This is our 2nd Pinnace Pro 905. No, not a replacement, one for home, one for (non-home) office. It's a terrific printer - when it works. It's a fast printer, and if you print a lot of black-only - it hard to beat on the cost of ink per page. I've been happy with the color printing, but the cost is competitive, not amazing. The quality is very good.Parts break, though, and Lexmark is speedy about sending replacement parts at no cost to the user. This happened 2ce on my 3 year old Pro905, we'll see about this new one.....

Bought this Lexmark Pinnacle Pro901 printer in 2010 based on the very good reviews at the time. At first, we experienced good quality printing and scanning. It lasted about one year before the print quality began to suffer. After performing all the recommended troubleshooting procedures, replaced the print head at a cost of about $36. This resolved the problem . . . but only temporarily. After about 8 more months, the same print quality problem occurred. This time, the print head cost was about $65. For the relatively little printing we do, the cost of maintaining this printer was becoming excessive. From the current reviews of this model, it appears this problem is typical of the design. We opted to buy a new Epson Workforce 845 model to replace the Lexmark high-maintenance problem child.

Most of the items I print are just 1-3 pages, so first copy speed is important. This printer's speed is great and I never have to wait now. Copy quality is excellent as well. The price was most reasonable also. No complaints at all!

I've owned many brands of printers (hp, Epson, Canon), but I wanted a printer with lower cost of ink. So I bought the Lexmark after I read an initial review in Consumer Reports as being the printer with the lowest cost of ink. Don't believe it. It performs no better than most printers, and in fact stops printing when the indicator shows that the ink cartridge is still one quarter full. The printer I purchased initially stopped working after about one month. I sent it back and they replaced it with a new one. Then the cartridge stopped on that one and Lexmark replaced it. Then the cover unhinged during a change in ink and I never could get it to snap in again. It's very poorly built. The cover has been sitting on the printer catawampus ever since. I didn't send it back, because I was tired of dealing with lexmark, having to send it back etc, and at that point at least it was printing. I just swore myself to not ever buy another Lexmark product and also to not believe Consumer reports anymore.

The reason I wanted this particular printer was to replace mine that is precisely the same. I was very happy that the printer was as advertised when it arrived, in perfect condition, ready to set up. The seller was nice enough to contact me before the sale to let me know that cartridges were not included so that wouldn't be a surprise. I'm very happy with this purchase.

I have owned the Lexmark Platinum Pro905 for 2 years. It is the best printer I have ever owned. Set up was a breeze. The black ink is super cheap. It has been very dependable and I do a LOT of printing (grad student). I love the duplex feature and the extra paper tray. I am baffled by all the complaints.

Worst printer I've ever owned! Absolutely do not recommend it!! It has given me nothing but problems. To start with, for some reason I can't use the scanning features because it keeps saying the drivers are not installed on my computer even though I have installed everything from the disk included AND reinstalled from the website. STILL NOT working! Second the printer decided to randomly shut off and not turn back on the other day. Green light was showing in power cord so I know it was getting power, but would not turn on. After letting it sit for several WEEKS it finally decided to come back on. Third (and biggest complaint) is the INK!! It runs out of ink VERY fast and as soon as it "thinks" it's out of ink it flags you that ink is gone and will NOT let you print any further documents. It does this before the ink is even totally empty!! Documents right before this warning were printing fine with full inking and no signs of ink getting low! This has been a HUGE inconvenience especially when you are in the middle of printing something and it decides not to print any more because it "thinks" its out of ink. I FULLY BELIEVE THIS IS JUST A SCAM TO GET YOU TO BUY MORE INK!!!!! The ink is VERY expensive also!! Horrible printer! Don't buy! Wishing I had never wasted my money on it! I'm going out today to buy a CANON as I've heard they are much better!! Lexmark SUCKS!

Setup was a little complicated. Instructions for wireless setup could have been easier. Eventually got through it, though. As noted in other reviews, it is a noisy printer. However, it it fast and seems to do the job.

