I have owned this printer for over 6 months, run over 200 cd's through it and they all printed without any problems. I'm sorry to hear some other users had problems. Has been working great for me. I recomended it to a co-worker and he has had no problems with his either...

I bought this so I could print on dvd's. I can't believe how cheep this is designed. The manual disc feed tray worked twice and now it will not feed! Constant errors. I have never been so frustrated with a piece of equipment!I can't believe Epson has gone down hill so much. Anyone know if HP is going to make a disk printer?

This printer produces the most beautiful prints I've ever seen. They look better than come out of a camera store. However to get each out I go through about 10-15 paper jams and printer errors FOR EVERY PICTURE, every time. Terrible.

I have used the C84 extensively and found that there is no other printer for this price that would give you such good results. One of the great things about the C84 is that it has separate ink tanks for each color. That adds to a lot of savings since you can refill or change each tank separately. Printing with a C84 is simple, the options are many, from basic b&w printing to fine color photos with super microweave, color sync etc. Overall, a wonderful printer for the price, much better than more expensive printers.

The Photo R300 is easy to use, provides wonderful pictures, and can be used for decent text, too. If you develop technical problems, technical support is quick to provide complete instructions to help you rectify them. The machine is very convenient, allowing you to print directly from your computer or from a variety of photo chip sizes. It is also easy to figure out how to add or subtract photo info, change the size of your pics, etc. (I am one of those "skip the manual" people!). The ONLY drawback, in my point of view, is yes, the printer does eat through ink at a pretty rapid rate. However, you can't expect professional color and quality without using lots of ink - it just isn't going to happen, folks! If you want really cheap prints, send them to an online store. If you want to be able to do nifty things at home (Christmas letters with text and pictures mixed, anyone? Iron-on transfers of the Grandkids as Christmas persents?), this is the printer for you. And BTW, I bought mine two years ago and wrote this review because I glaced through some negative write-ups and wanted to set the record straight! Good luck, and happy photographing.

I have been through three C86 printers under warrenty all having the same problem clogged head assembly. Cleaned, replaced and ran self tests until the cows did come home and the swell tech support of course stated the obvious " Since it is not under warrenty I can reccomend a service site you can have it repaired at" I said no I'm buying an HP after eight years of buying Epson. Quaility is gone with Epson and if you do buy this get the extended warrenty since you will be swapping it out every three months.

When this printer actually decides to work, it works great. It takes a longer-than average time to think, send the ink back and forth and get itself all adjusted before it starts printing the job. Once it finally gets going, it is quick and clear. The most annoying thing about this printer is that if ANY of the ink cartridges run out, it refuses to print anything, even if you tell it to print in black-only mode (when for example the yellow has run out). The HP inkjet printers I've used don't do this.It does seem like the ink doesn't dry up as quickly as HP inkjet cartridges, but maybe I just can't tell the difference between dry vs. empty Epson cartridges.Lastly, one quick tip: If you get strange blurred or double-image print, make sure your paper input tray is full. This printer has this little quirk when the paper level is down at just a few sheets.

I bought this printer specifically for the printable CD utility and it has been nothing but trouble from the outset. It makes marks all over the printable media and will only print one at a time before spitting it out and needing to be turned off and on again before settling down. I have had a replacement unit from Epson and spent countless hours on the phone with them but it still hasn't solved my problem. Now they want me to go 50 miles to a service center so they can test it on a PC (I have a mac) before they tell me that it is a fault with my computer, but I am just going to bag my $89 and not ever buy an Epson again. I think it might work okay with PC's but it just isn't working with OSX and this is what the Epson staff have also told me. Mac users, beware

This printer was fine when it worked, but like everyone else says,the inks stopped printing one at a time, even after replacing them and running all the diagnostics.I replaced it with an hp 5440.don't buy an epson printer- they fall apart FAST

You get what you pay for! 200 means the amounts of Disks it will print before failure, the Plastic Disk shelve that you need to feed into the printer is not well designed. The flexible plastic wings bend and wear I'm at my wits end and am looking for another method to print my disks Stay away fro this poorly made product.

This printer broke down after a month of use. The CD tray is awkward and was problematic as soon as I bought it. It will get you frustrated and its very slow. And with the 6 ink containers, it can cost you $75 just to refill. The software is poorly written and tells you that you can print 20 more pages when they really only mean 1. Honestly, after 2 months, I threw it out and bought another printer.

Just like everyone else...this printer does not print. Black is out and the cartridge is full. I would never buy another Epson printer ever again. I can not get past the reset of the printer and i am too afraid to buy another cartridge. I hope People stop buying Epson. They should recall this product.

I've been pleased with the scanning and print quality of my Epson and I like the built-n card reader but ink usage is atrocious and environmentally unsustainable.As other reviewers have noted the machine will insist on replacing ink cartridges that clearly have ink remaining in them (you can hear it sloshing around when you shake them). If you remove a cartridge to check it and then replace it the machine will reject it and insist it too be replaced. What a rort!

after only a short period of time, I began running out of colored inks (magenta, cyan, etc.) I changed my printer settings to 'print black ink only'. this slowed the color ink drainage down, but did NOT stop it. even printing black ink only YOUR COLORED INKS WILL RUN OUT.also, the printer will not print at all (including 'black ink only') if ANY of the inks are empty. (even if they aren't going to be used.)you will find this terribly annoying. and at 12 dollars a cartridge, you will soon feel cheated.

