I am very happy with the product, it is very very good, the only thing was that it does not bring the multiple pictures leaving the button pressed, but the image quality is outstanding!!

I have used all the Canon S Series cameras since the S20. I have to say that they really have made some great changes on this S80, and it is definitely worth the investment!
Yes, the RAW mode is gone (although the software stillc omes with a RAW tool), however I never used it anyway. If you do, get the S70.
Some of the great things about this camera is that Canon replaced the cumbersome button selector (and the flimsy 5 way selector before that) witha great pressable turn knob. You can EASILY change modes within modes... and the mode and information is displayed in a large animateed display on the screen! No more guessing about every symbol or putzing aroung to change modes. This makes it easy.
The picture quality is amazing. The zoom is silent.. You can even zoom in movie mode (you couldn't on erarlier versions).
The movie mode is fantastic also. A 1 GB card is reccmmended for good large Hi Def movies.
They totally remade the camera, in a new box which is MUCH sturdier feeling and more professional.
And the display is larger and brighter than ever. You probably will not need the brightness at more than half. It is so clear also.. TONS clearer than in the Past. The camera itself is actually smaller and lighter than the S70..
This is a wonderful camera. With the SD550 out there, I was concerned Canon would do away with the S series, but alas.. the S 80 is here.....

I bought it for a 4 week trip to Europe where I took 2,500 pics. I love this little camera. Lightweight and takes good quality images. The batteries are easy to find. And the macro focusing came in handy too.

The case is too small for the A640 and A630. For these cameras you need the Canon DCC-300 case.

I could not be happier with the A620 from Canon. Sleek look, good quality, works great. I'm using a standard speed SD card and its as quick as can be. The flash resets very quickly, and batteries that came with the camera lasted forever, let alone the nice Energizer rechareables I got. I paid $214 here on Amazon and I'm thrilled I got it.
Some people say the doors are flimsy, but unless you're an ape and just stab at things, it will be just fine, I dont think they are weak at all.

As usual Canon has produced a quality product matched perfectly to a great camera. I have had this camera down to 100 ft. without a problem. I think this camera/case combo is one of the best you will find without spending over $1000 bucks and many much more expensive units can't match it's performance.
My only complaint is that the multi funtion wheel on the back of the camera is not accessable when in the case so you cannot use most of the manual funtions that require use of the wheel. Like manual focus and adjusting the flash, exposure comp. and white balance. This is a major consideration for the prosummers out there.

I bought this as a replacement for my old Kodak. What a revelation. Get the focus right ( can be tricky sometimes ) and beautiful , detailed shots follow. I also liked the continous shooting mode ( only works in daylight without the additional flash pack ), great for family action shots. There is a lot of manual adjustment too, great if you are into more serious photograpy.
At the price I feel it is unbeatable and i`ve seen it listed in a reputable camera chain for over £100 more.
Well here we are seven years later and its still going strong with occasional use. Ive upgraded to an EOS now but for a camera to use for snaps... cant beat it ..just keep the lens and sensors ( autofocus holes etc ) clean and its still a little stunner.

I have had the camera about 4 months.
It is now in for repair for the second time with the e18 error.
This error stops the lens from going in and out correctly.
When the camera works it works fine and is easy to use, but for me the camera has been in 1/3 of the time I owned it.
I had a A520 before updating and it also broke.
I have had cameras for years and never had a repair until these 2.
I am very nervous about the powershot series now.

I shopped around for this along time. The camera is amazingly easy to use and the photo quality is fantastic,,,and the price worked into the factor quite well. I can't wait to go on a vacation with it..outside shoots are gorgeous and close ups at 100 percent look great, too. A great little score. Very, very pleased so far.Re-chargeable energizers last a long time and i've put in a sd 2g card and i'm ready to rock and roll.

I read all the reviews, did a big research and as said Canon's picture quality is really good. Also could shoot awesome videos and the quality is better than a camcorder. Would really recommend.

A620 is my first digicam. It's nice, easy to handle and takes great photos. The 7.1 MP effect is visible when you enlarge the photos..you get crisp and clear photos.

This accessories kit gives me rechargeable batteries, saving me tie & money. The other accessories are items I would have had to buy separately for at a higher cost. A good purchase.

I bought this camera on 6/2/06 and loved it,until today. I was taking pictures of my grandson when the lens began to malfunction. It makes a horrible grinding noise when you turn it on or off and the lens has trouble extending and retracting. I called Canon and it must be shipped to them to be repaired. They only have one service location in the U.S. and they cannot estimate how long it will take. I have to ship it via UPS or Fed Ex and must insure it. I am NOT happy NOW! Someone else eluded to this problem, so heed their advice and BEWARE!

Amazon's fast service, as well as their customer service, is wonderful. As for the camera, clear good pictures, although it takes 4 batteries. This makes camera kind of "heavy".

I did a lot of research on digital cameras before I purchased this camera. I was mainly looking for a good macro setting and the option of manual settings. This camera has both. I also really like the adjustable LCD screen, I get creative with my shots and being able to angle the screen in different directions really helps. The battery life is great, I've taken nearly 500 photos on one set of batteries. There are a ton of settings so you will need to read the instructions. It also has a totally automatic setting which makes it very user friendly. I highly recommend this camera.

I initialy bought this camera as a Xmas gift for my partner but fell instantly in love with it and kept it for myself. My partner got a freeview box and webcam instead. The Canon Powershot A620 is very simple to use. Takes beautiful pictures and videos. I must admit it's not as trendy looking as the slim line credit card size cameras that are now on the market but I guess that's the trade off for stunning prints. My only gripe would be the red eye reduction is not at all great, but hey, just down load your pics to your computer and with just a simple click of the mouse, the red eye can be removed. I guess this would only cause a problem if you want to get prints straight from the memory card. The swivel out lcd screen is great for taking self portraits or taking pics over heads in a crowd as it also tilts backwards and forwards. The lcd screen powers up beautifully in low light conditions. The battery life is fab and the fact that the camera uses 4 x AA battery's, if you do get caught short and they run low, you can just pop into your nearest shop for a replacement. The four batteries do make the camera slightly heavy but then you feel like you're holding a substantial piece of equipment.

I just received my Canon Powershot A620. I was very excited and anxious waiting for it. There was no let down on this one, everything I had read about it was true. The pictures are clear and ease of function is great. I shopped hard to pick the best camera for the most economical price and everytime I would see rave reviews it would be for this camera. I am very pleased and having a great time taking pictures!!

I purchased an A95 a couple of years ago and was very pleased with the quality of the pictures. Since the price was right, I decided to upgrade after reading excellent reviews for the camera. I have used the camera for about a month and have been very pleased with the results. The pictures are very sharp and the movie mode has greatly improved. I would recommend this camera to anyone that wants a very high quality camera at a budget price.

Antes tenia una camara sony, pero siempre habia querido evolucionar a una canon por tener una mayor tradicion en lo que respecta a camaras fotograficas. La verdad no solo lleno mis espectativas sino que las sobrepaso. excelente calidad en las fotos, muy comodo el tamaño y la apariencia fisica de la camara es muy atractiva. el unico detalle es que no trae las baterias recargables incluidas pero fuera de eso ha sido una excelente compra!!

I have had a number of digital cameras over the years, and this is the best so far. It is quick to turn on and be ready for a picture (quite telling in some cameras). It takes the pictures quickly and prepares for the next one (the card doesn't seem to make a difference for me- I have a 512M SD- nothing special).
I will also say it has a weight and substance to it that makes it seem "real" rather than plastic as some cameras feel. I know some people like a light camera, and this isn't it. This is for photographers who want a good camera- not something you shove in your pocket.
