I have had it for...damn like four years now! It works pretty well for the price and as taken some great pictures for me throughout the years.

This is my second Canon PowerShot SX210IS. Nothing happened to the first, just bought this as a backup. No, I am not a photographer, but do drop things now and than. Takes magnificent photos, easy to hold, fast enough for stills, video is excellent, battery recycle time is good, and is still rated a top contender compared to newer models. Being quite versed in photography, knowing shutter speed and aperture priority, except for automatic mode, the other modes are just too complicated for my use. In its hay-days, I preferred the manual film cameras such as the Minolta SRTs. But, time moves on.

This camera makes me very tired.Yes it can take beautiful photos, but they are few and far between. In the meantime my camera and laptop are full of blurry, unfocused and dark pictures that are there to remind me of moments I didn't capture on film because this camera does not perform its main function very well, point and shoot. Worst of all is the shutter lag and I've owned many cameras over the years as a semi pro and with no other camera in my collection do i have to take so many repeated photos of the same subject to get desirable results, no matter how much I fine tune the manual settings.So the end result is extreme frustration and only marginal photos. I gave this camera a chance for 2 years but comparing my photos from these 2 years to the ones taken before on a Canon SD1000 the difference is clear... and quite sad, so many moments that could have looked so much better on a different camera.I gave the camera 2 and a half star for the amazing photos it can produce when the stars align but I bought this camera for the amazing zoom and with the terrible image quality and the difficult time it has taking the photos it's just not been worth it.

Had this camera several years now and it always works perfectly and takes great pictures. I never purchased a Cannon product before, and after owning one of their products, I will look at their line first the next time that I am interested in buying. Extremely satisfied customer.

I love using this camera. I am using this camera for around 2-years and still its working in great condition. No problems and high picture quality.

I can't describe how great this camera is..it is one of my favorite cameras of its class. I am not a photographer and know nothing about taking good pictures but this camera makes me look like a pro-photographer. It has a great great stabilizer for shaky hands (like mine!) and it works nice even without flash for moderate light. I LOVE this camera so much.

This little thing is very sharp. It does everything I want and much, much more. I never got the time or opportunity to use more then the two auto features.

If you're looking for a small cam but with enough features and very good optical zoom, this is a very good choice.

This camera worked great - for a while. When I was into my second week in Italy, it quit reading a charged battery so I was unable to use it. Good thing I had a camcorder and iPad with me, but what a hassle! I'm very disappointed.

So many settings to tinker with, so little time =) This little camera rivals the functionality and flexibility of a DSLR but is much smaller. Takes superb shots! The better you know how to customize settings, the better the results -- yes, it can help a budding photographer learn due to the number of settings the user can control. The only thing I don't like (and it's relatively minor) is that the flash pops up automatically when the camera is turned on regardless of what mode the camera is in -- I'd forgive it on the automatic modes, but it shouldn't pop up when shooting in manual or P. That flash preference wouldn't keep me from purchasing this camera again, though.

I've had this camera for a few years now and even though I own DSLRs, this little thing is still my go to camera when I need decent quality pictures and not in the mood to pack a huge camera bag. The pictures are of decent quality, and the camera has great battery life. There are a number of settings that I love using, primarily tilt-shift mode manages to make boring things quite interesting.What sets this camera aside from all others is its amazing durability, this little thing has survived a minor flood (not that I recommend this for pooltime), a number of accidental drops, a few stomps, a toddler chewing on it and an overzealous dog. It's got the scars to prove it! If you're looking for a point and shoot that's got it all, this is it.

A compact camera with big camera capablities. Yes, it takes some reading on how to use the settings as well as some trial, error and research on how to take a good picture using settings other than "automatic". Once you get that down, you're golden. It's got a big screen, a good zoom for what it is and multiple functions to take excellent and unique photos. I know that I've taken many that do not even need to be photoshopped before printing and framing, the photos were that good, or maybe it was just me. Regardless, I love this camera.

