Perfect camera to send with my son out of the country. He does not have to worry about charging batteries in Ukraine or the different voltages of electricity. He can just throw in a new set of batteries and he is off and running. It is also surprisingly small and fits right in his pocket. I like the programs and how easy it is to use. I highly recommend this camera. I am thinking of getting one for myself. It is better than my camera on my phone and just as portable. Nice job Cannon.

I just love my new camera. There I was in Athens and I couldn't see on my older camera or my tablet with the strong sun. Another tourist told me she had a camera with a normal viewfinder. I looked all over and most cameras with both kind of viewfinders were big and expensive. This is small and takes wonderful photos. It didn't come with a case and didn't fit my small case for the old Lumix but it fit right into an old mouse case I had. I also love that I won't need to take a special charger, just some AA batteries which are found all over the world. I haven't learned all of the features yet but will be traveling soon so will have to explore all of the camera.

when you need to use the flash- because the camera is powered by batteries, it takes a long time to charge. and then the moment you were hoping to capture has passed.bummer.

A little grainy, but the viewfinder is a rare thing to have included with the new digital computers. The other plus is it takes AA batteries.

Junk, pure and simple, Grainy pictures at best, Built like a child's toy! I would not waste your money!! Buy another brand.

The one thing that I really like about this camera is that has a view finder. This is not often found on this type of camera any more.Secondly, I like that it uses standard AA batteries as I use it on the Job and don't have time for recharging! Also, by not using the LCD screen while taking pictures, it saves a lot of battery life.

I think the camera is too small and therefore it is too hard to handle and the pictures are hard to take. The features are hard to use I liked the older modal better

Outstanding value. It replaces an excellent older Power Shot A530 with more capacity & features. It is virtually impossible to find a small camera in this category with both a visual view finder and a good screen together. A GREAT SMALL CAMERA! Thanks Canon for making this type of camera again. Our A530 has traveled across the globe operating flawlessly. I assume the A1400 will function flawlessly for years too!

For a little more than the cost of three throw away digital cameras, why not have one that will last for years. Not the most sophisticated cameras I have owned but a great little, take with you and don't worry, camera that fits in your pocket.

worth every dime, great pics easy to use does go thru batteries ( carry spares) but there AA so they are cheap and I do take a lot of pics with it at one time , I would get it if you want an inexpensive Canon , when it wears out I will get another

My 5 year old Canon point and shoot was stolen recently, and I have an iPad and a good phone, but still like to use a camera for some things. For the price, this is great. Black, plastic, not much to look at, but it takes good pictures and fits in a woman 's pocket. Uses AA batteries, another plus., plus it has a viewfinder, which my stolen camera did not have. Recommend it.

The eyepiece is the biggest feature. You can't find one anywhere else unless you pay a lot more. Camera takes great pictures and its tough. I slipped and fell in Sicily in September. Camera flew out of my hand and bounced off two cement walls before it hit the ground. Nothing worked so I thought it was toast. I took it back to the hotel and noticed the turret was out of line. With nothing to lose, I attempted to bend it back. something went Pop and everything functioned perfectly. Still running great in December.

This camera does not automatically adjust to Macro and the macro button is not convenient on the back of the camera to switch to it easily. My old PowerShot adjust automatically, and I was just buying this one as back up since it was so reasonably priced, but will be returning it. Also, takes a while for the flash to charge. This camera is very inexpensive, extremely light weight and compact, and may work fine for pictures with plenty of lighting and not needing macro, it just does not fit my use.

We have only been using it for a couple of months now but am very impressed considering the price. It does feel light weight and cheap but it packs in a lot of features and takes excellent photos. It is slow on the rebound and at recharging the flash but I love using only 2 AA batteries and they last, we are still on the first set. Also still like having a view finder, and that it is easy to use.
