Had these speakers for less than 6 mos. when the speakers stopped working. I could hear a little coming out of the sub-woofer but nothing else. I called JBL and they said send them back. it has been a month and I have not seen a replacement yet. Harmon/ JBL's customer service sucks and when you call them they will repeat the mantra that it will be another 2 weeks. obviously Harmon knows they have problems with these and they are just passifying the customer when they call in.I do not recommend buying these or any other Harmon product. if you need computer speakers, take a look at Altec Lansing.

I bought this nearly two years ago and it's still working like new. I wouldn't pay $150 for it though! I think I got mine for $70?They are certainly loud enough for me and the sound quality is good. Easy to set up and very durable (they've been moved around from house to house a lot!). I use the speakers when I need louder music then my laptop can provide or when I want to listen to my mp3 player. You have to be careful when setting the speakers up because if they arent plugged in just right there will be no sound (scary the first time it happens) but be patient and take the time to unplug everything and try again!The speakers look cool - the green lights underneath the speakers arent terribly bright and I would miss them if they were gone. I always get questions about them when people are over. Would recommend these!

Given the crappy sound systems usually put in laptops these days, these Creature II's are like a god-send in audio quality. You don't really hear the difference until you plug in the speakers, and then unplug to compare to the base audio unit in the laptop. The change is MIND-BLOWING. These speakers really pack a punch with crisp sound and a great design scheme. I especially like the small size of the speakers, simply because you can put them pretty much anywhere. I'm set up in a dorm here in college, and having a laptop plus these small speakers really saves space.Even with desktops, I'm sure these are a good alternative to the stock audio setups. But just like other reviewers, it should be emphasized that these are great COMPUTER speakers. I've hooked these up to my Xbox for Halo 3, and the bass is a good added component from just my TV audio, but they're not really designed to handle something like that. The main draw here is the price, and how well your laptop/desktop computer will sound after you plug these suckers in. Great product.

I bought these as a gift for a friend and once I heard them on her computer, I wanted to get them for mine as well. The price had shot back up after my gift purchase, so I waited. I tried Bose instead, they were really poor. Right when the Bose arrived the price temporarily dropped on these - I got them right away and returned the others. I use these with my iMac and the music sounds great - bass is great and I think they really provided stereo quality. Easy to set up, don't take up much space and they look good too.I'd recommend these to anyone.

First of all, disregard older complaints about losing volume settings. The current edition of Creature II (my box says model DW-607) no longer has that problem -- I powered the speakers on and off, and even unplugged them to verify that the last volume setting persisted across power cycles. In addition, specifications have improved slightly from those listed in the product description: freq response is now rated 45Hz-20KHz, satellite power is now 9W each, and subwoofer power is now 27W. While they were over $100 when first launched, you can now buy a set of Creature IIs for less than $50.I think these are a nice set of COMPUTER speakers for the money, but don't get caught up in some other reviewers' enthusiastic marks for sonics. Although the name JBL conjures connotations of home stereo audio bliss, these are definitely computer speakers, not home stereo speakers. Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) is rated at 10% -- while that is a typical number for inexpensive, powered speakers for computers, a middle of the road home stereo amp comes in at well under 1% THD. In addition, while the power rating seems high, at least compared to your home or car stereo, I've found that I wish I had a bit more headroom in the volume department. Max volume on these speakers is fine when you're sitting right in front of them, but you won't be able to hear them very well from the next room. In addition, I agree with other's complaints that the cross over at 180Hz is a rather rough transition -- it would have been a good idea to add a midrange knob to the existing bass and treble knobs, or to even trade the treble knob for a midrange. The sound is somewhat unnatural in the midrange unless you make some adjustments with an equalizer -- both iTunes and my iPod provide that feature, therefore, that wasn't a deal breaker for me.All that being said, these are definitely worth the $45 I paid, and a nice step up from the typical speakers that come bundled with computer systems. Just don't expect them to transform your computer into a home stereo system. They sound more like a good boom box.

It's absolutely perfect for a cubicle with a hard floor and partitions that absorb a lot of bass - this unit is WAY bass heavy. I was going to donate it to Goodwill after trying it in my apartment because it shakes the floor and the walls, but I set it up with the bass unit under my desk at work and it's ideal.

