I read many reviews of this camera before purchasing it. It was replacing a $300 digital camera I had owned for about 6 years. I had worried that I would be constantly comparing them and kicking myself for not trying to get my old camera repaired. But, so far, I've been pleased. The flash does charge slowly. I rarely use the flash, however. The picture quality is comparable to my old camera. It has many of the same features I am used to, also. The only new criticism I have is that I tried the movie feature, and my memory card filled up in about 2 minutes. I figured out how to reduce the picture quality and was able to tape longer. If you're a point-and-shoot novice photographer, I think it's a good buy.

It is rare that I find a product so utterly useless for the intended purpose. I just wanted something to take pictures mostly inside and when the pictures are not fuzzy they are washed out with the flash. The only time it works as one might expect is on bright sunny days outside to take pictures you might with the phone camera, the rest are grainy, fuzzy, and just not worth bothering.It also blows through batteries like nothing I have ever seen.This was an impulse buy, so this is on me. It now lives in a drawer and my old old 4MP is back on the job and doing better than this ever will.

arrived on time and in good shape. Battery life is not terrible, but not great. shoots good video. Takes very good stills for a point and shoot. Controls are not very intuitive - I own/owned a metric assload of digital cameras and I had challenging time figuring out the basic controls on this one. Maybe it was just me...I would buy it again as it is priced right, is small and takes very good pix for price and size.

Takes good pictures for the price but it is very slow. You will not be able to use this camera for moving subjects or for low light photography. It is only slightly better than a cell phone camera, and that is due to the optical zoom.

The camera I bought had a defective CCD and I returned it. Had to pay return postage and a restocking fee. Postage I can understand, but why do I have to pay a restocking fee for a defective product? That cost should be sent on to the manufacturer, it's their product that's defective. Turn around time for a replacement was too long (needed camera for a vacation) so I just returned it and went to Bi-Mart and bought one. Cost a little more, but they will take back items and not charge you a restocking fee.Camera itself takes great pictures, but does not come with a SD card. What good is a camera if you can't take pictures right out of the box? Also do not like the fact that there is no manual. You can get one online, of course, but it is over 200 pages long!!! Not what I want to download and print at home. Overall camera is nice, especially with the viewfinder and compact enough to fit in my pocket.Just checked today for my refund and discovered I was not charged a restocking fee. I guess my nasty letter I sent along with the returned item worked.

I have took thousands of pictures in my lifetime and my last camera being digital and it has wore out and I wanted a camera yet, that use AA batteries and too one with a view finder so I choose this camera and it works alright

I was looking for a camera that I could carry in my purse and this fits the bill. I like the large viewing screen and the quality of the pictures. I also really like the fact that it also has a viewing window, if you need more stabilization when taking the shot. The only minor draw back is that it takes the camera a few seconds to recharge the flash after every shot. Overall I would recommend this camera

The camera is small and compact...perfect for traveling. Fits great in the pockets of your pants. Using 2 AA batteries makes it convienent for not having to be around a USB port to charge it up. Zoom feature and pixel size are perfect for this type of camera. The pricing is great compared to other cameras with the same features.

A pocket-able camera with a view finder made by Canon and selling for less than $100?Upon opening the box, I was pleasantly surprised that I could grab it from multiple angles without activating any controls. Next I was surprised to see the batteries did not make the unit uncomfortably side heavy. The flash is thankfully not a popup. The larger recessed power button and indented battery compartment cover were large enough that I didn't have to aim unduly with my large fingers. The start up and lag times were better than I dared hope. The operating controls kept the same Canon theme. The news just kept getting better as I continued exploring.As for the quality of pictures and it's ability to shoot in low light situations? Very good, especially in low light.

I may be doing something wrong but not sure. I like the pictures but it also takes a long time to download to my computer. It does take clear pictures.

in an inexpensive little camera, this one has it. While the picture quality seems middling they are quite acceptable in a camera that cost less than $60.

Optical viewfinder is nice when the sun is washing out the screen.One button takes photos. Another button takes movies. No messing with mode switches and menus.Fast to boot-up and start shooting, unlike my cell phone.2 AA batteries, so no messing with a charger and special batteries.I bought it after trying to use my cell phone at an airshow, where I missed most shots, waiting for mode changes.I have a waterproof Kodak, which is nice, but the mode changes are a nuisance.And the lack of optical viewfinder is a handicap.If I'm not getting wet, I prefer the Cannon.I'd give the Cannon 5 stars, if it were waterproof.

This is a small compact camera that is easy to hold while taking your photos. I bought this to take on vacation as it is easy to carry in my purse or pocket. It requires 2 AA batteries and I recommend the extended life batteries as they last much longer. Cost a bit more but are worth the price. This camera is very affordable and has all the necessary functions to take good shots.

