Most of the features on this camera I like. There are one or two of them that I don't like because sometimes it is hard to focus on the one object you want to. All in all it isn't that bad.

If you shoot RAW FYI:I shoot with many cameras and was looking to use this as an everyday shooter. I buy only buy cameras that can shoot raw images for tweaking in PS.When I use the Canon S100 at focal lengths from 24mm to 35mm the raw images are very distorted. I never have seen anything this bad. My Canon S95 had minor raw distortion and I expected some on the S100 @ 24mm but it is unusable even at 35mm. The horizon is curled up. The jpg engine canon is using might be correcting the distortion and doing a very good job of it, that is why I gave it 3 stars.I posted some jpg vs raw images. I think they show up on page 13 of the customer image galleryOtherwise the camera is great like others have said. Maybe I have a defective camera???

Canon really need to lift their game. IMO the S100 is not a patch on the picture quality of the S95 I had previously and after several months, the lens now won't retract. I have been reading extensively online and apparently this is happening to heaps of users and everyone is getting really frustrated with it.In the mean time, I purchased a Sony (they now support SD cards!!!) - and for half the price it craps all over the S100 for both picture quality and features.This division of Canon has really lost the plot. It is a shame because I have 8 spare batteries for it too but I think I will replace it with a Sony.

I've owned about 30 compact digital cameras and the S100 is, by all means, one of my favorites. I've owned and used it since mid-October, taking well over 2000 shots.After taking time to learn how to make adjustments when using the 24mm/equiv lens, I have to ask myself how I ever lived without a lens with that wide angle. I've taken some of the best inside shots of my family, ever, with the camera.I also like the longer focal length over my S90, and the high ISO performance (assuming I get the settings right for a scene).If you're a full auto mode user, you may be disappointed with the S100, especially if you don't use center (single area) autofocus. Learn to use P Mode and adjust settings (including Custom Color settings) as needed (eg. white balance, ISO, Exposure Compensation, Image Stabilization, saturation, Focus Mode and focus point size, etc). If you're not willing to learn how to tweak some of these settings, save yourself some money and buy a less expensive, real Point and Shoot camera. If you don't like to post-process images, this camera may not be for you either.I take my s100 with me everywhere and it's a worthy companion to my DSLR.Bottom line: if you're a pro or photo enthusiast, the Canon s100 is worthy of your consideration. If you're a die-hard point-and-shooter, look elsewhere.ps: I'm not into video but I've tried it on the s100. It's amazing though, for those who use a dedicated video cam, I'm sure they'll point out weaknesses.

This camera is spectacular for a point-and-shoot. Its low-light performance is great, owing to its large sensor and fast lens, and it served me well on my recent vacation. The GPS is extremely useful for finding what you took pictures of later on. Admittedly, the battery life is mediocre, especially with the GPS on, but I have some spare NB-5Ls from previous Canon cameras so it wasn't an issue for me.You'd be hard-pressed to find a better camera you can keep in your pocket. They are unretouched, except for the Northern Lights, where I bumped up the levels: another drawback is that 1) maximum exposure is 15 seconds and 2) long exposures are limited to ISO 80, even though its noise levels are good (even ISO 800 is decent, and 400 is perfectly usable)Here are sample pictures from said vacation: [...]Pros:- Great image quality, even indoors / low light- GPS- SmallCons:- Mediocre battery life- Limited long exposure

I enjoy taking great photographs and lets face it, only the best and most expensive equipment gives you the quality that some demand. Lets face something else...you can not carry around a bunch of equipment with you all the time and have it set up to capture that "quick take a picture" shot. This is one of the many reasons there is such a big market for digital point and shoot cameras.Well. Im not a professional photographer but I sure come across as one when people see the pictures I take with my S100. It is simply the best compact digital camera ever made. Are you just a point and shoot type? Fine. Set the dial to auto and go ahead and make beautiful pictures. Are you a serious photographer? Put this little number in your pocket and rest assured that you have all that you need to compose a masterpiece.

Camera is excellent, however battery did not work. Wouldn't hold charge. Had to spend extra 35 dollars to get new one. Camera must have been sitting on shelf a long time

I had LX5 for almost a year. I bought both LX7 and S100 when it's on sale. If you are looking for easy to use, great image quality especially at low light, high ISO environment, S100 is a clear winner.

Sometimes it is hard to open the camera and take a quick shot...but, after awhile you get used to it. Fully functional and nice leather for the price.

Great quality, retro-feel. One star deducted for an awkward way the top part is connected : it is being held by two buttons, which is not secure enough to keep it hanging but inconvenient to detach completely

This camera does not have lot of features compared to advanced SLR. If you are looking for a simple point and shoot camera, you got it. There is a newer version of this camera available as well.

For those like me who want a camera that you can completely control every setting, yet fit in your pocket, this is it. Takes wonderful low light pictures. I've had it about a year now and it goes everywhere with me. I love it.