I was looking to "upgrade" my office speakers. To be honest the speakers at my office were barely speakers. With music being very important to me I wanted my iPod to sing with more life. I avoid most of the "i" products because they all have the "convenient" docking stations. I keep my iPod in a protective rubber case and don't feel like removing it often if at all.Anyhow, the JBL Creatures are simply awesome! If you're looking for speakers for your home or home office you'd be hard pressed to find a better set for the price. Clear sound and deep, strong lows. It's definitely capable of more than my office calls for but every now and again I get to crank it when I'm stuck working late. The unique look is certainly a statement on my desk. If you're too timid these might not be for you. I'm very happy with my purchase and would definitely buy another set should anything happen to them.

I got this item from J&R and boy, after managing to hook everything together, the sound output that came through it was awesome! One thing I noticed about it though was its inability to fully support synthesized music (the likes of Raindancer, Depeche Mode, Cause & Effect, Red Flag plus many other hard-bass loops) because it easily quit delivering any sound longer than one track. I guess it only plays for Pop music that aren't hard hitters. But, as a whole, I had fun with it.Update: June 20, 2011I found out that you should always use it to keep working. I left them unplugged on the shelf for the last ten months because I switched to headphones for my DJ mixing gigs and when I tried using them during one of my breaks, the two satellite speakers quit on me. It's just the subwoofer that lights up now. tsk.

My friend has these speakers in black and they are fantastic for watching movies on a laptop. So I ordered them on Amazon and was wondering why these where so much cheaper than the black ones. The white ones don't work! The sub-woffer would have a faint sound coming from it but the two little side speakers would not work at all and the light below would not come on. I have hooked up my friends black ones many, many times with no problems. Sent them back for an exchange, since I really liked the ones that my friend had. But the second ones had the very same problem! This must be why the white ones are so much cheaper than the other colors. This is one of the best speaker system that I have ever heard for the size...just stay far away from the white ones. However, Amazon was fantastic with the returns. They are one of the best that I have seen and made it easy. And another thing that Allen said on October 7, 2007 that I might not have done, push them in hard until you hear the "click." I pushed them in hard but maybe not hard enough. Thanks Allen for this tip.

I purchased these speakers December 2007 to give to my son for Christmas, to go with his new iPod. We have other JBL speakers, which are incredible, so that's why I decided to go with these. My son and I just set up his speakers yesterday, and they do sound quite good (this is in a somewhat small bedroom. He thinks they are very "cool" looking, and the touch volume controls, and funky but handy bass and treble controls add to the "cool" factor. I do have one complaint, though, and that is that the on/off button is on the back, so I find that inconvenient to get to. We had to angle the big thing (can't think of the name!) so that it would be easier to reach the button. He doesn't mind, and they're his, so he's happy. All in all, a great product for $41!

For about $40 you can get decent sounding speakers, but these don't have sound you can find in comparably priced speakers. I think you can do better than these... You would expect something with a subwoofer to be able to really kick out sound. These don't.If you're more picky about the looks, AND if you intend to use these for your personal use when you sit 3 feet away, and if you're not trying to fill a room with sound, then you won't be disappointed with these.But if you're picky about sound, skip these and go with something from Altec Lansing... or spend more money and get some Harmon Kardon SoundSticks. I have the HK Sound Sticks (about $100 more) and have never been disappointed.

When this does seem like a great deal it is not. I can not imagine anyone spending 129.99 for these speakers. Even at the $38.89 price point it is a ripoff. The first think I noticed when I got the speakers is how small they were. They sound exactly like they look. They produce no mid range what so ever. Even changing the equalizer on the computer could not make up for the lack of power the speakers had. Nothing sounds good out of the speakers and i tend to find myself using my laptop speakers over the Creature IIs because the sound quality is so bad.Also a side note. The controls on the sub woofer are backwards. To turn the bass or the treble up you turn towards the "-" and to turn them down you turn towards the "+". This is a great example about the excellent quality of these horrible horrible speakers.

I had these speakers for a few years and paid full price at the time. When I saw that Amazon was selling them for so much less I decided to pick up a spare set just in case I blew out the first. I have had the first set for 4 years now. I noticed that a few people had trouble hooking up the speakers. It has been mentioned already but I want to repeat it - the plugs have a specific configuration to plug in fully and as long as you do that the speakers work just fine. Setting it up is a breeze. The sound is much better than what I get from the built ins in the iMac. That is why I bought these speakers in the first place. I do get some distortion when played very loud and especially with lots of base. I have gotten used to the "creature" appearance. The speakers are small and have a good cord length if you need to place them some distance from the computer. All in all I would rate this speaker system as a best buy.

