It is a bit noisy and a bit large, but I like Lexmark products a lot. It prints really fast. Mine have been workhorses throughout the processes of writing books and articles and teaching. I print a lot! I was able to set up the wireless by myself, electronics not being my strength. I would reccommend.

I have used HP tri color print ink cartriges for the last 10 years. When on color went, the whole cartrige was bad, even though there was ink in the other two colors. In the past I would spend $150.00 in ink alone printing our annual Christmas card. This year it cost $23.00 and only one color.This printer is also wireless, so I can print from my laptop, my kids can print from thier wireless devices, it faxes, copies and scans also.The best printer I have ever had.

I have owned this little printer since 2001(ish). To date, I have used it for low volume printing (eg. 1 batch per month in recent months though it used to print large 500+ volumes early on), and it has never failed me. I've never had to replace any components on it (no ink cartridges, toner, etc.). It has been connected to multiple generations of Linux, Windows, and MacOSX computers in my household during that time period with no problems whatsoever. The printer is solid, and I would definitely recommend this little guy for anybody who works from home, or is looking for a reliable printer that you won't have to replace ink cartridges every year.Be sure to use the recommended heavy paper. If not, the printer will struggle somewhat and sometimes end up with a clog. If you use the recommended paper weight, you will have no problems whatsoever.

I am very happy with this all-in-one printer. Purchased it for the wireless feature, which works great and the scan feature, which had the software included in the installation disc. Installation was very fast and easy. Yes I would recommend this Lexmark.

I bought this 3 in 1 approx 3 to 4 yrs ago at Wal-mart for around $79.95 or less. Sounded like a good deal. I've never had reason to use the fax. I've never used the ports for SD cards. It magically starts up by itself and scares the dog. It eats ink cartridges like they are going out of style. Seriously does! You're lucky to get 20 pages printed before having to deal with their low ink warning. My 1st Lexmark back in the 90's was a piece of crap. I guess it was the cost that led me back to buy another. I believe this will be the last Lexmark I'll buy.

I was very happy when this came in just a few days. I am teacher and I do most of my lesson planning from home. I was on school vacation when I ran out of ink and placed my order. I was able to finish my lessons before I went back on Monday!

I love this Lemark laser printer! I have wasted my money on ink jet printers in the past, buying ink cartridges every couple of months....I've done the calculations and the toner will last a lot longer than inkjet cartridges, saving me a lot more money in the long run. We have similar Lemark laser printers where I work, they print non-stop all day long and haven't had many problems, been at my job over 5 years now - if I get 5 years out of this printer I'll be really happy. Great buy for the price!

I will never buy another Lexmark printer. Here are the issues I had with this printer:1) The printer drivers (at least for Mac) did not allow you to print in grayscale or black or white - forcing you to use the color toner2) The toner does not last anywhere near what it should. We could get 1 to 2 ream of paper before the toner needed to be replaced3) The printer doesn't allow you to use all of the toner. It seems to just estimate when the toner is out.4) The printer will NOT let you print if you run out of toner. Even if you run out of a color toner and have plenty of black toner, you can't print a black and white print job.5) The toners are extremely expensive: Roughly $80 for each one. You need 3 colors and a black and white toner.It is clear that the Lexmark sells the printer cheap, only to make a large profit on the toner replacement.

I have owned an HP and a Xerox All in One. This little machine is priced right, easy to operate and makes good copies. It doesn't consume mass quantities of ink like the Xerox, but it does have it's little quirks; It needs to be restarted at least once a week or it fails to function properly. It starts warning you about ink levels when 1/2 full, constantly popping up warnings. These are minor annoyances, but otherwise it's a good machine at a good price point.

Worst printer I have ever owned period. Don't waste your money, do some research and get yourself a reliable printer. I wish I would have done that but the $5.00 black ink cartridge was very tempting. Worked fine the first month, after that it wouldn't recognize the black ink cartridge, I tried different things to make it work, but it wouldn't until I used all the rest of the color cartridges and replace them with new ones, than, it worked!! Until the black ink cartridge was half way used, then I'm having the same problem again! Very dissapointed... Will not buy Lexmark printers again!

