I purchased this new....paid full price...used printer twice...and after returning from my trip (4 months)printer is not working...dried up...even purchasing new inks (over $70)is not doing the job....Epson is not helping....they ask me if I want to donate printer for re-cycle...HA HA...so you could sell this to some other sucker....NO MORE EPSON !!!!

Don't buy this printer if you want to print more than 500 CDs in its lifetime. After about 250 CDs, the tray mechanism became impossible to deal with. The rollers would no longer pull the tray in on their own, so I ended up having to stand there and feed the tray through for every single CD. Then, when the printing was done, I'd have to manually pull the tray out myself, or the printer would go into reset mode and take 2 minutes to restart. This printer is a lemon, and I wouldn't recommend anyone purchasing it.

This printer is horrible, simply horrible. I bought it because of a rebate offer which made the stupid thing cheap. I'm still waiting for the rebate months later. Hello, Epson? That would be okay if the printer was good. But this printer sucks ink like I've never seen; the initial black cartridge lasted for about 15 pages, no kidding! The refills cost a FORTUNE, you have to change multiple colors, it is never aligned right, cheap ink doesn't work well, and it uses all the colors to print black/white (no idea why). DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PRINTER! YOU WILL REGRET PURCHASING THIS PRINTER!

It does a really nice job. I use the white printable discs and the print colors come out pretty good. It takes 3 minutes (or just over) to print one disc. I've printed about 50 DVDs so far and all have printed without a hitch. I've even used the printer to print a few color docs and they too are very nice. The one thing I dislike is that you have to remove the disc printing board, or holder, when you turn the printer off. If you try to turn the printer on with the board in place, you get an error telling you to remove it. So if you use the printer mainly for disc printing, as I do, it becomes a bit of a hassle. I've found that it doesn't seem to use ink any more than any of my ink just printers, though the Epson inks are very expensive (they should be giving the printer away for free, and they wonder why we look for "compatible" inks). I'm pleased with the printer and glad I got it. I was going to get the new 800, but for the price, this does what I need and, unless the printing time is considerably shorter, I'm glad I have the extra $200 for ink.

I do like this printer and I have a Mac running OSX 10.3. The R300 just turns out superior prints--as simple as that. I didn't have any problems installing it and it's worked like a dream from day one. The blacks are black--and the colors great. I also use Adobe Photoshop and the colors are pretty true. I did purchase the Blue Tooth dongle for wireless printing but for photos that's way too slow. I have not tried other types of wireless printing. This is just a great overall printer--.

I have had this printer for several months and can't wait for it to break down irretrievably so I have an excuse to buy another. No matter how often I run the cleaning utility, I can't get a clean printout -- pages appear with blank lines and streaks. (And no, we're not printing in draft mode, and we do keep the printer closed when not in use.)

Granted, I have only had the EPSON Stylus C84 for about a month. But so far, the printer seems to work okay. The item was graciously provided by my employer, so I did not have much choice as to which printer I could use.Considering the price of under $60.00, the printer seems to be a good bargain for the money. The print quality and speed seems to be fine. The only complaint I have is that the printer takes a while to set itself up for printing once you plug it in. This has taken some getting used to since other printers I have owned had quicker setup times.As indicated by other reviewers, the ink cartridge replacement can be pretty costly. Due to the short time I've had the printer, I have not encountered this situation. Therefore, I am not in a position to judge the cost and how long the cartridges last compared to other printers.All in all, the printer seems to be a good product for the short time I have had it. Only time will tell whether my current review will stay the same.

Had to replace the black cartridge after a week and a half of light usage. New black cartridge is small and cost $25. Fortunately the old printer is still in the garage and can be brought back. This one is going in the trash when the replacement cartridge runs out. Printer is quiet and prints with good quality.Cost of the printer was low due to rebate so it was not too bad to try comething new even if ink cost is not satisfactory. However, it seems that manufacturers should disclose ink usage rate and capacity before the purchase.

Epson's DuraBrite inks print beautifully, I have to admit, and the printer itself is quiet and fast. However, the reasonable price and colorfast pigment inks are offset by horrendous clogging problems and high usage for the (really not effective) print head cleaning cycles. I have seen numerous problem reports on this and other Epson series printers that use the DuraBrite inks (whether OEM or compatible doesn't seem to be the issue)- it is much harder to keep the nozzles clear on this than my old Stylus Color 740. Also, many people have had problems with the ink pump hoses detaching after the first cartridge replacement. Too bad, I really liked it when it worked.

I've never written a review before but I figgure Epson needs a little BAD press. I Have owned a C84 and C86, both printers print very crisp images when the print heads aren't clogged. I've wasted soooo much money on ink (Cleaning the heads) that my Epson buying days are over. Don't be fooled on the low price the Ink will cost you. Even if you buy off-label ink.

I was very pleased with the quality and performance with this printer. I've had it about 8 months now and it won't work at all. I put all new cartridges in and ran out all the ink trying to unclog the print head. How do they get the ink to come out during the cleaning process but not on the paper when trying to print something. Epson has poor tech support that they try to charge you for. This printer is a waste of money! Don't buy! Trust me, don't buy an Epson C-84.

I totally agreed with all the reviews about the C80, I would like to ask if EPSON could help by printing on the Manual book: this printer does not last long. Buy at your own risk. It would help !!!

I bought this printer because i wasn't looking for extremely high quality, i just wanted something to print out the occasional color print and mostly black ink spreadsheets and documents. it turns out that when one color ink runs out, YOU CAN'T EVEN PRINT IN BLACK INK ONLY!!!!!! Why should i have to spend money on color ink i am not going to use just so i can print stuff in black ink??????????