I already owned a set of these speakers, and wanted another set for another room. I use them for my XM Radio, my iPod, as well as my computer. The quality is great, considering the price! The bass is good on the sub-woofer. The audio quality is great for both music as well as audiobooks, so these little guys are pretty versatile. Since there's a little light under the speaker to let you know the power is on, an added benefit is that it doubles as a nightlight!I would love to be able to buy additional little speakers so I could litter the room and create a surround-sound experience or to be able to branch off and add a speaker (or two) to an additional room.Shipper was great - prompt shipping, professional service.

I work in radio and am a bit picky about my audio. I love these speakers. They're cheap-Supposedly they retail at about $100, but i've never seen them advertised for that. Ever. Shop around. Everyone has a deal on them-just find the best one.The design is lovely, the sound can surround you. The little LEDs illuminate your desk (although you don't really see the one on the big base unit because it's supposed to illuminate the wall behind it or something and it just doesn't work out that way.I have them in red. They come in lots of colors.You can plug them into your computer, your ipod... whatever your little heart desires really.The downside? wires. oh my lord the wires. there are a lot of them. That's a bit of a problem, but you probably have a million other wires on your desk too so what's a few more?

the 100's of glowing reviews vs. the single digit bad reviews should sum up this product. I believe the reviewers who complained that a speaker didn't work hadn't connected them properly to the subwoofer, as I had at first. the plugs have a specific shape that will only fit one way- and if they aren't aligned, you won't get the second 'click' of a true connection. Once i discovered that, i've been enjoying this system endlessly. the sound for such a small unit is amazing. you can hear the bass outside the house on a fairly low setting. i'ts great for Dub and other deep, rolling music. The small speakers could be considered a little 'tinny' if you get right up to them, but when placed properly as a whole, the three speakers blend together and sound flawless. Hooked up to my Mac with no problems.great find, great price, get one while you can, i'm thinking about a second unit for the TV.

I was very apprehensive about this product at first because of the price reduction here on Amazon. I figured that they had to be horrible speakers to be marked down so drastically.I just received my speakers in the mail and set them up in my classroom. I was surprised at how well these small speakers filled my classroom with decent sound. From the size and price I did not expect this nice of sound. I bought these for my classroom computer and to my surprise they fill the entire classroom.For Under $40 these speakers are well worth it! Deep Base that can be adjusted, easy set up, and good clear sound. (Lets hope they don't break in a week!)UPDATE- After listening closely, I was able to hear a slight crackle in the speakers. The crackle is very very subtle and a listener has to listen extremely carefully at certain times to hear it. (I would still buy these speakers without hesitation)

These speakers rock, literally. For being so small, packed with a 9 inch sub -- it creates a great sound for the buck. Compared to other products similar with the same price range, I'd say you can't beat these Creature II speakers from JBL. Creates a nice bass sound, makes your music comes alive -- "is it live or is it"....jbl Creature II? lol, a play on memorex's slogan, but it's true here -- the sound quality is great.The down side is plugging in can be a little troublesome if your too careful. When i first plugged my satellites to the sub, they didn't work. I was at first discouraged, but I read what JBL said about the problem -- and I wasn't pushing the plug in all the way. You will hear a "click", and keep pushing until you do. Otherwise, you will be heart broken when you plug these suckers in!Otherwise, these are easy to use and easy to plug in. :-D

