purchase a scanner? Two separate devices because the one device can't distinguish between the two tasks?Another problem was that this printer is a WIFI, supposedly wireless. But I couldn't install that aspect either. CD doesn't help one bit. I called Geek Squad once but they charged $300 and that's about twice what I paid for the printer. Why can't the Lexmark engineers and manufacturers create a printer that is easy to install and use? How about taking a lesson from the Turbo tax folks???? They have taken the time to make their products genuinely user friendly. Lexmark, how about taking a lesson?Bottom line: would I buy this product again. No.

I bought this printer because it was a little cheaper than the other top models plus I was scammed into thinking the $5 black ink was the best thing since sliced bread. You get what you pay for. The ink quality is horrible both color and black. Also, I'm constantly having to clean the print head which wastes ink. The print head finally broke and after fighting this printer for 2 years I'm finally throwing in the towel. The one good thing is that the lid is a little heavier than most printers so you don't have to worry about it breaking especially if you do a lot of scanning. Do not buy this printer, do not pass go, do not collect $200. More like lose $200 dollars.

I had an older lexmark printer that finally broke after I don't know how many years. This lexmark pro 205 is great and would purchase this model again.

I got two years of great service. However, now the device does not want to cooperate with my PC. Still copies well and I'll keep trying to reconcile the situation.I've faxed infrequently too.

Quality of print is great, I love the ability to copy papers, and does prety good on photos.I don';t like the paper feeding. Many times it gets stuck on thick paper, or photo paper.because you have to use 8 1/2 X 11 inch paper or it won't feed right.

I bought this as my first wireless printer since I own a laptop and have to store my printer in a different room. It has been pretty good to me. I had to hook up with online support twice in the first year I owned the printer. It stopped printing. Online service accessed my computer and fixed the deleted printer file to make it print again. I believe this happened twice, but it hasn't happened in a long time.As far as the firmware goes, it needs a firmware update as the printer re-calibrates every time I turn on the printer. Every time. This takes almost 5 minutes, so printing hasn't been quick. I'm thinking about contacting online support over this issue the next time I have a few minutes. They are very helpful when they are open.As far as quality prints, copies and faxes, all are high quality. I don't normally print pictures, but once I figured out how to do that (it took a few tries), it printed beautifully!As far as ink goes, it takes Lexmark XL 100. The cheap ink from amazon didn't fit in the printer, and when I bought the name brand from amazon, the ink came nearly empty. For an extra 5 or 10 bucks I buy my ink from staples where I can return it if it's empty. The ink is a key issue, and I hope you learn from my mistakes. Don't buy ink online and don't buy the cheap brand which claims to be compatible!PROS: Excellent print quality. Wireless works flawlessly. Didn't have to set it up again after losing power.CONS: Had to call online support twice in the first year. They fixed it right away. Needs a firmware update. Re-calibrates every time I turn on the printer. Frustrating. Also, when I first installed the printer, I had to download the setup disk since it doesn't come in the box. I didn't have internet because I just moved, and I had to borrow my mother's internet connection to get the disk and then drive home with it.Windows 7.

The Lexmark OfficeEdge Pro5500 printer has been a great addition to my home. The printer was easy to set up and remains a very quick printer. I especially like the automatic 2 side printing (saves paper) and the ability to scan documents to e-mail addresses without a computer. The only issue with the misnamed SmartSolutions which is neither smart nor a solution to anything. The printer refuses to update the smart solutions which start at the Lexmark web page. Great idea in theory to be able to basically download helpful apps to the printer, but it does not work. The printer is also a bit on the large side and measures 19.5 x 15.5 x 11 high. All and all it remains a great value for the price and perfromance

This printer is horrible, especially for how much it costs! Half the time I try to print it says communication not available. The other half it looks like it will print but it just feeds the paper through and nothing actually prints. To get it to work you have to go through and unplug everything and restart the computer. If that doesn't work call customer support. An hour later you have a working printer...for about a week. Then it starts all over again. It is a huge hassle every time I try to print. I have downloaded all the updates and called customer service numerous times and nothing ever works for more than few days. I finally broke down and bought a new printer. I definitely do NOT recommend this printer unless you are looking for a huge expensive paper weight.

