I recently took a trip to the East Coast. A friend of mine, who happens to be a professional photographer, recommended I buy this camera for the trip. I could not have been happier. This camera takes great pictures, both indoors and outdoors. The zoom lens worked great for those far away shots. I got some awesome shots.The size is just right. I have a carrying case that fits on my belt. Not bulky at all.If you're looking for a simple to operate that takes great pictures, this is your camera.I would definitely recommend this camera!

I got this printer for basic home and school work use. So far it has been sufficient for what I need. Other reviewers have talked about specific features but I wanted to share my experience with Mac OS 10.7 users. In theory, the setup for this printer is pretty basic. I found the manual to be more a hinderance than a help. I spent two hours troubleshooting errors but ultimately was able to get it up and running in 15 minutes following a combination of steps. The main problem is that the software in the box does not support Mac OS 10.7. Secondly, even after downloading the correct drivers, Apple (bonjour) gives you an error since it does not recognize the downloaded drivers. To fix this:- Follow the instructions for removing the protective material and connecting the printer to a power source.- Follow direction in the manual to connect the printer to your wireless network or just follow the directions in Setting Menu. This is simple and pretty intuitive.- Go to the Canon site, or google Canon Mx410 drivers for mac 10.7.- On the product page, click select drivers and then OS version 10.7. A list of possible drivers will pop up. I suggest downloading and installing the MX410 Mini Series Master Setup (includes scanner setup) and if that doesn't work follow up with the MX410 Series CUPS Print Driver (print driver)- Start with the first listed driver but connect the printer to your computer via USB cable. This should work to set up the printer to your mac so that it recognizes the drivers.- Once you complete the wired setup, disconnect the USB cable, Go to Systems Preference>Print/Scan>add (+) a new printer>Select the wireless version of the printer. You are good to go!After the physical hardware set up is complete, the actual software set up process should take about 10-15 minutes. Hope this helps all the Mac OS Lion folk out there!

This is the worst printer I've ever bought. It makes so much noise and is not "user friendly". It started skipping lines after only two months. I was going to return it, but the seller said it only had a one month guarantee. So it's now in the garbage dump where it belongs. I bought an Epson which is smaller, quieter, and easier to use.

I purchased the S100 in February 2012 at amazon.com.The quality of the Photos was great, however, after about nine month the camera quit working. The lens fails to retract and an error message is displayed, which reads "lens error" (Objektivfehler, wird automatisch ausgeschaltet, Kamera neu starten) and nothing works.During my research about this issue in a variety of on-line forums, I found several individuals that are experiencing the same issue. Since I no longer reside in the US, I am unable to take advantage of the warranty and the repair cost is approximately $200.00. With an original price tag of about $400.00, the repair cost is obviously unacceptable.My conclusion: "Never again Canon". I hope to be happier with a "Panasonic Lumix LX7".

I shoot Nikon for my DSLR's, but the S100 is the best handing compact I've owned. If you are a serious shooter and need to be able to change settings quickly this is your compact camera. Stellar image quality from its small sensor, it's the perfect carry camera to have at all times.

Bought this camera for my parents. They have always bought cheap cameras and the picture quality is horrible. The pictures here are crisp and clear. Color balance it top notch. if you want Wifi capability built into the camera, go with the S110. They are I think more or less the same camera.

I have a DSLR, which I love, but sometimes I don't want to carry my big camera and big lenses. Sometimes I just want to have a camera with me just in case something interesting pops up. This S100 is exceeding my expectations.I decided on this camera because I still wanted to shoot RAW and have the ability to process the images. The RAW images are beautiful.I've heard, "The best camera is the one you're carrying." This little gem goes with me all the time, even when I have my DSLR.

My husband bought this for me for Christmas and I love it. It is easy to use, especially for tech illiterate people like me, prints beautiful pictures and the screen to see your pic is big enough you can actually see it. Would recomend this to anyone. Only one thing, it does not come with a bag or anything to carry it in. I am looking for one as I take my camera everywhere and it bounces around on the my quad when I am out riding. Needs a good case. I am a scrapbookker and this camera will be perfect for all my pics.

This is the third PowerShot camera I've owned. I travel allot so being able to put it in my pocket makes it always available. It is very easy to use and takes quality pictures. I have cataloged thousands of pics with my Canons and most are clear, sharp and the colors are true to life. I recommend this camera to anyone that wants good pictures that don't require great skill to take.

The Lense opened and then would not shut while on a trip. I did more research and it turns out to be a reucurring problem with this camera. Specificly the problem happens with the camera having a serial number between a certain set of numbers. My Camera's serial number did not fall in those numbers and it still had the problem. So I return the camera to Amazon and they have been great so far. The camera just did not preform the way i expected from a camera of this price and reputaion.