Why is there such a learning curve with a point and shoot camera?! Granted the extra/advanced options are nice, but if I just want to take a simple picture I should be able to without putting much thought into it. It is a total hit or miss on whether or not you will get a good photo with this camera. Most of the images are grainy when you zoom in or too dark. Forget about taking a picture in low light conditions, absolutely horrible. My Sony Cybershot DSC-T10 takes much better pictures, the only reason I upgraded was for the super zoom, but it absolutely was a mistake. Oh and this camera is an ergonomic fail! The dial to change settings is absolutely horrible. I have small fingers, so I wonder how those with large fingers work with that dial. I've had this camera for a while now so it can't be returned. I'll have to sell on ebay and take a loss.

I really enjoy this. Good zoom. Good picture quality. The only thing I can think of that would be considered negative would be that the flash is placed exactly where you want to put your finger. Other than that, everything is great.

A bit of background: I am a reasonably serious photographer, and I normally shoot with a Nikon DSLR. I bought this camera when I was looking for a lightweight camera that I could use indoors and outdoors. I also expected it to take reasonable movies indoors and outdoors.I've had the camera for more than a year, and all I can say about it is that I am seriously unhappy with it. It does take reasonable still pictures outdoors, and that's about it. I find the indoor performance for still pictures to be poor, and I find the movie performance to be poor both indoors and outdoors. In movie mode, the camera is unable to find and maintain focus, and indoor exposure in settings such as concerts is positively abysmal.I'd summarize my feelings by saying that I totally regret my purchase, and wish I had looked some more before buying. I REALLY DISLIKE THIS CAMERA.

Absolutely love this camera. An excellent performer. Quality of images is great. Really nothing bad to say about it. Great purchase.

After just a year, my Canon Powershot SX210 IS is useless. First only one dust particle appeared - it was inside the camera so no amount of lens care would rectify the problem. I compensated by using retouch using Picasa. That worked only for a time and then many blotches appeared - again inside the lens. I have tried to figure out how to fix this but have yet to find a solution.For the "top end" of the Canon line - this is unacceptable. I do not recommend buying from Canon until they come up with a solution.If there were an automobile, there would be a recall.

I wanted a camera that would be simple to use. My husband has used a Canon AE1 for years and took excellent photos. I knew this camera wouldn't take the same quality pictures that he takes but thought they would be better than what they are. This camera is a total waste of money. I am in the market to find a camera and it will not be a Canon this time.

Reviewed by my wife--I'm a pretty experienced photographer, but couldn't bear with the thought of taking my beloved Canon dSLR on a cruise. Instead, I searched high and low for the perfect compact camera and fell in love with the Canon PowerShot SX210IS. I purchase it in 2010 before my honeymoon to the Bahamas and have used it for multiple vacations since. It will go fully automatic, which is rare in a point and shoot, and it takes amazing photos. I've taken shots in Nassau, Freeport, Cocoa Beach, Miami, Charleston, St. Thomas, Grand Turk, Half Moon Cay, San Juan, Nags Head, Washington D.C., etc. It'll also be with me this fall when I visit Mexico, Belize and Isla Roatan. The only time I've ever had any problem with photo quality is in some low light situations where I refused to use the flash. I prefer natural light and only use the flash when forced to. The zoom is more than adequate and the picture quality is superb. I absolutely recommend this camera. It's the only one I can find that can stand up to my dSLR.

I LOVE this camera. Purchased it so I would have a good camera to take on my honeymoon. The pictures were clear and I have never had a problem with it.

I love this camera! Being in the broadcast television industry, I needed something that has excellent quality, that wont take me ages to set up to take a shot. This camera was the answer. And it is possible to get that professional-looking, "blurry background effect." For close up shots, such as flowers, the camera automatically goes into macro-mode and will auto-focus on the subject. If you want the effect on a person- stand at least 25 feet away from your subject, and fully zoom in on them. I found this works by keeping the camera in "auto" mode. Also, this makes excellent HD videos as well! I saw the band Berlin in concert recently after I purchased the camera, and was able zoom in on Terry Nunn singing. When I could hold the camera still enough, the video *almost looked professional-quality. Highly recommend this camera!