The printer was purchased to replace a Kodak ESP 9250 with the same capabilities. The Kodak required a new print head after 13 months; however, the warranty was only 12 ($28); Lexmark has a 5-year warranty, a considerable improvement. I purchased this model based on a relative's good experience with the printer, and good support; my experience has also been very good.Lexmark is faster printing than the Kodak; the Kodak took considerable time before it actually started to print and then printed slowly. The Lexmark reacts quickly to a print command and produces a good quality print in no time. The Lexmark's touch screen controls are easy to see and to follow.The Kodak Wi-Fi signal was undependable and weak; the Lexmark is much stronger and responds to wireless laptops at a distance.Overall, I give the Lexmark 5 stars for cost, reliability, warranty and ease of use.Possibly everyone else already knows this already, but - if you use the Wi-Fi option, don't turn the printer off, let it go to standby. If you turn it off, then turn it back on it has a new IP address and your PC doesn't recognize it.

I just received the new plugged it in and found the display would not work. Called them and they are sending me a new one. Thanks to them but the best warranty is the one you never have to use.

Problem after problem...do not buy this printer!!!! Uses color toner and photoconductor when printing in black and white - problems recognizing photoconductors - output tray jams - etc etc.

Works great. Had to replace current T640 (it is 6 and 1/2 years old) so I was able to find this one refurbished for a decent price and it is working great.

Its a great printer if you need it primarily for document printing and if you want to save money on ink in the long term. The high capacity black ink is only $4.99 which will give you roughly 500 pages. The color ink cartridges are decent in terms of price. The 3 color combo pack can be purchased in the $30-33 range. The high capacity version is priced at $45-55 range. If you need to do photos, forget about this printer and go for an artisan or a photosmart. However, I don't recommend buying a photo printer just because you want to do photos once in a while. Just buy this printer and get your photos done at bartells or some local photo shop. It will save you time, money, and stress.The printer is easy to use. The touchscreen is a good size and it responds promptly. The printer looks good and it will save you money on ink. I like the idea that I only have to spend $4.99 for a black cartridge when HP and Epson cost a lot. It's worth buying this printer for people who needs a printer for document printing, scanning, and copying at home.This printer is worth buying as long as the price is below $200. A few major retailers I've been to prices it at $199.99 when it's on sale and they offer a trade-in deal f $50 off if you bring in an printer. I'm sure other retailers have a similar deal. However not everyone keeps track of when retailers go on sale. I'm not the kind of person who keeps track of sale so Amazon is a great place to shop without waiting for something to go on sale. It's also worth buying an extended warranty if you're a heavy user and as long as the price is right. Printers nowadays don't last long like they used to. If you're going to buy one, make sure the warranty comes after manufacture warranty with power surge and accidental damage from day one.

I have two 901 Pros. One seems to work okay but one has never worked properly with my Mac. The biggest problem is with there call center. How nice it would to talk to someone in this country that doesn't have a thick accent and can actually be of some help. What's this country coming to. THIRD WORLD??

I'm was not happy with this printer at all. It took three or four minutes to be ready to print. Sometimes I think there were Vacuum tubes in it the need to warm up. It's very slow starting. Within two months the printhead went bad. I went through all the tech help online and wasted hours in the process, I had to contacted online support, the tech told me to update the software and tried to dump me. I told him the hours of trying to correct this problem and he continued on with me. Finally I was told it was the print head, they overnighted me one, it arrived the next morning. The installation instructions for the printhead were not the easiest to understand, and I had some problems, but finally got it in. I just wanted to print my tax forms, not waste time trying to repair a brand new printer. I couldn't delete the quequed pages and it was printing wildly, had to contact online tech help again. The online tech took remote control of my computer, It took him an hour or so to empty the queque and straighten the problem out. I then started to print my tax forms but it was printing with colored stripes across the page. Had to print many pages to clear this problem up, wasted alot of ink in doing so. It still did not work properly and I continues on with the stripes across the page. Also, It would freeze up and I had to unplug it and start over. Later I contacted customer service, they called me and after discussing this, they sent me a brand new Lexmark pinnacle pro 905, the better model. Its working ok. I have to say the customer service was very good but I'm not happy with Lexmark printers, in general. ****UPDATE***. THE COLOR STOPPED PRINTING, AGAIN!! IT WOULD ONLY PRINT IN BLACK, SPENT OVER A WEEK TRYING TO GET MY THIRD, REPEAT.. THIRD PRINTHEAD... IT FINALLY CAME AND I INSTALLED IT, COLOR IS NOW WORKING BUT THE BLACK DOES NOT PRINT. STILL WAITING FOR LEXMARK TO CONTACT ME. ANYONE WHO BUYS ONE OF THESE IS OUT OF THEIR MIND. I WILL BE MAKING A YOUTUBE VIDEO SOON WHEN I THROW THIS POS OUT OF THE WINDOW IN PHILLY. HORRIBLE PRINTER!!!!!