I really liked my printer, until I have been trying to print with just black ink, because I knew a few colors were out...well, it won't let me print in even just Black ink (which I have almost a full cartridge) because one or more of the colored cartridges are empty. So, if you want to spend a fortune in ink...buy this printer....because all it does is suck my ink. I am looking for a new printer, because I am dissapointed in this printer. Also, the photo printing is difficult to use. You have to be a computer guru to get it to print out 4x6 photos correctly.

It's just CRIMINAL what they do!!! I just replaced the cartridges, I probably printed 4 pictures and it has no ink again. The worst part is that with previous models you had to replace 4 cartridges, now you have to replace 6!!, so every time you try to print there is always 1 cartridge that is running out of ink. Do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY from this printer. I am NEVER buying an epson AGAIN!!! I gave it one star because there is no option for 0. Thieves!!

To begin with, I'm very computer literate and an experienced photographer. This does a great job on all of my various types of work: photo printing, word processing, etc. You have to realize that the printer doesn't come with a cable for the PC, so go to the Epson web site, check the model you need & order it from them.It does use up the ink, but at $12/cartridge it's a lot cheaper than many of the other printers I've had.If you follow the installation instructions closely, you'll have no problem getting this going very quickly.For the price, I don't think you can beat this for overall performance.

I, like other reviewers, have had problems with these printers. They work fine at first, but eventually stop printing certain colours. I bought two, both developed identical problems, one will not print magenta at all and only prints a partial nozzle pattern in yellow. The other will not print magenta or yellow at all and gives a partial nozzle check pattern in cyan. In both cases black is fine. You can perform head cleans as much as you like to no effect. Epson technical help is no use, they refer you to the maintenance cleaning proceedure which achieves nothing. Another review site suggests cleaning with ethanol, then with ammonia, and also to check that the vacuum pipe to the print head is not blocked or disconnected. None of these things help. I think there is a serious problem with these machines and Epson are not acknowledging the fact. I had a stylus colour 850 for years with no trouble, but will not buy epson again until their quality gets back to what it once was.

This printer simply stopped printing. First the printer refused to allow more printing when there was still black ink left (it seems to sense a low level of ink and then completely cuts you off, even if the quality has been perfect). Then after buying the black ink replacement cartridge, it completely failed to print. And I have read that other reviewers had the same problem. Not sure whether there is complete physical blockage or just a software bug, but either way it ruins what seemed to be a good printer.

Bought this >1 yr ago for ~$350. For B&W copies or B&W prining in general, it uses a bit of color ink each time. You cannot turn it off. Phoned Customer Service, they said it does this to improve quality. I said this is unacceptable, fraud. Was transferred and then cut-off. I later looked this up and saw some printers do this - Epson's do. This is a joke, especially considering in general this thing is an ink hog, and the ink is expensive. As well, the paper seems to jam often, and then the thing makes a super-loud grinding noise. The actual color photos are quite good. Next time I will stick to a cheap HP (as I always had). Epson, never again. Should have known better to spend this much on a printer.

After about 2 years use, the black ink inexplicably stopped printing. The ink on the old cartridge ran out, i put in the spare I had, spare didn't work, bought a new cartridge, it didn't work. So now I am out two new cartridges (the spare and the new one). New cartidge, nozzle cleaning, and alignment did nothing. I have owned and used several printers (HP, inkjet, laser jet, etc.) and have not had such a frustrating experience as this to date. Also, ever since day one, when turning on the printer, or printing the first page of anything, it was slow, like it took forever for it to ready itself. I am very disappointed. I bought the printer because I had heard Epson is a quality brand for printing photos. I am very skeptical and bummed out now. It seems from reading the reviews Epson is like GM, Ford, and Chrysler in the 1970's, crank em out regardless of long term reliability.

This printer works great! Colors vibrant and easy to use.I bought it for the feature that prints onto CDs/DVDs and use it for my work. It makes a very professional looking "label" on DVDs/CDs that looks like it's burned right on to the DVD (instead of those labels that stick onto the DVD which can get stuck in your computer or DVD player and ruin it!)

Just as everybody else, I experienced a great printer with wonderful durabrite inks, just to find myself stranded with yet another disposable printer. And also like everybody else, I dished out a lot of money for new cartridges (2 sets at $60) - to find that no new cartridge can remedy what is ailing this printer and off to the garbage it goes.I had 3 great Epson printers and then I had 3 disposable ones and I am absolutely done with Epson and can only hope for a class action suit, since the obvious design flaw should have had this company react with a recall, trade-in option or at least inform the consumers. Making so much money on inks that have to accompany this printer to the landfill shows this company has ethics I cannot and will not support. Great inks at this price are a ridiculous trade off. Canon, here I come.

This printer looks great IF you can get it to work. You can not walk away from it or it will hang up during print at any stage. I can't ever get it to work the first time I turn it on. It pulls in the print carrier, moves it around a bit and then ejects it. First problem is, it won't even stop the eject. It just sits there and whirs until it shuts off with a red error light. When you start again, it may work. Often, the carrier gets hung up as the printer trys to pull it in. If you don't stand there and wait, and push the carrier past what ever obstruction is making it hang up, again the process comes to a crashing halt. Then at the end of the print the eject problem often happens again.Epson customer service is a joke. I have a second Epson printer connected to my computer. When both printers are plugged in my computer won't print to either and eventually hangs up. Epson told me it was my computer's problem. They were as unpleasant and unhelpful as they could be. While the R300 is under warranty, the closest center is 50 miles away and I had to carry it in. My time was worth more to me than that. So I went out and bought a real DC/DVD printer, the Primera Bravo II. I never learn. You get what you pay for!
