I got this camera after having the Rebel XTi for a little too long.. for background I'm an "amateur professional" I suppose. I dabble in weddings and portraits but my main use is for landscapes and macro.Overall this camera is simply amazing, especially for the price. The 19point AF radically improves the performance of even some of my slower lenses like my tokina 12-24mm f/4 and tamron 28-75mm f/2.8, the latter of which ive been using less and less because of the painful focus time and both of which have slow motors (both are first versions), as well as the tiny viewfinder on the XTi which deters me from manual focusing. But now with such an accurate and quick AF, even the slow motor gives me quick enough focus speed that the lens becomes usuable in lower light settings, and the viewfinder + live view (esp quick liveview) gives me so much more flexibility.The flip screen is pretty cool, though i haven't had THAT much use for it.The only reason why I voted down one star is some random interface stuff that annoys me. I understand the idea behind the wheel lock on the left side, but it's harder to be quick to switch between different program modes like M and Video. Video (like on all canon cameras ) is STILL all the way on the other end of the wheel. the on/off button is on the left side, which forces your left hand to move up and turn on the camera while that crucial second could be spend focusing or zooming.Otherwise, this camera's image quality is superb.. great control and vibrant colors, and excellent with the noise control. I'm really glad the 60d didnt' have the same issues as the 50d, and it was well worth the $1k :

Pretty fast SLR for it's category.Nice pictures and fast to take a picture burst on that crowd photo moment.I am pretty happy with the camera kit.

I have owned this camera / lens kit for just over two months now and can't imagine how I went so long without it.The Canon 60D has opened a new world of photography for me even though for years I've taken over 5000 pictures, I now take a lot better pictures! The 60D has all the features of the hobby DSLRs plus the pro features that lets you grow as a photographer. It took a while for me to decide on the 60D, but I am very happy that I made the decision.

I was looking for a quality camera that could last me quite a while and even bring me into some professional photography situations and this camera definitely fit the bill. I have had this camera for over a month now and am loving it more every day. The settings and diversity of this camera are amazing, the starting lens has wonderful functionality, and the audio and video that this camera has are of a superb caliber even though I did not expect it. Overall this camera is everything and more I was hoping for, so I recommend it fully for a begging or intermediate photographer that is looking to expand and learn more.

Camera is really good. I am not a professional, so I don't see myself upgrading the camera for another 10 years (ofcourse its an exaggeration, but its really good :) ). Images are really good, High iso images are far better than my previous XSI. I see 3200 very much acceptable. ISO 6400 is grainy like film in lowlight, but it is also usable unless you are planning to blow it up. Havent tested video exhaustively. But the ones i have done till now is reasonably good too !Lens is really a regular walkaround lens. Get a few good lenses if you really like to see value of the money you spent on this camera. I cant buy a canon 70-200mm f2.8, so I also bought the Tamron 70-200 F2.8 since I am on a budget.My wish list for the Lenses with this camera.- Tokina 11-16mm F2.8- Canon 70-200 F2.8 IS USM- Tamron 28-75 F2.8- Canon EF 50mm F1.4

I had the old Canon 300D and decided to upgraded. I hesitated a little bit between the Canon 600D and the 60D, and I am very glad I took the 60D. It's such an upgrade from the 300D. The controls are great and feel much more profesional, and I welcome the bigger battery, better body design, and faster shutter speed.The price difference was not that big with the 600D, and this is why I took the 60D.However, until Canon decide to update the 60D firmware, there are two things that the 600D has over the 60D1) Video digital zoom (600D digital video zoom can scale up to 3x without loosing quality).2) Continuous shooting mode with the new Canon 320ex speedlite. The Canon 320ex speedlite has a video light that can be use with the 60D and 600D, but apparently, according to the doc, with the 600D it has a continuous mode which allow the light to automatically turn on/off during shooting. I will get the 320ex soon, and will try to report if this is not available on the 60D.I hope that both of those are fixable by firmware and that canon will go the extra mile to bring that to us.But overall, I think that the 60D was a much better choice for me.

Well, as every customer notices, the new feature of LED screen is really awesome, especially for seniors. Since I bought it for my parents, I think this feature could help them take picture at any angle they want. Of course, it could be better if it is less expensive,lol.....

I am very impressed with the lens on this camera - and the IS capability. Several people told me I could not get a great water shot that showed movement (setting shutter speed really low) without using a tripod. Well they were wrong. I was able to get some incredible shots. The picture was in focus except the water was nice and soft showing the movement. I don't know how to attach a photo or I would.

If you are a begginer like me, this is an excellent product for you. I started using this camera a few weeks ago and I am really glad that I got it! Very easy to use, light and high quality. The lens is not the best, but it is expected for a kit lens. Nevertheless, you will be able to take really great pictures with it! Great buy!

Love this camera! I was deciding between the 550D, 600D, and 60D. For the marginal price difference, I suggest getting the 60D. It has a better kit lens, higher frame rates in burst mode, a more substantial body, and an LCD on the top of the camera near the shutter button. Overall, these features give this camera a more "pro" feel in my opinion and I just love taking pictures with this camera. In comparison, the 550D and 600D feel more like toys to me. I would only recommend getting these models if you have smaller hands and/or really can't afford the additional $300 which I completely understand...that's why Canon has these other models.Other information: Amazon's shipping service gets 3 and a half stars. I felt like it took them a little longer to ship than it should have taken. Maybe to encourage a prime membership?Anyhow, get this camera if you are in the market for a DSLR! Oh, on another note, this camera purchase finally ended any remaining loyalty I had for Sony products (which was already pretty low). Goodbye Sony proprietary formats and lack of continuing support for your own stupid formats (remember the first Memory Sticks?)!!! Sorry about the rant.

I started my photo hobby with a Rebel XS, and quickly outgrew it. A friend of mine picked up the 60D with the 28-135mm IS USM, for a great price, and i wanted to jump on that wagon. By the time i was ready, the price on that package jumped astronomically. So, after alot of research i found this setup, and was sold almost immediately. I was nervous about the lens, because i read alot of reviews about the "terrible vignetting" that this lens caused, but i bought it anyway. After a few days of use, i will say, without a doubt, this lens is great for a kit lens. The UD motor isn't very loud, i would say comparable to the USM. This lens takes great shots throught the focal range, and i wouldn't trade it for any other kit lens.The camera is exactly what i knew it to be. And after playing with my buddies 60D, it was a seamless transition from something like that light weight starter DSLR to this camera, and i went from alright shots, to amazing shots overnight!

As a university photography teacher I can say that this is one of the best values for a semi-professional photographer. While I am the first to realize that true photography takes place in the mind of the photographer, this camera has the stuff to assist in many ways. The pivot view-screen, wireless flash triggering, top information display, and 3 stop auto bracketing (for HDR) all add to the ability of this camera to compete with any other brand or price range. I purchased this through Amazon.com and was completely satisfied with the order.

This was an excellent product, in great condition. It got here really fast and its proving to be quite useful. I wish it had come with a flash, but nothing is perfect.

This is a great camera. I would highly recommend it. It is extremely versatile and will appeal to anyone from semi-pro to the novice photographer.

Takes very good photos and easy to use. Video quality is very good. One issue is the lens rotation/zoom feels too loose. Wish it had more friction so it would feel more solid and not rotate so easily. Other then that I love the Canon 60D.

It is an excellent camera with super picture quality. I couldn't have asked for better DSLR camera for the given price. Anyone wants to buy DSLR camera then should go for it!!
