I bought these speakers and hooked them up to my MacBook. The instalation was as simple as plugging headphones into an iPod! For $50 these speakers are excellent! The sound quality is great, and although they are small they produce a good volume! Excellent buy!

Installation is a breeze and sound quality is more than enough to use on any high-end desktop system. The wiring is long enough to allow the ideal positioning of the speakers and sub-woofer. You can adjust the volume from two touch-sensitive buttons on the left speaker, and the sub-woofer has two rotating knobs for bass and treble.Apparently exists also in gray and black, but may have been discontinued, so hurry!

The JBL Creature II pc speakers have a better than average sound for a 2.1 system. The controls are easy to use with separate bass and treble controls on sub and volume control on of the small speakers. They are loud enough for an average room.

These are really good mediocre speakers, but they won't "blow" you away. They are good computer speakers for a one room sound system, but isn't good for a whole house solution. BUT great sounding speakers for a 1 or 2 room sound system, and awesome for computers!! SOOOO much better than your typical computer speakers. The two speakers are really little and take up very little space. The subwoofer is pretty big and takes up alot of room wherever you put it. I gave it four stars because the treble and bass knobs are kinda flimsy and are wobbly. AND also if you try to blast it, you get either a real tinny sound or too much bass..it just may take some playing to get it just right......but I have to say, these are the best computer speakers I have gotten, and I have had quite a few high dolllar computer speakers...I paid a fraction of the cost for these compared to others, and these compete really well...awesome!!

This is a good product considering the price. Sound is decent and it's a good sound system for a laptop in a classroom. As a teacher, this sound system provides what is required for the price. Not wonderful, but not bad either. I'm happy with its performance.

Great little speaker. Appearance wise, it is very attractive and has caught a lot of attention from our visitors. Sound quality wise, I'd say it is the best speaker you can get for under $50.

Keep in mind I'm not blasting these things extremely loudly. But in my office setting the sound quality is great and the price ($40) is pretty awesome too.

After weeks, if not months carefully researching many speaker systems for my iRiver (tyring to avoid the iPod hype)I eventually trusted the former ratings and bought this system, and I'm really glad I did!!!It sounds superb, the base and treble adjustment are perfect, looks great and gives out as much bang and quality as my $600 home theatre system.My iRiver loves its new pairing and is allowed to fully bloom at last!!Buy this system and you'll not be disappointed - I thought about shelling out the extra for the silver ones but who cares, the white finnish is great. The only thing that should have been more accesable is the power button as you have to grope between the wires on the back but don't let this put you off at all, it's more than livable.The volume controls are very clever too, no knobs or buttons, somehow it adjusts when you hold your finger over the up or down sensor pad on one of the satelites :-)

This little system has great sound. The bass really is amazing. Also it glows green underneath in the dark, kind of cool. I would recommend this product for small to medium spaces.

I got mine about a month ago the first set I got were defective but i'm guessing someone purchase them ruin them and returned. Anyway went back to the store exchanged for a new set, couple them with my cheap dell and even with this lousy sound card in my lousy dell the creatures work great in fact I'm enjoying some classic rock as I type this comment, great set love them and highly recommend.By the way we all shall post our comments on any and all products we buy, I always research things I'm planning to buy and yes I make my decision based on other consumers experiences, so keep posting good or bad it's all important.

These are small form speakers designed for a mixture of Film and music. They are the best looking and sounding speakers you will get in this price range. You get what you pay for and with these speakers, forty to fifty dollars is a very small price to pay for the sound you get. Just consider that these speakers will not blow you away with clarity. They are for easy listening through medium loud sound. Not for gaming though.

This product may look good, but as soon as i got it and hooked it up, i noticed a terrible hissing noise from the left satellite. It's only tolerable if i keep it on low volume.I was totally disappointed with this system.

Very good sound for very small price.Bass and treble control is very useful.Suits mp3 player and computer perfectly.Only (minor) problem: not portable (works on AC current and a bit heavy)

Unreal sound quality... Like Aaron (below) I was initially pissed at having almost no sound at all.. Hit the touch controls on the right speaker and Bam-Bam... I just love them..... Dump the factory default speakers... get these and enjoy.

I've been using the Creature II for three years and have yet to regret it.This is not the finest (read: most expensive) set one can own.It is an extraordinarily fine low-cost sound solution. I challenge anyone with a more expensive set to argue this is lower quality. In the computer world, perfection is not the goal. Fidelity and good listening comprise the goal, and this set secures itself.

37 dollars?!?!?! what a steal, i bought these bad boys for about 110 dollars. what a great buy. they are fantastic. before i bought them i searched everywhere for some decent inexpensive speakers and i found these and was more than satisfied. you'd be an idiot not to buy these. enjoy.

