If you need a powerful small printer for your office, this is it. I needed a spare printer for my office with Twain drivers as I print 2-300 page document packages very often and daily. This one is perfect. And, the ink cost if you use a compatible is about two cents a page. I am very happy with it and highly recommend.Shipping was fantastic. The company called me about my warranty information and told me they were shipping the follwing day. I received it in just a couple days. Will definitely shop again....

Ok first off I got this printer in just over two days and I chose free shipping option. I don't know what Amazon.com did to get this printer here so fast. This printer must have come to me on Murcury's wings. This Lexmark E360DN printer was delivered so fast it blew my old gray werewolf hair back.My species of werewolf is obssesive compulsive so when the printer arrived I took it out of its Amazon.com box. Next I took the actual printer out of its inner Lexmark box. I sat the printer on its shelf in my home. I peeled off the packing tape used to hold printer componants in place during shipment. I freed the printer cartridge from its packaing materials and properly reinserted it into its internal bay. I connected one end of a USB cable I had to supply to the printer with the other USB cable end connecting to my new Dell computer running Windows 7. I connected one end of the power cable to the printer and the other into my surge protector. I turned the printer on the little green LCD screen lit up asking me a few questions as it did its diagnostic self test. It passed its wake up test and went silent. I loaded the drivers onto my Windows 7 operating system by selecting the run setup.exe option. I followed the easy to understand prompts and selected the appropriate options for my model Lexmark E360DN printer.In no time at all not more than 3 minutes the driver was fully and correctly installed and my lexmark printer was there ready and waiting to be used. All I had to do was remember to remove my old printer driver and make my new Lexmark E360DN printer my default. Once I made my new lexmark E360DN printer my new default I printed something. I was amazed at how good the print looked. Even in economy mode the prints were first rate. The speed from warm up to first print after selecting print option is less than 20 seconds. The standard paper tray could be bigger so I took a star off for that but thats a little thing. So you will get up more often changing paper big deal. You can work this printer like a wild man and I should know because I am a wild man. This printer finishes all jobs quickly and will be sitting there eagerly waiting for your next printing challenge.Now I must confess I work everyday as a computer geek with printers of all kinds including Lexmark but never this model E360DN. I don't install printers for a living but I install and test printers of all kinds often as part of my job. However this printer is one of the easiest to set up I have ever encountered. Another well known printer company makes installing its printers about as easy as force feeding baby pigeons full grown elephants through an eye dropper!I don't use my printer for envelope processing so I don't know how this printer stacks up in that area. So if you just need a hard working basic printer that loves to work and work and work here is your home or office Lexmark E360DN printing solution. Finally in the all important area of cost Amazon's hidden price whipped the snot out of the official Lexmark home site price for this exact same printer and its toner so buy them from Amazon.com unless you have money to burn!

RUN DON'T WALK AWAY from this printer. It will cause you more problems than it's worth. I have one and as soon as I can get rid of it it's gone.

The pages printed had black marks on them. This product fixed the problem and now we have clean copies again. Great price.

I bought this to replace an ancient HP 880 which I was finding difficult to get replacement cartridges. For the first 6 months or so the printer worked great - good print quality on black and white, color, paper, pictures etc. The wireless feature also worked great on several home PC's. Combined with the low ink price it was a real winner. Lately however it has performed miserably. Black ink cartridges although low in cost seem to be consumed after printing 10-20 pages. I uploaded the firm ware a couple of weeks ago based on on-line chat support from Lexmark. I was hopeful that this would solve the problems. No such luck. I put a new black cartridge in ~ 3 weeks ago. Print quality seemed pretty good - but now - it has gone bad again already and the print indicator shows the cartridge is nearly empty. This after no more than 30-40 very simple B&W prints.I have also experienced the problems with the wireless features of the printer. Initially it worked every time. Now I get a "not connected - or no communication" error about 1/2 the time I try to use the printer. To clear this you have to unplug the printer and reboot. Major inconvenience especially when you're in a hurry to print something as you're heading out the door. Next step - will be to contact Lexmark again and see about a new print head. I'm hoping that a new print head will solve the printing problems - but from what I've read in other reviews I would not bet on it.

