This is my first digital camera. I waited to buy one because I thought it would be hard to use; this one isn't. It comes with 2 instruction books, one a 'short cut' version, the other more detailed. This is a good camera and easy to use. I'm glad I decided on this model.

I was looking at replacing my S30 digital camera. S30 really worked well for me for many years, but it started to give me some problems. I was really debating between the SD 550 or SD 600 and the S80 canon models. I thought 8 Megapixels with S80 was good, but I was not really sure if I needed it. I really liked the compact nature of the SD series , the startup time and the shooting speed. But, I wanted something better than the point and shoot camera. I was really worried about the flash capability of compact cameras. With S80 I could reuse my battery back. Even though I could not use my Compact flash memory, but I think SD memory is really nice with S80. And I really liked the shooting modes the S series provided and decided to buy S80. I have been using this camera for over 3 months and really love it (I am so glad that I leaned towards S80).

I had read alot of reviews on digital camera sites and had done a lot of research on cameras and this little beauty consistently received 4.5 stars on average with each review. It's easy to use (right out of the box) and takes beautiful pictures and is very comfortable to hold. The 2.5 inch rotating LCD screen is a fantastic feature and the price on Amazon is hard to beat. Took it to Bar Harbor, Maine on vacation------gorgeous pictures! Everything from sunsets, mountaintop scenery,and portraits of my kids. It's a great camera for anyone.

This is actually my second one of this type of camera, my first was accidentally dunked into a river. I bought it a second time because it was a great camera. Takes really wonderful pictures and it is really easy to use. I also love it because you can hide the view screen and protect it from scratching. It also has a great digital zoom to get really close up shots. I had never owned a Canon camera but I am glad I do now! I do recommend that if you are near any type of water to get the waterproof cover for it. Otherwise, it is wonderful camera!

The A620 is a great camera. I bought it after seeing that Consumer Reports rated it as the best small-scale camera. I've used Consumer Reports comparable (best rated) large-scale camera, and this one in my opinion is just as good for half the price and half the bulk. Enjoy-

This camera is destined to be a standard by which all future higher quality Canon point and shoot cameras will be measured. Simply put, it takes great pictures, the batteries last forever and are easily replaced, and to hold it is to know it's a quality camera.
Longer zooms, higher pixels counts, and more appealing gimmicks will soon relegate this gem to obsolescence, so get it while you can. It does all things well. It takes stunning pictures, is loaded with features, and it won't disappoint. Canon got this one right.

Excellent camera - for the price,especially at Amazon. Their price was below the Best Buy $50 discount. The camera takes great photos and has the same capabilities as a SLR for almost all logistical conditions. Highly recommend for a mid-range digital camera.

The camera has many features, perhaps too many for my purposes. The viewing screen could be larger. I would prefer a camera that is less bulky or cumbersome. After purchasing through Amazon a local retailer advertised the same camera at the same price.

after reading many amazon reviews i went for this camera. fantastic shots, many manual settings and EVERY BUTTON IS WHERE IT FEELS IT SHOULD BE; this camera is incredibly easy to use. Not one annoying feature. beautiful colour levels too.
It lacks a 'steadyshot' feature if anything, but my low light pics have turned out well, and if you need a flash this has an adjustable one (3 brightness levels i think.)
one further note: do NOT buy this camera from oneclickdigital.com if you are tempted to shop around. they undercut any price but are scam artists, and will only honour the purchase if you buy other 'bargain' (expensive) accessories.

I bought this camera simply because it was a good deal, fit my budget, and received decent reviews on amazon. I've had it for a few weeks now and I'm pretty happy with it. It's really easy to understand and ESPECIALLY easy to get my pictures onto my computer. That what I wanted and that's what I got. The shots have all come out pretty well too.
I don't want to say too much, considering I haven't owned or used it very long, but I sure cannot say anything bad about it.

I was a little skeptical of buying a digital camera, since I am a fan of SLR cameras, but my husband convinced me that this was a good buy. We took it on vacation, and I was very impressed with the resolution and clarity of the pictures. This camera also has a good amount of settings and features to play with. One of my favorite features is that you can flip the LCD screen around. That makes it nice for "self-pictures". For a digital camera, it is also pretty fast; there isn't too long of a delay. For the price, it is a great deal.

The camera is easy to use and takes excellent pictures without having to edit. I needed 5 mega pixels to print up to 8.5" X 11" prints, and this camera does the job. The pictures are in JPG format so I doen't have to comvert the format.