I purchased this product one month ago, so I can only attest to its installtion ease and operating quality in a relatively new state.Installtion was fairly benign. Need some care to make sure the cables are seated well, otherwise although they looked pushed in they're not. The power button in the back is badly positioned and a nuisance to access. Otherwise a breezeSound quality is very good. If you're a very discerning ear, this system is too inexpensive for that. But if you're looking for a powerful, low-cost option for your PC or Mac I can't suggest a better choice. I looked far and wide for something easily affordable and yet capable of playing music with some decent fidelity and volume power, and this was the only system that fit the criteria.Again as for longevity, I cannot say. Check back in a year!

I just bought my second set of Creature speakers because the price was roughly 50% of the price of my first set. The sound is great for a low cost laptop setup. The downside is the first set lasted about three years and then what?? The landfill?? The left speaker stopped working and the problem turned out to be inside the main creature. You can buy new small creatures but you can't replace the main creature. In other words, like much that is produced today, these speakers are produced to last a few years and then be chucked. They're too inexpensive to send them back for an expensive repair and JBL doesn't design them to be reparable by having the most likely parts available to order. I have a tinkerer friend who wants to give it a go but when are companies going to learn that the way they produce products has an adverse effect on the environment.

Get these speakers if you want great sound for the money. The highs are slightly metallic sounding but the bass is awesome. Wouldn't spend more than $50.

The look and sound of these speakers is great. The reason that I got them was becuase I was tired of haviing huge speakers sitting on my desk and distracting me from what I was doing. They were always getting in the way. I was attracted to these because of thier size and color. They match almost perfectly with my iMac that I have sitting on my desk. You just put the subwoofer under the desk and the small satellites on top, and it looks good.The sound of these little speakers are amazing. I've had some other speakers that were 4.1 sound, yet these little speakers are far better sounding. The bass is so deep and the vocals are very crisp. If you are looking for a great looking set of speakers that don't take up much room and sound excellent, then these are for you. Don't let thier size fool you, they are amazing. The price you can get them on Amazon is a very good deal too.

Cool! Beautiful! Strange! These are three words that could easily describe JBL's Creature II speaker system. I bought these to increase the sound of my laptop, and so far they're pretty great. They are sleek and almost alien-esque in shape, and sound great; I do agree with some reviewers who claim they sound hollow, as certain DVDs of mine do sound as such. However, there are many pros about the JBL Creature IIs, including but not limited to the touch-sensitive volume control buttons, which adds to its appeal. Recommended for the average listener, but not for the genuine audiophile.

I looooove these speakers. They are so tiny but the sound is soo strong. I have them in white and they look really nice next to my Macbook. The touch sensor part on the speakers is really cool when u want to adjust the volume. The subwoofer is reallly powerful. I live in an apartment and I cant even turn them up all the way because my neighbors complain.You would think that the speakers get static when the volume is high because they are so small, but they dont. Def buy this product if you are looking for quality speakers at a low price.

ive had this one particular Laptop Speakers before... i had recently lost them while moving to texas. Their sound is amazing. Its loud, clear, and clean. i would recommend this to anyone looking for a good set of computer speaker!

I needed to replace an aging "speaker box" that was shedding its cover in my computer room. My wife was threatening to dicvorce me otherwise. We went to the AppleStore at the Falls Mall in Miami. With the assistance of German, one of the really helpful Apple sales staff, I bought the JBL Creature Speakers.The speaker was set up in less than 5 minutes. The color coded inputs mean that you cannot go wrong with the setup. The look of the system is great. The sound is crisp and clear. The bass and treble knobs are stylish. The volume knobs...the volume knobs....oh wait, there are no volume knobs.Of course, I did not read the User's Guide. I looked for volume knobs. There are none. There are two touch sensitive buttons that make every volume knob that I have ever used seem outdated. It is a nice touch to an already well designed product.Now I need to get one for the office......

I bought these sweet speakers 2 weeks ago - I replaced my BIG AND BULKY 100W stereo system from phillips and I feel that the sound quality is BETTER (weird huh?). I think there is better reproduction of the higher frequency sounds compared to my old system.PROS: They are great. The two side ones are small and unobtrusive, and the large one can be hidden from view without loss of sound quality. These are beautifully designed - they LOOK GOOD sitting on my desk. Also - the volume controls are very easy to use - just gently tap the surface and it responds. The speakers fill my living room and kitchen with excellent sound - we also use them for movies.CONS: no remote - so you need to be right there to control volume. Also, the power button is on the big speaker, which I have hidden behind my monitor - this is somewhat inconvienent. That's the old downsides.Buy this thing! It is a great set of speakers.