I bought this printer because of the cd printing capabilities - which are awesome, IF you are running OS 10.3 or earlier. If you have installed 10.3.4 or higher, the cd printing shifts out of alignment and CANNOT BE ADJUSTED. At the time of writing this, Epson is still sporting the 1.7bA driver - which was released in October 2003 and was written for Jaguar.I've been through technical support, I've had them swap out the printer for a new one, I've had friends with powerbooks come over and they had the same problem - untilI figured out that the problem began when I updated to 10.3.4 and I had a friend come over who still hadn't updated, and lo and behold - it printed fine.I must agree that the ink is expensive and that it runs through it pretty fast - but other than that - it prints beautifully - and the cd's look awesome. But they won't look awesome for me or anyone else who is running an up to date OS until they spice up their driver. All that to say, if youre a mac user, check the epson website to see if they've updated the driver before you buy this!

I can't remember when it started going bad but it was less than 1 year. I keep cleaning the heads and it works for about 10 pages then they need cleaning again. I print online postage and I am always worried because lines are going through the addresses and postal amounts. Bye Bye Epson.

Photo quality was very good to excellent. Overall, however, this printer was an incredible disappointment. When my Epson 750 started to go downhill after a few years I bought this for my department, thinking it would be a good replacement. Well it's good when it prints which is about 30% of the time. 70% of the time, for no reason whatsoever, it would print 10-70% of the document and then simply stop -- as if ordered to do so by some higher power. I have no idea why. Nothing in the manual explained this. I reinstalled the driver and other software dozens of times. Our computer techs at work could not figure it out. Advice from the Epson support staff suggested installing the ink monitor software which we did -- none of this worked. Sometimes, after reinstalling the driver the printer would print 10 pages (of mostly image layout drafts) successfully then start to do its usual stopping in the middle of a document. What's the point of owning something that does this?

Don't be fooled by the "six-color separate ink cartridge" baloney. Epson does not let you print if one of the cartridges is low. I mean what's the point? I replaced the black cartridge and then wanted to do a nozzle check, but it wouldn't let me because the light magenta cartridge was low, so I had to wind up replacing that one as well--then the cyan cartridge wasn't full enough--I ended up replacing four of the six cartridges just to do a nozzle check print!! I am so sick and tired of this crap!! Epson is in the business of selling ink not printers! It's a worthless piece of junk!!

This printer lasted just over one year before all of the print heads clogged. Naturally, the warranty had just expired. I won't ever buy an Epson again. Quality has declined rapidly in recent years. Buyers beware of the new C86 printer as well. Same basic printer. Same basic problems.

I recently bought this printer and I am very satisfied with the performance. The installation was easy, it was hooked and ready in 5 min.The regualr text prints are of excellent clarity and good speed.The ink cartridges are used very efficiently and the colors are in individual cartridges, I printed around 30 4x6 prints the first day and I hardly noticed any change in the levels of ink.But it takes around 3 - 5 min to print a 4x6. I have not used other printers so, I cannot compare. But it is slower than what I expected the speed to be.Also, I had to increase the brightness of the image by 20 - 30 % using the photo editing software to get a good print. My camera is Nikon 3200 and the editing software I used was ACDsee view.Overall, I am very satisfied with the performance of the printer. I would recommend this to anybody I know for their home.

I have had this printer for just over a year and I must say that I am not all that impressed. All the photos I print (from several different programs) are all dark. I constantly have problems loading DVDs into the printer. Just yesterday it took me 8 attempts to successfully print 1 DVD. And this thing eats ink.

Maybe I am having bad luck..The first one quit printing yellow and Mag after the first cartridges ran out...Bought new epson ones and ran clean utility probably 10 times.. called Epson and they agreed and sent a new one...Now today it is doing the same thing, ink shows 20% full so to be safe I installed new cartridges all around..No change in color... I will be back on the phone with Epson tomorrow. But when it works it looks great..Perfect quality and color.

This is absolutely a fantastic printer for digital pictures. The colors are crisp, it uses 6 different color inks which give it much broader range in the colors it can make. The DPI is outstanding and it is very easy to use. You can either put a memory card (or stick or whatever medium you use) or you can connect your camera directly to the printer via a USB 2.0 cable OR you can put the pictures on your computer first, edit them, and then print them from there (recommended way).My only problem with it is that it goes through ink fast! Now that might just be how these printers are but man, the ink is expensive and you have 6 different colors to maintain (however since all of the inks are seperate, if you run out of black you can just replace the black ink, it eliminates a LOT of waste when you still might have some magenta or yellow or cyan left but out of black, before you'd have to just throw that away) and they're about $20 each, from what i've seen. You can probably print out about 50-60 pictures b4 you'd need more ink so bear that in mind. But remember, you only print out the pictures that you like so it's a good trade off.Highly recommend this printer, but be ready to mortgage your house to buy some ink.

O.k., so the printer is pretty fast, but that is the only good thing about it.It does not keep its alignment more than one or two pages, so there are always lines in any document with a solid area. And mine makes these lovely puddles of ink inside the machine, which smears all over the place. Even after cleaning it up, it smears ink all over the next 5 pages printed. And forget any meaningful technical support for either of these problems. Lastly, after I'm told the ink is empty, the container still sounds like it has a fair amount of ink left. This was my first and last Epson.

I've had the R300 for 3 or 4 months now. Initially I almost returned it because the photos came out terrible. They were blotched and blurry. It turns out that I had to make adjustments with the print settings, namely the paper type. After having the correct settings, I got great pictures. Unlike other reviewers, I my experience with the ink cartidges has not been bad. Perhaps I just don't print as many photos or very large photos. My only complaint is that even when set for gray-scale and fastest the R300 takes a longer time printing than I would like. Overall, I am very satisfied with the quality and value of the R300.