This thing is so big. After using it very much for about 3 months, the type is looking blurry in spots. For some reason, it will not print anything from the internet. If it runs low on color ink, even if you don't use color ink, it will stop working,. Then you have to go buy the darn color ink, plug it in, just so you can go back to black print.

I purchased the Lexmark Platinum Pro905 because of the advertised warranty and ink cost / savings. Very disappointed with both the warranty and ink usage.I received the printer from Amazon around the middle of August 2010. I connected it to my home network without a problem and the interface to operate it was easy to understand. I was very pleased with the printer at this time.Around October 29,2010 I contacted Lexmark help line because I was out of Cyan ink and two of the other cartridge appeared low to me.I thought we only printed about 30 or 40 pages since purchase, but after about 2 hours on the help line (he networked into my pc to check the printer out) I was told that we printed 119 pages per the self test page. Which still did not explain all the ink use. Also while looking at the self test page I noticed the print head information indicated ink usage as 1% black used, 1% yellow used, 2% Cyan used, and 1% Magenta used. It also showed that 74 pages were printed. I brought this to the attention of the support staff person and he could not explain the difference.Support decided to send me a cyan cartridge, have me install it and call back to see it they could repair the issue then. For some reason he could not get the printer to do what he was trying to do. He said that if that solved the issue then he would send me the other three cartridges. If it did not solve the problem he was going to send me another print head. I had no problem at this point. At least they appeared to be standing behind their product. He was going to rush the ink cartridge (3 to 5 days)Two week later I for called again for the cartridge that had not been delivered yet. I received it 3 days later.After receiving I installed and called the help line for them to check the printer again. Completely different story now. They would send me the other three cartridges one time and nothing is wrong with the printer. I explained that I purchased the Lexmark because of the warranty and the low cost of ink that they advertised and I was not happy with either right now. I was informed that I had the printer over 30 days now and I was stuck with the printer. I told them that I replace a HP Photosmart for their printer due to ink cost and the Lexmark did not print as sharp as the HP and it was costing me more for the Lexmark ink at this rate than HP. I was told she was very sorry but she could not do anything for me.I told her that I felt the ink advertisement and warranty they advertised was false and I would let anyone I met know not to purchase a Lexmark product.If you managed to get a Lexmark that works as advertised, good for you. If you do not have a lexmark, do not purchase one.I called Amazon help line and as usual they surpassed any expectation I had after explaining my problem.You can not go wrong purchasing anything from Amazon.Do not purchase a Lexmark printer ever.By the way. I connected my HP Photosmart back up and it is working like a charm. I just hate the price of ink.

Researched quite a few "all in one" and from reviews,e tc., this one seem to meet my expectations, cost, quality wise, etc.Easy to assemble. Good quality printing; have not tried fax yet but seem to be well build printer; that ink costs lessadd to the overall value to the product. Would highly recommend; remember, not too many printers come with afive year warranty!

When I received the printer it did not have the installation CD. I used the CD that I have but the printer would not work. I received authorization to return the printer but it will cost me as much to ship it back as the printer cost. I will never buy anything electronic again from this website.

This thing is one of the worst printers I've ever owned. Aside from being slow as molasses, I spend three or four times as much on ink (especially black ink) with this printer than any other printer I've ever owned, and I have all kinds of problems with the Windows 7 machines on my network printing with this device. On paper it looks fast enough but they apparently don't count in the software time and the fact that each time you start a new printing session it has to align itself, warm itself up, and perform who knows what else. You sit there and wait several minutes while the printer clicks, whirs, and buzzes, making your blood boil. The ink isn't overly expensive, but it's not super cheap either. And I only get a couple dozen pages out of each black cartridge. I'm estimating, of course, because they don't provide any page counter per cartridge or anything like that. I suspect it's because they know it doesn't really live up to the hype they give it about being the lowest black ink cost. This thing stinks. Don't buy it.

I have owned this great All-in-One printer for over two years now. In that time frame I have done TONS of printing. I have printed lots and lots of photos. I have used the machine as a copy machine as well on numerous occasions. It is still going strong and performance is outstanding.The touchscreen is nice and bright and easy to read.Fast printer !Energy star rated.FIVE-year warranty !Highly recommended.