Always glad to get a new cartridge when the old one is going too light. This return program is great, because I don't feel like I am wasting the old cartridge and they make it easy by sending the return package of stuff along with the new cartridge. It was one of the best prices we found!

I have had my E120n printer for a while now, with over 7000 pages printed. As expected, I have gone through a few cartridges. Cartridges worked for me every time so far, with good lifespan. Cartridge comes sealed, with a simple replacement process (no mess). Printer was bought in U.S., so cannot speak to other reviews with "region" issues.Overall price is slightly cheaper than getting direct from Lexmark, and saver shipping is free. Postage is included, and the shipping container is re-used to return the empty cartridge. Really, can you ask anything more from a replacement cartridge?

I have this printer for more than a year now. It has a lot of good points: five year warranty, cheap black ink cartridges. As others mentioned, the printhead might break (mine did) and Lexmark replaced it. Good to see Lexmark stand behind its products.I would absolutely love this printer if not for one glaring problem. Every few days, the printer would lose its network connection. Didn't matter if it was Ethernet or Wi-fi, the printer's network software just stopped working, so the computer gave me the "Network Connection Lost" error when I tried to print. I contacted Lexmark support many times. First they claimed my network environment was at fault. It's not. Other owners reported the same problem. Eventually they replaced the printer. It didn't help, of course. I'm forced to unplug the printer and restart it every few days.After so much frustration, I finally found a solution: plug the printer into a cheap $8 plug-in timer. Set it to power off in the middle of the night when nobody is using the printer. Problem solved! (The printer's network connection seemed to work for at least 24 hours after powering up.) Hopefully someday Lexmark will release a firmware to solves this problem properly. It is ridiculous that I have to do this!

I will never buy another Lexmark printer. It is noisy and when it jams, set aside an hour or two to figure it out. Glad to hear that Lexmark got out of the ink jet business. They ought to exit the laser business as well.

Are you looking for a useless piece of crap that wastes your time and money and doesn't do things like print, copy or scan? Then you should definitely buy this disgusting excuse for an electronic device (I cannot in good faith call it a "printer" or an "all-in-one", but I will concede that it is "electronic" in the sense that you plug it in, not that it does much good to do so). Or, if you are short on cash, you can come get mine, which I am going to thrown down the stairs of my office building - not to worry, there's no way this thing could possibly operate more poorly even after a six story fall.

The main problem with this printer is the frequent and recurring communication problems I have had. I have been on the phone numerous times trying to get it to communicate. It works for a while and then just stops. I have just printed something, went to print something else and ONCE AGAIN it can't communicate. Now I know how those guys in 'Office Space' felt about taking the printer out to the field and demolishing it. Avoid this printer. I will not buy another Lexmark.