I considered the Encounter set before deciding to try these. Something about 2 aliens looking at you all the time just isn't right. Plus the Encounter bass unit is 50cm high! Too big for my tastes.Other reviews mention lack of midrange and they're right. Of course there is no mid-speaker, so it was no surprise. I'm a musician and audio recording engineer and can hear subtleties pretty well.The packing box is compact. The bass/base unit is on the top, the satellites & accessories are in the bottom. Everything is wrapped in plastic, so don't expect instant gratification. The power brick is BIG: 6x7x10cm. Each satellite connector has a different shape so be sure you rotate it for a proper fit.The right satellite has the volume controls. I was able to detect 30 discrete steps between max volume and completely muted using the satellite controls. The up button makes a TAP sound when you click it, the down button makes a TICK. Hitting both at once mutes or restores the sound, and works reliably. I set it to max minus 3 clicks, then ran the volume from the Mac.The bass/base unit controls seem a bit consumer-ish: not flimsy but not entirely smooth and solid. The power button is on the back. The volume controls for both bass (left side) and treble (right) have a detent at the middle (5) point. I set each to about (6), then fired up iTunes.I used 4 types of music to test: a cappella, pipe organ, industrial/electronic, and jazz. Each genre has highs, lows, dynamic range, and overtone interaction for evaluation of harmonics. I set flat equalizer at -12 to see where the bass crossed over to midrange by pushing each slide *one at a time* to +12. You get the bass unit *only* at 32, 64, 125, and 250hz. You get treble *only* at 1k, 2k, 4k, 8k, and 16khz. The 500hz slider is the only crossover point! Normally there's a bit more EQ range for the mids, but the isolation between satellites and bass is almost total.Normally my EQ settings are set like the Amazon swoosh - looks like a smile (try Classical or Rock in iTunes to see what I mean). Based on my testing, I pushed up at 500 and 1khz and got a really nice overall setting. Here's my new "Creature" preset: 32=+6, 64=+3, 125=+1.5, 250=0, 500=+7.5, 1k=+3, 2k=0, 4k=+1.5, 8k=+3, 16k=+4.5.I will never play these speakers even at half volume while sitting in front of them. So I set iTunes volume to 50% and control the Mac's volume directly. About 3 blocks out of the Mac's 16 is perfect for just sitting here. I bump it up to about 7 blocks for working around the office. Anything louder my wife insists needs to go on the home stereo. So points for volume impact.The cats don't mind the new bass or enhanced treble. The green LEDs on the satellites are a lot less intrusive than I expected, but I'm still going to hack them and solder in blue ones eventually to match everything else. Overall they're a keeper with a point each for looks, price, sound (bass/volume), and simplicity, and 1/3 point off each for midrange, consumerish controls, and power brick.

I bought these speakers for my parents and they think they are the greatest things since sliced bread. They do sound good and the price from Amazon was terrific. Why only 4 stars? To my ears, the bass is a little muddy even with the control turned down to a very low setting and compared to the Klipsch Promedia 2.1's that I purchased for myself from Amazon and they do not sound quite as good. However, the Promedia's are much more expensive and physically much larger. The JBL's are an excellent value for the money.

Harmon Audio (which owns the JBL brand) has to be one of the worst companies ever for customer service. I bought a set of these Creature II speakers directly from them and they arrived DOA. OK -- I know this happens from time to time, and I shouldn't get too upset at having waited for the speakers to arrive by UPS, unpacked them, and set them up only to find that they don't work. Disconnecting everything, repacking everything, and taking it all down to UPS for return would be a tolerable inconvenience except for this:Harmon Audio/JBL requires that the customer get a return authorization from them before returning defective merchandise. At the same time, Harmon/JBL makes it virtually impossible to connect with someone at their company to get that RA. Their telephone service system is so bad that it makes calling AOL to cancel seem like a pleasant experience. The number you have to call is a long distance toll call. You have to navigate multiple menus and then speak to various representatives who route your call elsewhere, and ultimately you are put on infinite hold and given the opporunity to leave a recorded message which nobody ever responds to.If you go to their web site and are clever enough to find where you can leave them a written message, that will be an excercise in futility -- for they don't bother to respond there either.Consumers -- this kind of service speaks of nothing but contempt for us. Let us all stop patronizing companies that display this kind of attitude.

I got these from Amazon at a great price and for what I payed they work great. The bass is surprisingly strong and pretty clear (no noticeable distortion from what I can tell). The mid to highs could be better, but they're good enough. Really, for the money these would cost you now, you would be pretty hard pressed to find a better quality speaker.For the normal person wanting to listen to music while working or browsing on the internet I would definitely recommend these. They look great and sound pretty good too.For real audiophiles I would suggest putting up the extra bucks for a better quality system. I don't think you'll be happy with the quality of the mids and highs.

JBL CREATURE 2 TOTALLY RULEZI recieved this speakers in a timely manner and fell.........totally in love with these beautiful and great sounding speakers. I have a iMac 24" Desktop and these look like they were made for it . I am not a huge fan of "white" electronics but after I purchased my iMac I couldn't help but to think they did something right here , now I need to accessorize my Mac, and JBL is doing that beautifully. WholeSaleAV sent the speakers quickly and look forward to future purchases through this retailer.