I bought this printer because I read several reviews that said I could buy third party ink at a much lower price thatthe original Lexmark ink that is a very high cost. I bought the printer and everything worked fine. The ink that came with the printer didn't last verylong as I guess it was just to get you started. I purchased some third party ink at a good price and still all was OK.Then the fun began. A window popped up on my screen saying that a firmware update was needed so I downloaded it. Immediately a message cameup on my printer screen that said ink cartridge(s) unrecognized. I was then UNABLE to print anything again although I had just printedsomething before I downloaded the so-called upgrade. Now I have to go out and buy very expensive Lexmark ink before I can use my printeragain. Even if some people don't mind paying a lot of money for the Lexmark ink, this printer is not great anyway. Piece of junk made in China.Save your money and get some other brand.

I'm shocked by the largely positive reviews of this printer.I'm not a big review-writer but was compelled to create an account just to warn people against this printer, which is really, really bad.I'm on my 3rd printer. I've also had the print head replaced twice. I've tried everything I could to get a refund direct from Lexmark, but their strict policy only allows for continued "repairs" until the problem is fixed. In that sense (and in fairness to the Lexmark brand) they're very responsive and try hard to make it right (hence the repeated replacements.) But the problem, it turns out, is that the printers aren't broken. They're just poorly created.The problems:* Routine paper jams* Frequent ink leaks - several times, when printing photos, the paper has come out completely saturated with one color of ink or another.* CONSTANT color issues: when printing photos, colored text, etc., it invariably comes out with discolorations (blue = green, black = gray, etc.)* The touchscreen freezes about 3/4 of the time i use it, requiring a reboot to continue use* The scanning quality seems lower than advertised - always comes through a fuzzy* The print quality - when it DOES print correctly (rare) - is still very low. Not sharp, not vibrant.I'm somewhat computer savvy and have tried EVERYTHING recommended on the site to remedy my problems - updated drivers, firmware, etc. No luck.FYI: I'm using it wirelessly with my new MacBook Pro, so my only thought is some sort of operating system incompatibility, which might explain others' satisfaction with this printer.For me, though, it was a big mistake. And even though I'm on my 3rd, shiny new one, I'm going to buy a different brand of printer, because it's essentially useless.Stay away! If your experience is anything like mine, you will surely regret it.

Great color. Get's the job done. Has 3 different color cartridges and black. I only have to stock up on the colors used most for my printing style. Better quality print and toner is priced more reasonably than anh HP Inkjet I've owned.

Great value for the price. Extremely fast shipping and works like a charm. I bought this for our office. We replaced the same exact printer. I did not want another printer due to the problems of networking and compatibility with all of our software and operating systems. A big thank u and would definitely recommend buying from this company.