I owned an HP before I bought this Canon. I read the reviews before I bought it, most of which were favorable.For those who simply want a wireless printer to print documents, you'll probably like this printer just fine.If you want to copy or scan, I wouldn't choose this printer. The copy quality is poor, unless you adjust the settings to dark. The scan quality is very poor...every photo I scan I have to use my photo editing software to improve the image.More than 50% of the time when I want to print an internet page, the printer locks up. I then have to power it off and then on. To print the internet page, I have to do a screen-print, copy the image to a Word document and then print the Word document.I would not recommend this printer.

The camera did not have a flash memory disk, so I can't use it. You sent me an offer for several types of memory disks, but the one I wanted was not on the list in the user's guide. I asked you for information and you gave me the manufacturer's phone number. I'll call them tomorrow morning; if they can tell me what the right type is, I'll order some.I would recommend you connect the information of a previous sale to follow-on offers. So, instead of saying "You recently bought a camera from us, the following memory types may fit," say "these product codes will fit." TK

I bought this camera to film my golf team player's swings and the 240 fps video mode does a great job. I am still working on the focal length ring and other settings, but it has satisfied my expectations for that. The GPS feature has not been very good, but it may be user error. I think it would be a great walk around camera for a vacation.

I am trying to figure out how to contact amazon about this issue but i've been going around in circles for the past hour. I love how the package came in early with my book, memory card, and an empty camera box. I have no need for a memory card if the camera is missing! Is there an issue with the warehouse since they're sending empty boxes of products? How can i go about getting the camera i paid for?

I made the mistake of buying a cheap Kodak all in one because the ink was cheap. Huge mistake. Never will I make that mistake again.Junked that printer and moved to this. It does everything I need, mainly scanning, copying and printing. Color prints are great, it prints documents fast enough and even scanning seems to be fairly speedy.Having wi-fi built in is great, since I have a main laptop on another room which most of my printing comes from.Well worth the price.

Canon PowerShot S100 12.1 MP Digital Camera with 5x Wide-Angle Optical Image Stabilized Zoom (Black) I bought this as a BD gift for my wife and she loves it. Very compact and easy to carry. We just returned from a 26 day trip in Italy and she goes on and on about ease of use and how wonderful the instant movie mode is. She downloaded the user manual onto her iPhone and iPad and has instant search access to get answers on the various modes and capabilities. She used the GPS mode on the trip and loves the picture quality. And, the F2.0 lens allows non-flash pictures in very low light settings (Museums, cathedrals, at night) which really extends a point and shoot photographers picture taking range. She had 3 batteries with her and I would recommend you always have at least two.

This is an amazing camera. Solid build and great photos. I have taken about 800 photos so far and almost all of them are keepers. I am still going through the 200 plus page manual and learning new things all the time on what more this can do. Incredible features and quality, I am super impressed. Overall reviews are lower because of the lens error but I got this at a price I felt was worth the risk. My serial number is outside the range of those with the issues so hopefully this will give me years of service. Couldn't be happier.

There's not much to be said about this camera that hasn't already been said, great clarity, excellent colors, low noise, the list goes on and on. What really sets this camera apart is that it offers up useable manual controls in a point and shoot body. The front control ring combined with the rear jog dial make manual mode a snap to use. Other cameras may offer up an equally impressive array of manual settings, but no other compact camera makes those settings as easy to access and control as the s100.I definitely recommend that you buy a FAST SD card. I purchased a SanDisk 64GB SDXC class 10 card. With a slower card, even a class 6, there is a noticeable slowdown in continuous shooting mode. An extra battery doesn't hurt either, especially if you want to use the GPS tagging. I also snagged the PSC-900 case to keep the camera safe in transit, as well as a skin for the rear display from bestskinsever.com (s95 skin is compatible) to keep the display scratch free when it's out of the case.Canon does have a firmware update released for this camera, but my unit, purchased May 2012, did not require the firmware update. More details can be found on Canon's website.All in all, this camera is worth every penny if you're a shooter that wants a compact carry-anywhere type of camera that is a breeze to use in manual mode.

Ordered this case on sale for $5.00; can't beat it for the price. The bottom piece screws into the tripod mount hole on the bottom of the camera, but the screw is double-sided to allow the camera to still be mounted with the case on (the screw head is hollow and threaded to match the diameter of the original mount hole). The top flap snaps completely off , if desired, allowing it to be a very nice neck strap setup. The leather is decent quality, and the case is slightly padded, giving me some assurance of protection from a minimal height fall. Gives a wonderful point-and-shoot camera the professional appearance and usability it is worthy of.