These speakers were a great choice. As an avid music fan, I was a little bit skeptical at the low price, as there is usually a strong correlation between speaker quality and price. These, however, seem to buck that trend.The bass is great. The included subwoofer looks tremendously cool, and is something of a sculpture in addition to functioning marvelously. The deep bass is registered fantastically.The satellite speakers also have a great degree of clarity, especially in the higher range. The mid-tones are also solid, but sometimes lack a little fullness.Also, remember, these speakers are only part of a three piece set. There is no option to expand to include surround sound speakers in the future.Still, for an iPod or computer speakers, you really can't go wrong with these.

do not buy these speakers. amazon clearly knows there's a problem. i received the first set, nothing out of the left speaker, like a lot of other reviews mentioned. after returning those, a second set was shipped to me.. same problem. the thing is, you can't just swap the speakers and use, say, two right speakers because the volume control is on the right satellite and also the connectors are different. triangular connector on the left, square on the right. amazon's customer service is in the process of refunding my money at which point i will do what i should have done in the first place, pay more and get something decent. there's a reason these speakers are $40.

These are so great! I saw them in the Apple store about two years ago for a lot more money. For $40 on Amazon they were a super deal, which I pride myself on finding. I am really picky, but the are so pleasing to the eye! Can you believe it... speakers that double as sculptural elements?!The sound quality is quite good, especially if you're used to speakers without a sub-woofer. The volume goes up quite high. I haven't even felt the need to turn them up enough to be at full blast. I will be using them with my laptop as well as my iPod. They will be replacing my big home stereo, which I've hardly used since I got my iPod anyway.The power cord has quite a large "brick" attached. I hope I can hide it behind my desk or TV stand. Also, the on button is in a pretty awkward place (behing the sub-woofer, among all the cords). I don't understand why they didn't put it on the left speaker where the volume buttons are on the right one. Still, I love them!

I bought these speakers based on the excellent reviews that it received from other uses. I cannot understand why it is rated so high. There is practically no mid range sound in the speakers. The subwoofer and the two speakers handled the low and high frequency sounds but the voice in songs is not present at all. On a normal rock song the singer was heard faint from a distance while in music predominated by vocals I cannot hear much except squeaks. No amount of tweaking with the bass and treble knobs or the equalizer in my computer could fix the problem. I am returning the product for a refund.

I bought this for my hubby for Christmas, he loves the speaker set. The quality of the music is so much better coming from our PC. The bass especially. It's also such a good brand/quality for the price.My hubby is very picky & loves anything electronic so if he is happy I AM SURE everyone will be happy w/ this buy.

I've always been a fan of JBL speakers, but this Creature thing is a huge disappointment. In short, the speaker system only provides highs and lows. There is no midrange sound to speak of. I had to close my eyes and fiddle with the treble and bass controls for a good 5 mins before I could justify not returning it (too much trouble). To be honest, I get better sound out of my Altec Lansing portable speaker set than I do out of the JBL Creature.Big disappointment.

This is a perfect example of the variety of values that are frequently available at Amazon. The JBL speaker system delivers excellent quality soundfor all kinds of music. The price was substantially below the original list price. It was easy to search the website to find a list of PC speaker systems that Amazon had available for sale.

I bought these speakers from AMAZON in 2004. Not only do they still work, but they are the best value and sound quality out there. The bass is deep and the overall sound is full. I use the speakers with my laptop and my Nano. I no longer use a stero. I've considered upgrading to the Bose sound-dock but as I type this, I'm listening to Sise via my Creature speakers and no longer feel the need to upgrade. I will use these speakers as long as they last. It was one of the wisest purchases I've ever made.

I bought these speakers for my Zune, which I also recently purchased off Amazon. When I first pulled it out of the box, I was skepticle that it would be quiet, given the size of the sattelites. But after I plugged it in, I soon realized just how big of a sound it was capable of producing. The bass is booming, yet not distorted. I don't understand how some reviewers can say it has poor mid range. They obviously need to play with the volume controls coming from the source, rather than the actual audio system.

ordered these because my old ones were having constant static noise coming from them, and didnt want to shell out too much money for new speakers. at $50, you wont really find anything better.the touch volume buttons are awesome and the green led's one the bottoms of the speakers create a nice effect.highly recommended for those looking for new speakers on a budget!

i dunno y every one is rating these things so high. my integrated lap top speakers are literally LOUDER then these speakers. o wow, this deal comes with a sub woofer....big deal! im like sooo serious, this is retarded. they are so quiet its not even funny. my dad has the Logitech Z-4 and they work great. i say cough up the extra money and go for some speakers that actually have some sort of amplifier.