I bought the S405 through Amazon mostly on the basis of favorable reviews here and on other sites where electronic products are reviewed. Buying a printer that was efficient---meaning, didn't use much---on ink was highly important. In general, manufacturers price printers dirt cheap and then gouge you on replacement ink cartridges. All reviews rated the S405, and other Lexmark printers that use the 100 series cartridges, very highly in this regard. I went to a brick and mortar store and the sales people confirmed the Lexmark was very good in this regard. But, the particular S405 *I* received has been horrible. The cartridges packaged with it were toys---they ran out after just a few sheets of paper. I bought a full set (i.e., one black, 3 color) of cartridges at Office Depot, which set me back around $80, and installed them. These were the "XL" type---they cost more than the regular "L" cartridges but are supposed to be something like 3x more efficient for the difference in price. I expected a set like this to last something like 1/2 year at the rate we print---we use the Lexmark mostly for copying and color printing which we don't do much of, for regular black and white we use a different (laser) printer. It's been around one month and the black is nearly empty, all 3 color cartridges are only around 20-25% full, and we've only printed a little more than 100 sheets. At this rate, I will spend something like $700-$800 per year on ink, which is insane. I am in discussions with Lexmark technical support and most likely they will send a replacement printer, but first they want to ship me another cartridge and have me try again---as if it's at all likely that I bought 4 different malfunctioing cartridges at Office Depot! Anyways, the purpose of this review isn't to complain about Lexmark service, rather just to warn that so far I have no evidence this printer is at all efficient on ink, rather, just the opposite. A couple of other annoying things: when you install cartridges, they don't seat firmly. Actually, this might be related to my poor ink usage, perhaps this printer has some defect in the shape of the cartridge containers. Anyways, on every other printer I have ever used cartridges snap firmly into a compartment with some sort of spring-type grip and you can hear a distinct click, i.e., there can be no doubt whether a cartridge is seated properly. With this Lexmark you can never tell when a cartridge is properly seated, there is sometimes a click sometime not and it never feels firmly in place. Lastly, we have 5 computers in our house that need to reach the Lexmark wirelessly. So, I had to do 5 installations. Each installation was time consuming---this is *NOT* a printer where you can just "connect" and have the operating system automatically find drivers and set it up, it needs the Lexmark CD and a long procedure. On several of my home computers I had to repeat the procedure 2 to 3 times to get the installation to work. It is tricky, and will fail without obvious cause-and-effect reasons. The computers I installed on ran 3 different Windows systems, XP, Vista and 7, but the failures were spread around, they weren't all on one type. It simply appears to be hit or miss whether the install will work. By the way, I've got a Ph.D. in electrical engineering and 20 years experience in processor design, and so I know my way around these things, if I'm making errors then errors are too easy to make!

Lexmark OEM stuff tends to be better than generic remanufactured stuff. But with that comes prices that are way, way, way too high. I can understand the razor blade business model of doing things, but I don't think razor blades are marked up as high as toner cartridges are...atleast as a percentage of cost. (I could be wrong though)...but here's a product that everyone will need at some point with their printer that's actually affordable. It does what it supposed to do and is affordable...yay Lexmark. Now just make your toner cartridges more affordable so I don't have to buy more often then not 2nd rate remanufactured stuff.

I bought my Pinnacle Pro901 in 2010. Late last month, one of the runs on the print head burned. This prevented printing red ink. I contacted their technicians using the built in help link. The technicians responded promptly by sending me a new print head and ink cartridges. I installed them today and all is well again.The other 901 functions have been flawless. I use the document scanner regularly and it works well; even when the sizes of document pages vary. The initial wireless setup is intuitive and quick. It automatically scans for networks and you simply choose the network and it does the rest.They have more work to do on wireless network setup after the initial setup. I found it easier to reinstall the driver which used the initial setup function when I changed ISPs. Once set up, the wireless function works well. I regularly work on a laptop in a room 50 feet from the printer. Printing is just as simple as using a USB connection.The driver also provides the ability to scan to pdf and photos. This function work well, the resolution is adjustable, quality is good and the speed is acceptable. The 901 is a compact all-in-one which I hope to enjoy for years to come.

I bought this for work because it seemed to be a good price with decent features, however, it is horrible and I am going to be replacing it as soon as I can fit it into the budget.Some examples:- Cannot print labels: If you try to print price labels or anything of the sort they feed into the printer and get stuck. The labels will actually peel off and stick inside of the printer. I tried to use it for this multiple times.- Only accepts Lexmark ink: You cannot buy other ink and put it in this printer. If the ink does not have a chip on it that tells the printer it is lexmark ink then it will not work. I had to throw out a bunch of ink that I ordered due to this problem- Ramondly will not print and stops working. It seems to go crazy sometimes and will not print. Most of the time I can resolve this issue by restating both the computer and the printer, however, I have had to reinstall the drivers more than once.The list goes on. I am not sure if this is a fluke or what... I thought that Lexmark made decent products but now I will not be buying another one of their printers again for quite some time.