You can't tell from the main picture, but this is a very old fashioned Leica-style case. Be sure and check out the other views. It is designed to be hung from the neck or shoulder with a long thin strap. The camera screws into the base part of the case using the tripod socket. A second piece then folds completely over the front and top. There is no way to attach this case to a belt.I would think that anyone who bought an S95 or S100 would want to carry it where you could get at it quickly and easily. This is a case that would be more appropriate for a larger camera. However, it is quite well made, so if you have a nostalgic desire for this type of case, you will be happy with the quality of this case.

I got this case for the S95 for everyday use (SLR user, but don't want to carry an SLR every day). I needed a case that would take the everyday abuse of forgetting I had it--getting bumped, scraped, whatever. It's thick enough and the camera is pretty secure in the old-school looking pouch. I don't care if it's not real leather, but it does look like a leather purse if you wear it (I've had two "nice purse" comments...) There are three snaps on the bottom holding the flap that wraps from front to back, covering the lens and lcd display. You can unsnap one or two snaps, leaving the flap dangling while you take pictures, or all three and remove it altogether (I usually end up doing this to keep from having to make sure it doesn't get in the way of the picture). Some reviewers really don't like this aspect of the design, where I don't mind it. Also, since it screws onto the camera using the tripod mount, you have to unscrew it for access to the battery, memory card, or I/O ports for downloading. And though I don't really use it for video, the case covers the microphones, so you'd have to unscrew it from the case for video. The main drawback for me is that there is about a 1 by ? inch gap on the top sides where the camera body is exposed, so if I'm outside and it starts raining I have remember that I'm wearing it, if I'm wearing it.

Even though the price was low, I was anxious about ordering this case after reading some of the negative reviews. I have to say I am very pleased about the design and actual feel of this product. It fits the s100 camera very well, appears to be well-engineered and made of real leather, and this is my favorite camera case ever. Removing the top part (three bottom snaps) allows me to keep the camera still in the half-case and carry around in the neck strap... handy, protective, and retro-stylish. This case looks even better in person than it did online, and it exceeded my expectations.

I received a free all in one with my lap top several years back and it finally kicked the bucket. A family member had a Canon all in one that I was impressed with so I decided to give it a shot, not a great risk at $80. I have been very pleased with this printer. Set up and installation are simple and straightforward. I had a small hiccup getting the printer to print via the WiFi connection but emailed Canon and received a response within a few hours that explained the problem and it worked like a charm. Having a document feeder is a really nice feature. The scanner and copier are very easy to use and I've been very pleased with the scanner's software. The program is very intuitive and allows you to scan double sided papers and save the files in whatever format you choose easily. It's also scans fairly quickly. As a teacher I wanted to scan in a semester's worth of worksheets and was able to do it in one day. It might not be suited for heavy office use, but it works perfectly for a personal all in one. I have no plans to use the fax feature and can't speak to that but would definitely recommend this printer.

This camera comes with a broken lens. If it's not broken when it arrives, it will soon enough. Because the little (internal) plastic part that operates the lens zoom brakes off no matter how careful you are and you'll spend the next three weeks dealing with the "wonderful" folks at canon repair center. Once it's "fixed", you'll get the camera back for couple of days and did I mention that the cheap plastic part that operates the lens brakes off... Good luck dealing with canon warranty the second time around...

I bought this printer for its wireless abilities and photo printing but I am LOVING it for my small business as well! Great buy for the the price and amazing quality in structure(not cheaply built)and printing. My photos come out as if I got them from a professional printing place! I can print from all my computers, my laptop, iPod and Phone! Highly recommend!

First let me say, I ordered this based on reviews of others. I have never purchased anything other than HP, and now I know why. I am a computer tech, and it still took me a long time to set this up. The wireless set up was not intuitive, no where in the directions did it say to turn on the wifi on the printer, and still, after I did that, the printer was still not detected, and there was no way to force it. I finally had to enter everything on the printer itself, and then the software was able to locate the printer. The printer itself is VERY NOISY, something I can't stand. I am willing to keep this a few days to see how it goes, but I'm leaning towards sending it back and trying something else. It will all depend on how easy the setup is on my laptop.I have set up many Canon printers, but none wirelessly, so I would suggest that if you are a novice, you should avoid this printer.

Just received the camera and noticed there is no paper manual. I've bought 8-10 Canon cameras over the years. The latest are the Canon 5D Mark II EOS and the S90. All of them have come with paper manuals. It does come with a 200+ page manual on a CD. Obviously you generally won't be using the camera while sitting in front of a computer so I find this to be a significant short coming. I wrote to Canon and they advised they were doing this to be more green. You cannot even buy a manual.I haven't received a lens error message and have been playing with the camera for a day or so. I'm familiar with Canon products, especially the S90 so I'm able to figure out most everything. We're taking a trip soon so I'll update this in a month.

I really like to ability to adjust the setting more than a normal compact camera. I adjusted the settings based on somebody's suggested settings and use AV for most of my picture. Then flip over to auto to let other people use it.

It looks and feels exactly the way its shown. No u cant fit it on yr belt but the single strap does work most of the times. We have used it on hikes and in sports stadiums alike besides of course normal home usage. Overall i think its the best case for the price for a canon sd-95/100.

Better than the S95, don't need the WiFi of the S110? The S100 fits nicely in between. Offers great performance for the price.