This is one of a few inkjet all-in-one's packaged with XL ink cartridges (official yield rated at 600 pages for color, 510 for black), auto 2-sided printing and document feeder, wi-fi connectivity, and comes with an un-matched 5 year warranty (1 year initial, 4 additional years after registration) for less than $150. You might want to look at the Pro705 which can be similar in price. You will have to stay with Lexmark's "Pro" printers to get the 5 year warranty, everything else in their line is 3 years or less. The Pro205 has 64MB built-in, with a max print speed in draft mode of 33 PPM in black, 30 PPM in color, which is about average.The packaging of the product is top-notch. The unit was thoroughly taped (at least 10 separate pieces) to protect the unit during transit, and the printed documentation was fancy although I never needed to read it. Of course, the highlight is the aforementioned XL ink cartridges, and the package also comprised of a USB cable, phone lines, and an installation CD which includes OCR software. The installation itself was a breeze, and the video animation was helpful. The construction of the unit has thoughtful touches: a spring-loaded button opens the document feeder casing to clear jams, and the glass to copy/scan documents has clear arrows telling you where to position the document. The unit is made in China, and the ink cartridges in Singapore. Cold start up time is about 39 seconds, wi-fi connectivity about 15 seconds longer if it works (more on that later). Warm start up time is about 6 seconds.As for print quality, on premium inkjet paper, I'm very impressed. I printed out maps from Bing 3D using "Best" quality setting, and friends could not believe how sharp the prints were (you could see tennis court boundary lines). The cost of the "Best" setting is high ink usage - you can see the ink drain quickly using the software's ink monitoring graphics, but that's probably true for all inkjets. On regular paper, the color quality was not so impressive even using the "Best" option, with pictures lacking vibrance and loosing color accuracy compared to premium paper. The drop-off in photo quality is I think mostly due to the paper. Black text is so-so on either paper - obviously not laser-sharp, probably about average among other inkjets.My wi-fi connection was sporadic at best even though the wi-fi status light shows green, although I'm not sure if this is because I am using Windows Vista 64-bit on my primary laptop (yes, I downloaded the 64-bit drivers from Lexmark's site). I usually resort to sticking in the USB cable for 100% reliability and faster data transfer. My other laptop running Windows XP had no problems with the wifi connection.Regarding paper handling, if you're planning on printing on paper thicker than standard, this unit really struggled. Using Avery 4x6 card inkjet paper, which is thicker than standard paper, the unit would either jam, print in the wrong location, or not feed in at all and the unit would start printing on nothing (you can hear the print heading moving and printing). I would have hoped on the latter situation that a sensor would know there is nothing to print on, but no. After printing about 50 sheets on thick paper, the rubber rollers started to peel out particles, like a rubber eraser on a pencil. Occasionally on regular paper, the automatic duplex printing would jam as the paper is reeled backwards, but most of the time this worked.I am very impressed with Lexmark's customer service. That's a good thing. Why I'm calling customer service right after I bought the unit is not. Any document I scanned or copied would have a thick vertical black stripe across the entire page. The customer service rep had no idea besides clean the glass, reset the printer to default settings, and reboot. But he was nice and polite, and Lexmark had a new unit shipped and arrived in record time - 2 days (maybe it helps that they shipped from Los Angeles and I'm in San Diego). My confidence is slightly shaken, but the new unit does not have this problem and works perfectly so far, except of course the intermittent wi-fi connectivity.Due to the excellent color print quality, features, packaging, customer service, and stellar warranty at this price point, I'm willing to give the Pro205 4 stars.

I have owned this printer since 2011. I have used it with two different windows 7 computers, a Dell and an HP. It prints about 50% of the time, claiming it can't communicate with the computer the other half. I have tried wired, wireless, different cables, soft ware and firm ware upgrades with no effect. Sometimes rebooting the computer helps. This is my first and last Lexmark. What a steaming heap.

We bought this printer as it looked fancy with touch screen controls.But trust me, this is printer is one lousy machine. We have replaced the printhead 3 times and the entire printer once, but it is what it is!! Here are the common problems I had with the printer connected in the wireless mode.1. Printer will usually not do anything when a document is sent. The wifi will light up green implying connection is ok. After several attempts it may print..as if it had to be smacked a few times with data !2. Even if it does print, there are horizontal lines on the page most of the time, or the words are garbled.3. After repeated calls to Lexmark they tried everything from aligning the printer, downloading the lastes firmware etc., etc., and the same issues repeat again and again.4.Each print cartridge will last you about 10 sheets. Not quite economical !5. We finally got a replacement printer from Lexmark. But it shows identical issues.I give up !The only positive things...the scan and email feature is very useful, and I have to say the customer service is very good. They do not even ask you for purchase proof, but respond with solutions, like sending new cartridge or printer replacement.But what is the point if there are serious and basic flaws with the hardware and technology? Lexmark should focus on debugging problems at the source (manufacturing) and improving their product and not just compensate with good customer service.