I really like this camera. I really like that it takes regular batteries instead of a certain kind. I took it on my honeymoon and when the batteries started to go I just went to a store and bought new ones. The picture quality is also good. I took it on cave tours and was impressed with how well the pictures turned out.

Gave camera for wife to use. 'Point and shoot' I told her...well, the pictures that did come out okay are too grainy and cannot be enlarged without extreme distortion. All shots were taken indoors so that may be the problem, the lighting and all.Lot of shots were out of focus, people walking onto stage during an awards program.Not a camera for the kids or wives who just want a 'point and shoot' and not have to worry about anything else.I am going to retry it myself..outdoors and indoors and see what happens. Could be my missus and not the camera.

I really like this as my point and shoot. It's small enough to fit in a pocket. It operates on AA batteries and my Sanyo Eneloops work very well in it. This is my second one. I gave my Daughter in law the first one to take pictures of my granddaughter instead of a phone camera. In good light, it takes excellent pictures. In low light, not so much. I do like the fact that I can turn the flash on for fill flash. The flash does take a few seconds to recharge whether you use Alkaline or rechargeable NiMh batteries.

I bought four of these (prior version) cameras for school and one for the school auction/dance (auctioned off with 4 hours of my time for photo instruction, etc.).Anyhow - I LOVE these cameras. AA batts so I don't have to worry about whether the camera is charged or not. (I have a PowerShot SX210 with two lithium batts, personally. But for school, recharging batts is no good - the cameras might sit on the shelf for a while and lose charge and I don't want to buy extra $60 batts for them.)So...kids use them, mostly, to shoot videos. Being able to take the SCCard out of the camera and put it into a small SD Card reader is just so easy. Forget about the USB cable. Most laptops now come with SD slots in them so you can pop the card out of the camera and into your laptop - how much easier is that??I think this is an EXCELLENT --> ENTRY LEVEL <-- camera for kids, particularly; but, really, anyone who wants to start learning about photography. Yeah, it lacks a lot of bells and whistles a lot of the other P&S cameras have, but that's GREAT because there is nothing to distract you from learning how to "see" a good photo and learn all about the "photographer's eye".I've also felt that it's good not having too much stuff on a device because then you can really learn what you are missing and KNOW what to look for when you're ready to move up to the next level.I think a lot of folks "overbuy" in a camera, especially, and then either get frustrated with it because there just is too much to learn or, worse, just don't use the camera.The price is right - the camera is more than capable of taking great photos. I plan to buy some more for the school.

Dropped my good Nikon camera and was out of a camera until I got another one or got mine repaired. Thought it would be a good idea to get a small, portable, all around camera, that can be taken anywhere and that fits in your pocket, and that I could also use in the meantime. I liked it because it still has an optical viewfinder, and also has 16 MegaPixels. Not so, ... Big disappointment. The "Optical Viewfinder" does zoom in and out as you use the zoom, but the image you get is totally OFF from the image you saw and took a picture off. So, ... the Optical Viewfinder is absolutely NO GOOD !!! The regular images and pictures you take, even some in broad daylight, are completely grainy and very "noisy", as well as also a bit unsharp. You can't blow up any pictures to anything bigger than maybe an 8 x 10 or even think about using a cropped image to enlarge it. You see this right on the computer screen. Also, there is a control button for the Flash, but only to turn it OFF or to turn it on AUTO, ... NO way to turn it to ALWAYS ON, like if you want to use it as a fill flash or in backlit situations. It is a small and cute camera, but if you want any halfway decent results, get something else. I ended up returning it after just a few test shots. I still don't understand why they even bothered to put 16 MP into a camera that gives you worse results than any of the older 2 or 3 MP cameras, or even my Phone Camera.

I chose this camera because it has a view finder; the only way I can see a subject in bright sunlight. Without viewfinder in such lighting I can only guess at what I will photograph.

I bought this little fellow in a bargain, and is one of the greatest investments i've done.Easy to use, fits in my pants pockets, sharp images, vivid colors. Not for use in AUTO mode, it is ok, but if you want take control use LIVE or P.With rechargable batteries and the ECO mode, it's charge will last for several days. Great camera.

It has a viewfinder! This is a great starter camera for the digital holdouts. It is easy to use and has a viewfinder which makes the transition from point and shoot film cameras easier. Great image quality and color reproduction.

I carry and shoot a Nikon D800 but I have been looking for a long time for a very compact point and shoot that I can stick in my pocket for those occasional shots when my big camera may not be accessible. This is perfect. Takes AA batteries and has a viewfinder which is getting almost impossible to find on a point and shoot. I don't do well taking pics using the lcd display!