This unit does it all and effortlessly and I am very pleased, ink consumption is sm compared to other HP machines on the current market and it crisp and clean and it work for long distances I sit on the outside patio and it prints from the basement. I would recommend this to any homeowner. The ink is cheap at office max in a duel pack in the XL size. Thats all I got!

Just less than one year old and camera failed with 'lens error' displayed on screen.This is the second canon camera I have owned where the lens mechanism has failed.Camera takes nice pictures and the user interface is well designed. However, this does not make up for the reliability issue. Perhaps I have just been unlucky. Missed some great shots because of this.

I loved my S100 for the time I had it. I'm a pro photog and needed a carry all the time camera. It actually performs very well even @ 1600 ISO. I owned each S model from the S90 to this one. I only sold it to get a Lumix LX7 which I like a lot more but is not as compact as this one. I woulda kept both if I didn't need the money to pay for the LX7.

I caught this on sale for $59.99 from Amazon about 2 weeks ago. All I can say is that it works, it had an easy setup process, and it's very good looking and matches everything in my room.I was surprised by the size of the box that it came in until I opened it and saw that the printer is BIG too. This is not your average sized small crappy printer. This thing comes with all kinds of features (that I will probably never use), and even a door that opens by itself to allow printed pages to come out. It also comes with ink and a sample of glossy photo paper.After trying the print, copy, and scan functions with success, I haven't really tried it since. I also haven't tried the fax function yet, but I'm sure it's excellent like everything else is.Canon has another satisfied customer in me for sure. Like I said, it's shiny, it works great, and it's cheap. Definitely the best printer available for under $75-100. Look no further. Let's just hope it lasts well past its warranty. :-)

Unfortunately, I did not pay attention to the reviews.Yes, there is always a reason why things are on sale. Saw this for $5.99, so thought it was a no brainer. Howeve, even at that price, this is not worth it.Warning, this is not a pouch!This case is like the old fashion SLR screw in leather cases. It screws in the bottom of the camera. The top flap opens up in an awkward fashion. Way too cumbersome and inconvenient. To get to your battery or sdhc card, one has to unscrew the assembly.Well, time to look for an actual pouch.

Am quite satisfied with the performance of this camera and it's ease of use. Pictures are clear and well pronounced. Was skeptical after reading some reviews of "lens error" problems but was relieved when I started using the camera. Great for travel and easy to carry. Plus the full array of manual settings.

This is the worst printer I have ever own. I am not able to use the wireless feature after several months, it just would not recognize my wireless network anymore. The ink runs out so fast. The worst thing is, once the ink runs out, you can not use the fax, or the scanner, even though these features have nothing to do with the ink. I am about to dump this crap soon, it is not worth the frustration.

Great price for a super camera. The ability to shoot raw mode is what takes this camera to a level above most others. I know there are newer models and different brands that are better, but for a person looking to get real quality for an entry level price, this is the one.

I've had a lot of Canon SD Powershots, this is my first S. Love it! I can carry it everywhere, but the photos are a bit above the smaller point and shoots. Great video, great manual. I'd like a mic port though! And bigger battery.

I use a Canon t4i as my main camera, but sometimes you need to go places where its not feasible to carry a large camera. This is a great camera small enough to fit in my pocket when I don't want a big camera to carry around.

I have had this printer for over six months and am very pleased. I don't use all the functions available on it. I wanted just a reasonable basic printer and this one met my needs. The cartridges are priced okay as well and I do buy the XL cartridges for it.They last about thirty percent longer than the standard cartridges.

This camera is great!! I can't say enough good things about the camera and the software. This camera is realiable and just great. Any camera from Canon is great and this S100 replaced an old Canon that we had for many, many years. Buy, you'll love it. Easy to use, easy to share and easy to transfer pictures with the software.

First, this model is under a Canon factory recall due to a manufacturing defect.The defect renders it inoperable.I contacted Canon. They confirmed the recall and told me I would have to pay postage to return it.The recall was not disclosed by Amazon which is disappointing.Second, Canon doesn't provide a printed user manual. The manual is supplied in pdf form.This is neither an inexpensive nor an entry level camera.The thought of having to reformat and print the pdf just to have a manual to carry in my camera bag is also a disappointment.Sorry Cannon. Two strikes and you're out. I'm returning it.

I got this camera after selling a bulky Nikon DSLR. I wanted something with good picture quality and pocket-sized. I have to say that I am impressed by every photo. My husband and I will take a photo, glance down at the preview and just say, "Wow". The photos are bright and crisp. The camera itself feels great to hold, feels expensive and works great. I am so glad I got this camera, its perfect for us.