For the price I paid (~$50 incl. shipping), I can't imagine a better set of speakers for my computer. They're portable: small enough to put in a suitcase and bring to a hotel room, but the sub still cranks out a lot of clean bass. They look cool, and the green lights under the satellites are functional as well as aesthetic: they let you know whether the speakers are on or not. Amazing sound for the price. The interface is great. All of the controls keep you from fumbling around too much with volume and levels in iTunes and on the computer. They aren't THX certified, they aren't for movie-loving audiophiles, but for most applications, for MUSIC, and for the price, these are perfect.

I got this on sale for $40 and am very happy with it. It does not have a huge sound but the sound quality is very clear for a $40 speakers/woofer set. It's enough to fill a small home office or a bedroom. It's not worth the original $200+ price tag as you can find better deals and louder sound from other manufacturers, but if you can find these on sale (they are discontinued I believe), then by all means get them. They'll be among the best $40 speakers you can buy.

Listening a JBL system is always a pleasure and this system is simply amazing.....wonderful choice for those wanting a quality sound with a great (low) price....I would recommend this system to anyone.....

For the size and the price these are an astounding find. I have two sets in my house now. They sound like a much bigger system with great bass response and a crisp top end. Controls are easy to use and help fine tune the sound well. Position and spacing are critical when you get them. The woofer needs a nice flat surface to show its true range. The little guys need to be at least a foot from the woofer but arranged in this manner they will do great things. Creature speakers may represent a silly moment in industrial design that recent iMacs are hopefully the end of. They are white and bulbous but they are nicely engineered to do far more than you would expect them to.

i bought these speakers because the speakers on my laptop are terrible. for 40$, i really couldn't ask for anything better. the speakers are really fun to look at and they sound great. i haven't run into any issues yet and they seem to be in good working condition. i love that they light up as well and the whole system is pretty portable and small. it's definitely a good sound system for a college student.

Bought these for my teenage daughter and she couldnt be happier. When I first unpacked we were very concerned about the small size, but once plugged in, I couldnt be happier with the sound quality in her room. Good bass and style as well. Very easy setup.

I wanted to get a pair of decent speakers to take to work to use with my iPod. There were so many out there with good reviews. I bought the JBL Creature II speakers and a set of Logitech x-230 speakers. The JBL speakers blew the Logitech speakers out of the water! For the power, size and price I didn't expect much; however, they pump out some serious sound...with great distinct highs and lows. The bass and treble controls provide and added control bonus, and they have a mute feature which is almost unheard of for this category of speakers! By far, these are the best speakers you could get for this price!! Not to mention the awesome look, you just cannot go wrong with these speakers!

Avoid. I KNEW I should have bought the HK Soundsticks instead! This is what I get for buying this POS... Shipping [not to mention packing!] to ship this back to the West Coast [I'm in Sucklanta] for warranty service would be a PITA....I guess I'll just throw them in the trash :(

These speakers are just amazing. The bass cranks! Makes my whole room shake with 1 click of the dial on my keyboard (10% power). I bought these for 32$ a month ago. They were so good I bought another one for 50$. They are really worth it. They are cool looking and sound great.

Overall this system has been rated pretty high on Amazon so it's not going to be easy to dissuade you from buying them. You really cant go wrong for the price. For 50 bucks they are very good buy. I paid over 100 for them at compusa. My gripe with the system is that there is no mid range at all. Not surprising since they only come with 2 tweeters and a sub, thus no midrange. The bass also sounds muddy to me and the tweeters are a bit to shrill for my taste. If your not really a big music fan and dont have a good ear for music they probably wont disappoint you at all. They are loud enough for most and match my iMac nicely, I have the white ones. I'm thinking about an upgrade to a Mac Pro and If I do go for it I'm defiantly going to look for better speakers. I'm a bit of an audiophile and a hack musician (I play guitar) so these do not meet my standards. They've worked for a year and half now, no problems. I actually moved them once with no problems. I've read reviews that say they have stopped working by just moving the system. Bottom line is if you dont want to spend a lot of money on speakers and dont mind somewhat of a subpar sound these will probably fit the bill for you. If your looking for better quality sound look else where. You'll spend more money but you get what you pay for. Lets face it your not going to get a hi fidelity system for 50 or the 100 bucks that I paid for them. I give them 3 stars for the value.
