I am a novice to digital cams but I did research and the 620 seem to have the best reviews. In fact all the Canons had good reviews. Now I am adding my voice to the courus of praise for Canon. I am especially pleased with this 620 and its fine pictures. While I have a long way to go to learn all its features I can assure you that the auto mode is just great for those that want to point and shoot. Are there any flaws? Red eye reduction isn't working for me but that may be user error. The price is great though and I haven't seen a camera comparable that isn't at least $100.00 more. I highly recommend this camera.

I replaced my Canon A95 with the A630, and I have the worst case of redeye I have ever seen in a camera. The sharpness of the pictures is no different from the A95 nor is the quality of the images any better. I may go back to my A95.

Canon is a well known brand over the world. I have been using this camera for about 3 months now, and it is truly amazing. a great buy at a good price.

I am extremely impressed with all but one feature of this camera. When the image looks cropped perfectly on the back of the camera, the pictures often come back with the top of heads cut off, etc. The view finder is more accurate. I'm not sure why both can't present an accurate image, but it took me a month to get pictures that were as I had wanted.

This camera is great! The picture Quality is AMAZING, when i took a picture of a leaf with the macro mod and it came out looking like a professional photo!!! The compliant i have about it is "nothing" :D.

I've generally been happy with Canon products. The A620 is definitely an example with that.
The turn-on speed puts my cybershot to shame. The preview has great resolution and all the possible scene types are awesome. I use picasa so not sure how good the combined software is.
Complaints:
* 4 batteries are heavy!
* Bought it for mom and not sure she could fit it in her purse
* isn't it about time we have a tutorial come with a camera?
* Cybershot came with rechargable batteries that was nice

The close-up shots are simply great. The camera is easy to use and a good value for the money. Overall i love this camera.

I bought this camera for my parents. It takes far better pictures than the camera I paid 3x as much for. It also is a lot less complicated.

I have owned three camers before this one, one of them was also a digital. I could never get good pictures out of the prevoius ones and didnt know if it was me or the cameras. The price was right and we took the camera on vacation one week after purchase. It was easy to use and the pictures were great I would reccomend this camera to anyone.

I've owned nothing but Canon digital cameras in my life - the G1, G2, S70 and now the S80. My biggest gripe with prior cams was the lousy video quality. The S70 was improved (640x480 10 fps), but still not suitable as a video cam replacement. Now, Canon finally answers the call with the S80. It's awesome to be able to carry a camera in your pocket that takes perfect still pictures AND can double as a respectable video cam. In addition to the lower rez/frame rate problems in past cams, zooming or adjusting for light changes while capturing video wasn't possible. This cam does both. Bravo! Of course, you need plenty of SD memory, but I can live with that. (2 gigs gets you ~16-17 mins at 640x480).
Is it worth upgrading from an S70 to an S80? If you care at all about video, then absolutely! The S80 interface is also much improved and the large LCD is wonderful. If the video hadn't been drastically improved, I would've stuck with the S70 and waited for the S90 or considered the competition. The downside is the switch to SD memory from CF but that's the price of progress. Hopefully SD is as durable as CF.
I really wanted the underwater housing option for my S70, but since I wasn't 100% happy with that cam, I held off. I just ordered it for my S80 from Amazon.

Nice camera for the money and easy to use. One downer is the AA battery's. Even with rechargables in seems we're always changing them.

This canon product offers great flexibility in customizing a picture and takes great pictures in the automatic setting. It is light weight and small, which means easy to carry around and likely to be carried around. So far there has been nothing to say negatively about this product. The software accompanying the product is great also.

I recently bought a Canon Powershot A530 from Amazon.com. I must say the overall experience has been fantastic. The ease of purchasing online could never be better. Even though i opted for free shipping, i got the camera delivered 2 days ahead of schedule, neatly packed so as to prevent any damage whatsoever. Thanks Amazon!

This item is great. I love the how the pictures turn out. They really look nice, and I like that the camera is 7MP. The one tiny problem I have with this camera is that the shutter opens from the middle and it very often, does not open all the way and I have to help it out with my finger. THis isnt that big of a deal but does get teadious.

Being new to digital cameras I was hesitant when I first purchased this camera because of the many options that it has. But as I soon found out it is so easy to use, even if you don't read the manuals. The picture quality is excellent, even when enlarged to 8x10. And it does 2x as many things as similar cameras in the same price range.

Being a mom of a very active 2 year old, I really wanted a camera that would capture my child at play. Although there is still a lag in the shutter, it seems to work better than my Sony. Our first big test was a Wiggles concert. The camera has a kids & pets mode. This mode catches moving objects much better. I haven't gotten the pictures developed yet but they look great downloaded.
The down side was after owning the camera for less than a week it broke. A wire in the shutter came loose. Disappointing but Canon is repairing it free of charge. They have amazing customer service which is always a plus.