Incredible point and shoot camera. The price here compared to other sites like best buy and newegg can't be beat.Pros:-Pictures are clear and look amazing. Even in high or low lighting.-HD video recording.-I like the ability to manuall control the ISO.-The butons and overall fell of the camera is great. I like the way it feels in my hands.Cons:-So far just the battery life.-You need to buy a second battery.

I bought mine from Best buy and was sent to Philippines as a gift. After few months of using the lens error appears and I ask them to mail it back to me. I then brought it back to best buy and they gladly accept it for free repair (under the 1 year warranty). After a couple of weeks I got a call from Best Buy that Canon is unable to repair it but they will just refund me.Other than that the camera captures really nice low light pictures. It could have been a great camera.If you like to travel a lot and sometimes go the places with humid temperatures it is better to get the right piece of equipment.

Biased reviews submitted by Amazon or Canon have given this product 4 -5 stars. The reviews do not reflect the product quality, value or performance. Because this product is defective it is likely being sold to customers in efforts to clear the inventory of bad product.I purchased this unit by using FIA World Points, so it was basically free...and it is worth what I paid for it...nothing. I found this Canon product is not at all capable of being wireless. Since discovering this I have searched online for feedback about the problems I was encountering. As a result, I found customers all over with the same problems PLUS this item being sold at Walmart online for under $80. What does that mean?!?!? No wireless printer, scanner, fax that is worth anything sells at that price.It's junk!I hope you find this among the sea of rave reviews that have been submitted to cover for the failure of this product. That means Vine.com and others that are only submitting reviews to pump up the customer rating. Amazon has created a new venue for it's vendors to sell and promote products...it's called customer reviews.I also would suggest thinking twice about purchasing this product online because returning it will be nothing but a nightmare.

Bought this camera a month ago at Best Buy, I hate those long reviews so here are my thoughts:Pros:- Image quality with 1/1.7" sensor are amazing- Low light images astonishing most of the time- Full manual controls, very customizable on P and M modes, Raw- Amazing body texture, feels great and doesn't scratch easely, perfect grip- Small size really pocketable, the smallest compact-enthusast on the market- Full HD video with zoom while recording- 24mm amazing for landscapes and indoorCons:- Video is jumpy beacuse of the 24fps, would be great to have a 30fps or 60fps on next generation. I could not use the camera to make movies while walking, as I usually do on trips, gonna use my Sony TX-100V for videos unfortunately.- Zooming on video is really slow, but understandable.- Aperture at the end of zoom f5.9 is horrible, at low light make images noisy and have a weird color. I would prefer a 4x zoom.- Pop-up flash is annoying, right where my finger stays...- The auto mode sometimes doesn't get the picture right...- Flash cano note be adjusted, causing too bright pictures at night in the auto mode.- Focus is not good in lots of the photos...Update 16/04/12:After a month using, the S100, I can say that the camera is flawed. Serius auto focus issues, auto mode doens't get the picture right in lots of photos. Also, the colours are not vivid... I believe that a firware could fix those problems, it could be the perfect pocket camera.

This camera is perfect for those who want quality photos without having to bring a huge DSLR. It is everything that reviews say it is, except that its motor on the lens gets stuck every now and then because of factory defect. I sent this to our local Canon and they fixed it free of charge however I wish it did not act that way because the camera had to stay with Canon for more than a week (if parts are available). I am disappointed that for such quite an expensive piece of equipment that it is such a lemon. :(

I loved this camera for about three weeks (5x zoom,raw format, great pocket size). Then in a little less than 4 weeks, 10 days into my trip, the camera began to fail. The camera sometimes wouldn't turn on, when it did the lens would not retract, wouldn't turn off. I was traveling in hot/humid Hong Kong, Macau, & Hanoi going in and out of A/C spaces. Condensation apparently form on the inside of the camera. It was never rained on, exposed to liquids, etc. The few times it worked, the images produced continued to be very good. By time I returned to the USA and shipped the camera in for repairs corrosion had formed. Canon service said that the warranty did not cover this damage. BTW my Olympus EPL1 going through the same conditions never had a problem. I take extra care of my cameras when taking them between extreme temperature changes, but I have to question the durability of S100 in the conditions I described above. The conditions I was working in were not extreme, but I did have to monitor the fogging of the lens and LCD on both cameras.

I'm a college student on a budget, but I still wanted something that would help my preserve the memories. I found the Canon Powershot S100, and I could not be happier! For only around $300 you will get a feature packed camera that takes beautiful clear photos. I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a simple point and shoot that takes high quality photographs.

This line has always been solid. I had been considering a used S95, but when the S100 went on sale, I couldn't resist. I'm a semi-professional photographer, so while I have many other cameras, this is the one that stays with me.
