Nice camera - takes great pictures. The camera seems to go through batterys very quickly - not sure if it is an issue with the camera. Every time I use it, I have to change the batteries, other than that I like it. Not sure who I talk to at Amazon about this unfortunately.

I've had this Canon Powershot A620 for several month. I also own Canon EOS-20D camera. I love this EOS-20D very much but I don't take it along with me because of its size. This A620 fits in my pants pocket, does every feature EOS-20D has, with a slight bit less quality.
Since I am a real estate investor, I carry this all the time to shoot many properties. Its movie function is also awesome. I can take quick family activites without bringing my full feature movie camera all the time.

I really like the ease of use of this camera. It has many features but are so easy to figure out. I have used it for my son's school play and was able to take very nice pictures.

I have owned several canon camera's from the a310 to the a95 and this one the a630 simply blows them all away. pic quality is excellent, especially when I compare the difference in two same shots between the a95 and the a630. the a630 is sharper,more vivid, and the features and ease of use is outstanding.AA batteries is a plus, I do recommend rechargeable batteries.
8 mp is the way to go. also get at least a 1 gig sd card.

If only you can find a case for this camera... not a big one or a small one, just one that fix like a glove... but I tried whit a couple of Canon's case and none fix well. The Camera, its really Great, just remenber: you need to buy rechargable batteries and extra memory.

I have wanted a digital camera for a long time, but haven't bought one due to knowledge and cost. I did some research on line and this camera kept coming up as the camera of choice. I found the cheapest price on Amazon.com. I paid a few dollars extra for shipping because I wanted it right away. The camera has paid for itself already. I have taken hundreds of pictures of my kids, etc.. Very easy to download to computer (even without software). Can switch pics easily to a format that's fast to send email. The video function is very easy to use and takes great videos. With a 1gb card, I can take almost 512 pics on one card without having to download any. I haven't bought rechargeable batteries yet, but that will be my next purchase. The AA have lasted for quite some times considering how much I use the camera. Worse case scenerio, I run to any store and buy some more for a few bucks. Highly recommended!!!

I got this camera back in May and lost it (but this camera seemed to be the best). I ordered the same camera from Amazon but had to return it because one of the pixels were blown. I got my replacement but the amount of time it takes to take a picture is an eternity.
Look for some other camera. If people are posing you better hope you get it on the 1st shot, because if you don't it takes too long to take another.

camera is nice was offered a [...] rebate by amazon during purchase process online but when came to final checkout after credit card info, rebate was not on screen amazon was no help in this matter. DON'T BUY ANYTHING HERE THEY BAIT YOU WITH REBATES THEY DON'T GIVE OUT.

Picture quality is great! Zoom is good. But, I think the speed is poor overall. Even an upgrade to a high-speed card didn't speed things up for me. Speed is OK with outside photos but super-slow when using flash. Also, invest in a high-output rechargeable battery!

We gave this camera to our fourteen-year-old daughter as a gift. She has been busy taking wonderful photos ever since. The controls are easy to access and she loves the moveable LCD screen. The pictures are superior in quality. Ultimately, it was a wonderful purchase.

Purchased as a gift for our son, his first digital. Relatively simple to operate, super size display screen, all around excellent camera and at a STEAL of a price. He has called twice to tell us how much he is enjoying his Christmas gift. Couldn't be more pleased.

This Camera take a good looking pictures. I still having problems to take some night pictures, but it seen that some adjustment to the pictures properties are required to take this king of pictures. You have to read the manually carefully and made some test before you launch to take good pictures seriously. This is really a good choice if you are looking a medium level camera that take great pictures in several environments.

This is the 3rd digital camera I've owned and by far the best in picture quality. Feature rich and yet easy to use, from fully automatic to full manual. Battery life (not using LCD) is very good. Light weight and pocket size. Great camera!

Loved the camera but both the originally ordered one, and then its replacement, had lens problems. The original had a nick/scratch INSIDE the lens. The replacement did not. The replacement DID have a very distinctly visible band of cemented glue ALL the way around the INSIDE of the zoom lens. The original did not.
Called Canon and their CSR apparently took a look at an A620 they have in their center and said he saw the same thing and that it shouldn't be a problem.
Whatever. I expect a purchased-new product's construction to be perfect. At least give me the illusion of quality control and standards.
Shame Amazon won't replace it again. Maybe the third one would have been the charm.

Amazon did send third replacement. But this one had noticeable vibration and noise when focusing and the "shake" warning came on with EVERY shot even when I sat it on a table to test it. Kept the one with the ring.

Bought this right before our vacation from Adorama Camera, delivery was prompt and complete. All of the reviews we read on this product are pretty much on target;
positives
- takes a great pic
- love the rotating LCD
- easy to use...put it in auto and aim and shoot
negatives
- the download cable interface cover is totally cheap and is bound to fall apart after a handfull of uses...get a SD reader and move images direct from the card (don't mess with the cables)
- LCD is very hard to see in direct sunlight
- every time you cycle power, it goes back to default settings (e.g. when the flash is disabled, power cycling returns it to enabled...but I'm sure there's a way to change the default settings)

- it's physically a bit larger than some other cameras, but the CCD resolution is worth the extra size (7Mp)

This camera takes high definition shots that look great . The zoom is good enough to get detailed shots of alligators in the water or birds in trees.It is simple to us and so compact and light that I can take it with me every day. This was very useful when I was on vacation recently in South Carolina.
I also bought the rechargable battery pack as it goes through a lot of power, a 1gb memory card and a cary case.It's good to get these at the same time.

I will keep this short, but if like me you know little about photography but want to take some stunning pictures and video, buy this CANON A620 camera.Just returned from holiday and took this along with 1GB memory card and managed to get over 240 photos at high resolution (7.1MP)and about 8 dozen videos ( a couple of mins long each)on the one memory card and the best bit is the original 4 x AA Energizer batteries are still going strong.The pictures are stunning, I kept it in simpleton `Auto` mode apart from a couple of close up`s where I engaged the `macro` mode and this camera did not give one bad picture.Look around and the other retailers are selling this camera for as much as double the Amazon price,it arrived next days special delivery perfect condition WELL DONE AMAZON, WELL DONE CANON!

bought for college daughter. She loves it-easy to use, super, her friends all want one. She wishes she had the tripod for steadiness on pics at night that take a few seconds to shoot.

it's a great little camera! it takes super photos of the greatest quality. the only thing that stinks is the battery life isn't that great, but if you're out some place and you run out, you dont have to worry about re-charging, you can just purchase 2 double A batteries. :-)

This camera is very user friendly and easy to use. The viewing screen is easy to see and very clear. The pictures are clear and good color. Compared to other digital cameras we have used, this one if definitely superior and we would highly recommend.

Purchased this as a replacement camera for an older model. Have used it for a couple of months now and am very pleased with the pictures taken. Easy to use as a point and shoot, but has the option of changing settings for professional results.

Very pleased. I had a samsung w/out optical zoom, it ate batteries something fierce. The A540 went for over 300 pictures on one set of double-A's (rechargeable flavor). Very handy, got the gorillapod. Now the A540 is akin to a parrot with a photographic memory.

I was looking for a compact size digital camera with flexibility of manual controls. This camera has everything that I could have ever hoped to have in such a camera. Works great with Phoenix digital slave flash to take excellent night photos.