Look good. Sound poor. I'm far from an audiophile, but it's obvious to anyone that these speakers were made with design in mind, with sound as more of an after-thought. Tinny and hollow, music is unenjoyable to listen to on this system. Spend the extra money on a worthwhile system unless you plan on using these only for gaming and possibly movies, if you don't mind the tenuous sound you'll get.

These have a great sound and a great look. The only problem is the speaker cords are short so you can't place them to far from the subwoofer, but don't let that keep you from ordering, they are very nice.

This Creature II was a replacement for the factory provided speakers for our Dell, which had failed and were not under warranty any longer. The JBL purchase turned out to be a very pleasant surprise overall. The quality of sound is definitely a step up from the previous set.Only one detraction is the AC power "brick" is surprisingly bulky and becomes almost too hot to touch after being attached to power.

The speakers and sub-woofer do a fine job of sound reproduction, both with my MacBook and also connected to my headphone jack on my HD TV. The only concern I have encountered is static electricioty in very dry weather which can possibly cause problems when adjusting the volume control. I experience this issue when I was adjusting my JBL Sound stage with the same type of volume control and some how caused a short circuit to occur.

We bought these speakers for our daughter to take to college. It is small and has good, though not excellent sound. We have another JBL product (the JBL spot) that we love, but it was twice the price.

I bought these speakers because they match my cpu and the tweeters are very small and don't take up much room. They also sound alright--I watched a couple of movies with the new speakers and they sound good.BUT, for some reason--I'm still not sure what the deal was, the tweeters were very frustrating to get working. When I plugged the tweeters in--the LED lights weren't coming on--so no sound. I finally got them to work by playing with the wires and unplugging them then plugging them back in. JBL has needs to get that fixed.A bitter-sweet purchase. And not a bad price.

One of the speaker does not work. Volume up and down buttons look fake. Sound is not clear. i will not recomend this item at all.

I have given these speakers as gifts on two occasions and own them myself as well. The sound quality is excellent and they're easy on the eyes also. In my opinion, there is no better system in this price range.

I came across this little ditty at the Mac store in Ginza (and now regret I didn't get it at Amazon who have it for almost half the price!) Still I had to get it. I remember Small computer speakers from that recent age when they were synonmous for cr*ppy listening. These seemed quite juicy !But how would it hold up on MY tiny i-pod I wondered... especially keeping in mind that the bass response on some i-pods do seem a bit weak at times. The answer... Unbelievable. Turned my i-pod into a home stereo system overnight! I put on some JB as well as Jazz -- the bass was really kicking. Overall range and dynamic great.... And the big treat was with FELA KUTI - - I could really hear Tony Allen's killer work on the kick drums...And a few added pluses - - aside from the speakers being magnetically shielded (no worry about placing them near the computer screen), you can place the larger bass speaker wherever you want (sound is omnidirectional.) Of course its best sitting in between the two tiny speakers, but even from across the room the sound isn't that bad. Overall power and volume won't shatter windows... but neither do I find myself playing them at top volume either. You can also mute the volume instantly by simultanouesly touching the right and left volume controls.BOSS proved that BIGGER is not necessariy better...JBL is proving that you can get a nice computer/i-pod speaker system with really great sound and not putting too much of a dent in the wallet.SOLD !

My computer's sound was just mediocre . . . I checked on the Apple Discussion Boards, and many people over there recommended these speakers. Then I looked at the reviews here. Almost all seemed very favorable.I ordered them yesterday. Got them today. Hooked up in 5 minutes. No configuration, just plug and play. I'm stunned! Now I'm keeping them way less than half-way powered up, and I know the neighbors can hear me three doors down. Sound Quality is excellent as well. I'm thrilled.

I was a little skeptical when I made this purchase, due in part to some of the other reviews and the low price of the speaker system. I have to say that I'm very comfortable with the purchase. The units are stylish in design, have good sound quality, and are worth more to me than what I paid for them.My only criticism of the speakers would be the volume adjustments. One "feature" of the speakers themselves are push-button volume adjusters...you must tap the increase volume/decrease volume buttons to adjust the sound. Not a lot of finite adjustment available; adjustment through the computer sound control is better. The sub-woofer volume adjustment is bullet-shaped and relatively small; difficult for my larger fingers to make delicate adjustments with. Their slick metal coating looks great, but makes it difficult to get a grip on.Overall, these are great speakers for the non audiophile who simply wants to enhance the stock system that came with their computer and isn't over sensitive about sound quality. My hearing isn't fantastic, so I cannot speak definitively about the quality, but there's no hum, no static and very little distortion at higher volumes/high bass levels...

still tinny after all this time! wanted to like them, desperately! but, you get what you pay for and these are all about design, not sound.