I've owned several HP printers in the past and I was really tired my printers being wasteful of ink and just seemed like the felt apart after a few years of occasional use.I decided to spend a little extra money and I purchased the Lexmark Pro901 printer and so far, I couldn't have been happier. I use the scan to computer (via Adobe PDF) a lot (and scan-to-email occasionally). When purchasing our first home recently, there were lots of documents that needed to be signed (sometimes 20+ pages worth) and I was able to get the documents e-mailed to me then I printed them off, scanned them back in using the scan/copy tray on top, and I was able to e-mail them back without needing to setup an appointment to sign all the documents.After owning and using this for 6 months with weekly use, I have yet to replace a single cartridge. I'm not printing daily but it isn't uncommon for my wife and I to print something once or twice a week and it has held up extremely well. (Black ink is currently half-full and Yellow, Cyan and Magenta are 3/4's full)The other feature I just love on this is the automatic sleep mode. If the printer sits idle for 30 minutes, the LCD screen and printer go into a sleep mode that easily wakes back up when needed, even though the printer is only connected wirelessly. (And yes, this feature can be disabled if you don't like that).Which brings me to the last feature I love, wireless! When I was first looking at wireless printers, some of the complaints I read was how during initial setup, you had to connect the printer directly to a computer using the USB cable. Not the Pro901 though. I've never needed to connect the printer to a computer, I was able to connect it to home home wireless network (WPA2) without any problem and again, without needing to connect it to a computer first.And the best feature of all for us Linux Geeks out there, Lexmark's Java based Printer ToolBox software works in Linux! And while it is true that you should be able to print to most printers from Linux, Lexmark has made sure their additional software that lets you see things like your ink levels or clean or align the cartridges from their ToolBox software from within your Linux software. I don't recall which flavors of Linux its prepackaged for, but I'm using Ubuntu so any of the Debian-based distro's should work.

3/3/2011. This is an update to my original review (see below). To recap, I liked the machine in principal but it had a few severe weaknesses: had to reboot frequently to get the computer and printer to talk to each other and it could not handle card stock. I was managing to work with that until I started to get wide blue streaks across the pages. Must be the print head, I thought, so ran the head cleaner utility provided by Lexmark. After that was done I got a message that the process did not work and gave instructions how to remove the head and clean. I did as instructed, put it back in, and since that time I only get a message that "there is a problem with the print head". When I searched the web for solutions I read many reports of a similar issue with the print heads, with no one having a suitable solution. Then I tried to find a replacement print head but they did not seem to exist. Long story short, I now have a $200 printer with unused ink cartridges and all together nothing works. You can take a chance and see if you can get one that works, but if I were you it is not worth the significant hassle.Below is my earlier reviewFirst of all, I got this printer mainly to print in black, except for the rare occasion that I want to print greeting cards in color, and to use the copier. It seemed to be very easy to set up, and printing and copying is a real snap while it is working. The problem that I have is that if the printer jambs, which is does frequently while printing on heavier card stock, the print spooler seems to get stuck and I get the "printer is unable to communicate with the computer" error message. I am then unable to delete the item from the sprint spooler, and the only way to continue printing is to reboot the computer. This same issue arises if the computer goes "to sleep" - all communications with the printer stops until a reboot. I did not have this issue with any of the other 2 printers I have had in the past on this computer, only the Lexmark. I did manage to print 45 greeting cards in color (with much difficulty) and the ink usage, both color and black and white, was very minimal, so the price of each color cartridge do not concern me. Like other printers with a front load, the heavier card stock has to do a 180 turn to pass by the print head and that is where the jamb seems to occur. If making cards is something you want to do I recommend getting a back loaded printer instead of this one. I have not tested it at all yet with photos, however. I have rated the installation as three stars because while the instructions were clear and the installation seemed to go easily, the problem with the necessary reboot to print so consistantly happening I just decided to blame the setup routine for not addressing this issue. For those that this matters, I am using Vista. The scanner works fine with multiple choices as to the output (Word, Adobe, print, etc.)

Our family prints moderate amount of pages: homework and some web pages. It wakes up very quickly, prints fast. The images are sharp. But it does jam from time to time. We are using jam free paper, it helps somewhat. The most down side is its toner cost. Out old HP network printer used a toner cartridge once a year or less (10,000 stated capacity for $130); But now the Lexmark 260DN uses more than 4 cartridges a year (stated 3500 pages for $139 including tax).We had it for about three years, printed 26K sides (25K pages) as of Aug 2012.

I have two and would buy this 4 in 1 again. Economical ink and very good quality print. Once in awhile, the printer seems to have a mind of its own and doesn't respond to one of my laptops.