I purchased this after I got an error saying the photoconductor was low. The installation was easy and very quick. Just follow the directions and don't touch the green part!

I compared the Lexmark Pinnacle Pro901 All-in-One Printer against the HP Officejet Pro 8500A, since they're both very similar printers (in the $150-$200 range). The printer has nice styling and appears to be pretty solidly constructed, unlike some other cheaper printers I've had. I use my printer for light-use, for printing, copying and scanning personal papers, ebay invoices, and that kind of stuff.The Lexmark provides a quality print job, though I wouldn't say it's particularly fast. This printer is up to the job if you're looking for something a bit more substantial in an all-in-one printer, but don't need a heavy-duty printer and/or copier. While I didn't hook up the fax function (as I tend to scan-and-email my documents - does anyone use faxes anymore?), I tried out the printing (from computer), scan and copy functions, and they were all satisfactory, if a bit on the slow side. But unless you're doing heavy-duty jobs, this machine should be adequate for your task - it's a good all-around printer for household use. I did not hook up the wireless capability, as my setup didn't require it.PRINTING - nice quality on both the color and B&W (I printed some google maps in color). The printer did take a fair amount of time to warm up/calibrate for these jobs, but once it got going with the printing, it took about 5 seconds or so per page.SCAN - scanner worked well - nice clear images, and you can designate where you want to output to (computer, SD card, etc).COPYING - nice copies, if a bit slow for the machine to warm up/calibrate. The feeder worked smoothly, though it's not nearly as fast as a dedicated/'real' copy machine, but for my purposes (stacks of no more than 15 sheets), I was satisfied with the results.PRINTER FEATURES: The touchscreen panel is simple to use/intuitive, and there are ports on the front of the printer for SD cards and a USB-thumb drive. When these ports are used, you can access files directly from the card/drive, and it'll show a pre-scan image on the control panel - very cool. There is also a nice display for determining printer ink levels.Another significant selling point of this printer is that the cost-per-page is low, due to low cost of printer cartridges. This is a pretty significant consideration; speaking from experience, I've had other printers where the cartridges ran over $30 apiece and far outstripped the cost of the printer itself, with middling results. It's encouraging to see the cost of cartridges coming down.NOTE: the first printer I got from Lexmark was defective - the touchscreen basically froze upon startup and wouldn't react, rendering the printer a paperweight. After two calls to Lexmark, I was able to get a replacement printer shipped to me (and they prepaid for UPS of the defective one back to them). Customer service was ok but not spectacular.

WORST PIECE OF CRAP I HAVE EVER BOUGHT. I've had it about a 1 year and 1/2. First it was very annoying because when you wanted to copy something the thing would be in sleep mode and couldn't get it to come out of sleep mode. Tried pushing the button and would just go back to sleep. So I had to unplug it and plug it in again. I was very frustrated with that. Then the Printhead was faulty and Lexmark sent me a new one for free because still under warranty. Now that it is 1 year and 1/2 old, Printhead went out again and had to buy a new for $65. I thought ok now maybe problem solved. Printed a couple of times perfectly, now the darn thing says it can't communicate with the black ink cartridge. Took the cartridge out and put back in, still no luck. Turned off printer and restarted. Still no luck. Now I am ready to throw the thing out the window. Stick with HP. Lexmark sucks!

I think this printer is a great example of - you get what you pay for. We bought this all in one over a year ago to replace a standard high quality printer we had for years. We wanted color and scanning. Our old printer never gave us a single problem. Albeit black and white, it prints every time we want it to. That hasn't been the case with the Lexmark. We have multiple laptops and a wireless network setup, and we are constantly having issues with print jobs failing. In addition, while the black ink is cheap, you burn through the ink very fast (and I usually print in quick print mode), and the other colors are expensive and seem to run out quickly. I rarely use the colored printing - saving it for times I really need it, and still it amazes me how quickly the cartridges need to be replaced. I've read that there are often problems with all in one printer, but I don't have any experience with others so I can't compare. What I do know is that I've been trying to print a simple document for 30 minutes today and I can't make it happen. I've reset the printer, restarted the processes, tried to print from multiple computers and still nothing. When I can actually get the device to work, I'm happy with the print quality, it's that lack of reliability that gets me. Given my experience with the device, I would not recommend it. A printer should just work.... Period!