I got this camera as a baby shower gift. I needed a camera that was quick and easy to use. When you're taking pictures of the funny things kids do, you have to be quick. This camera is exactly what I needed. Once I spot the kids doing something funny, I have time to turn the camera on and get the picture before they even realize they're in the spotlight. It has a great zoom and red-eye protection. I am really happy with the quality especially for the price.

This is an excellent camera for the price. I enjoy the features - especially the cool flip screen. It is easy to use and takes great pictures.
Beware of attatching lenses - the aluminum adapter got stuck to my camera and I needed to return it - it fused with the plastic mount and wouldn't come off. You could try the cheaper plastic Canon adapter, but people don't like them either. I say, stick with the camera as it is - if you want to attatch lenses, get a larger camera. I also purchased a 1 gig card with the camera at a very good price.

I bought this camera for action stage shots. I was not impressed with this camera. The time it took between shots to process was way too long. Especially in a busy photo shoot. Returned it my Sony was much faster.

I am not by no means an expert on cameras. I just wanted a point and shot and this camera does that and produces great pictures. The colours are vibrant and you can get really close to subjects far away. I'm sure that if I read the booklet on how to use the settings, my shots would be even better. But for someone looking for an easy camera with good results, this is the one. If I had to say anything negative, it would be that it did not come with a carry case.

I went to a student of mine for info. on purchasing my first Digital Camera. Along, with his advice and my research into this kind of product, I came to buy from Amazon.com, the Canon Powershot A620. A lot of bells and whistles, but I'm enjoying the discovery of how things work. I particularly wanted a good camera for close-up shots of things I sell on Ebay. Before this; my instamatic never took very clear shots, or I had to wait and use up all of my 12 (minimum) shots from my 35mm camera. I hope I'll have many years with this camera.

I got this camera on Friday. It's really great. It has great lighting and it takes good movies, too. The only bad thing is the flash. But it arrived here really quickly. This camera is great and I think you should buy it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love taking pictures although I am not the smartest when it comes to buying the right one. I saw this one and all of its features and knew that I had to get it. I couldn't have made a better choice because this camera is amazing! I'm a big race fan and my pictures from the race are great...you can see everything so clearly, even as the cars are flying past. The zoom, shutter-speed, flash, lighting, and all the other options were perfect. I would recommend this camera for someone whos looking for a good digi camera that is reasonably cheap and takes awesome pictures.

If you don't know a thing about cameras, I'm writing this for you. This is the best digital camera I've ever owned. It takes great pictures and it's fun to experiment with all the features and settings. You can get a lot of creative shots with this camera. Be sure to buy rechargeable batteries and keep extras with you because last night I tried to use the camera and it said the batteries were low and I couldn't take any pictures, but it didn't warn me in advance and I just used it two days prior! Although this camera is bigger than others, I found it easier to hold and steady.
I didn't care for the software, but it's not important to me. I just take the SD card out of the camera and plug it directly into my computer to transfer photos and you can use free photo organizing programs from the internet to organize your pics.

I love this camera! It is so easy to use, takes great pictures, and makes downloading pics to my computer a snap. I do recommend a larger memory card because the card that comes with the camera won't hold many pictures. Once you start snapping, you'll want lots of memory for lots of pictures. I can't say enough about the colors and clarity of the pictures. The camera is weighty enough that I don't worry about dropping it. The smaller, lighweight cameras make me feel like I'd be apt to drop or break, but there's a substance and heft to this camera that I like. I'm sure there are superior cameras on the market, but for the money, this one can't be beat!

The Aperture Sensor was not working so almost every photo was pitch black since the lens did not open. I took 28 photos, including the Space Shuttle Launch, Peabody Hotel ducks, Disney area, and friends. Due to the appeture not working, only 4 photos actually took. I inserted the original SD card, and out of 14 photos, only 2 took--it was not the card.
It was returned for a replacement, and I'm off to Yellowstone National Park to try it out. The Wolf Camera salesman said it was a factory defect that was extremely rare and any problems always show up in the first 90 days.

I have only used this a few times so far. I bought a canon because I love my canon sureshot 35mm camera. So far I just love this camera! I have even "sold" it to my friends. It has so many features for the more experienced photographer but has also the auto features for an amateur photographer. I recently took pictures at a lake house for a company picnic and everybody was amazed at how great the pictures looked. This is definately a great buy for the price!

Just wanted to say that I bought this camera for my mum at a great price and she loves it. Great resolution and easy to get to grips with. It also came with a free Lowepro camera case. Unfortunately the case doesn't fit the camera but Amazon told me (after 3 weeks of asking) that there was nothing they could do about this as it was free and I would just have to live with it. Not the best incentive and not the best customer care either.
